Hi folks,

Could anyone please post the TISL (otherwise known as "Wall of Sound") mix of "Thrown Down"? I used to have it, but can't seem to find it in my collection. I'd be eternally grateful :).

Thank you very muchlies in advance :)

Ditto, This version is so much better than the one on the SYW album.

I love the SYW version.

Love the music, but she ruined the lyrics. I can't even listen to it.

I love the SYW version too. I never really understood the fascination with the TISL version beyond the fact that it's different. Honestly, if it had found a permanent home on TISL in this form, I'd consider it a minor track. Whereas the SYW version is much more emotionally involving and probably one of my favourites ever from Stevie.

When I want to introduce new people to Stevie Nicks who are averse to that sort of "classic" or "dated" sound in music, Thrown Down is one of the songs I turn to, and it always does the trick.

Don't get me wrong I do like the SYW version (It is a favourite of mine on the album ), but I think just because I haven't heard the TISL version before, I'm liking it more and preferring it.

Why do you say she ruined the lyrics? The SYW version is probably one of my fave Stevie songs of all of them. Best part of the song is in the 2nd verse when Lindsey's backing vocal drops out on the one line "you're not like other people, you do what you want to" and it's just her. The TISL version was a real treat to hear, though.

I like both versions, but I like he TISL better. It sounds more desperate to me, just the way it should, and I like the firm drum intro and the guitar riff that kinda gives the sense of falling in a spiral. the acoustic guitar works, the harmonies are convincing. the only thing I miss is the dramatic "you say you're sorry" bridge from the album version . I love the SYW version too, but in many cases I prefer the rough demo/outtake versions over the polished to perfection commercially released album track
