Inspired by the recent story about a man in Boston who stole a river boat and claimed Stevie Nicks forced him to do it, I feel we should all come clean and share personal stories of what Stevie forced you to do.

Since 1977, Stevie has forced me to intensely follow her career, mostly due to her witchery powers. As a result, I'm listening and liking Street Angel. Oh the humanity!

Now I feel the strange urge to steal a bus!

Seriously... ? Okay, I'll play along: hmmm - let's see;

Fly to Las Vegas and spend well over $4,000 where I spent three nights in a huge black glass pyramid, then waited for 10 hours in an airport to ride in a jet airplane that was essentially broken down.

Spend thousands of dollars on a home recording studio so I could practice and record Stevie-aoke.

Spend several hundred dollars on look-alike boots, long dresses, shawls and necklaces. Then there's the authentically worn clothing...

So, yeah... basically, prolly like many others, she made me spend a butt-load of money on all kinds of stuff. Did I have fun doing it?! Well, of course I did!

 When I was in my teens, Stevie (and Lindsey) forced me to beg and plead on my knees!

I (of course) wanted the Buckingham Nicks album. I had a guy who ran a record store looking for it for me and he found it. When I went to get it and my mom saw the album cover, she said I couldn't have it. I got down on my knees in the store and begged her to let me buy it! My mom relented....and then later almost made me have to do the same thing to get HAHTF!

Years ago, she also forced my husband to play the TISL cd so loud that our landlord walked over and complained.

Of course, Stevie also turned me into a witch. I am a Wiccan. but it wasn't being 'under the influence' of Stevie that caused that!

Haha, me too! Although I am still unable to enjoy TISL. I've also seen her solo twice and with FM once, all since 2011.

Stevie has made me spend hundreds of dollars on embellished fabric, fringe and fabric glue...so I can look as close to her as possible every October 31st.

She help me to dump a sheet job that gave me BS for taking time off to travel to her shows.

Also in the long run I got a chance to spend time with my ill dad before I lost him about 8 months later.

Who in the world do you think you are fooling?

I actually liked the song at the time, but hated the live performance - with her keyboard player's over the top singing. It was so cheesy!! The song hasn't aged well; it's rather elusive, and poorly conceived. I'm amazed it was chosen as a single.

Ugh, Robert Martin was horrible! :distress:

He is the same guy who ruined "Leather & Lace" on the RAL tour too, right?

And like so many others, the only thing Stevie's forced me to do is rack up credit card bills.

Okay, it's time to come clean. At my last job I was always the one who made the coffee in the morning for the office. And every day for seven years Stevie made me fill up the coffee maker, flip down the lid and proclaim to anyone who would listen "There we are... coffee's MAKING!" :]

She's also makes me travel to places I've never been before to see her perform .Which is great.

It gets my out of Wallyworld for a few days .

yes, last solo tour I got to visit Canberra, Wollongong, and Hobart, all of which I'd never been to.
In December I'm going to Auckland, again a new place for me.

Stevie convinced me that seeing FM at Jazz Fest this year was a Great idea and after a long rainy week and countless $ spent....the whole (over-exploited) experience was a waste. The music was Good, but it was the food and drinks I will remember the best....oh yeah, and the Bug flying into her mouth!

Also, on that note...forced me to listen to Without You live, Twice! lol and also Rock N' Roll more times than I care to admit!

When I was in the 7th grade, Stevie forced me to write down the lyrics to 7Wonders and place them in the would be "casket" of our loving peek-a-poo Alfie to accompany him in his final resting place. (Morbid, I know) but seemed very appropriate at-the-time to a 13yo!

Somehow... I think that is very Stevieish! :-)
