It's 11 p.m. in London. Reports? Christine DID come back for tonight, yes?

Yes! Back again for Don't Stop. Twitter and text reports slowly trickling in...

Yesterday's Gone.

Tonight's show wasn't as good as Wednesday's, but it was still breathtaking.

It crushed me that Christine did not return for the final bow, but I guess I realize that no matter what the circumstances and what the year 1997 or 2013, I'll never be prepared to see her for the last time and the discovery that I probably have will always be a surprising and unwelcome one.

Stevie dedicated Landslide to Christine who was a mentor, best friend and big sister to her. Christine played so many roles in her life and inspired and taught her. She doesn't think Christine knows how much she's done for her and wants the song to go out to her on this third night in London.

Oh, World Turning was interminable. The seconds tick tocked away with inexorable slowness. Finally they brought out that keyboard and they feigned wonderment again, but not as pronounced as before. Mick and said he beheld black and white keys in a familiar place, but without further ado he introduced a precious lady who had meant so much to the band's history. England's own, their songbird, Christine McVie.

She came out smiling. To the front briefly, holding hands with Stevie, but hugs soon equally and liberally bestowed. She took her place. I have to say I really didn't pay much attention to how Don't Stop sounded. I looked at Christine. I looked at Lindsey on his side, singing into her face, smiling. Stevie's tambo, shaking merrily.

When it was over, John collected Christine, more hugs, a group bow. Then it was over.

After Say Goodbye, when John came out, I thought Christine would be with him like before, but it was not to be. They didn't mention her again, but they gave us memories fans won't ever forget.

I'll be posting pictures and a review of the rest of the show in the next hour.

Michele

Christine seemed to be dressed in the same clothes from Wednesday, because as a member of the FM army, that's the rule. Whether veteran or active soldier, you don't change your stage clothes during the tour.

Christine blew kisses back across the stage, because she knows what's what. I am not standing for it!

I remain jealous of Stevie's hair.

Yes, I watched her running her fingers through it before GDW started. She likes it to fall across her face at the end of that song and it creates a really nice effect, the careless curls cascading.

Love your pictures from the center vantage point, HejiraNYC.

Well, I don't know if the Macsters had been fighting about the same things we Ledgies have been fighting over the last 2 days, but things seemed to start off a little chilly onstage.

I wouldn't say Stevie and Lindsey avoided eye contact. But when one looked in the other's direction, the other was looking away. So, I didn't see them lock gazes until Sad Angel, when they turned to sing to one another.

I think there was a sound problem. I didn't notice it, but when it was time for John's Chain solo, he made a slashing sound across his instrument as if to say there was zero sound. There was a pause and then he started playing the solo and it sounded ok to me, but after the song was over he started pacing and I saw him mouth the word "F***."

Stevie's intro to Dreams was rather sedate and simple. She said the tour had been a great experience and got to the party starting in short order.

Around this time, the speaker next to me started blasting music. I hadn't missed it when it wasn't there, but when it began it was pounding. I don't know if this means the sound problems on stage were over, but I didn't see John gesture to the techs any more.

During Lindsey's Sad Angel speech John and Stevie usually talk or smile, but tonight they faced each other, but both studiously stared only into the space in front of them, Stevie sipping her tea. No interaction, but by the time we swung into GDW later in the night they were bowing to each other and tipping their hats and smiling again. During World Turning I saw their eyes gleaming at each other and I imagined it was because they were anticipating Christine's momentary appearance.

Wow, Rhiannon! Stevie really changed some of the words around on this song, catching me by surprise as I tried to keep up singing along. She was throwing in extra or repeat phrases and ended with still cries, still cries out for her, don't leave me.

At the end of Sisters of the Moon, I see Stevie's lips turn in a smile and I know she's about to say the year. Oh yes. This is a battle of wills between her and us. She says that the experts tell her that they haven't done that song since 1980.

During Sara, when Stevie sings "undoing the laces" she's smiling and almost seems to be listening to the audience sing like she does during Landslide. She seems to get pleasure out of hearing the arena say "aaaaah" in between the "Saras". When she crosses to Lindsey's mic, he lets his nose briefly touch the velvet of her shoulder.

She turns and embraces him and her face is first sad, but then there's a smile, maybe a mournful one. They rock together. She taps his leather jacket rhythmically with one finger, before pulling back and floating away.

For the Big Love intro Lindsey says he's certainly told this story before. Oh really?? Is he keeping track of every story that he repeats now? That's a Herculean task.

For Landslide Stevie says she wants to dedicate the song to Christine, on their third night in London. Christine has played so many different roles to her, mentor, best friend, big sister. She inspired Stevie and helped mold her. She doesn't think Chris knows how much Christine helped her to be what she is here today. She says that Christine is out there somewhere tonight [Well, she better be backstage preparing to come on soon, rather than just "out there somewhere"].

For the Without You story Stevie says she wrote this poem and didn't put it to music. She probably put it in her pocket and then on the bedroom nightstand. When she and Lindsey came to Los Angeles, they had 12 songs and this poem. They made it into a demo and their demos were really, really great she says. She insists that she's not being conceited, they just really were that good. She says how she told the story about Mick telling her that she and Lindsey sang in counterpoint to the music and created this pyramid and that's one of the things -- or maybe Mick even said THE thing that drew him to them.

She concedes that Mick always did have a good ear and good judgment. So, she told this story about what Mick said attracted to him and then three weeks in Lindsey said, that's not what attracted Mick. Mick was attracted to me. Mick was attracted to Lindsey and not some cleaning woman. The audience boos at Lindsey. Stevie clarifies that Lindsey didn't say the part about her being a cleaning woman. That's what she said to herself when she thought she was screwed. Anyway, this caused her to say "hmmm" and she corrected her story.

She tells Mick that he owes her for this. She says he owes her a lot of money. He should buy her a new coat. A Ralph Lauren coat.

She talks about finding the song on Youtube and she didn't know whether to be happy or not happy it was there. She makes an "ack" sound at the back of her throat when she describes Youtube.

She doesn't ask Lindsey to jump into the story, nor does he do so spontaneously. Instead, she just thanks Lindsey, Mick and "Johnny" and she also thanks Christine, because Christine could have said, no, not another girl in the band.

At the end of Gypsy she goes over to Mick's small drum kit and they are playful with one another, grinning, pointing, touching fingers.

Finally, we get to the end of the World Turning introductions. Both Wednesday and tonight a security guard comes and stands at the stage. He says he has to watch it closely for the encores. Clearly he is there for Christine's entrance and I'm glad she's being protected, but how come the guy just materializes for her. Wasn't he afraid of the other Macsters being kidnapped too? Of course, if you know them, I suppose you know that if kidnapped, their captors would bring them back in about a day, because they're that maddening!

Christine's out and it's over so fast. Tour program, 15 pounds. Concert ticket, 120 pounds. Hearing Christine sing the iconic tune she created with her bandmates one last time: priceless.

At the end when Stevie comes out for her Dreamcatcher speech. She describes what a dream catcher is, how it looks, how it catches dreams, at least it does for her. Then, she realized that the FANS were the dream catchers; she says that we've been giving the dreams back for 35 years and it doesn't matter if there are 5 members of the band, four members, three members, two members or just her, we always give back. [Well, hold on a minute. There have never been three members of the band yet. Is someone leaving? Do I get to vote who goes?].

Mick closes the show. What an odyssey and I can't believe it's over. Well, just for me. For you lucky ones in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the ride continues.

Michele

Thank you. With the overhead stage lights, it's hard not to get a lot of blinding white in the photos. That makes it fun to get home, load them up and see what shots came out and which ones totally didn't.

She tells Mick that he owes her for this. She says he owes her a lot of money. He should buy her a new coat. A Ralph Lauren coat.
Hell, he gave her the trouser snake. Shouldn't they be even by now?

[Well, hold on a minute. There have never been three members of the band yet. Is someone leaving? Do I get to vote who goes?].
I'm sure there were a few songs before Jeremy came in that were done as a three piece. Okay, not exactly the same thing, but still...As for who to vote out, anybody but John. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, better mess with McVie!

Erin your pictures are beautiful too.:nod:
Even thought I defended Lindsey yesterday, I really am sad to see Chris go. She adds so much to the band, and when she's gone she's sorely missed.

That being said I can see what you mean about the tension on stage. It's obvious in the pictures too.

John seems to be unhappy with Lindsey. Chris looks a little miffed at him too.

Stevie seems sad that Chris is not staying, but also seems to be goofing around a little to try and ease the tension between John, Chris and Lindsey.

Mick is ignoring the band's undercurrent (sure he's use to that by now, you know "on with the show").

Lindsey doesn't seem mad at anyone, and at times seems genuinely sad (I guess because Chis is not staying?). He also seems to be trying to make nice with Chris, which Chris seems to be willing to do too. Also, I am not sure what he and Chris were talking about at the end, but (IMO) whatever it was does not appear to make him very happy and that maybe why Chris chose not to come back out for the final bow at the end.

Oh, and not trying to start anything but in one pic it looks like John maybe checking Chris's butt out, which I think is kinda funny.

I only hope now that Chris has played with the band once again that she will develop those warm and fuzzy feelings again when she get's back home and will want to be on stage again so badly that she will decide to somehow try and overcome her fear of flying or at least try to manage it enough so she can once again record and tour with the band.

   have you read Michele's review? what she was saying is exactly the opposite from your conclusions. she was saying that Stevie seemed to have been in the doghouse with the rest of the band, and was wondering whether that was because macters were fighting about that interview we were discussing here.

Yes, we will have to wait until the fluid videos start rolling in and then everyone can form their own analysis.

From my perspective, Stevie and John and Stevie and Lindsey seemed to have tension. Stevie and John's frigidity resolved itself and they were smiling and teasing each other by Gold Dust Woman.

John and Lindsey didn't seem to have a problem, one way or another. Didn't see anything warm happen between them, but nothing bad either.

Mick and Stevie were acting happy and frisky with one another as were Mick and John and Mick and Lindsey. In other words, Mick's relationship with everyone seemed loving and normal.

Christine and Lindsey were extremely kind to one another. In my mind, I think each was going out of his/her way for the other. Stevie and Christine were loving. Christine and John were loving and I think Christine deliberately took a little extra time with John tonight than she did on Wednesday.

I know she did a great job.:nod: I think she does some of her best singing when she's upset with Lindsey (and I think she's upset with him about the Christine issue, she was so happy Chris was on stage with them she was glowing) I puts passion/feeling back into her voice and when she pushes herself she still has a beautiful voice.

Why not stay in Christine's house in Kent? She has a studio (probably not enough to do the entire album there but enough to cut some basic tracks, at least), there isn't a lack of space, and Chris is an amazing cook, so they won't necessarily starve. If not, I don't know how big her London flat is, but I imagine it's big enough to accommodate 4 other people if they choose to record in London.

I have a phone with the burst feature, which HTC calls Zoe, but I wasn't using it, because I don't know if those phone pictures are any good. I think the phone I did use has that feature, but I didn't use that either. I just kept pushing the button. But I am always standing next to people who are getting better shots than me. Yeah, it's impossible to know what they were mad about. It might have nothing to do with the article or Christine. I just know John was mad and he got over it. Stevie was avoiding John too, but then she stopped after about 15 or 20 minutes. Later on, there was a guy who kept yelling to John from the audience and Stevie acknowledged him and pointed to John and John made a "get out of here" hand gesture and then she and John were pals from then on out.

With Lindsey Stevie was just ... she wasn't giving him her angry death stare. She was more giving him the, "I'm dying of consumption and I haven't the strength to interact with you" sad face more than anything else. Oh, kiss my hand, if you will stranger and I will politely respond. She was quiet and not spunky with him. But with Mick she was her same old, playful self.

Now it's true she may also have been sad about saying goodbye to Chris. The way she looked during SOTM I would have taken bets that she would be crying by the end of the show. She surprised me. So, she definitely looked sad, but she was also not too sad to josh with Mick as usual.

Fleetwood Mac, London O2 Arena, September 27, 2013

Read more at http://www.uncut.co.uk/blog/the-view-from-here/fleetwood-mac-london-o2-arena-september-27-2013#SOu7IqVqRkKJD8mP.99

“Life is good,” reflects Mick Fleetwood. We are over two hours into Fleetwood Mac’s third and final show at the O2, and it has fallen to Fleetwood to introduce his fellow bandmates on stage.

While Fleetwood was talking for the most part about the enduring friendships that exist between the various members of Fleetwood Mac, he could just as easily be surveying the last, remarkable 12 months in the band’s career. This sprawling world tour has been a tremendous success – “We’re doing the best business we’ve done in 20 years,” Lindsey Buckingham recently told Rolling Stone. The 35th anniversary of Rumours earlier this year provided a useful reminder of the band's most successful and notorious period, while the Extended Play EP showcased a clutch of new songs that seem redolent of the Rumours-era sound. Elsewhere, there are the broader cultural threads that have pillowed Fleetwood Mac’s 2013 – the revival of the soft rock aesthetic, and the kind of West Coast vibes evoked on Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories and Haim’s Days Are Gone.

But in many respects Fleetwood Mac are actually a more interesting proposition away from the Rumours material. The reissue a few months ago of the band’s 1969 album, Then Play On was a terrific reminder of the magical guitar interplay between Peter Green and Danny Kirwan. Indeed, while it’s nice enough to watch Christine McVie join her old band for “Don’t Stop”, it would have been more remarkable if Green had strolled on stage to play “The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Prong Crown)”. Tonight, the band’s decision to foreground songs from Tusk is sort-of brave – a great chunk of the audience seem bewildered by this – while the weird tensions between Buckingham's songs and Nicks' is actually quite compelling. To some extent, Buckingham and Nicks might as well be in different bands. Buckingham (who, I should point out, plays without a plectrum) seems to think he’s in some early 80s New Wave band for great chunks of the set, throwing punk rock shapes or shredding; at one point, during the extended coda for "I'm So Afraid", he seems to think he's in the middle of some wonderful, digressive Crazy Horse jam. His introduction to the Tusk section of the show involves a lecture in the merits of art against commerce; he clearly still has an almost neurotic attachment to that particular material, as his need to explain – or, perhaps, defend – it suggests. Later, his acoustic treatment of “Big Love” displays his extraordinary fretwork skills (incidentally, those solo albums are amazing). He and Nicks are gracious with each other – if, say, she’s singing a song, she’ll step back a little from the mic to let him play a solo – it’s slightly formal, a little awkward, you might say. Nicks, meanwhile, doesn’t entirely seem comfortable during the faster Buckingham numbers – she totters visibly during “Not That Funny”. Sounding a little like Edie Falco in The Sopranos when she speaks, and dressed as if she’s going for dinner with Big Edie and Little Edie at Grey Gardens, she seems clearly more comfortable with the soft focus Laurel Canyon Goth of “Rhiannon” and “Gypsy” than Buckingham’s angrier compositions. Her attempt to explain the provenance of the Extended Play track “Without You”, originally written by Nicks in the early Seventies, lasts longer than the song itself.

Behind them, but in their own ways no less interesting, are Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Fleetwood himself is an engaging figure, a drumming Gandalf, surrounded by his kit, a giant Zildjian cymbal behind him, windchimes within easy reach. Fleetwood comes from a generation of idiosyncratic drummers – Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon – and inevitably there are moments here, like “Tusk” or the mammoth solo on “World Turning”, where he gets to show us what he can do. Next to Fleetwood, on his right, stands John McVie: these days, arguably the most interesting member of Fleetwood Mac. I find McVie fascinating; in a band full of personalities, he stands out, partly because he has less of a public voice that his colleagues, but partly because he is an excellent musician whose contribution often feels critically overlooked in the Mac narrative. It would be reductive, I think, to see McVie as just the staunch backline, the anchor for Buckingham and Nicks’ very different creative impulses. Certainly, McVie’s ability to serve a song discretely and sympathetically is what is required of a skilled, high-level bass player of his standard. But in truth, McVie’s story stretches right back to the early days of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers – he played alongside Clapton and Mick Taylor, and presumably knows where the bodies are buried. Watching him tonight, though, he is a man who appears happiest when diligently going about his business. There’s something of the Charlie Watts about John McVie in that respect – both professionals, untroubled or uninterested in the spotlight, who came from a tradition where straightforward craftsmanship is highly valued. There is one moment, though, where, quietly and seemingly unbidden, McVie goes to help his ex-wife off the stage at the end of “Don’t Stop”; it’s a gallant gesture and one that you hope says much about the kind of man McVie might be.

At two hours 40 minutes, the show could do with pruning. While giving the audience value for their money is commendable, the pool of material from which the band draw is limited - in this case, to five albums. You wonder what kind of setlist they could put together if only they'd go back further. As it is, the first hour or so – roughly up until “Landslide” – is well paced and the song choice seems thought out. It stutters then – a mighty “Gold Dust Woman” a notable exception – until “Go Your Own Way” and the first encore. The arrival of Christine McVie – Fleetwood Mac’s “Mick Taylor moment” – is understandably met with the largest cheer of the night. But as with Mick Taylor’s guest appearances with the Rolling Stones this year, her arrival reminds you of how significant her contribution was, and her departure seems cruelly premature.

As someone who is admittedly mildly indifferent to Rumours, I can't help wondering whether Fleetwood and McVie would consider going out on a smaller scale than this, to present an alternative iteration of Fleetwood Mac, celebrating Future Games, Bare Trees and all the other great and interesting Fleetwood Mac albums that have slipped between the cracks. It's a nice dream, isn't it?

I agree with the sentiment that they should've gone further back in terms to catalogue. Lindsey would do well with Kirwan/Welch-era material (with Stevie singing backup), plus maybe some Peter Green tunes. They did well with Green Manalishi and Hypnotized way back.

I can't really see John giving a flying f**k about that interview. And even if we aren't reading way more into Stevie's interview than we should be, I think Mick's Playboy interview was far worse.

Also, do you remember the Rock Family Trees interview? It was John who complained about all the negative press Stevie was doing back then and said that she is saying all of her time with FM was bad and that she was telling a bunch of lies. Clearly, he cared about interviews.

This Mojo thing is not important to him, but I can easily believe that any behavior or climate that does anything to sour what should be just a joyous reunion with Christine would upset him quite a bit.

10 years ago, Christine didn't name names, but she said some people were mad about her leaving and that she kept in touch with Stevie and Mick (at that time) occasionally, so I took it that John and Lindsey were the ones who were mad. Later she obviously made up with John and said that they exchange recipes, gardening tips, etc. Who would want to take a step backwards from that? I don't think he wants her to be in the middle of band politics that can distance people again and create bitterness that may never be reconciled, considering that they are aging and time is short.

John may not even know about the Mojo blurb, but he does know what's going on behind the scenes with the band (which may include the same subject matter as the Mojo comments) and maybe those going-ons have not been smooth these last days. Michele

And no matter who spoke up, John, Lindsey or Christine herself, I think Stevie was much more mindful of not crowding Christine on Friday, following the way Wednesday's appearance played out. Stevie was definitely standing back a little and letting it be more of a group thing than it had been on Friday. Very egalitarian.

It also tickled me when they went to take the group bow and Lindsey reached for Stevie's hand and she used her left hand to hold Christine's hand instead of giving it to him.

I disagree with that sentiment.
They have plenty of songs from
the albums of the 5 to choose
from.

If they do half-hearted versions of
their songs, why would they do any
better with songs they didn't have
anything to do with?

I imagine Peter Green's songs were
pretty much done because they didn't
have enough material of their own to
pick from at the time.

How I'd love to pick their setlist.

Without Christine, around 1/3 of that catalog is out (save for a few), but yeah it's still a sizeable list. Couldn't hurt to do a couple of previous lineup tunes, especially in places where those lineups have a sizeable following in.

I guess I'm thinking "if I were Lindsey" I wouldn't have
any interest in doing someone else's songs. Especially
Fleetwood Mac songs that had nothing to do with him
or Stevie.

Well that's a possibility....there could be huge drama behind the scenes. I just don't think Mojo is on his radar, and if it is, he likely only knows of the blurb, not the whole interview, and I just don't think that little excerpt is so blasphemous.....though perhaps Mojo tried to make it that way.

Unlike us, John is in a position to get the whole article or hear about what the whole article contains, if the Mojo blurb interested him at all.

As far as the Playboy article goes, John probably was on Mick's side. So, he's not likely to be upset about that. I don't even think Stevie was upset. She doesn't get mad at Mick really. I mean, she did over Silver Springs, but I don't think she does any more.

Regarding Christine, he did say 10 years ago that if she returned and was going to be sad like she was for the Dance tour, then she really shouldn't be there. And I got the feeling that he was kind of hurt that she was sad, rather than just concerned about her feelings. He took it personally that she was no longer happy in the band.

I'm not sure where he might stand on the question of her doing just one song, but I would be inclined to think he'd want her to do whatever she wanted during the cameo. However, what he might mind is a public airing of dirty laundry that might have hurt someone's feelings. Christine may have been ok with being told, "Hey you can't come to Thanksgiving dinner, but you can drop by later for dessert," but maybe it might make her feel awkward to have the world hear that.

But those guys get mad about things we don't even know about. Like Cory wrote once that Lindsey was late getting to a plane or something, because he always fools around talking to people, when it's time to go. So, John paid Lindsey back by being late himself the next time they had to do something. When they give each other a taste of their own medicine, we really are in no position to know what the original medicine was at all.

Stevie dedicated Landslide to Christine who was a mentor, best friend and big sister to her. Christine played so many roles in her life and inspired and taught her. She doesn't think Christine knows how much she's done for her and wants the song to go out to her on this third night in London.

and lol re the same clothes / FM soldier comment.

I was thinking of an old interview where Stevie was describing the way they all dress and she said, for that particular time, Lindsey had two Armani suits, one was gray and one was white and I thought that even THAT much variation would be a help to us now, if Lindsey had 2 different outfits for the tour, instead of one. It would go a long way in kind of distinguishing different photographs, especially for those times when they have multiple shows in the same city.

What Culture, 4 stars by George Meixner, September 30, 2013

http://whatculture.com/music/fleetwood-mac-at-the-o2-live-review.php

It was Buckingham’s Palace on Friday night at The O2…

My tickets were booked 228 days before the gig. The first two shows having sold out within 10 minutes, it was lucky that an extra date was released that afternoon. These O2 gigs were highly sought-after and it was a privilege to be there. The question that loomed for all concerned was how well could they perform together 36 years after the release of their iconic Rumours album. The 2013/14 world tour coincided with a spate of band reunions. The Rolling Stones headlining that list, with mixed, but generally favourable reviews, most notably at this year’s Glastonbury. Would the FM band be a landslide success? Oh yes.

After a 20 minute delay, the band played in excess of two and a half hours including two encores, running right up to the 11pm curfew imposed by the venue.

The atmosphere was relatively muted for the opening number Second Hand News but the 15,000 strong audience soon warmed up to the opening riff of The Chain, which soon followed.

Lindsey Buckingham stole the vast majority of the limelight with an awesome all-round solo contribution on Big Love, which received one of many of the standing ovations across the night. As well as his excellent distinctive vocals, still powerful and nimble despite the passing of the years, stunning guitar solos were not in short-supply either and at one point I caught myself with my mouth hanging open.

Buckingham and Stevie Nicks often provided stories or explanations behind their songs. Nicks described the possible motivations for the rest of the band in take them in to the Fleetwood fold suggesting it was the way the vocalists formed triangular harmonies but thought the whole time Lindsey was thinking ‘well actually they really need a new lead guitarist, not sure why they need a cleaning lady’. They also had a quick kiss onstage quite early on, this was welcomed by whistles and cat-calls from the fans.

That ‘cleaning lady’ also maintained her superb vocals. While singing in a lower register than the Golden Years (which often threw me on the openings some of their most famous tracks) it meant that many songs had obviously been specially rearranged or redesigned. This was refreshing and made it more appealing as a live event. Nicks also sang a poem of hers that she had repeatedly lost and found, but which finally made it to the North Greenwich stage.

Go Your Own Way rocked the house as everyone clapped and chanted along to the classic chorus. The arena lights went up for this song and you could see all the fellow audience members which fed the collective enthusiasm and euphoria back into the crowd’s response.

A special word here for Mick Fleetwood on drums. Following World Turning he launched into a crazed off-the wall solo performance, playing up to the crowd for what felt like 10 minutes. Again, I was rather mesmerised so perhaps someone will know how long it actually was… He spent much of it not looking at his drums and shouting into the camera over his shoulder which projected his mad-eyed thrash onto the large screen backing the stage.

The wonderful Christine McVie made a special appearance for two encores. She rejoined the band on-stage for a crowd-pleasing Don’t Stop performance in the first, with an angelic rendition of Silver Springs and a final Sad Goodbye to end the second and close the night out. These were beautiful and showcased her part in Fleetwood Mac perfectly, but left a small part of me lamenting the absence of Little Lies and Everywhere, two of her other signature tunes.

The quality of the arena’s sound system was very high. This was the third date at the former Millennium Dome, therefore it may have benefited from some tweaks discovered in previous nights. The lighting and use of the big screens was inventive… artful (an eclipse of the sun doubling as an eye’s pupil and iris was a personal highlight) and interesting backgrounds (Windows screensaver-esque, think kaleidoscopes and symmetrical phasing patterns) were mixed in with extra large close ups of individual performers. The best use shown by a monotone, isolated shot of Lindsey Buckingham through Big Love allowing even those at the back see the hand-speed involved in his guitar master-class.
