I'm more interested in The Dance era and what happened (if anything) between her and Lindsey then.
"He fell for again, she watched it happen..."
I'd like a book that focuses on a particular era of her career. Like, a book about joining Fleetwood Mac up to the start of working on Rumours, perhaps. Or about the recording of Bella Donna. Or indeed, The Dance tour. I think that format would lend itself to a much more interesting, satisfying, and cohesive narrative than we'd probably get from a more all-encompassing "here's the big stuff" bio. But of course it wouldn't sell nearly as well.
Really, whatever she writes, I'll read and probably enjoy. But I'd especially like to see a more self-deprecating tone from her. We get glimpses of that these days, especially in recent interviews, but I think we're still used to the more perhaps-too-serious style of storytelling from her overall, and that just doesn't make for very interesting writing.

Robin. She's talked about that story many times before but I still have the impression she has lots of things to say about that.

I just watched the Through the Looking Glass documentary and Keith Olsen and Rick Vito were interviewed. I realized I didn't know alot of what went on in her life from Rock a Little through Behind the Mask. Keith said he dropped out of Rock a Little because Stevie was not fun to be around and Joe Walsh's influence there was not a good one. And Rick talked about his years in Fleetwood Mac and how important Stevie was to the band at that time. She had the fan base and that was part of the reason for adding her solo songs into the tour set list. I would love to know more about what was going on during those years.
^ That would be an interesting era to learn more about because, yes, she really doesn't talk about it. Maybe this will come off as a bit flippant, but do we think Stevie might not actually be able to remember enough from a lot those years to talk much about the specifics? Memories are subjective and self-editing at the best of times. Adding a drug haze to the mix... I wonder how credible or detailed anything about those eras would be.
It seems unlikely at the moment, but I wonder if Stevie would ever authorize a biography written by someone else, who'd incorporate perspectives from a number of different sources. That might work better.

She did say several times she doesn't remember much from the Klonopin years.

I want some funny Stevie tidbits. I want hear more about her crazy life. Like her everyday schedule. I want to hear about her shopping for babydolls and watching cartoons and making omelettes. I want to know when the last time she's dated was, and what the hell Stevie Nicks does on a date  I want to hear about FM on tour and what they do when they're not on stage. I want to hear something that we don't know for once.
Also, i'm kind of nosy and fascinated with Stevie's hot mess of a love life. I kind of want details on this stuff. I want to know what really happened during The Dance. And some chapters on who/what each song was about and the stories behind them. The drama and mystique around Stevie is one of the coolest things about her, IMO. She needs to cash in on that.

Great topic!
I think for me I'd like a more detailed, intimate look of her past (personal and professional). Think Storytellers/Crystal Visions/Masterclass, with a unedited recap of what Stevie remembers. I was so impressed at how candid she was with Masterclass, a lot like IYD album, and I'm sure the docu (which I still haven't seen).
Of course we all want to hear stories that we have never heard before. But, I'd like a more detailed version of events, such as:
The day she met LB and sang California Dreaming
How her girlfriends (and family) reacted to her new stardom
What (if anything) she remembers when Mick listened to FL or was it really Crystal? Did she even meet Mick at that time, or was it just LB that met him?
What her thoughts were (detailed) about quitting FM early on 75-76
Her and LB's (and FM's) sudden over-night fame
What really happened in Maui with her and Mick
When she met Sharon (and why Sharon never left her to persue other endevours)
The recording details of the masterpieces BD, Mirror, Street Angel
What was the true inspiration for Gypsy (video and song) and a detailed recollection of her struggles during this time and what got her through it (not the coke)
How she really felt during 87-92 with LB leaving and Billy and Rick joining
What she (and the band) did the night after the Innguartion Ball concert
Has she ever really been to NOTS, yet? and the details
Regarding the gossip of being a witch, how she came to the decision to record for Practical Magic
Her interactions and what led up to her recording with LB for Twisted
Enquiring minds want to know more, fingers crossed that Stevie does release snippets of her journal someday.

I've always wanted to know if her parents questioned her about her drug use. Not in a "very special episode" way ca. 1978, because, too late. But any of the times they were around her when she was obviously high, like the pictures of her with her mom at the awards in '77 or onstage in '82. Or when she went home after the Rumours tour and wrote Sisters of the Moon. She's said that her parents were strict if supportive, and I can't imagine someone like Jess not bringing it up before 85/86. They must have had an opinion because Stevie said they were both worried that she was going to be this 80-lb, burnt out junkie during the lean years. She'd basically become that by the time she wrote SOTM.
Why did she go to a plastic surgeon and not an ENT in '85 for the hole in her nose? Was she considering getting work done?
If she had any moments before that when she thought she was going to die. I want the morbid stuff. You're Stevie ****ing Nicks, give me some drama.

I bet Stevie has about 1000, "I almost died" moments. Whether she actually came close to dying or not would be up for debate, but I'm sure there are many times where she will say she thought death was imminent.

Yes. She has had her nose slimmed down via plastic surgery (who knows how many times it's been tweaked). But she was talking to a plastic surgeon about having something done and he said, um, you have a bigger problem with your nose......... She tends to leave out that it was a consult for some cosmetic work because she doesn't admit to any work (and bless her, the work she's had done has been done well enough that most people don't even notice)

I'm thinking YOU should write this book!
Realistically, she'd probably completely gloss over everything from 1985-1996. We'd be lucky to get a few romanticized re-tellings of the stories we've already heard ad nauseum, with plenty of "....." thrown in for good measure. ;)

i'd love to know more about the early days of fame... different people around the band have talked at times about how all the fame and money and power went to band members' heads. We know about Stevie insisting that hotel suites be painted pink and white pianos brought in... I want to know what other diva behaviors she engaged in. She said once that while at Betty Ford she was given an exercise where she was asked to describe the difference between the Stevie onstage and the Stevie in real life and she said it was the hardest thing she'd had to do.
It's interesting to see the footage of her backstage during the early Rumours period doing her own makeup and hair and all that with just Robin helping her out some and then she became a STAR and had the makeup person, the hair person, wardrobe mistresses, bodyguards, assistants etc. I'd love to know how much she actually does for herself. In a couple of magazine interviews where the reporter went to her house they talk about her not knowing how to turn on the big tv or the disco ball or much of anything else for that matter. Is Karen at her side 24/7 to turn the pages of her magazines, keep her glass filled...?

I just didn't realize how far back it went. Something else she could address in the book! I don't know why that surprises me (or anyone) since new boobs were her first big famous-girl purchase.

Or this beaut from 1991:
http://bla.fleetwoodmac.net/index.php?page=index_v2&id=196&c=11
She does have an occasional drink. She offers wine while rummaging through cupboards for a little rum, which she can't find. She won't drink much, she says, " 'cause it's too fattening. I'd rather eat a piece of cake." Dinner this evening is buffet style, chicken or steak. "Where's mine?" Nicks asks the five women - ever-present friends and aides - already at the rough-hewn kitchen table. "Get up and get it yourself," teases Wendy, the cook, and Nicks does.

I would love to hear the outcome of that exercise. I'd also like to know about the relationship she had with her dad and how that shaped her relationships with men.
Did her father dote over her? Or maybe he worked too much and Stevie needed his attention?
Has she been searching for those qualities (or faults) with the men in her life and which man came the closest to being like her dad?

I think some fans have been a little dismissive about this new documentary, but the new interviews are quite good, especially the ones from Keith Olsen and Rick Vito. Even NPR correspondent Ann Power's interview is well done. She is extremely eloquent and interprets Stevie's career moves so well.

Was reading from the link that bluecalmsea shared in the first post and for some reason these things stood out. I agree, I'd like to hear her side of this.
Yes, Stevie wanted to move in a folk and rock direction, but she stressed that if she were to do this, she would have to be "the best." It was very important that she must be the best, she didn't want to disappoint the parents by being anything less.
I asked if she could sing blues. No.
"Do you do protest songs?" No, the parents wouldn't like it. They're confused and concerned about protests and demonstrations.
----
"Why don't you come back to NYC with me. I'm sure you'll make it big there within a year. . . . I know everyone," I exaggerated, "there are so many clubs and venues, so many opportunities and possibilities. You'll dig NYC."
No, she couldn't do that. She had enrolled at San Jose State and she couldn't disappoint the parents that way. Besides, she had just joined the band, and she couldn't abandon them.
-----
No, she couldn't go, but she wanted me to stay. We could develop something . . . she proposed I work for her dad's company . . . she would take care of everything.
The notion that she would want me to take a job with her father's large corporation bothered me. That wasn't something I would want to do, but she assured me that her dad was a really nice guy, that her parents would like me, that she was very close to her family and that I would have to meet them . . . All of that put me off, and it was all happening rather quickly.
-----
For a long time I thought my discomfort regarding her parents caused me to walk away. I had not met or seen her father, but she spoke much of him and it was clearly very important for her to please him. I simply felt he wouldn't like me and my lifestyle. She insisted he really wasn't uptight under the surface, but her saying so didn't make me feel more comfortable.
Her side of this story: http://www.khaldea.com/freakstreet6.shtml
There's been some discussions about Stevie being "vain" but maybe it's more about her feeling overly scrutinized? My mother was always -" fix your hair, stand up straight, don't shuffle your feet" so I know what that feels like!
Pressure to be perfect? Afraid if she wasn't perfect, her parents might not love/approve of her?
Just some random thoughts. Not anything more.
