I saw this movie. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either. One thing that is noticeable is that the cast from 1976 movie were destined to be huge stars, the kids in this movie are not. The only cast member I thought might make it is the girl who played Amy Irivings part, Sue Snell. I can't see the others becoming major stars.

Well funny thing is, I tend to like remakes best when I don't know who is in them. But you are right that there were alot of famous people in the first one. Hollywood needs to understand that not everything on the planet needs a remake. It's getting ridiculous. A prime example would be A nightmare on elm street. We couldn't wait for the remake of that, and guess what? I didn't like it. I didn't find it scary. It was filled with famous people. Jackie Earl Haley, Roona Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz. But the original movie had nobody. The only 2 people that were actually famous before that were the parents. Johnny Depp is the only one who came out of that movie a megastar.
