Oh hey that's my tweet!! So yes just came back from the rockin' show! I swear they keep getting better and better. Now I haven't kept up with the many intros to Without You but tonight's was damn hilarious. Stevie was getting all flustered and "starting to sweat"...her words. So cute. I'm uploading the video as we speak. It might take a while because the intro was 6 minutes long. It's a 10 minute video in total. I guess the iPhone only allows 10 minute videos because it does cut off the end of the song.

Also the crowd was awesome tonight! So loud and just cheered for everything! Lindsey got all smiley when he introduced the Tusk album because the crowd went nuts.

All I can say is that I need to win the lottery, quit my job and be a Fleetwood Mac groupie!

I will try and have more thoughts later. I did try and record audio of the show but my freaking recorder stopped in the middle of the show. Apparently my digital recorder was being stupid and I was only able to record the audio from World Turning til Say Goodbye. grrrr! I do hope someone else did tape it because it really was so much fun and I'd love to have the entire show.

Christine McVie update from the Mick Meet & Greet: She's writing new music!!! Doesn't know what she's going to do with it yet (if anything), but I'm really hoping this means the band would be open to her recording with them. Mick also says he talks to her all the time and she seems to be excited to be back in the world so to speak (I'm paraphrasing here).

Also, this guy brought the stool used on the cover of the Rumours album (he bought it in an auction for $5,000!) and he had Mick pose with it for his photo. It was very cool, plus I got to touch it!

On to the show, as others mentioned we now have the longest, most-befuddled pre-Without You speech yet. It was hilarious, especially watching Lindsey's expressions which varied between amusement and annoyance. Gold Dust Woman was on another level compared to when I last saw the show two months ago.

A few other things I forgot to mention (plus I can't sleep). John McVie wandered in and out of Mick's Meet&Greet but made sure to walk swiftly by, hoping no one would notice, but I saw you John! He was wearing a leather jacket, very Lindsey-like. ;)

When did Lindsey go from singing a long with Stand Back to various members of the audience, to doing it on every song Stevie sings lead on? It was very funny. I think at least 20 of us got to experience it throughout the evening.

And finally, wow, they really have a lot more merchandise. I got the guitar pic necklace, the dogtag one, a magnet set, a button set, and a set of guitar pics. They even have Fleetwood Mac tablet cases for your iPad , Galaxy, etc.

That's great. I loved what she said about Lindsey's guitar being a great counter to what they are doing with their voices, which she thinks is unique.

I like when she said she could hear John in the background saying, "just bring the girl."

What adjective did she use to describe herself? She said no where in the lead guitarist description did it say, "and his _____ girlfriend." I thought it sounded like "hinty" or did she say "witty". I couldn't hear.

Thank you for the review and for the video.

Christine McVie update from the Mick Meet & Greet: She's writing new music!!!

Whatever her stated purpose in writing new music is (in the past Mick said she was doing it for herself), I can't help but think that the undisclosed purpose is for FM or that Mick feels that he can get it there somehow. So, fingers always crossed.

Thanks for the details. Oh, that John trying to sneak by.

It's so weird this happened. I was actually just thinking about this yesterday: what would happen if someone tried to take one of Lindsey's guitars during the show? Would they be able to make it back to the crowd and leave the show with a really expensive concert souvenir? I remember there was a video online from the Say You Will tour when someone went onstage for Beautiful Child. I think Lindsey was more spooked then Stevie, if I'm remembering that one correctly.

Seattle Post Intelligencer, June 10, 2013 by Charles Doherty

http://www.seattlepi.com/lifestyle/blogcritics/article/Music-Review-Fleetwood-Mac-Extended-Play-EP-4596237.php

This year is fast becoming the year of the throwback acts. With new albums by Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, My Bloody Valentine, David Bowie, and in a few months, the recently reunited Nine Inch Nails, there's a lot to be excited about if you're looking for some new gems by the old school crowd.

Enter Fleetwood Mac. On April 30, the classic blues rock-turned-pop rock hitmakers somewhat quietly released Extended Play, its first ever EP, on iTunes. It's their first release in 10 years, since 2003 album Say You Will.

Track one, "Sad Angel," is a refreshingly modern-sounding power pop number (with a touch of '80s keyboard embellishments during the choruses). This is due to six-stringer Lindsey Buckingham's lively and aggressive down-strokes. (And if you've paid any attention to Buckingham's solo output of late, Seeds We Sow in particular, this won't surprise you, as he, at age 63, still plays his guitars with the energy of a 25-year-old.)

The acoustic-driven "Without You" is a real treat, as it is a Steve Nicks love song from the Buckingham-Nicks (pre-Mac) days. The breezy, midtempo pace and always recognizable blending of Buckingham and Nicks' vocals still works very well, even without Christine McVie (she left the group in 1998).

Buckingham wrote three of the EP's four tracks, and in some places, it does carry with it the feel of a solo release (see the slow and gentile, piano-based "It Takes Time"). But it also has the aura of vintage Fleetwood Mac (ex. Rumours at times, which should please longtime fans. Original members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are indeed present and drive the rhythm section, steadily and smoothly, especially on final track, the catchy, pop number "Miss Fantasy."

Fleetwood Mac is currently on an extensive world tour. You can get yourself some Fleetwood Mac tickets now.

The Mac Attack returns! A seemingly ageless Stevie Nicks and explosive Lindsey Buckingham led the charge at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena on June 14. In the middle of a massive juggernaut that will bring Fleetwood Mac around the globe to promote their Extended Play EP, the band played with a lightness in their step and a thorn in their hearts. My apologies for getting this review out so late. I went on vacation the Sunday after this concert happened and spent the day after the concert packing and doing other things. I hope you enjoy though!

My first Fleetwood Mac concert and it was a blast! I’m surprised I got any sleep the night before but I did. I left about 2 hours before the show because I was worried about traffic. We listened to The Dance CD on the way there to set the mood. My mom and I ended up getting there around 7pm and they hadn’t opened the doors yet to the stadium so we ended up waiting in a long line outside. There were multiple lines snaking out of the stadium, depending on where you parked. I was wearing jeans with wedge heels and a lace shirt. I’m only 5’1” and I knew that if I didn’t wear heels I would not be able to see anything. It was also windy while we were standing there so I was freezing most of the time.

Finally, the line started moving and here was the part I had been nervous about: whether or not my camera was going to be confiscated. Got my ticket scanned and went through the turnstile; there was a cop standing next to the ticket taker and I almost got by him with my bag, but he did stop me. I opened my bag and he looked in and felt the bottom of it, but that was it! I had hidden my camera in the inside zipper pocket and just to make sure, I put a sanitary pad on top to deter him from looking further, and also in the main compartment as well! Was super happy about that since I hadn’t been to a concert in a while and did not know the consistency with which security is about cameras.

Let me just say though, that the ushers at Allstate were super polite and helpful in finding our seats for us. I had never sat on the floor level for a concert so my mom and I had no idea where to even go at first but luckily the ushers helped us.

After we found our seats we went to the merchandise stand, of which I found out there were quite a few of them set up around the arena! The first one I stopped at was smaller and had some posters as well as jewelry and iPad cases. I did not see the other cell phone cases as someone else had reported although I would have bought one. I ended up buying the small personalized poster with the city name on it to commemorate when I went. I do wish I had bought the lanyard; those seemed really nice and would have liked to put my ticket in there if I could find the plastic casing for it.
We then found our way back to our seats and I made sure to tell my mom that the Mac never come out exactly at 8pm as many of you here on The Ledge have noted. I also made sure to go on here via my phone for a little bit and to see if there was any additional chatter about this show. I did see that “HelloMonster” also attended this show and was happy to know there was a fellow Ledgie in attendance.

I had contemplated going up to the stage, but I felt bad about leaving my mom in her seat so I didn’t. The only real reason I would have gone up there would have been to see LB and get to touch his guitar and just bask in his awesomeness.

There were also some interesting people sitting behind me and in front of me. The guy behind me kept talking throughout the show (although I never heard much of it), and there was a pre-teen girl directly to my right who kept waving her arms around every time a Rumours song was played. All the other times she looked kind of bored. I also saw a drunk Stevieite (not sure if she was) turn around and ask the other drunk people behind her if she could have another bong hit. The person then offered her a long black illuminated pipe of which she took a hit and I saw smoke. Are these things electronic now?

Show started exactly at 8:20 and I wish I could remember every nuance of it. I do remember after The Chain, that Stevie said something about being in Chicago again which she loved and loved coming back here. I was surprised she didn’t mention something about the Blackhawks.

Sad Angel was wonderful although I wish I had taken more video of the video screen than LB on the stage since I had heads in my way. Was so excited to see his solo on that and the pogo-ing!!

I so wish that someone had videoed the speech Lindsey gave when introducing the Tusk set because there was a girl in the front row who was really enthusiastic about it and he said something along the lines of “1987…..*points to girl in front row* “way before you were even born….” And then something like “Oh!” when he realized she was born in 1989. I was standing there watching that and thinking “girl, I was born in ’86, can I have your tickets please!!” It also looked like Lindsey made some pelvic thrust movements when he introduced Tusk and got the reaction, and I wish there was video of that too.

I remember giving hints to my mom about what songs were to come since I had been spoiled so much by YouTube and the Ledge…..she loved Big Love and NGBA….and I was happy to see that the hand slapping thing he does before Big Love was at this show.

Definite highlight was the “Without You” intro. My god was that funny and it’s evolved even more but I’m proud to say that this version started here! I loved Stevie’s “I’m starting to sweat!” and Mick poking LB with his drumsticks.

But, I had been waiting patiently for ISA, because I knew LB was going to do what he always does during that song, make love to his guitar and I was waiting to see my mom’s reaction to it. It floored her as did I. This man is a genius and I cannot wait to see him on his solo tours!!

I was surprised that by the time Silver Springs rolled around that the concert was almost over. I was also surprised that that was the moment where it hit me that I was actually there. I do remember getting a little emotional during Landslide because everyone was singing along, but SS was the moment where I knew it was almost over.

Say Goodbye was wonderful too, I just wish people wouldn’t scream “I love you Stevie!!” during that song. They’re having their moment and I know they’ve done it a billion times, but for a person like me who’s never seen them in concert, it just irks me the wrong way.

Overall, the concert was wonderful and I would do it all again in a heartbeat if I could. A couple of days after it was over, I was contemplating going to another show but I knew that I’d never be able to afford it anyway. There’s always LB tours to look forward to!

That's a wonderful review and worth the wait. I know how you had an idea of what was coming and could wait to see your mother's reaction to it. Good to know that ISA did not disappoint.

Interesting that Lindsey's now doing birthdates for his 1987 mention.

Given your username, it's only fitting that you wish you had an unobstructed recording of Sad Angel <g>.

Also the crowd was awesome tonight! So loud and just cheered for everything! Lindsey got all smiley when he introduced the Tusk album because the crowd went nuts.

I do hope someone else did tape it because it really was so much fun and I'd love to have the entire show.

Oh I wish someone had recorded the intro to the Tusk set too! I loved what LB did when the crowd went wild! I'm also really sad that no torrent has surfaced (audio and/or video). I really, really wanted a copy of this concert to look back on because it was so good, and was hoping one would surface because I've seen them for past tours in '09 and '03.

I did however make a playlist of the videos I took as well as all the others I've found that related to this show (although I wish people would tag things correctly). The videos aren't all that great though and a lot of them are only partial songs (most of them from the Rumours album).
