I am happy with a solo album, particularly if that's what makes her feel happy too ;)

WOW!!! What a way to start my day. I had a feeling something was up & not only just because of those 2 shows in London. She's had a bunch of other public appearances & interviews this year.
By the way, does anyone know how to record this show and hopefully that Johnny Walker show when it airs? I'm in the US. I'd like to download these shows to add to my collection.

Absolutely ridiculous. The Mac has an almost complete album in the can she could bring that 70's sound to and make a final Fleetwood Mac album. So disappointing the band can't work together. I'm sure her music will be excellent, and I will just mix her songs into Fleetwood Mac songs on a playlist. I so wanted to hear the three of them harmonizing again. Not happy.

Generally I'm not that much of a fan of Chris's solo work. I like it ok but I never tend to listen to it. However, this means she's really artistically engaged and excited about something in her own life, and that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Good for you, Christine. I hope the album rocks.

If she's not recording with Fleetwood Mac because of the ridiculous touring debacle, I'm flying myself to their next concert and protesting in the street.
That said, this makes me so unbelievably happy. You go, Christine.

She's been writing music since at least June of this year. Maybe she isn't recording with them because of the touring thing (I think she wants to work in her own terms, and is certainly in the position to do so), but regardless of with FM or solo, I'll take Christine any way I can get. And if by 70s sound, meaning her work from Future Games to Tusk, then YES PLEASE.

i don't know what the touring debacle you are talking about, but i definitely think that whoever goes to Mick's m&gs next should ask / tell him to push merging Christine's work with the album the boys have been working on.
we could have that all melodic soft pop Mac album out in no time and move on, if they'd just be reasonable!

The reported reason that Chris didn't record with them on SYW was because she didn't want to tour. They were worried she would have a hit song ad then not be with them to play it live. The solution: don't release her songs as singles if you are that worried about it.
If Chris would record with FM (and they would let her), Stevie would be there quicker than you could say "Dave Stewart" and we could have one last album with all 5 of them.

yup!
i couldn't care less whether Stevie comes to the table or not, with Christine on board they could still have Mac album.
of course, half of the people would have the same complaints as the EP (where are Stevie's songs?). but as long as there are 3-part harmonies, and they are putting stuff out, who cares?

Obviously Stevie would elbow and push people to get there, but even without her, the album would surely be kickass.
If not, I'd be more than happy with Christine solo. (and who knows? maybe while those four are touring, next thing we know the solo album is done)

Yes, Mick had been saying she was writing music and then when people asked him at Meet and Greets he clarified that she was doing it for herself solo and not for FM -- as I wanted to hope.

Memorable quotes:
Christine: "I swear, I wouldn't bloody touch him with a ten foot pole."
Lindsey: "Don't you think you should--"
Christine: "This hairclip is not coming off."
*Lindsey attempts to grab a Chocolate Hobnob*
Christine: "What did I tell you about the chocolate hobnobs?"

Wow! I sure hope it's true and not just an internet rumour. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if she's recording solo or with the Mac, just as long as she's recording.
I realize some of the folks on this board wish she'd record with the Mac and not a solo album, but realistically, a year ago would any of us have thought we'd ever get any new music from her? We all thought we'd never hear another note from Christine.
I think this is fantastic (if true) -- and totally thrilling!

Like the aborted version of Gift Of Screws, there's nothing saying that Mick, John & Lindsey wouldn't guest on a track or two. (Although, I'd be really surprised if Stevie made an appearance)
Heck, if she does anything close to blues, we might even get a Peter Green sighting, since Peter seems to be doing a couple of sessions these days.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I am so excited about this! I would actually prefer a whole Christine cd at this point than just a few of her songs on a Mac project. I didn't like the somewhat cold production on the Mac EP and hope Christine's new music has a warmer, more organic sound.
While I'd love a new Mac album with the classic lineup, I don't want that to derail Christine's new music. Let her bring a dozen new songs into the world!

Who knows? Maybe Chris can write enough songs to do both.
Regardless if she rejoins full-time or part-time, she's gonna have an easier time doing both (if she wants to that is) because she's definitely not backing this up with a tour. Probably a few shows in the UK, at most. Unlike, say, Stevie or Lindsey, who really go all out. Then again she probably doesn't want to do that, but as she said, never say never.

She really does look amazing in white. Also I often wonder if someone gave the necklace to her (I have this belief that Stevie did, though obviously I have no idea), hence making it really special.

I agree-and I enjoy the little stories. It made me happy when she mentioned going to the tennis with Justin and his wife--reassuring that she's not a complete hermit and has her old music friends in her life. Of course I hope their enthusiasm for performing and touring rubs off. (The Moody Blues were here recently and I hadn't realised they are still at it!).

This confirms a few of my hunches:
1. She was going crazy (in a way).
2. She's seeing (or saw) a shrink.
Also, she used that "plaigarizing myself" thing she used in the ITM interviews. Also, 8 songs is a pretty good number, even if they were not complete songs. Future looks bright on the Christine end of things. :D
And she said she feels 20/30 years old, and it clearly shows.

I never thought she'd ever do anything again. I'm thrilled that I was wrong. If she has 8 songs, 2 that are pretty far along, I think an album is a pretty good chance, maybe even a small tour, most likely in the U.K.

Former Fleetwood Mac band member Christine McVie picks her final songs in the Tracks Of My Years. Today, she picks a Deep Purple song that is widely recognised as having one of greatest guitar riffs ever along with a James Taylor track taken from his 1975 album Gorilla. There's a play of the Album Of The Week, the love song dedications and the Friday round of PopMaster. Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970 and left in1998 shortly after Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Christine is currently working on new material which is planned for a forthcoming solo album which she describes as marking a return to her musical sound from the seventies

As for me, I'm not angry at all. Just happy she's getting into her musical groove again. I have this hunch that her rejoining FM is on the horizon somewhere, but she'll do this whole solo thing first before anything else. Maybe the touring for the solo record is her getting her feet wet before going back to the big Mac machine, but who knows?

That's what I mean. If she is trying to get her feet wet because she feels that she has to tour with FM if a reunion is going to happen, I think that's unnecessary. I don't think recording should be bound up with touring.
Of course, if she wants to tour for her own reasons, that's wonderful. She even mentioned doing a few dates for Meantime, but those never happened. I would go out of my way to see her if she did do dates this time, even if I have to go to Europe.

My lord, I miss a day on the Ledge and there's a whole swarm of news! First of all, I am thrilled to hear she has 8 (ish) songs and that she is writing in her trademark style. Second, I am equally thrilled to hear her describe her reclusiveness as a thing of the past, a temporary delusion. It sounds as if she is paving the way for all kinds of possible career moves--or at least setting a record straight about what she is up to.
When she mentioned the possibility of a tour should the studio album come out I nearly **** myself. I would travel across the ocean to see her.

I'm glad she realised that being alone in the country was a falsehood. It was never going to totally satisfy her, given the underlying creative urges.
Does anyone else get the impression that we are getting Christine back, for ourselves?
It was so lovely to hear her talk about performing, recording and touring so effortlessly. That therapy must have helped enormously.
Of course, when I saw her at the O2 I knew she had sought help, as there's no way given her previous reservations that she'd have done it.

Did anyone read Wendy's trashing of Chris, on FB last night? She hates her.
I saw it. While I sympathize with Wendy, I get why Chris was pissed with Bob in 1997-8. I thought it was crap that Bob wasn't inducted back then, as I do now (same for Billy and Rick, BTW). I completely get it. Bob was a critical member of Fleetwood Mac, maybe THE most critical at one point, but he never had a hit with the band like Peter or the "Rumours" crew. Either viewpoint is legitimate. (Personally, I think Welch, Billy, and Rick should've been included, too.)
However, I doubt too many people would GAF if it came out that Christine was against Bob's induction today. It's a non-story in terms of bigger press. Bob hasn't worked for a major label in over 30 years, and Christine's been semi-retired for 15 years. The only people who care now are mostly the same people who cared in 1998.

How about some speculation about what "recording in her '70s style" actually means?
I am hoping it means more piano, more keyboards in general. The five "Welch era" albums featured a lot of prominent keyboards from Christine (the 1975 White Album too) and then her keyboards started to become a less important part of the band's sound. I long to hear some good solid piano songs (like "Homeward Bound").
I think 'In the Meantime' is a great album, but it doesn't have anywhere enough piano and keyboards.
David could describe what I mean in more accurate musical terminology, and I suspect he would agree with the idea.

Yes and in her description it sounded like she was concentrating more on the hooky melody, rather than the instrumentation, per se.

I believe, "Friend" or "You Are", would have been much more solid commercial hits than, "Peacekeeper". And they promoted the crap out of, "Peacekeeper".
I also believe with LB and SN harmonies, CM's tunes would have been even more sublime than they already are.

Of course, yes. Whenever I listen to "Giving it Back" I think of what a perfect Fleetwood Mac song it would have made, how it is actually closer to the classic Fleetwood Mac sound than anything in Say You Will.
But then there's "Forgiveness" which is so perfect as it is that I wouldn't have wanted her to share it or alter it on a Mac record...

yes. that''s what he's been saying for the last year, that he's written bunch of fleetwood mac-y melodic tunes, and that's how 2 of his 3 songs on EP sound.

Mick is always planning something. It's not like he didn't make something bigger happen when he helped on Lindsey's original GOS album.

yes. that''s what he's been saying for the last year, that he's written bunch of fleetwood mac-y melodic tunes, and that's how 2 of his 3 songs on EP sound.
If Christine is doing the melodic, then Lindsey won't have to. He can do more esoteric stuff and her hooky stuff would counter.

Well she said she hates living out of a suitcase.
But girl..... you have so much money.. puh lease... you have your own trunk.. plane, best hotels.. if you feel 30 years old again.. then stop whining about your, "oh so hard job", of performing for thousands of people who scream your name because they love your art, style and music so much...
I'd haul your trunks and clothes for you. You could order an outfit on the computer.. and I'd have it to you with a stylist in 20 min.. And with your money... they can make you look 30 yrs old again...
Loved this whole post. Here's an idea; with her money she can lease the nicest extended RV money can buy and when she travels through any one country she can call that home. Hire herself a good driver and all she has to do is pack her suitcase one time and then unpack into the RV one time and that is it. The RV can park in the lot of any concert venue or hotel lot that another band member resides in. She can even cook all her own meals if she prefers. And jbrownsjr or anyone else could still be at her door in 20 min. or less to be at her beck and call.

Maybe she can also take her dogs along too. And perhaps one of the other members could stay with her in the RV, if they so wish.
Oh, and if she requires some...assistance, I'll gladly volunteer my services.
I think this could be it. The final Fleetwood Mac album. If Christine has 3 finished songs to bring to the table along with Lindsey's 8 and Stevie can bring in 3. Take a couple of Lindsey's completed songs and make them band songs (Little Lies/The Chain) Done! Adding Chris back to the mix will put them back on the radio and sell a lot of discs.

This time last year I'd have said you were deluded. Now that Christine has surprised us this year in such a way that her 2004 project didn't, I'm not going to completely dismiss the suggestion that there might be another FM album featuring her. It's now more of a possibility than it was 12 months ago.
However, realistically, we know Lindsey wouldn't be keen. Am I wrong? Come on. He loves this 'new' sound and the fact that he's really the unchallenged musical driving force. I'm not being facetious or unkind. I know the Lindsey fans get their knickers in a twist at the sort if comment I've just made, but tell me he wouldn't have his nose put a little out of joint by having to re-calibrate his approach to accommodate the 'only person in Fleetwood Mac that he ever listened to'.
Plus, what label (and band) is going to allow Chris to contribute without committing to a tour? I think that whilst she has come far with her therapy and new outlook, she still wouldn't want to take a year out to go around the world, or even just the US. The RV thing would be cumbersome and it wouldn't, I don't think, calm the discomfort of a 70 year old who wants to be in her own bed every night.
I don't think at this point another world tour is needed. If they put out the album promoting the 5 of them back together. Perform on The Today show, Ellen and the Grammys and get the New "hit" on the radio featuring all thee voices will do it. A couple of select shows in addition will do the trick.

Then they'd be doing it for creative reasons only, because they wouldn't really make money off it. That's fine, but would it happen?
Thesedays, revenue principally comes from touring. Record sales don't bring a vast fortune in for the writer or performer, even at their level. Plus, John and Mick wouldn't make anything significant, as their income comes from live performance.
Then there's the advertising. As you point out, in order to sell anything, word needs to spread. You do the press stuff, all over the place, but that requires travel, which Chris might object to. Even then, you can't sell a record by a handful of TV spots.
Realistically, if you want to shift records, you need to get out there and play live.

IMO, at this point the ratio of Chris rejoining FM to a new Chris solo album is 50-50, but I'm still betting more on a solo album for the reasons you give. Though FM members contributing to her songs (we know Mick is helping out, who knows if the others do as well) is still not a far off possibility, and FM albums involving that lineup after Mirage are hijacked solo albums, so maybe this could be a plot twist in which Christine's album was the victim. But again, who knows?
You're right, Lindsey does enjoy this 'freedom' of not having Chris, aka the only one with the balls to stand up to him musically, and the only person in the band he listened to. But there's also the tiny possibility that he missed having someone to bounce ideas off of and get some right back. Things he couldn't really do with Stevie because she's not a musician, per se, or with Mick and John because they don't write.
With the RV thing, we know it's not realistic. Like her, I get major insomnia when I'm not in my own bed too, so I get her feelings about that, the homebodies we are.

Yeah, touring is The Mac's bread and butter. There's no going around it. And I don't think they're (meaning the other members) would be willing to sacrifice the cash cows.
Chris's willingness to perform live isn't much of a problem now, but I wonder how much travel and touring Chris is willing to do at this point. The fact that she said that she "would have to tour" indicates that she's willing to do at least some traveling, but to what extent, we don't know. Though she didn't say she's willing to fly around, so probably not a whole lot.

Yes, touring is the big money-maker, but I think people tend to overestimate its importance in selling new discs by veteran artists. Most albums by older acts sell most of their units to the die-hard fans during the first week of release; hence the album debuts high on the charts and then falls quickly. If the tour doesn't start for a couple of months, the album might not even be on the charts anymore. And when there is a lot of publicity in any form (concerts, TV, etc.) what really gets a boost is the older catalog, like Rumours or Greatest Hits.

C'mon now. If you were as wealthy as her, you could stay in the 5 star world class hotels. Heck you could even have your own bed shipped to each location if you're worried about how your back will react to the coils. You can even have each hotel room decorated to look like your own bedroom. The possibilities of comfort are endless when you've got the dough to back it up.

I think that she still might consider doing live shows in London, maybe some of the English regional venues, that sort of thing. Even then, as a solo artist I'm surprised she's considering touring. I recall in 1984 that she really had a problem being the principal focus of the audience's attention, and not just a part of the rhythm section, as she saw herself in FM.
A new Fleetwood Mac album with 12 new classic tracks by the 5. I see it happening.

Believe me, I was the first person to say she would never tour again. In fact, after "In The Meantime", I thought that was the last we'd ever hear from her.
If history has told us anything about this band, we might get one final who ha!
A solo album with other members quite possibly.

If Chris participated in new Mac album I wouldn't be thrilled unless she had her trademark 4 songs or more. At this stage, all the writers have a lot to bring and I would hate to see the potential for 10-12 Christine songs (a solo album) stifled by minimized band participation. She'd have to return as a full member on record.

I don't think Lindsey likes the new Fleetwood Mac sound particularly, because he's had to change his own style to fill the hole Christine's absence left in the group. Lindsey didn't even like having his own song, Did You Miss Me released as the first single on his solo album. He said that was the record company's idea.
I don't think he liked having to put out his Bleed to Love Her and Steal Your Heart Away again for SYW, but they were there to fill in for Christine, just like the title song was. he still had to "re-calibrate his approach" for Christine, even when she was not around, because he had to make sure that the album lived up to the pop sound the world expected from FM. If Christine herself is there, filling that niche, he can concentrate on other types of music that are more true to his own sense of creativity.
I really don't think it's a big deal for Lindsey to have Christine on an album. I think he minded not having her there for SYW. If he misses anything about just being a quartet, I think it would happen on stage, not on record, because he'd be performing fewer of his songs.
Overall, I think he's always been puzzled and even resentful of the way Christine cut off her ties and left the band so entirely. He even gave an interview this year where the interviewer said he sounded surprisingly agitated about that, about no one knowing why she had to sever things quite as much as she did. I think he'd like her back on a full album. I would also think he wouldn't want her on a tour and they could continue to be BN on stage and FM (all 5) on record, but it seems like he wants her to tour too, if she is going to record.

I agree with all of this. I think he's under the sentiment, "She's either in or out." If she wants to be part of the band, then be part of the band. That includes touring. Stop pretending that life is so hard traveling and having a manager, assistant, and what not. You had your break, now let's get to work. It would be so nice to see Buckingham/McVie working together again. They are kick ass.
Having said that, I'll take another solo album if that's what she wants to do.

How I see it happening is that she does the solo thing first while the rest of the band are probably taking a break from this year's tour (assuming that she has a good number of finished tracks by the end of this year), then she goes along and starts doing the new FM album. She's softening up her stance with touring as of late, so maybe, just maybe, she'll do it.

well, they'd have to wait at least THREE YEARS before touring again because "that's what we do".
I'm sure though that all the accountants and whatnot have it worked out just how many dates and seats they have to sell to break even-- pay everyone's guarantees, the private jets, hotels, salaries of all the employees, trucks, security guards, etc etc etc that they 'need' when they tour, let alone make a profit. It could well be that that size of a tour would be more than Chris would want (or has wanted anyway). Maybe the future will see she's up for it all again.
As for her complaining about touring (someone else posted about that) being away from home for a year or more I can see certainly being unappealing especially after having done it for decades. And FM and other bands have talked about how tedious and frankly boring it can be a lot of the time on the road. I just watched a Nirvana documentary where they talked about the grind of the road and every single day the jet lag and the never-ending interviews and obligations and never getting just a day, a lousy day, to sleep in and then do whatever the hell you want for a couple of hours. So I can see where Chris would just have had enough.

Certainly, no matter how rich you are, it can't match the comforts of home. Stevie said that they promised her everything before, they would even build her a kitchen. She didn't want it. You can have every luxury, but moving to a different location every two nights just isn't fun. It's no big deal when you're young and building up your millions, but once you have them and are 70 the benefits don't outweigh the cons.

and let's remember that Chris didn't seem all the thrilled with all the touring back before Stevie and Lindsey joined... the lyrics of Homeward Bound lay it out pretty clearly.
I want to sit at home in my rocking chair
I don't wanna travel the world
As far as I'm concerned I've had my share
Time's more precious than gold
I don't wanna see another aeroplane seat
Or another hotel room
Home life to me seems really neat
I just wanna run back for good.
Buy me a ticket homeward bound.....
It all seems the same when you've done it before
There's no difference in the style
There's no better sight than my own front door
I'll be a stay-at-home for awhile
And this was 1972. Now I grant you, the style in which they toured after Rumours was a helluva lot nicer than how they toured in 1972, but.... this just doesn't seem like a woman who loves the road.

^ THIS. I see her maybe doing a live show recorded for the BBC, much as David Gilmour did in 2006; it was broadcast on radio and online as a webcast. Granted, he then did a (small) tour afterwards, but it's a good way of spreading the word about a solo project.

I agree. Though I don't think it's much of a a fear of performing (though she does get stage fright too) as it was being tired of it. And of course, the logistics and all the drudgery that goes with it. She's getting back that enjoyment from performing this year, and it shows.

She said in that recent interview that what she thought she wanted for her life at home turned into something she really did not want for herself. After therapy I believe she has come to the conclusion that her destiny is touring and recording music. I believe all musicians will continue to perform as long as there is a paying audience, until the day they die.
Even before Stevie announced in the pre tour interviews that this was not the last FM tour, I was telling friend's the same thing when they'd ask me about that. When I was in my teens, 20's & 30's my current age seemed ancient but now that I am over(cough, cough) 50, I realize that age is just a number and that if one has good health they will be inclined to keep working. Working is good for the soul. Retirement is nice if you have a lot of hobbies.

I sometimes wonder how she would deal with the whole working thing while sober. Maybe the therapy and perhaps wherever she sought help to stop the drinking taught her some healthier coping mechanisms. Or perhaps turn her into another substance, like tea or coffee. (maybe she's given up smoking too. Hope so. *crosses fingers*)
She said in that recent interview that what she thought she wanted for her life at home turned into something she really did not want for herself. After therapy I believe she has come to the conclusion that her destiny is touring and recording music. I believe all musicians will continue to perform as long as there is a paying audience, until the day they die.
I agree that she probably realized this now. I'm surprised it took this long before she went stir crazy and started to seek the help she needed. Next thing we know, she would have several projects lined up for her for the next couple of years.
Chris has just had a 15 year vacation and to her it probably felt like 5 years. After age 40 you will watch your years fly by like a whip through the air.
And she's 70 years old. She must have known that time is short. Might as well make the most of it and do what she loves doing best.

See that's the thing I was trying to convey earlier. My mother is 86 and most people think she is in her 60's. She has more energy than God and has all her faculties. She drives like the maniac she always did and has a fully functional social life. She has never had the flu in her entire life. I've had the flu 3 times. She takes no medication as her health is perfect. We expect her to live to be 100, easily. So if 100 is my mom's time to go or Christine's time, what might Chris be doing to keep herself busy for the next 30 years? Time may not be short.

All of the Rumours 5 of them lived through their 60s and 70s despite drugs, alcohol, and whatever else comes with the rock and roll lifestyle, so who knows how much time?
...and going off-topic here, but I keep getting a mental image of Christine dressed as Sister Jude from AHS: Asylum for Halloween. I think she can pull it off.

I think it's a mistake to equate Christine's dislike/hatred of touring (i.e. travelling) with some sort of dislike/fear of performing. I've seen her in concert a handful of times, and watched plenty of FM/Christine clips, and it always looks like she's enjoying performing. I honestly think it's the grind of all that travel that she abhorred.
Another thing that baffles me is the idea that a "tour" would have to be a multi-continent, year-long slog. Plenty of bands do short tours. Three or four cities, a week on the road. Done. If it worked, three months later, do it again. Couldn't they abandon their delusions of grandeur and act like a normal group of five musicians? (Speaking of which, wouldn't it be sweet if they told the backing musicians and vocalists to go away, and did a show, just the five of them, but I suppose that's an impossibility.)

While I definitely agree that she clearly hated the grind of touring, she has also said in one of the ITM interviews that being onstage made her "feel a little dizzy under the lights", though probably not to the extent that the drudgery of touring and living out of a suitcase does.

Tell that to Mick. Actually I wish for even like four or five shows of just the five of them performing their hearts out.

I agree with applebucked here. There were several interviews circa 2004 in which she confessed to suffering from a form of stage fright. John mentioned in 2009 that she had let them know that she was uncomfortable 'on the boards' and 'under the lights'. She would presumably otherwise have joined them to do Don't Stop in London on the Say You Will tour when they broached the subject with her.
I think that if they wanted to they of course could do a short tour not travelling far, or they could take up the idea which Roger Waters had for the never-to-be Pink Floyd reunion in 2006 by having a couple of big shows in each of about five key cities around the world, spaced out and allowing time to settle at each venue for a while. However, I think they want the revenue from a big tour and they / their managers simply won't reduce the scale, probably for ego reasons as much as financial reasons. As much as LB often tries to do things for creative reasons, I get the impression that the Machine (i.e. the managers, the label(s) etc) will always say 'Go big, and go commercial'.

It's not called the Big Mac Machine for no reason. Their egos wouldn't be able to handle a short tour.

Pretty sure this article was before she announced her return to Fleetwood Mac. What I don't remember is reading details of that supposed new album, but I'm sure some songs ended up on BuckVie. Now the question is Do Christine's BuckVie songs sound like her 70s songs? With Lindsey's century XXI arrangements, I'd say no. But overall, they are not far from classical Christine's songs.

Yes, this was before the 2013/2014 announcement.

It would be so great to find some additional material knocking around somewhere….one or two extra tracks.
Yeah- I’d say her BM material could have sat alongside her 70’s songs, with the exception of Carnival Begin. And maybe Red Sun was a bit more aligned with her 80’s material. But the rest could have been pre-Rumours albums, with different production, obviously.

They could of been added to Songbird. But I think she sold all rights to her songs before Songbird so not sure she had any say what songs made that album. It was an odd collection that contained non of her solo hits or Can't Help Falling In Love. It did contain one lost recording with Todd Sharpe.
I am guessing but most of her BuckVie songs were probably slated for that album. They are damn good.

I remember before the rejoining announcement she did an interview where she slipped up and said she was working on new material and had sent demos to Lindsey, implying she’d said too much.

I remember that, too. She also said in one interview, "people I've sent them to, really like them."
And I thought, "who else?" haha

The answer to this question could be moot.
Did Christine have any unfinished or leftover songs from In the Meantime, Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie, or Songbird that could be finished and released?

There is a Rumour, that a BuckVie tune left was left on the cutting room floor! Let's hope it's true.
I'm sure there's a lot of other stuffs floating around out there. Time will tell.

I'm sure there are several alternate versions of BuckVie songs. I'd love to listening to them, it would be very moving to hear Christine's.
Songs that not were included in the album, pretty sure there are Lindsey's, probably Christine's too, I hope. It would be great if they included them in a deluxe edition, but I don't think there will be one, at least not for now.

My gut instinct says that the perfectionist in Lindsey wouldn't let us hear any B&M just yet. I hope I'm wrong

I'm not sure if the perfectionism would be the reason. I guess Lindsey was at his peak of perfectionist during Tusk, and years later he let us to hear 6 unreleased versions of IKINW and 5 of Tusk song, among other Stevie and Christine alt. versions. Rumours and Tusk expanded and deluxe editions were rich in demos, early and alternate versions, plus songs that didn't make the album. Mirage wasn't that rich but we got a good and varied bonus material. I wish they would have included more alternate versions. Same as Tango, where those dub and remix versions weren't as welcome as more alternative versions of the album's songs would have been.
Or is it that the albums of the 80s didn't have so many alternative versions because the mood was let's finish the album and everyone go home. That doesn't sound like Lindsey, but the '80s were complicated years, specially during Tango.
In any case, I'm sure that wasn't the atmosphere during the recording of BuckVie. It seems they Lindsey and Chris enjoy it. I hope there are unreleased songs and early/alternate versions so we can enjoy all we can of Christine's legacy, even better with Lindsey.

Not sure there’d be much in the way of left over tracks. Anything Lindsey didn’t use would probably have shown up later on solo. If there’d been any Christine, surely it would have been used for the purpose of balance. But who knows? Maybe.
Would love to hear alternates though. It would be nice to hear the original demos Christine sent to Lindsey. I wonder what a simpler, unadulterated version of Feel About You sounded like. I’m sure that marimba was Lindsey’s doing. At the time I thought it was interesting, with time I’ve increasingly wondered what it’d be like without it. Better I think.
And a less slushy version of Game of Pretend. Probably the weakest song on the album. But I think there’s a good song in there somewhere.
Not sure we’d get a deluxe version…just not enough money in it.
BUT….i wonder if there’s any chance of it being assumed into the FM canon and included in a post 1990 box set, in the vein of the 1969-74 box set?
Maybe???

Agree. Would love to hear what she sent him before he twiddled with them. Some would be better, some I'm sure were improved by him.

Unfortunately that's the truth. I couldn't find any sales info other than Wikipedia which just mentions 60,000 certified units of BuckVie in UK. The Behind The Mask page shows more info, 500k units in US, 300k in UK, 250k in Germany, etc. And we haven't had a deluxe BTM album.
Would it be a minimal cost if they released these deluxe albums only digitally (iTunes, Amazon mp3, etc.)? I guess so, but only a market research, a business case, etc. would support the idea that it might be worthwhile, or discard it. And I don't know if they're interested in doing that in the first place, cause that costs money too.

That’s why I think maybe box set. Individual albums wouldn’t sell much. But box them together at a decent price and there might be SOME interest. Like I say, they packaged 69-74 together- can’t be huge interest in that era. But thats cost effective to do, then why not 90+ (BM inclusive).
