Awesome thanks ...when is it on? [I'll check the thread]
@DoubtfulMiracle: yes it is a rather tawdry news program at times. Not exactly cutting edge journalism, maybe just a small step up from A Current Affair, and Today Tonight.

Is Sunday Night the program that publicly broadcast a young girl's struggle with not being able to identify with her original male gender? Or was that 60 Minutes? That was the lowest of lows in Australian journalism. Not the content of the story mind you, just the sheer audacity to let millions of Australians on this girl's plight so that now people who would have just thought she is and was born a girl, do a double take. Could lead to bullying now even more people than before know the full story. And the funny thing is, if her parents are fine with it, then why on Earth did they feel the need to publicly broadcast the story? Is it good old moolah?

Newsflash "Fleetwood Mac" changed its name to Buckingham Nicks 15 years ago when Christine retired, and Stevie and Lindsey wanted to continue touring as a duo, but needed a rhythm section. You didn't get the memo?

i was wondering the same thing... i thought she looked good in that preview, but weight or looking thin or not never occurred to me when i watched it.

maybe it's b/c of history and having past trouble of being overweight plus that messing with her image in the 80s that people still look at her weight now?

just watched sunday night here in australia on channel 7!

rahni sadler did a great job i reckon interviewing stevie and mick one-on-one, and lindsey (backstage)

some highlights
-stevie and mick's affair started in AUSTRALIA
-pro-shot live footage from the last american concert in sacramento
-footage of stevie and lindsey fighting from the"destiny rules" dvd
-actual discussion about the "tusk" record/era
-stevie talking about her mother barbara, her message that no one should take their mothers for granted and barbara's passing leading to stevie and lindsey making up properly
-rahni sadler remarking that the band is more popular than ever, selling out all their american concerts

I didn't like that comment Mick made about how they're really popular now, and have become more so lately, coz they're gonna die or something ... nooooooooooo never :(

The interview can be watched here: http://au.news.yahoo.com/sunday-night/video/watch/18455408/return-of-the-mac/

Lots of what we know, I thought the old and new footage we used quite well, and...

Have some quotes that I took down after watching it the second time (not fast enough to transcribe whilst watching live):

IN: How does it feel when you walk out on stage and everyone is going nuts and stomping the ground and you're walking out hand in hand with Lindsey?
SN: I feel like I did when I first met him and started to sing with him. Because I knew. I knew that Lindsey and Stevie were going places.

SN: It is in many ways one of the greatest love stories ever told. It's one of those great romances of the century... It's a relationship that spans centuries and has come out on top.

VO: For thirty years, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks played together but barely spoke.
SN: We both tried to kill each other.
VO: Now they're back.
SN: It reminds me of the seventies. It reminds me of the early days when we first started out.

VO: It's 46 years since Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham met in high school.
IN: You remember what made you fall in love with Lindsey? What characteristics?
SN: Really? It just happened. And I guess I just, you know, really appreciated his amazing talent. And of course not to mention he was drop dead gorgeous.

VO: When Lindsey went to play in another band, Stevie thought about leaving him. The time apart inspired one of her most famous song. <Landslide plays>
SN: When I took my love, I took it down, like off the mantle to really study what was going on and what had happened between Lindsey me since 1966 when we met. I decided that I would not break up the relationship with Lindsey.
IN: And the rest is history.
SN: And the rest is history. And to be continued.

SN: Lindsey said, "Well, she's coming too so either you take both of us or I can't join your band."

IN: How difficult was the break-up for you?
SN: Well, it wasn't difficult for me. Because I wanted it to be over?
IN: Why?
SN: Because we weren't happy and we can't be together anymore and we can't break up the band over it.

IN: So when you guys were looking at each other with, to me, it kind of looks like you want to kill each other is -
SN: Well, we kind of do.
IN: So when we saw you kind of bellowing at each other with what looks like hatred, that was real?
SN: Absolutely, absolutely.

IN: What was it like backstage?
SN: Nothing
IN: You just would not communicate? Wouldn't go near each other? Certainly wouldn't hold hands as you walk to the stage?
SN: *shaking head* Separate dressing rooms, separate cars...
IN: How do you do that?
SN: You sit on one end of the plane; he sits on the other end of the plane.
IN: For how many years was it like that then?
SN: Forever
IN: Since 1976?
SN: Pretty much.

SN: That [cocaine fuelled years] was a very hard time for my parents.
IN: Did your Mom, do you think, when you were at your worst with cocaine, do you think she thought you weren't going to survive?
SN: Yeah, I think she thought, cos I stopped communicating. Because I didn't want to make them sad but I also didn't want to stop doing drugs. So I stopped calling and they wouldn't hear from me for a long time. And I think they thought they were going to lose me.

IN: I want to ask you about your relationship with Mick. Would that have even happened if there weren't so many drugs involved?
SN: Probably not. That was really kind of an accident.

IN: But you have brought everyone back together when everyone's gone their separate ways.
MF: Yes, I've been blamed for keeping it all together. As of the last few years or so, I really had to take a look at not being that person with the whip, you know, and "we've got to do this" and just, it became inappropriate for me to continually push, push, push. So I had to let go of that.

IN: Is it fair to say that the band is all getting along better now than it has in years?
MF: Yeah, it really is.... I mean those two people walking out on stage, Stevie and Lindsey, they were partners when they were 16 years old.
IN: When you met them then, they were very much in love, weren't they?
MF: Oh, yes, of course.

VO: Lindsey got married in 2000 and has three children. Stevie is happily single. She travels with two four legged companions.
IN: Could it be said that, if it wasn't for Fleetwood Mac, you guys might never have broken up?
SN: It's possible that we might've stayed together.
IN: Gotten married?
SN: Very possible.
IN: Had kids?
SN: Had kids. But, you know, destiny intervenes.
IN: Do you ever wish that's what happened?
SN: No, because I never go against destiny.

IN: I want to ask you about you mom. I know she was very, very special to you and I know that she passed just -
SN: Yeah, not long ago.
IN: Without her, would you have been able to do what you're doing now?
SN: No. I am alone in this world without her. Do I miss having a boyfriend or a man in my life? No. Do I miss my mother? I miss her so much that it makes me nauseous. Because there's nobody who can fill that void. There is nobody that can take her place. And there is nobody who can pull me back into sanity like she was able to do. And so what I tell people is "don't ever take your mother for granted cos she could be gone tomorrow". She left a lot of stuff, a lot of scrapbooks and writings and a suitcase that I have yet to open. It's been almost two years, I guess. I'm just not ready.

VO: The loss put a lot of things in perspective. Especially her relationship with Lindsey. Stevie decided that after 36 years, it was time to make peace.
SN: My mom always said to me too, you know, "it's really easy to say you're sorry." Just walk up to someone and say "I'm really sorry. Honestly, I'm really sorry." And that's it. That's all you have to say. And that's something we don't say very much.
IN: Both of you needed to apologise to each other?
SN: *nods*
IN: And now you have?
SN: Mm-hmm. *nods*
IN: And it's changed everything.
SN: It's changed everything. And so for the better.
IN: What was his response?
SN: His response was good. His response was, more or less, "I wish you'd told me all this a long time ago" and so then you're like "Well, you know, I didn't take the time to sit down and explain to you why I wasn't happy. Because I thought you knew. And you didn't. You didn't know."
IN: Do you wish you'd had that chat then. (?)
SN: Yeah, I wish I do, I certainly do. It certainly would've made the last thirty years easier. Yeah. It's sure a lot more fun this way.

SN: Sometimes I see the boy I first met when he was sixteen and I haven't seen him since we first joined Fleetwood Mac.

Thanks for posting. Great to have new quotes, but it gets so tiring. The same thing, different year. Have said basically the same thing since 1997. They fight, they make up, but always make it about 1976. Bull.

"SN: Sometimes I see the boy I first met when he was sixteen and I haven't seen him since we first joined Fleetwood Mac." -- She said this in 2003 too.

I did appreciate the Landslide info. I always thought she was really upset, mad, threatened by him going on the Everly tour without her which explains why Crystal Zevon said she "followed" him to Aspen. :D. Of course, that means she wasn't necessarily going there to break up with him but more like trying to remind him he had a girlfriend. And she also has said they got into a huge fight there because Lindsey was really angry with her "about something."

Oh and also, Jess Nicks died in 2005 and Lindsey was there, played Landslide at his memorial. She didn't have this same revelation of reconciliation then? Or in 1999 when Lindsey's mom passed? Smh...

Thank you for posting this video link. I really enjoyed all the unreleased video tid bits. The part with Stevie playing Rhiannon on the piano and all the segments about Barbara Nicks. I had tears in my eyes thru the whole thing because I am just so overwhelmed that an entity that was so powerful when I was a teenager still has the same affect on me in my 50's.

I absolutely loved watching this, especially the more intimate clips we never see - the backstage stuff, like the SUV arriving and Lindsey getting out, and the clip showing Stevie's traveling dogs.

Sure, we've heard it all before, but it's refreshing to see them in good shape, personally and physically. Stevie is still stunningly beautiful, and seems more down to earth than she's ever been, but retains her quirky self.

I was happy to hear her say that it isn't over yet. This gives me hope that they will make another album. I think this recent tour has really reinvigorated them. I was so happy to see them perform such a stellar show. I really like how they walked out on a fully lighted stage at the start of the show and greeted the audience. That's pretty unusual, but was very personal gesture, making the audience relate to them like old friends.

The crisp HD video is just killing me. I'm so depressed. Why is everything online and nothing on DVD?

Stevie saying she would not have admitted that the cocaine changed her voice in the past reminded me of an article from 1980 that a Ledgie contributed. I think Stevie's indignant comments are pretty funny. But it's hilarious that people have actually been accusing her voice of degrading for more than 30 years now.

http://bla.fleetwoodmac.net/index.php?page=index_v2&id=8532&c=18

Q: Stevie, would you care to comment on the rumors that your voice is not as strong as It used to be.

Stevie: It's wonderful to read that your voice is disintegrating. I would like to comment on that, actually. If you care to take the time to read the reviews from the last shows that we've done you might notice that I am. as my mother says to me, 'singing like a little bird'. And because I'm taking real good care of myself, my voice is not disintegrating. When I die, 'disintegration' will be one of the words that'll pass in front of me. I think it's very cruel for people to say 'disintegration' It's like, well, God, might as well just give up. Does anybody have any faith in me at all? My voice is fine.

What answers could be in the suitcase? Barbara's suitcase is like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction.

Four generations? A generation is not a decade. I think a generation is how long it takes to grow up and have kids, so like 18-20 years. FM hasn't been together for 80 years.

Why is Stevie's weight important?

Unfortunately, it is important to her...and to most women:sorry: but true. And, because of the business she's in and as a front woman. She developed an image over the years that was, at least physically waifish and vulnerable so her fans found it difficult to watch what happened as a result of her lifestyle. She has said that she has found it difficult that she became overweight and that she's fought it ever since. I know that I'm 5'1" and I work my butt off to stay slim and healthy because I like it that way! I am NOT happy when I'm overweight. If it doesn't bother anyone else it doesn't bother me for them tho, only myself! I personally like her slim because I think SHE is HAPPIER when she is:shrug:

She does look great in this interview but I LOVE her smile, at ANY weight, it very simply transforms her! I think she smiled once during the entire interview, why so glum, Stevie?

So funny you mention that. After I watched this interview I was thinking how Stevie is always so somber and serious in all of her interviews. It's like she goes into drama mode when she talks about her life and Fleetwood Mac. It's not a big deal really, except that when she is caught in candid moments, she seems much more upbeat and cheerful. And several people who know her have commented on her great sense of humor. It definitely seems like she has distinct public and private personas.

Totally. Most of the time when she is on, she is 100% on. I like the candid much better. She's way too guarded and careful otherwise and will be led by interviewer comments that may or may not be true. But, she will roll with it if that's what they believe. I get why. It's convenient, helps her to keep her guard up and probably just easier than constantly explaining things that you'd just as soon not talk about or keep private or maintain a persona.

This made me LOL.

Yes, there were a lot of exaggerations. Stevie & Lindsey fighting for 30 years. Nope. (Not one long continual not speaking from the 1976 break up as was insinuated anyway) The airplane thing? Nope. (Not for "30" years)

I think they were fighting on and off for 30 years, but don't see it as a cold war. That's why Doesn't Anything Last made me giggle, because I can't imagine Stevie not having anything to say the last time Lindsey saw her. So, I didn't particularly think it was about her.

The fact that Stevie wrote about it in her diary (so sad to see a good love go bad) suggests to me that there was a particular airplane ride where they sat far away from each other in the plane and didn't talk and it was significant to her, because that's not usually the way it was. I don't think they were buddy buddy, but I think that when the band was touring or working, SnL were probably fairly close to each other physically, in each other's personal space, getting on each other's nerves and bickering more often than they were far apart and not speaking.

That's what I mean. Stevie's one time we sat far apart because we were ticked turns into 30 years - which actually even if it was 100% true and not embellished is not accurate anyway because 1976 to 1987 is 11 years. We all know they have been pushing the "we're all good & have made up and are friends or friendly" line since 1997. I think it's assumed the fans either forget that - as Mick said "people think we hate each other" - or they are addressing the uninformed just in case - and so every tour since that's what they promote. But it always turns into SnL had a big fight and weren't speaking since 1976 or 1987 or 1997 or 2003 or 2004.... I mean that's all they've got now anyway to sort of conjure up.

Stevie and Mick looked , understandably, super tired. Having to do an interview at the very end of a 45 date tour had to suck. I think the tiredness affected Stevie's mood at the time as well. Regardless, always good to see new interviews. Thanks for posting. :)

Oh, and I think the dog in the dog bed was Karen's. Stevie talked about her getting a new puppy back in October 2011. Her name is Bella.

Or I think Stevie and Lindsey are slightly unhinged mentally. I think they do it even when there's no interviewer prompting them. You're right, there is nothing they didn't also say back in 2003, when it used to be bittersweet and now it's just sweet.

It's fun to wonder what they'll say about this tour 2 years from now.

When she talked about telling him why they broke up, I remembered her discussing how Rick Vito would come to her house 25 years ago and she said Lindsey could never come to her house to work because they'd just end up in an argument for hours about why they broke up 10 years earlier. I think Lindsey and Stevie have had that "what went wrong" conversation roughly a trillion times, so it's hilarious for Stevie to say Lindsey responded, "I wish you had told me this earlier."

The point when Stevie and her mom Barbara came up made me sad because I thought about my mom.

John is the only one of the 1975 crew who has done a Ledge Q & A so mad kudos, but still I think he's slacking and should be docked some pay for not doing a single interview this tour.

He did one for Unleashed, during that first group press conference they had. This time around, I wouldn't ask him to leave his house or boat for a press junket, but if the interview takes place back stage and he is ALREADY back stage, he can participate. The only exception is if he or a family member has health needs and he needs as much time to himself as possible. Otherwise, step up to the mic buddy, just ONCE during this tour, please.

You're right, there is nothing they didn't also say back in 2003, when it used to be bittersweet and now it's just sweet.

It's fun to wonder what they'll say about this tour 2 years from now.

oy, Lindsey used the bittersweet/sweet line during interviews for the damned DANCE. Enough already.

Like you, I'll wait a couple of years to hear what the real story was on this tour.

Or I think Stevie and Lindsey are slightly unhinged mentally. I think they do it even when there's no interviewer prompting them. You're right, there is nothing they didn't also say back in 2003, when it used to be bittersweet and now it's just sweet.

Lol about being unhinged. Bless. They need Barbara.

It's fun to wonder what they'll say about this tour 2 years from now.

Right?! I don't find it fun though, it disturbs me. But, we have so much more evidence to the contrary now though. Ha! Ha! Ha! :D

I think Lindsey and Stevie have had that "what went wrong" conversation roughly a trillion times, so it's hilarious for Stevie to say Lindsey responded, "I wish you had told me this earlier."

Michele

I got the impression she had never apologized. Wouldn't you like to have heard that? She was apologizing for... Leaving him, breaking his heart, going her own way, or was she just saying sorry 'bout that SYW fight, or the time I wouldn't sit next to you on the plane, or for not wanting you to produce my songs? I mean a generic "I'm sorry" could be taken a lot of ways. ;)

Oh -- remember Soldier's Angel?? I thought THAT was the real reconciliation? Now, it's Barbara's death. I know, I know, it's hard to keep up.

The only thing that I didn't like was her makeup. It's clear that the interview was done just before the show, so her face is made up for the stage (ie. looks natural from afar but bold and exaggerated closeup).

Thank you! I couldn't put my finger on it, but you must be right.

thanks (again!) for providing the link and transcribing Nicole!

i watched most of the interview, and man - people (including me!) accuse Lindsey of saying same stuff over and over again, but all this stuff i've heard from Mick and Stevie sooooo many times already i almost couldn't watch. Mick says exact same stuff at m&gs. exact same stuff. it's like his cycles lol. and Stevie with hers being "the greatest love story ever told" - man!

that said, it was nice to see some additional footage - like backstage and them coming out on stage.

FInally got a chance to watch this tonight. Thankyou thankyou for posting to everyone who put links up here.

I agree with most of what's already been said but will add that I found it interesting to watch Stevie's mouth when the interviewer said "Lindsey said..." (about their relationship) she does this little twitch where the side of her mouth goes and it's like she's bracing for whatever he might have said. Subtle but noticeable.

I think Mick's comment about them being so popular and joking about them dying was him saying essentially "maybe people are coming out in droves to see us because they think this might be their last chance"... I guess because of their ages. Even though I know their ages it was a little jolt to see "67" next to his name... yikes.

I know they certainly did do the separate limos off the plane and separate dressing rooms and all that... .but um, it kinda seemed like they still do, actually. LB arrived alone in his limo, Stevie was in her own dressing room with her crew, and in countless interviews over the last several tours they admit they don't often even stay in the same hotels because either they have their own preferences in certain cities or because Stevie insists on having the presidential suite in any hotel because "I deserve it" and maybe Lindsey wants his own presidential suite. I'm not sure I see a lot of offstage time being spent together even now. (would we ever see Stevie roaming around in public like we do LB??)

Still, watching this made me gooey as always.

edited to add:
is it me or is this another interview where it seems there is still some lingering ... thing.... between Stevie and Mick? Again with her downplaying their relationship. Previously it was always "I loved Mick and Mick loved me and we ended it for the sake of the band" All this tour it's been "we only got together coz we were drunk/high". And more of Mick saying "I've had to learn to stop being the one badgering people to do things" ie this tour and EP...

.

I bet they don't stay in separate hotels - or if it does occur it's just personal preference. For example, Stevie changed hotels in Dallas during SYW and then had Lindsey and family switch to her hotel because there was more stuff to do for the kids. Maybe too "speculative" for the board but I believe that was confirmed by witnesses.

Anyway, as far as hanging out backstage, I'm sure by the time they get to the venue and do soundcheck, Stevie needs to start getting ready. It probably takes her a long time to get ready. In DR doc it looked to me that they all sort of come and go from her dressing room, hanging out at times.

No, I don't think we would see Stevie out at random during tours. But she was photographed shopping in Australia at the end of Unleashed. She has said you would not recognize her if she was out and about anyway. So, I guess if she is recognized she didn't have time or the desire to disguise.

We left at 4:30 p.m. for the 8:15 concert. Sound check is early because, whatever the voodoo that she do, Stevie, who brings her two Yorkies, "needs three hours to get ready."

Why?

"She gets a massage."

But if you have to get "up" for a performance, isn't massage relaxing, not stimulating?

Lindsey, who "personally could arrive 15 minutes before and walk right onstage," doesn't know. He only knows she needs three hours to get ready.

Lindsey, who "personally could arrive 15 minutes before and walk right onstage," doesn't know. He only knows she needs three hours to get ready.

Obviously you've never given a two hour stage performance. Singing involves utilising the accessory muscles in the chest...to sing well you need to consciously adjust your breathing so that you breathe using your diaphragm, rather than breathing with your upper lungs like most people do in everyday life.

Stevie Nicks is 65 years old so her muscle tone has declined signficantly as a natural part of ageing, this is not preventable and can only be delayed through regular weight training. Not only does Stevie sing while on stage, obviously she dances around a lot and stands for minimum two hours without ever sitting down during this time period.

I guess what I am trying to say is yes, Stevie wants to "get up" and in the zone, she wants to be psyched and energetic before she goes on stage...however for a woman of her age extra pre-performances measures such as a massage are a wise choice just to relax her muscles, release some tension and so on; in turn this will help her to dance more freely and fluidly on stage.

Sorry, too much information?

TL;DR: Stage performances are physically gruelling and a pre-show massage helps to prevent some of the wear and tear/pain on the body that can result from the singing/dancing/standing for a long time on stage. Also lets Nicks loosen up a little to feel fresh, calm her pre-show nerves/jitters and settle herself mentally so that she can focus on putting on a great show I would say! :D

Warning: Rant about celebrities being privileged and not appreciating it

Edit: Sorry - did not realise that you were quoting Lindsey Buckingham! Ick that man is a silly old fool...he doesn't understand women at all, nor does he have an empathy for Stevie, clearly. But the interview is quite funny!!! Ah, Linds.....

^I must say I read the above interview in full and cannot believe what I am reading. Honestly. "Matching earrings" are the only thing Kristen has to forgo while travelling with Lindsey and the kids? Sorry to LB fans but...JesusMaryandJoseph! Last time I checked my bank account the balance was about $2 Australian. Not $200000000, just two dollars. I would not buy my girlfriend or any of friends/family a diamond necklance with matching earrings when the same money could be spent on, oh, I don't know - maybe putting food on the table. Pay the rent, power bills, council rates, electricity. Luckily my parents support me - but they don't have much money either. It sickens me to see celebrities splurge on meaningless possessions when there are families who work damn hard: people who have never done cocaine. People who couldn't afford cocaine. People who have always worked when there is wrk available and have done so for very little reumeration. People with money should donate it to charities to help the homeless. Or sponsor people who are doing it tough. Just how sheltered Kirsten must be when jewellery on Mother's Day is a given, no questions asked. I'm going to say it: trophy wife maybe?

I've always gotten a kick out of bathroom etiquette. I'm just glad no one said, "he's indisposed." That's the only expression I'm not fond of. In my bathroom, above the toilet on the wall I have a real street sign that reads: NO DUMPING ALLOWED

Ah, right, I should read entire posts! So it was only mentioned that he was peeing. That makes more sense to me.

Maybe I've worked in a hospital for too long, or maybe the UK is just more relaxed about that sort of thing, but "he's peeing" seems quite mild to me. I often say "I need to pee" when amongst friends and the occasion calls. I prefer that to leaving it up to people's imaginations what else I might be getting up to in the restroom. Peeing seems the least personal of all potential bathroom activities. It probably wouldn't even occur to me that someone might be upset by me saying that. Sorry, Michele! But duly noted.

Well, I don't leave the table by saying "I need to powder my nose," because that could lead to a different interpretation today than it would have 50 years ago. But I find something like, "may I use your restroom" or if I don't need directions to the facility, just rising and saying, "excuse me, I'll be back" conveys the message fairly well.

Obviously, for a child you need to question them rather loudly, "Do you need to go potty??" But if they're over 4 ...

On the other hand, I'm one of those people that is so tired of the breastfeeding objections I don't know what to do. You can feed your kid wherever you want and anyone who gives you a dirty look or a hassle should be arrested.

aren't you a guy? don't your restrooms have urinals? guess you somehow avoid going to the restroom in any public place?

Elle, yeah I'm a guy and yeah, I use public restrooms. Let me just clear something up for the ladies: when us guys use urinals we choose the corners of the large urinals and it is considered rude to stand next to someone you don't know while both of you are urinating in a large multi-person-use urinal. If you are both using single-person urinals, then you may stand next to each other but you do not glance over at the other person's genitals. It is uncomfortable when men do this and it is just not good manners.

Honestly, you have to understand, I don't think Lindsey is super-ugly. When I say ugly, I'm aware he is actually quite dashing and handsome. But to me he is not sexually attractive! And not just because he's a man, but because he just is not the kind of person I would be interested in, mainly because of the age difference and definitely because of his attitude to life and because of the way he treats the women in his life (no, not just Stevie, but past girlfriends and female friends too). Also he just seems like a dickhead. But I have reserved making a final judgement on whether or not I like him until I get the chance to meet him, maybe.

Everyone, I can't believe we are discussing bathroom etiquette! :]

I will admit when I watched Destiny Rules I had a cheeky grin about the "he's relieving himself" comment. And I wondered what Stevie thought when the image of Lindsey peeing came into her mind...she's such a princess...but then again, maybe she's seen him nude so much in the 1970s she is not bothered by him urinating in her dressing room toilet.

I mean...I wish Stevie would let her true self shine through to the public more than she does currently. She didn't even react to the comment about Lindsey peeing, and in Destiny Rules Stevie was in generally, very cagey and reserved I think. Yes there were some glimpses into how she really felt, and she did speak her mind sometimes. A lot of the time she just said nothing. And her songs on that record Say You Will, suffered as a result of her not speaking up for herself properly. And the songs Stevie wrote for Say You Will also suffered because of Lindsey producing and, in general, it would appear he was very rude to her during the making of that record. And the he wonders why "she still hasn't thanked me for Say You Will". Pfft.

lol at your whole explanation - so how come you can't stop imagining LB peeing from just hearing someone yelling that was what he was doing, but sharing the restroom with bunch of other guys doesn't phase you? seriously, what do you expect? that FM members don't ever need to use restrooms? i guess you do, seeing how you keep expressing your extreme opinions about various FM members as absolute truths. ;)

why would you want to meet a guy who you so obviously dislike and are so deeply prejudiced against?
Ah gawd. You clearly did not realise that much of my last comment/post was sarcastic and intended to be humorous. Americans like you, no offence, don't get the Aussie culture and...I have a sick sense of humour that is impossible to convey through online text. You'd have to meet me and listen to the tone of my voice as I say these things!

And lol...you're such a hypocrit Elle, you've made all the judgement about me without even knowing my real name (it's James) and then you get on your high horse and attack me for not being in love with Lindsey Buckingham and not thinking he's the best thing since sliced bread (as you clearly do).

It's actually just my opinion - and all I said was Lindsey seems like a dickhead. I've seen him publicly embarass people and rile people up for his own selfish reasons. And that's just what's on the public record in docos, interviews with the press and songs.

I would love to meet Lindsey Buckingham because he seems like such an odd man, and I'm curious to see what kind of person he is in real life, when he's not working.

Finally, I never decide whether I like or dislike somebody until I meet them in person. Clearly, Elle, the same cannot be said for you. All I did was express how Lindsey appears to behave in the media, onstage, in song and in documentaries and then state my opinion of that behaviour. It's not a crime for me to feel differently about Buckingham to how his fans do.

I'm not a fully-fledged Lindsey fan. But I definitely do not hate him...he gave us the guitars in Gypsy. He gave us Tusk! ...Anyway ... I'm lost on you Elle because apparently my "extreme views" don't resonate with you and that's a bad thing, apparently.

Pfft.

A princess? Wow. You sure don't give Ms. Nicks much credit. She's a big girl and has been in a tough business for 40 years. She is perfectly capable of speaking her mind to Lindsey. She may be one of the few who will do that, but she does do it...even in DR, she never held back. If you don't like her songs on SYW, she's as much to blame as Lindsey, just as those of who like her songs can appreciate both of their contributions.

On a lighter note, you seriously think a grown woman is phased by a man peeing? Let alone a man she's known for 40 years and has had intimate relations with...lived with, etc?? They work together and spend time in close quarters. Should he go to a seperate building so as to not disturb her? We all know we all have bodily functions. Nobody's going to see or learn anything they didn't already know. I can't even believe this an issue. Are we that hard up around here?

woah woah woah... let's settle down there newbie, firstly don't use the Australian sense of humour as your out clause, i'm an Aussie, have met Lindsey and have been on this board for 10 years, Elle is one of the best posters on here, furthermore you seem quick to cast opinions on someone you have never met and yet fire up when someone does the same. Don't ever use sense of humour as a way of defending your opinions.

No, just no.

Can I ask why you feel that way? I know we're way off topic now but I've never got to seriously ask someone why that would make them uncomfortable. It's always baffled me and I'm genuinely curious. As I see it, there's nothing that could even remotely be seen as sexual about breastfeeding, and all anyone really sees is the back of a baby's head.

Not trying to be inflammatory or put you on the defense. Just interested.

I appreciate the way you asked the question.
If Michele reads what I wrote, she'll probably
think I'm joking as I usually am prone to do.

I think it's a lack of modesty. It's in no way a
sexual type of thing. I guess I'm old school in
the way I think about it. I'd just prefer not to
see it if possible.

I could go on, but I've said enough.

OK. :) Thanks for indulging.

Michele, ragarding bathroom usage euphemisms, I'd like to make it clear that I don't say "I'm peeing" to absolutely everybody off the street, and I agree that there are more subtle ways to convey that message. However, if I'm with people I've known intimately for 40 years, I'd probably toss the euphemisms aside. They just seem a little silly to me at that point. But chalk it up to cultural differences, I guess.

Just an aside: I remember when I was a kid, women of older generations did say "powder my nose" a lot, and it was years before I realized they weren't being literal. I just thought women literally went into the bathroom to put powder on their nose with tremendous frequency. It always seemed like a colossal waste of time to me. I always thought their noses always looked perfectly fine as they were, and pretty much the same when they came back.

All I am saying is that I would love to meet Lindsey and get to know the real Linds. That way I could see what type of person he is. Also, stop deliberately misinterpreting every comment I am making. Read what I say and understand without prejudice, please, that is all I ask.

He seems like a dickhead. Not he is one, he appears to be one from what I have seen of him. I am sure that this is just the media's portrayal of him. And if I meet the guy I'd probably discover he's an awesome person! hence why I want to meet him...duh...

I am not using my sense of humour as a way of defending my opinions. My views on Lindsey are not well-informed. That is why I want to know the real person he is, outside the public eye. But that will probably never happen. He does not do Australian tours as far as I know (and if he did I would actually be the first to buy tickets...)

And...what ever happened to a little fantasy being a good thing? I like to romanticise Lindsey and Stevie's relationship in my head, as a story through song. But...

at the same time...I am acutely aware that Stevie is a strong and confident 65 year old grown woman. And Lindsey is a 63 year old mature, seasoned professional musician with a wife, kids, lots of friends...probably a great guy.

He just appears to sometimes forget about people's feelings when he is caught up in creating "artwork" (studio recordings). Refer to his comments in Destiny Rules doco re: double album. Linds wanted a double album. That is, 18 songs but spread across 2 CDs charged at a premium price.

Maybe we would have received additional music if Lindsey had got his way. I actually support him on this one. But I do not support the pressure he put on the rest of the band for the double album idea. It caused friction as you can see in the doco and in interviews with the press.

Just because I don't always agree with Lindsey, and just because I think sometimes he is mean - this does not mean he is a dickhead. Sorry, bad choice of words. What I've been getting at is: how odd his relationship with Stevie and other women appears to have been. I am happy that he is now content and married with children, life has been kind to him. And he is no doubt a great guy. But I don't know him. So how can I support any opinions I have of him with evidence until I meet the bloke (Lindsey)?

That is my point: I only know a very limited amount about who Lindsey is, what he's like. And well...that's why I want to meet Mr Buckingham!! :o

I'm dreadfully sorry that everyone has been so upset by my comments, more important I'm sorry that I was unable to clearly express myself and say what I really think.

And also, yes Stevie's songs on SYW were good. But they were not how she wanted them to be. She was unhappy with the production. Not the lyrics, not even the music really. And it is nobody's fault. Things just didn't work out...and the result is: an 18-track album which I personally LOVE but Stevie dislikes, Lindsey loves and don't know about Mick or John - they tend to be somewhat impartial in the press. John lives a very private life. And Mick just wants to make new music and tour as long as is possible. He loves it so good on him.

The only thing that I didn't like was her makeup. It's clear that the interview was done just before the show, so her face is made up for the stage (ie. looks natural from afar but bold and exaggerated closeup).

I disagree. I was looking closely at her makeup, trying to figure out it was filmed in relation to the show and I do not think she was wearing her full on stage makeup for the interview. It looked a lot softer and understated that it does when she's onstage, especially the eye make up.

I thought her stage makeup was harsh looking on TV too! Her makeup is usually flawless in interviews and very soft. Even her lips were outlined very noticeably. Very definitely right before the Sacramento show, I'm thinking!

I missed the initial screening and watched the interview online after the program finished.

My favourite part was the snippets of pro-shot concert footage from Sacramento show. Gives me hope that Fleetwood Mac are going to awesome in Sydney this November despite their age. Not that I consider 65 old, 80 is old. But still - wow. I can only hope I have as much energy, mental acuity and passion at age 65 as Lindsey, Mick, John and Stevie do today.

Yes .I agree .They still kick a$$ and rock out at 65. I'm so proud of them of keeping it up all of these years. Most people at 65 are retiring an getting part time work as a greeter at Walmart or Home Depot at that age.

I think when I hit their age,"God willing" If I do which its not that far off for me.I hope I can kick a$$ like they do.I just keep up my walking and exercising and I should be ok.If I dont.I end up petering out.

Me too, Jonathan! The first leg was amazing and I bet the rest will be...despite the verbal diarrhea, I'd be willing to bet BIG money that they are all having a blast! They're old enough now to appreciate it as a whole, to look back with different eyes and forward without alot of apprehension. That wouldn't be sanitary. Nursing is not a hygiene issue. There are lots of things I don't want to see when I go out to dine, like sloppy eaters who chew with their mouths open or people who drool or spill things, but it's really my problem not theirs. I either avert my eyes or stay home.
