Wait so not true? I just saw this posted again within the last half hour on FB and my heart sank. So if it was deleted it looks reposted- although FB is being weird to me so... Still not seeing anything on google either.

I'm still flipped out. I just shared the story with my best friend who joined me at the Detroit show and has become a huge Mac fan since then had to say oh wait, I hear it's a hacker. Gotta say too that I wondered- wait, what about the show in Las Vegas and that seemed weird. (Trying desperately to find a way to get to Vegas because I need more Mac!) So... Anyone hear anymore? Like I said, looked as if it was reposted within the last 45mins unless Facebook is doing something weird for me. Kind of screwy to hope its a hacker but what a terrible, terrible thing to do. Flips out all of us fans and must be especially upsetting for anyone who with tickets to he Aussie and NZ shows.

I don't know. If they had cancelled it they'd surely want the word out ASAP? Shorter notice = more irate fans. They would at least retain a statement that the tour was cancelled, surely?

But then, they didn't make a post saying "please ignore the hack" either. I guess the lesson here is to take everything with a grain of salt and not reach conclusions until more information is presented.

I'll assume it's false until something more official comes along to say otherwise.

If any of this is true (I'm skeptical), management could be trying to prepare something official, rather than a passing comment on FB. But Live Nation would be the ones making any official announcement since they are ultimately responsible for the tour.

On the heels of the John McVie death rumors from yesterday, this is probably also untrue.

yes, i believe that was one of the speculations - that someone jumped the gun on FB before all the ducks for LN etc announcements were put in a row.

if true, it would be good to put their ducks in a row fast, and if the page was hacked, let people know fast too. but extrapolating from LB UK/Ire tour cancellation events in 2011, LN / PR are all off for the weekend and will not issue anything till Monday.

hope it's not true.

Rumours NZ Fleetwood Mac concerts cancelled

Rumours are flying that Fleetwood Mac has cancelled its upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Comments on Twitter and Facebook this morning claimed the shows had been canceled due to the health of John McVie, who had been scheduled to undergo cancer treatment at the time of the tour.

"We are sorry to be unable to play these Australian and New Zealand dates. We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family the very best," a tweet said.

However, the comments were later removed and there has been speculation someone had hacked the band's official social media accounts.

The band has just finished a European tour and was due to perform in Australia before arriving in Auckland for three shows from December 4.

A press release from the concert's promoter is due out this afternoon.

John McVie: New Album and 2014 World Tour?
News of musician John McVie’s death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However the October 2013 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports. Thankfully, Fleetwood Mac bassist is alive and well.

UPDATE 27/10/2013 : This story seems to be false. (read more)

John McVie death hoax spreads on Facebook

Rumors of the musician’s alleged demise gained traction on Friday after a ‘R.I.P. John McVie’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the British musician’s passing:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Friday (October 25, 2013), our beloved musician John McVie passed away. John McVie was born on November 26, 1945 in London. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 67-year-old musician was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.

Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major British network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of a musician of John McVie's stature would be major news across networks.

A recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (84%) of respondents think those John McVie death rumors are not funny anymore.

John McVie Death Hoax Dismissed Since Musician Is ‘Alive And Well’

On Saturday (October 26) the musician's reps officially confirmed that John McVie is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved musician. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

Now, Stevie will hate the internet even more. I wonder what she will say in her next WY intro, if there will be an allusion.

Luckily, I never saw the "John is Dead" news. I was late to the game and just saw the cancer part and I still don't know if that's true.

I do think John would probably not announce it if it was, although they'd have to give a reason for cancelling the rest of the tour. So, maybe he would. But that need aside, I think the first inclination would be for them to just keep that to themselves. We never see him anyway and it would be very simple for him to slip out of sight for a couple of years without saying anything publicly about treatment.

I used to make fun of Harvey Levin, but now the major networks rely on TMZ for breaking news and it used to be limited to only celebrities, but TMZ now is the first with news about politicians as well. So, that's our journalism now, TMZ and twitter.

Yes, they would probably want to make such an announcement AFTER the Ziggo dome show and not before.

I can't imagine Stevie wouldn't have teared up a little during the show, although no one would have said the reason.

Anyway, even if it's true, John has still been doing these 2 hour shows and I think that's great. I think he's going in strong. I'm glad to have a mom who was in intensive care following a post-chemo infection 11 years ago and is now healthy and more active than she even needs to be. So, I just feel hope and gratitude and a bit of depression, but I smile thinking of both Christine and her brother John there using their healing powers on Mr. McVie, should he need them.

yeah, it was the same with LB's cancelled UK shows in 2011. so, hard to tell what's going on.

their PR / management is sloppy and slow with social media. if it's a hoax that shouldn't be hard to announce - they have an official website and official twitter account, besides their FB page.

at least at that time with LB's 2011 tour, his official website announced almost immediately that the tour was postponed so that people didn't have to wait the whole weekend to find out one way or another. then on Monday official Live Nation statement finally came.

The fact that it hasn't been announced as a hoax (which, like all of you have been saying, could have easily been posted at the time the initial statement was taken down and the issue would have been solved) is unfortunately leading me to believe it's most likely true.

But I suppose we still have to wait for the final word.

P.S. Dear Fleetwood Mac, I will gladly take over your social media accounts and run them in a timely and effective manner completely free of charge. It would be my pleasure and save me a lot of personal frustration.

I was just sitting here going through the photos. This is John in Berlin. There have been plenty of photos like that. I tear up not because I fear bad things, but just because we all love him so much. I mean, no one is torn about him because he hasn't done anything controversial in decades, so there's this groundswell of unmitigated affection, world over.

:( . I was just recently thinking how happy I am, that after all this time they all are still going strong. And now this. I'm happy that I got to see them twice on this tour but it can never be enough. I want more. Also: I'm wondering how long they've known. The post going live yesterday during the last show of the european leg is such a mess. Add that to the thing with the sound problems, song dropping due to time and Christine showing up at the hotel.

John will be in my thoughts for sure. I read the Q/A just recently... I love his humour!

So heartbroken. I still don't understand why the message on Facebook was deleted AT LEAST twice from what I've seen and I just saw it was reposted an hour ago (it is currently 5am EST. that means the message was posted again at 4am EST or so? Really??) I'm still confused by it all.

Seriously you guys, I see several of you are now saying its real but how do you know? The official website says NOTHING and still is showing the upcoming tour dates and linking me to buy tickets. In fact I'm still able to buy tickets to the Sydney show (its just what I happened to click on but I assume that it'd be the same for all of them...). I'm only seeing a little bit when I google and most links seem to be saying its still unclear.

So why are we saying its for real now? I mean I can follow all the logic in the speculation on how it might be true but exactly how do we know yet? I sure think even if it is true that they need to change the Facebook message and put it on their website, etc.

Does anyone have a link to prove this yet? For real? So, so frustrating. And I can't imagine what it must be like- whether its true or whether it isn't- to be John right now. :(

I understand your disbelief. The whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. I didn't want to believe it either when the message was first posted, but I does appear to be true now.

In situations like this were a tour is already booked, the promoters are usually the first one's to announce a cancellation, because the fans want to know how to get their money back on the tickets they have already bought.

The official band website usually waits and announces the cancellation after the promoters, so I'm pretty sure the FM official website should update their site soon.

Here's a link to the promoters (Live Nation) Facebook page:

You can check it out yourself.

I guess they just didn't want the news to come out before the show. I'm sure John wanted to be long on a plane before all the sentimentality started. They prepared a statement but then it got posted too soon, it seems.

Any videos we get from the last show this year will be very poignant to watch. Even Don't Stop, or perhaps, especially, Don't Stop could not have been easy for them. I want to savor that, the band intros and the last bow. But it's not goodbye. We're holding them to another tour when John is mended!

You have to wonder just when they all knew.......
Everything points to way back when Christine went to Hawaii...
Why if they knew then would they let him tour instead of starting treatment right away....
And if they knew ..... how were they able to act like nothing was wrong???

I don't think they all knew since Hawaii. But John probably has not been feeling well since for a while now. Maybe he didn't know what it was or just thought it was age. When you start a tour like this the performers usually go through a medical examination and get insured for the tour, so maybe nothing was diagnosed at that point.

Thanks. And ugh. I think I was still holding onto hope. I'm a little bit freaked out because just last week I was having a rough day that was made better by listening to Fleetwood Mac (of course) and I started rattling on about how I desperately needed to see them again and hopefully one day meet them all. In fact I've really been trying to find a way to get to that Vegas show (is that off too? Anyone know?). And I feel so awful for saying this but just last week I seriously said "I really need to go do this. They might not tour again for a few years and you never know what could happen..." and I felt really strange saying that- probably just because of course no one wants to imagine their favorite entertainers getting sick or anything. To be fair I have a life threatening illness myself and added in that it could be me who doesn't live for another tour (and that's a big part of why I wanted to get to Vegas though with medical needs I need to find someone to join me)... Anyway... I just hate that I said that so recently. Not an outrageous thing to say I suppose.

I can also say that I'm alive today several times over thanks to modern medicine. And I'm not a rock star just a poor disabled 20-something with complex and rare medical issues. Mine has no cure but I'm still here. Obviously we don't know what kind of cancer John has or the prognosis or anything. But people do beat cancer. And maybe money doesn't always buy the best care but it buys you more options and sure eases the financial burdens of serious illness. And John is not only well loved by all of us but also obviously has the band and his family and all. So he's going into this battle with more than many and that helps no matter what.

And ugh sorry to ramble on. I still regret that I've only seen the Mac once and passed up the previous tour and of course I'm young so didn't have much chance before that. It meant the whole world to me to finally see them. It was the top of my bucket list and hands down the best concert I've ever been to. I keep refusing to go to any concerts honestly because they can't live up to it. I still can close my eyes and listen to my vinyl and imagine I'm there. And it was the happiest day I had in so, so long. Everyone tried to get me to cancel because of my health in fact. I only bought tickets that same day. Still laugh at how everyone in the handicap section was standing up and out of their wheelchairs singing and dancing for at least part of the show. I keep joking that Fleetwood Mac is a miracle worker- making the sick dance. ;) Anyway, I'm sure we've all got out stories and happy memories. And I think you know- I hope John knows how much of a difference he's made in all of our lives. I'm just a lonely girl who might not live to be 30 and I've had to face my own mortality and all and I always feel like I haven't had enough time and haven't done enough. And that concert was hands down one of the very best days of my life. I hope then that there will be more Mac shows. That John will beat the cancer. That he does know how loved he is and what a mark he's made. That in 2014 or 15 or whenever hell be back and better than ever. And maybe I'll finally get my dream of meeting them all too.

Anyway seriously sorry for all the sap. I know the band and all its members mean so much to all of us. And this sucks. There's no other way to put that. And darn it I've been up all night and need to try and sleep and my mind is racing thinking about all of this. I never even got a good picture of him at the concert I went to because I was sitting far over to the opposite side. Silly thing to think about... So here's hoping for future concerts for all of us and a one day healthy John who kicks cancer's butt!

Maybe something did happen around the Hawaii date though. Like they didn't have answers but he got suddenly worse (or the symptoms showed for the first time) and he was facing testing and everyone, including Chris, came to rally around him for support? I mean sometimes its just as scary to not know what is wrong yet, you know? Granted I'm not as in the know on everything as some so just a thought. I know that the word cancer is always a scary one (even though there's a number of other equally devestating and scary diseases out there too) but maybe they didn't know it was cancer yet- just that's when they knew something was up. John seems like the type who might have tried to hide it though, I don't know. But its sure hard to be sick alone. And if you've got a history of alcoholism or any other kind of demons, it sure helps to have your friends and loved ones close when you're facing something so huge.

Anyway, we may never know though. Its all speculative. Here's hoping that they never have to tell us about it all (on the grounds that wont be any need) and that John makes a complete recovery.

This has to be a recent diagnosis. There is no way that anyone would schedule a 100-city international tour with cancer. They wouldn't have gotten insurance for one thing. Secondly, the stress of travel would have been unbearable. And it goes without saying that FM would have had their pants sued off by LiveNation if they had forged ahead knowingly without disclosing John's illness.

Sadly, I suspect Christine's presence in Amsterdam is telling. Given her reluctance to fly, she probably made an impromptu hop (via ferry, perhaps?) to see John off; nobody knows if/when John will be back in that part of the world again. Cancer is definitely not for the faint of heart, and it is something that one does not bounce back from quickly, if ever. Unfortunately, I don't see John back on stage for a long, long time. And if/when he does come back, he will be different. I'm utterly gutted by the news and I hope John makes a miraculous recovery. Yes, it's a bummer that lots of people made travel plans, etc. But this is all about John. Fleetwood Mac can lose a Buckingham or a Nicks, or even a Christine. But without John, there is no Fleetwood Mac.

Oddly enough, Las Vegas is still up for sale. I was thinking momentarily that it was doable, considering that chemo cycles are typically 3 weeks and radiation cycles are typically 3 months. If John is responding well to treatment and is not too bothered by the side effects, could he pull off Vegas? It's not too far from home either. Given the fact that the gig is about two months away, I think they had better make a swift decision about this show and announce it.

Another troubling thing for any traveler is to get sick when you are far away from home and cannot get diagnosed by your primary care physician. Don't despair yet. Timothy B. Schmit, bass player for the Eagles, was diagnosed with throat cancer last year. He got treatment, and a few months later joined the Eagles for a world tour, even singing again.

I know we all hope for the best, and I for one believe that it's possible for John to come out of this still being able to do what he loves if they caught it early... And it appears they have.

I'm so sorry for all of you who were planning to go to the shows. Perhaps ideally they could reschedule at some point in the future.

Prayers and best wishes for John!

Prayers and best wishes for John!

Tony Harnell of TNT had Thyroid Cancer and he has recovered and is back to being one of the best singers in all of music...Cancer is not a death sentence as it once was.

Even though I have suffered FM burnout, I still want to see John recover...Someone in FM has to have talent, and John's the man!

A local Vegas DJ just announced that the radio station would be giving away concert ticket and hotel stay packages all this upcoming week for the December 30 show. Don't know if he is just still out of the loop, or if maybe the band thinks they could still pull it off it it's not during a treatment cycle.

This has to be a recent diagnosis. There is no way that anyone would schedule a 100-city international tour with cancer. ...

Cancer is definitely not for the faint of heart, and it is something that one does not bounce back from quickly, if ever. Unfortunately, I don't see John back on stage for a long, long time. And if/when he does come back, he will be different. ..... But without John, there is no Fleetwood Mac.

F*** CANCER.

I agree. And it wasn't a precaution check. He sure was feeling not well during the tour. And that unfortunately could mean an advanced cancer. Hope he gets better anyway.

I friend of mine just had colon cancer surgery. Fortunately he is doing very wall, as the cancer was not extended. He loose like 20 pounds. But he is 44 and always was healthy, not like John who is 68, had drinking problems in the past, etc. Let's just pray and wait for good news soon (something I don't expect because he is very shy and discreet.

If it is colon cancer and was caught early, I do feel hopeful, because that's what my mother had and she was 65 at the time and has made a more than full recovery.

Her surgery went smoothly. What happened was that after two sessions of chemo she caught an infection, due to low immunities. She ended up in ICU because of that infection. And she did have a prolonged recovery from the infection, not the cancer per se. After that, she refused her remaining sessions of chemo, which I thought to be a great mistake, but 11 years later she's golden. So, I'm hopeful for John. If they caught it on time. Colonoscopies for all.

Fleetwood Mac is canceling planned performances in Australia and New Zealand as bassist John McVie is treated for cancer.

Band members Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham said in a statement Sunday that they're sorry to cancel the 14 show dates and hope "fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best."

Band spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg did not specify what type of cancer McVie is treating.

Fleetwood Mac recently finished a European tour. The New Zealand and Australia shows were scheduled through Dec. 7 (Watch them discuss the tour below). The band is also set to perform in Las Vegas on Dec. 30.

You know..... Fleetwood Mac has gone through several personel changes... and survived.
They had Lindsey quit and it went on.....
They had Stevie leave for awhile, and though it didn't do really well, they survived.
They had Christine disappear and were still quite successfull
I think they could even replace Mick and things would roll along...
The one person that I have always thought could never be replaced is John...
He has quietly been the bed-rock and literally the heart of the group... Without him there is no Fleetwood Mac. He is the heart beat.....

Just listen to any and all the songs.. Without his bass ,,,,,,,,,,

I think you could easily get another drummer, but you can't replace the position Mick holds, mentally or emotionally. He's a neutral, an arbitrator, a mediator, the glue that keeps them all together, through the strong ties he has with each member individually.

He's the motor that keeps it all running, sometimes sneakily. Without Mick, the center cannot hold.

I was so looking forward to seeing my favourite band for the first time, the last time they came to NZ I missed out - I was only 19 years old and didn't have the money or a means of transport to get to New Plymouth of all places lol I was so desperate to see them this time that I bought tickets from a scalper on trademe when the shows were all sold out...a lesson learned right there. I'll bet it was a last-minute, one-time thing. Fleetwood Mac normally contracts out their publicity projects (1888 Media did the PR at the beginning of the North American tour). Stevie probably called Liz (since she's already her official publicist) as soon as she found out, knowing that Liz could work fast and would do it in a heartbeat because of their close professional relationship.

1888 Media did the Rumours re-release... Liz probably had a hand in this press release as well. She's released the last few on the band. She did both the initial tour announcement last December and the second announcement in January where they added more dates and did the Extended Play announcement in April.

I say we better think on more important things like keeping John in our thoughts and prayers to get better plus send him our love then worrying about canceled shows and who is going to sub for John for the Vegas show "The backbone of Fleetwood Mac" as Mick calls him and that what John is.

Fleetwood Mac is not Fleetwood Mac without Mac.

Its like Hall and Oates without Hall or Oates.Simon without Garfunkel,Brooks without Dunn and Seals without Crofts.

Meantime if Stevie feels up to it.She could still go to her IYD screening.
I dont see a reason for them cancelling the screening itself.

Fleetwood Mac Trade Me buyers miss out on refund

By Laura Macdonald 3 News Reporter, October 29, 2013

Fans of Fleetwood Mac are still reeling from the news that their three Auckland concerts have been cancelled.

The band announced on Sunday that bass guitarist John McVie has been diagnosed with cancer.

While the promise of a refund from Ticketmaster is a comfort to most ticket holders, those who bought tickets on sites like Trade Me will possibly miss out on the refund.

For more than four decades, the band's brand of soft rock has had a loyal following around the world and in New Zealand.

Twenty-four thousand tickets for three Auckland concerts in December sold out in 15 minutes after going on sale in June.

It wasn't long before they showed up on Trade Me, some selling for at least double their face price.

"It's completely legal to do it in New Zealand," says John Duffy of Trade Me. "Our policy is if it's legal… then you should be able to buy and sell it on Trade Me."

Diehard fans may have thought they were in luck scoring a ticket, even at $400, but now the concert is cancelled it's up to the seller to refund the buyer.

Mr Duffy says he believes refunding buyers would be "the right thing to do".

There's a possible win-win for the seller - having sold the ticket, they could get the refund too if their credit card transaction for the original purchase is reversed.

"I would suggest that if you sold your tickets on Trade Me and you claimed a refund back from Ticketmaster, that'd be a pretty uncool thing to do and it wouldn't really be in the spirit of dealing on Trade Me," says Mr Duffy.

Ticketmaster says it will issue refunds to the original ticket buyers

[Excerpt from interview with the band Stonefield:]

Sydney Morning Herald, November 8, 2013 by Sean Palmer

http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/missing-mac-but-stonefield-powers-on-20131107-2x3hk.html

Melbourne rock outfit Stonefield have had a massive year, releasing their self-titled debut album, riding the momentum of a soaring radio and video favourite Put Your Curse On Me and enjoying a string of sold-out shows across August. Add to this a massive BIGSOUND campaign that saw the band partner with Red Bull to throw a packed-out launch party for their album and the enviable position of supporting Fleetwood Mac on their Australian tour.

Not bad for a rock band made up of four sisters from Darraweit Guim, a small town in rural Victoria. But with so many positives occurring it was a "bummer" when they heard that their chance of meeting one of their biggest influences - Fleetwood Mac - would have to wait as they are not touring Australia this year due to illness in the band.

"Yeah, it is definitely disappointing and it is horrible that they have had to cancel the tour due to illness," says Amy Findlay, lead singer of Stonefield, who is gifted with a powerful singing voice so innately suited to hard-rock. "It is disappointing it is not going to happen and it's all a bit surreal. Pretty bummed about it but these things happen and that is life.

"They are a big influence on us and we really love the band, so we were really looking forward to it but really just looking forward to seeing them in general. Hopefully another opportunity will come up in the future."

No doubt Stonefield will see Stevie Nicks, Buckingham and co soon and their musical paths will cross. Yet as a group unearthed by Triple J, the Findlay sisters are blossoming into adulthood at the reins of a band that has a contemporary take on classic rock and roll. Surely that has got to be a fairly mind-blowing experience.

For those who had bought M&G packages to one of the Aus/NZ shows through Mick's site, have you received your refunds yet? I know the general advice was to allow 10 working days, but we're at that now and I haven't got mine yet...

1888 Media did the Rumours re-release... Liz probably had a hand in this press release as well. She's released the last few on the band. She did both the initial tour announcement last December and the second announcement in January where they added more dates and did the Extended Play announcement in April.

Press Release 1 (http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=194146&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1764083&highlight=#.Um62CvmUTEu)
Press Release 2 (http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=194146&p=irol-newsArticle&id=1777495#.Um61JPmUTEt)

Peter, the point I was making was that Liz does one-off projects for the band. I'm well aware that she has done PR for the band in the past.

I haven't received mine yet either. A friend of mine emailed the company when the cancellation was confirmed and in their response they said they were waiting for the official go ahead from the promoters (even though at that stage I'm pretty sure the promoters had made an official announcement). I emailed them myself on Thursday and am yet to receive a response. I'm hoping it won't be too difficult! I haven't even got my ticketmaster refund for the Hunter Valley show yet. I rang ticketmaster on Friday and an automated message said that the refunds were being processed that day and that we should allow another 3 working days for the deposit to go through.

Newcastle Herald Fleetwood cancel but show goes on

http://www.theherald.com.au/story/1909299/fleetwood-cancel-but-show-goes-on/?cs=12

By MATT CARR Nov. 14, 2013, 10:30 p.m.

FLEETWOOD Mac may have cancelled their show in the vineyards this weekend but that hasn’t stopped the crowds coming.

Travel websites on Wednesday were showing that about three-quarters of nearly 100 Hunter accommodation providers listed were fully booked for Saturday night.

And of those with vacancies, only a handful of rooms were left.

The Newcastle Herald has reported the Hope Estate concert was cancelled after Fleetwood Mac’s John McVie withdrew to undergo cancer treatment.

Ticket-holders received full refunds.

Best Western Wine Country Motor Inn manager Graham Farish said bookings for about 35 of the venue’s 50 rooms fell through when the band announced late last month that its performance was off.

But Mr Farish said new bookings had taken their place.

Even with the two-night minimum imposed on concert weekends withdrawn, Mr Farish said he was still near capacity.

‘‘We turned away a lot of people in that four months [ahead of the concert] but not all of them wanted to come to the concert,’’ Mr Farish said.

‘‘We didn’t find it difficult to fill up again.’’

Hope Estate owner Michael Hope said he personally took a ‘‘severe hit’’ from the cancellation but he was also concerned for the flow-on effects to suppliers and accommodation providers.

‘‘I’m pleased their bookings have been strong,’’ he said.

‘‘The good thing about the Hunter is there’s so many offerings for people so they say you know what, we’ll still go for the weekend.

‘‘We’ve just got to accept the fact that the tour is cancelled and we don’t get people here this weekend, but the weekends we do are brilliant.’’

Pretty slack indeed!! Just wondering how much extra did you fork out for Micks M&G? Also did you received any correspondence regarding the cancelled M&G?

Hope you get your money back asap...

I contacted Mick's M&G people last Wednesday, and they responded very promptly to advise that the order had been cancelled and refunded, and to allow 5-7 working days for the refund to be reflected on my card. So, I'm giving them until the end of this week, otherwise it will be another email and contacting the bank to get them on to it.

In fairness to the M&G organisers, I suspect that they may have had to wait for their refunds from Ticketek/Ticketmaster before processing ours...

Or maybe I'm just feeling uncharacteristically generous today :p

I love this. I'd hate to be the people who actually show up at the venue and see this as their first notice of the cancellation.

I love this. I'd hate to be the people who actually show up at the venue and see this as their first notice of the cancellation.Reminds me of one of the old concerts I drove down for ... I think it was the Forum dates on the '82 tour. There were about 100 people milling around at the box office window. The venue marque just said something like "No concert tonight." We had to ask at the window, and were told "Stevie has walking pneumonia."

And that there is another tour.

It really sucks...time is happening, and they're all reaching "that age". Who knows how much longer they've got, as a band.

Seeing "No Concert Tonight" and nothing else would have made me so frustrated! I guess before the internet, unless you happened to be listening to the radio at the right time you couldn't learn of a cancellation very easily.

Some of you might recall these shows I'm talking about.

Before the internet I end up driving up to Saratoga Springs NY for a Stevie concert and found out the show was canceled about 4 hours earlier do to a bad wind storm ripped through the area of the amphitheater.

I was pissed when I got there but cooled off about hour later when I was chatting to a couple of Stevie fans and left about 90 minutes later.

I could of tuned in the radio stations and listen to see if they canceled the show but I was listening to Stevie cassettes on the way up and the weather was beautiful and calm on the way up there.

After that I started calling the venues and checking what going on the the evenings show.

I wasn't worried about the gas since its was like about a $1.20 a gallon.

I end up enjoying the ride up and back home.

I feel sorry for those that fly and drive 3000 miles to these shows and find out the shows got canceled.

The other Stevie show which got canceled do to the venue screwing the artists out of their take. That was Lake Compounce .

Luckily my mother caught the local 12 noon news about Stevie's concert cancellation along with other artists which supposed to perform there in the next few weeks as she called me at work and let me know.I was pissed and end up staying at work the rest of the day since I was gonna leave at noon.
