Thank you Dee. I was able to watch this here and my favorite part was learning how AJ Nicks supported himself by being an amazing Pool Shark.

So, it's a wonder that Stevie doesn't tell us she's an expert pool player too. She learned to twirl the baton from her mom. Didn't her grandpa teach her any 8 ball tricks?

You're welcome! Thanks for letting me know it wasn't working. :)

I thought that was a great story!

So, her dad basically grew up without his father. That's something I didn't know.

So, there were 3 boys. I wonder if Jess was oldest, middle or youngest.

If the site I just checked was correct, Jess was middle. Bill was oldest and Gene was youngest.

I was thinking when you asked that, I bet Bill was oldest. The responsibility must have fell on his shoulders.

Thanks. Yeah, I was wondering which of them was likely to be hit the hardest by a sense of abandonment. It sometimes differs depending on where the child falls in the family, because that colors what their expectations are. Michele

That's true. Barbara and Jess must have had similar backgrounds, although I think Barb's was harder.

Jess' should have been hard too. I don't know how his dad could have supported a family of five with pool hustling and occasional singing.

Of course, I don't know how Stevie singlehandedly supported herself, Lindsey AND Richard on her waitress' salary either. Those Nickses really know how to stretch a dollar.

 Yeah, they do!

Maybe they had no more Hamburger Helper because of Richard...

Michele - LOL @ Stevie on the Robert Elms show:

"We - Lindsey and I - when we moved to Los Angeles we couldn't really make a living either and that was in 1972. But, I could make a living so I went out and became like a waitress and I made good money and I was able to support Stevie, Lindsey and Richard Dashut for 3 years before we joined Fleetwood Mac. Because I didn't expect Lindsey or Richard to go out and become waiters, because that's not gonna happen…there was really nothing those boys could do. So, I was fine to go out and work."
