Still writing my comments, but I'd like to just say that Sad Angel rocked.

I have knocked it for months because I didn't like the title and I didn't like the line Stevie sang, but the song is nothing like that. I don't know the words in the chorus. I think Sad Angel may be looking to find "the Lord," which is odd coming from Lindsey but . . . I can't wait to buy this one.

Christine, please appear somewhere where I can see you, then I will hang up my boots. I am too old for this. I'm TIRED. But happy.

Michele

Glad to hear that you had a good time. Can't wait to read about it.

They look great! Lindsey has a little more of a belly now, but maybe it's just the photo/lighting.

Lindsey's stomach wouldn't be so big if he would stop wearing tight pants that give him a raging muffin top.

Give 'em a rest Lindsey.

Yes to you!

And yes to the fact that FM is STILL performing! Touring in your 60's??? Holy crap! I'm in 8 different hotels a month and it sucks!

So, a thank you to them!

YAY!! Thank you!! I hope (and fingers crossed) that they'll still be performing it by the time it rolls to NJ on the 24th!!

I'm hoping "Sisters Of The Moon" is still in the setlist by the second night on the tour. Knowing Stevie's history ("Running Through The Garden", "Destiny Rules", etc.), that isn't a slam dunk.

I just don't get why Lindsey thinks they HAVE to play songs like World Turning and I'm So Afraid. I would think the following songs are the ONLY songs anyone expects hear.

1. Landslide
2. Rhiannon
3. Dreams
4. Go Your Own Way
5. Don't Stop
6. The Chain
7. Sara
8. Gypsy
9. Tusk
10. Gold Dust Woman

and maybe Second Hand News and Never Going Back Again.

The rest could be all rarities.

For some reason, "Stand Back" also seems to be a staple whenever Stevie tours with Fleetwood Mac.

Had a wonderful evening-will write more tomorrow and try to get pics etc up. A few quick notes:

All looked fab and happy. Stevie giggled a few times, and I love her giggle. She messed up on Dont Stop and corrected herself. She wore the glasses until encore. Her introductions were cute and so stevie...she made a crack about rambling on and she can do that in HER shows but not this one :)

LB made a big deal of introducing Tusk set, which I liked, bit many around us did beer run etc then and missed Sisters.
I love the big screen in the middle, esp watching Micks drum cam and John...John is my favourite. Fun to see jumbo Linds and Stevie.

We got 7th row dead centre tix yesterday and seats were great...I could see full stage and people around us stood and danced whole time. In the past I preferred seats just to the side, if not in first 5 floor rows, but last time we did that all around us sat and moaned that we stood. So, happy to be amongst fun peeps.

Say Goodbye is oddly placed and people around us didn't seem to know or get into it.

Silver springs-Stevie sounded a bit off to me.

Crowd loves Landslide.

Talked to a guy who said meet greet was fab-a full hr with Mick.

Edited to say that stewards were fine with cameras, despite signs saying no camera and silence the phones. Hide st bag search and you will be fine. I saw a woman wih an ipad.

I have now seen FM in every decade since the 60s...wow.

Concert review | Fleetwood Mac: First tour stop had it all
Band in fine form as it satisfies crowd in Nationwide

By Curtis Schieber
For The Columbus Dispatch Friday April 5, 2013 12:21 AM

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/life_and_entertainment/2013/04/05/concert-review-fleetwood-mac.html

Fleetwood Mac returned to performing in concert for the first time in three years last night in Nationwide Arena, the core four members putting on their rock ’n’ roll greasepaint as if it had just came off the night before. Columbus was the first show in a 50-gig run.

The band didn’t reserve anything for the next 49, as it delivered mega-hits, out-of-the-way album tracks, solo work and even a couple of new tunes.

The million-sellers brought the house down, especially selections from the group’s mid-1970s albums, with Dreams, The Chain and Rhiannon duplicating enough of the originals to not only welcome the crowd but also loosen it up.

The band hit the ground running, with Second Hand News, a song with all the group’s strengths, from the deep groove plowed by rhythm section and titular original members John McVie and Mick Fleetwood to the candy-like harmony leads of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

It set the scene for a tour through the two singers’ tangled love lives, which inform a good many of their songs.

The band made tunes that dallied with the darker side, more mysterious still. Sisters Of The Moon opened with considerable drama and ended with Nicks emoting almost as if in fits. Gold Dust Woman was at once spooky and dreamy. Still, the rhythm section proved why it is — after nearly 50 years — one of the most powerful and distinctive in the business.

Buckingham delivered leads that nearly burned down the hall, while adding a richness to the mix with consistently sophisticated guitar work.

Nicks sounded terrific, avoiding the annoying and taxing signature tremolo and concentrating on the natural emotion in her voice. Gypsy particularly showcased her maturing instrument with a succulent delivery.

Though she was more energized than during her last visit, she nonetheless was slowed, rarely moving away from the mike and only a couple of times venturing to Buckingham’s side of the stage. Even though her trademark spin was reduced to about 16 RPM during Gypsy, any movement nonetheless elicited raves.

Buckingham not only led the group firmly but was the artistic center. A dissertation about taking musical chances was followed by a few selections from Tusk. The singer’s declaration of the album’s originality hit the mark, even if he neglected to mention that its commercial failure nearly sank the record industry.

The new material boded well for the future, especially Sad Angel, which will be released in an upcoming EP. Interestingly, Without You was an old song the group forgot but rediscovered in a YouTube video.

The albums 4 million in sales hardly nearly sank the record industry. So not true.

Heavy persuasion. It was hard to breathe.

It was a great show. Everyone seemed smiley and happy (heaven knows that will change) and there was plenty of energy. Even if we didn’t get as many new songs as we’d hoped, the reprised ones (including NTF, EOTW and, the somewhat dreaded Say Goodbye) were welcome old friends.

John walked out first and I don’t know why he ever dyed his hair, the white hair and beard go so well with his shirt and cap. His dark brows framing his aging features gracefully.

Stevie and Lindsey emerge, meeting in the middle. He kisses her hand. Stevie is in her sunglasses. Despite all the votes we cast, Lindsey chose a black tee.

SHN: I think that’s a great song to start off with. Full of energy. Everyone knows it. You can’t go wrong there.

I look at the stage, Brett and his keyboard are set way off to the back. He’s hidden behind the equipment. I think of the people going to the London show. If you walk into the arena and you see the piano near the FRONT of the stage, then that’s when you die. Just say your prayers as soon as you set eyes on that prominent piano, because you’re going to heaven soon.

The Chain: Both Stevie and Lindsey stand over to the side, Stevie squeezes way over to the edge of the stage, to give John the spotlight for his solo.

Stevie takes the mic. She says this is the first of 50+ shows and, of course, they wanted to welcome us. There will never be another night like this show – I hold my breath, thinking this may be a Christine announcement – but Stevie only concludes that this is a unique night because it’s the first show they’ve done in three years. “The party starts now!”

DREAMS.

Lindsey takes the mic and says that as Stevie says it’s been a little more than 3 years since they’ve convened to do this. You wouldn’t think that after all this time they would still have things to work out, but they do. This just keeps evolving. He says they’ve been in the studio producing a lot of new material and he doesn’t know what they’re going to do with all of it. But it’s the best stuff they’ve done in a long time [where have we heard that before?] He says they’re going to be releasing an EP in the next few days [where have we heard that before?]

SAD ANGEL. This song starts with a beat. It’s catchy. It’s everything I didn’t think it would be. It’s better than Without You, to my ears. Stevie and Lindsey look at each other as they sing. There’s a video playing in the background, displaying pictures of assorted angels. Angel statues. Those of you who watch Doctor Who know that this is NOT a good thing. Don’t blink, people!

I can’t really hear the words to the song. It sounds like they are asking Sad Angel if she’s come to find the lord. But don’t hold me to that.

This song has a long guitar solo ending. In fact, at one point I thought it might never end. It seems to be over, but then comes roaring back to life. Stevie runs off the stage afterwards and I think Lindsey is going to do something like Big Love, but no, she went to get dressed for ... Rhiannon!

Rhiannon! Ends with the pencil drawing of the Welsh Witch on the screen.

LB takes the mic and starts talking about axioms. He notes that there’s one in show business that says if something works run it into the ground and he feels this is not a good formula for someone aspiring to be an artist over the long term. Well, I agree with you, man, but this is still the Rumours tour, so take a cold shower in those skinny pants and get real.

He says that sometimes you have to subvert the if-it-ain’t- broke-don’t-fix-it mentality and Tusk is a good example of having done that. Tusk remains a guide to what he aspired and still aspires to be.

Not That Funny sounds great. It’s not long as it was for Mirage. There’s no drum solo. It just moves like a locomotive and as he spits the words out, “Don’t blame me,” I still hear true defiance and rebellion. I didn’t want to be this late, but don’t make me wait. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Tusk. The video playing behind it shows tribal images.

Oh, as the first notes begin, SISTERS OF THE MOON is unmistakable. What a thrill. Stevie circles the mic with her hands and sings “sisters” into the hollow. Hey, it doesn’t have the frenzy of 1982, but it still says rock concert and I don’t know why anyone who wrote this song would sing Rock and Roll. Out of this world. Lindsey doesn’t get to sing his line. Poor guy. I want to wrap him in velvet. Stevie’s spotlight goes off while she’s still singing the final “sister of the moon” and it’s rather witchy and fitting.

Sara. I think this song is still beautiful, especially during those brief seconds where they sing in unison. “I think I had met my match, he was singing” they say. Then, as one they say, “I’d stay at home at night all the time. I’d go anywhere, anywhere, anywhere . . .” The song is just so moody, without there being a goodbye in it. Desperate, without containing a plea. It doesn’t matter if someone is losing a lover or a baby, you just sense the understated sorrow. So, she goes over to his mic and he steps back to give her room and when she turns he moves and she just puts a hand on his shoulder before leaving. Sublime.

Big Love. Hmmm. Somehow Lindsey has no trouble remembering that the song was written in 1987. Must’ve have taken pills for that. He shakes his hands before starting. Let’s his fingers fight each other and smiles. He makes eyes with the people in front, purses his lips. Charms. A white sheath drops down from the ceiling and his image is projected onto it as his fingers fly.

Landslide. Lindsey had to go and check the setlist to make sure this was the next song. Ha, we were kidding a few weeks ago and some Buck fans said they would leave during this one, but they didn’t budge at all. And why would you when he is standing there playing behind her LIKE A BOSS? I’m surprised that Stevie doesn’t dedicate the song to anyone beforehand. You hear the crowd singing all the words, thousands of voices filling the venue.

Just before the landslide brings her down, Lindsey blows Stevie a kiss and wipes his face as she pauses. She holds up her hand. He presses his against it and then their fingers clasp. She finishes and she applauds the audience back, as they serenade her.

Never Going Back Again. Lindsey hasn’t listened to us. He still insists on drawing out the notes. But absence makes the heart grow fonder and I love an arrangement that I don’t even like, just because I haven’t heard it in awhile.

They bring out Mick’s mini drum kit and put it down on the floor, near the front of the stage. Stevie comes to the mic and says that the next song has a great and funny story. She says she goes on and on in her own shows, but she doesn’t get to talk as much in FM shows.

This is actually the first song of theirs that Mick heard, which made him know that he wanted them in the band. [Hey, I don’t appreciate Frozen Love being frozen out like that. Don’t change a story that has become part of FM lore.] Well, Mick wanted Lindsey in the band but “package deal” Stevie says, with a laugh. The song may have been written in 1974, but she thinks the poem was written in 1971, even before they came to Los Angeles. They found the video, where else? Of course, on Youtube in 2010. [Man you didn’t send Lori back to Arizona to look for it?] She says that their Buckingham Nicks album had just hit the ground “NOT running” and they were preparing for a second BN album. She thinks it’s one of the nicest songs she has ever written about “the two of us” and it reminds her of what a great time they had growing up together in San Francisco. Without You.

I’m not overcome by the song, but I’m very glad to have this new version and I want it to stay in the setlist. At the end when they say “ah ah ah ah ah” she holds up her fingers and counts each “ah,” all 5 of them, out at him.

Gypsy. The video behind them has two girls playing on the beach.

EOTW. I don’t know why, but this surprised me. We actually have one song from each of the albums. And I’m so happy that they did that. The video behind them just shows a series of eyes. What I want some of you to tell me is whether you saw Christine’s eyes in there too. I can’t say. Tell me what you think. Mick’s bulging orbs stand out the most, because you actually see more than his eyes. You see more of his face. But for everyone else, there are just EYES, EYES, EYES.

Gold Dust Woman. The video behind them has a woman in water, under water, drowning in the golden waves. Stevie ends the song with “you should see me now, you can’t feel me now” and then goes on to “you can’t save me.” And she chants “you can’t save me,” “you can’t save me,” “you can’t save me” her voice takes on a plaintive, almost childish tone. And with the woman in the video being submerged behind her, it’s really a wonderful image of someone going under, out of reach.

I’m so Afraid. Oh my goodness. Some were born Perfect, some just become that. If there were three young Buckinghams in the audience, I hope they were proud, because I sure was. Tour de force.

Stand Back. What’s really cool is there is a Stevie look alike in the video behind her and she is thrashing about, seeming to fall, and then when Stevie does her spin, then the model disappears and it’s the real Stevie up on the screen spinning. Very effective. It’s like you traveled back in time and returned to the present with her. And, not to be pervy, but Stevie was looking mighty cute from behind. Short boots, tights, short skirt with a split. She looked very hip.

She runs offstage, to go get dressed for GYOW. During the song, Lindsey stops on both sides of the stage and in the middle to let people play his guitar.

They all leave the stage, Mick returns first, then John, Stevie and Lindsey, from opposite sides. They bow.

World Turning. I have no idea what Mick was muttering. But I think it’s much more effective when he keeps playing at his drum kit, rather than using the drum vest. I mean, the song is meant to showcase his talent and the vest doesn’t. Lindsey sits to the side. Then stands, looking on. Then, Stevie comes out and they march to the stage with alacrity, then to their mics to resume singing.

Lindsey introduces the one, the only Mick Fleetwood. Mick introduces Sharon, Lori, Neale and Brett. To his left is Lindsey Buckingham. “One of the world’s greatest guitarists.” One of them? You can do better than that, Mick. Mick introduces Stevie as their “main lady on stage.” Hmmm. Well, as long as you aren’t implying that Lindsey is a lady too.

He introduces John, "way back in the boonies", as the backbone of the band.

Don’t Stop.

Silver Springs. Now, I didn’t notice when Stevie took off her sunglasses, but they aren’t on by this time. It’s a very lovely close to the evening. Stevie obviously thinks so too, because she grabs John’s hand and tries to pull him over to take their group bow, but Lindsey is standing there across from her with his hands on his hips. Has she forgotten something? Stevie convulses in giggles. And I know that Silver Springs wasn’t destined to be the end of the show. They all leave the stage and return.

Stevie comes to the mic and says this is a beautiful song of Lindsey’s and she just LOVES to sing it. Yeah, you love to sing it so much you tried to sneak off the stage and back to the hotel without performing it, didn’t you?

After that introduction about it being a song of Lindsey’s that she loves to sing, I think the song is going to be “Miss Fantasy” but then Lindsey bursts my bubble by saying that it’s a song that he wrote 10 years ago. Not really Lindsey, unless you think 1997 was 10 years ago.

He says that Stevie said the nicest song she wrote about him was way back in the seventies (BURN). It may have even been before they got to Los Angeles know, right? She hasn’t had a nice thought about you since then. It’s got to hurt]. But he has written a really nice song about her somewhat more recently than THAT. He says it’s a song about getting closure. They’ve been getting along really well now and rehearsals went well and he thinks they may really be as close now than they ever have been since the seventies. [Don’t speak too soon, Linds. Tours tend to take a turn for the worse].

As the song ends and he gets “just a dream, within a dream” he puts a little catch in his voice. It may be manufactured, but it’s moving nonetheless.

They all bow. He kisses her hair, as he did several times during the night. I saw him whispering into it when they returned after an encore and she answered “O.K.” to whatever he said.

Lindsey darts off the stage first. John and Stevie leave from the other side. Mick closes telling us to be good to each other.

A great night. I wasn’t disappointed by the setlist. I think the sequencing was crisp. There was never a lull, nothing to be gotten through. A night of triumph, from my perspective.

As Dido says: I’m in love and always will be.

Has she forgotten something? Stevie convulses in giggles. And I know that Silver Springs wasn’t destined to be the end of the show. They all leave the stage and return.

As Dido says: I’m in love and always will be.

Did you notice Stevie's gesture when she came out w/out glasses? She made a joke of it with her fingers in circles round her eyes.

From my angle it looked like Stevie pulled John over for a bow but then Mick hopped behind his kit so the others paused then wandered of. Funny.

Thanks for the write-up...glad you made the show.

Yes, I saw Stevie do that, but I didn't see when the glasses first came off. Lindsey and Mick were both telling Stevie it wasn't the end of the show. I don't know what John thought.

Oh, I thought it was cute at the end when someone in the audience had flowers for Stevie and Lindsey took them to her before hurrying off the stage himself. I think he had a bus to catch.

Say Goodbye is oddly placed and people around us didn't seem to know or get into it.

To be honest, I thought the show should have ended with Silver Springs.

But then I have to appreciate the fact that SYW was represented by one song, so . . . I'll applaud Say Goodbye for that, if for nothing else. It makes Lindsey happy, I guess.

Concert review | Fleetwood Mac: First tour stop had it all
Band in fine form as it satisfies crowd in Nationwide

Oh, it's great that the first review is such a flattering one:blob2:. Thanks for finding and posting it so fast.

That's nonsense about Tusk sinking the music industry. Give me a break.

Notes:

% Features Mick Fleetwood drum solo.

This was the 2013 tour opener. Features the live debuts of "Sad Angel" & "Without You".
Also, the first performance of "Sisters Of The Moon" in a very, very long time. Stevie
made sure to make mention of that.

The show was fantastic. Usually w/ tour openers there are glitches, screw-ups, technical
malfunctions, etc. But opening night went off without a hitch. I had personally never
seen Fleetwood Mac, so this was a treat for me. I was supposed to see and tape them in
the fall of 2004 but something else came up. The morning of this concert, I pulled up
ticketmaster and 10 rows back in front of the right stack was staring back at me. The
pricetag of $170 was awfully steep, but what the hell, it was worth it. They blew me
away. Not sure if I will be seeing and taping them again at that price, tho! I included
some of my personal photos as well as some I stole off of instagram.com :) Please feel
free to create cover art and share this recording with as many FM fans as possible, just
make sure to include this txt file. Thank you and enjoy!!

Re. the setlist, most excited about "Sisters" and "Not That Funny". Could do without "Stand Back", "Eyes of the World", "World Turning", "Don't Stop". Maybe only one of "Gypsy and "Sara" would suffice (they could alternate nights!). Five more slots for "The Ledge", "Angel" (way more fun than "Stand Back"! but maybe not as easy to sing any more), "I Know I'm Not Wrong", "Miranda", "Destiny Rules" etc.

That said I'm still excited to hear like 20 of these songs, so not a bad deal. And if they're well performed that's the biggest issue for me, if everyone sounds good and the songs are living up to reasonable potential. Glad the reviews seem positive for opening night. Fleetwood Mac seems to always come with their quirks but if it sounds good, I'll be pleased. It'll be my first concert so I'm hoping the good times are really rolling by the time they get around to my neck of the woods.

Hope everyone who attended had fun.

Sad Angel is a perfect little song. I really dig it.
I'm very pleased with the setlist. If playing 2 new songs, and Say goodbye as the last song isn't taking a risk...though i believe it will disappear quickly. I hope not. (i'm sure Elle is really happy right now ). I'm glad Eyes of the world, Sisters and Not that Funny made it.
Was Stevie's mike adjusted this time? I remember on the Unleashed tour you couldn't hear her at all during the first few songs and it was very annoying.
And thank you Michelle. If there was a Fleetwood mac fans hierarchy, you would be at the top.

I totally dig the Tusk "4 pack" in the set list. Not sure what everyone was expecting but this set is bolder than I anticipated. Whether it stays in tact remains to be seen.

????????????????? bolder?????? what are you talking about? it's UL setlist with just 2 out of 3 new songs, SOTM and NTF, plus SG tacked at the end.

i'm not happy and made it clear to Lindsey. told him we need Walk A Thin Line. he told me to stand back and that he needs a little sympathy :p

"oh come on Sisters of The Moon and Not That Funny make a return along with Sad Angel and Without You plus Say Goodbye which was skipped last time. Those are not regular staples and thus have given 5 songs not regularly performed. It may not be 10 songs but it's not like they only changed 1 song. I say that's a fair compromise to cater to everyone's needs"

"I actually don't mind this setlist. The "special" songs they put in are all some of my favorites."

"Just for the record, I like this set list. With the "Without You," "Sad Angel," and "Sisters of the Moon" - I am happy to get anything different. Also, I think "Say Goodbye" will be a good closer. I've also never seen "Not that Funny" live."

"In a world that is less self-absorbed than just one person's desires. A song not done in 30 + years that most people have never seen live and that could damage someone's voice the way they sang it the last time and yet venture to try it now is indeed a risk. And whatever new way they perform the song now may suck to you but could very well be awesome to me. You may say you are underwhelmed and I may say I'm excited but you can not say it is not a risk to do that song. Adding the other new ones (Without You is also new as far as a live song) only sweetens the pot. Sorry you are underwhelmed but relevance is by opinion"

"I am just happy that they are back together again, touring, singing my personal favorite song (SOTM) that I never thought I would ever get a chance to see live. And that they are recording new music. If I don't get it, then ok, they didn't want me to have it...
But right now, I couldn't be more excited to see my favorite band live from the front row late next month.
I just hope that we can all be happy that they haven't closed the door on FM and all called it quits."

I, for one, could not agree more with the above posts. I haven't posted on this message board in ages, and I can see why. It's really sad to me to see what The Ledge has become. I was one of the early members of this site waaaay back in it's hey day, and remember how exciting it would be to watch the posts come in on the night of a new tour beginning. The overwhelming majority of members on here were so excited and were filled with true FM fans! Not tonight though. Now, sadly, the Ledge is filled with a bunch of negative complainers. We got two completely new songs tonight as well as some songs that haven't been done in ages. And the hits that are in the setlist are those that true fans would be thrilled to hear. Oh and let's not forget that tons of artists who were around in the '60s and '70s haven't even toured in years for their fans. But are the majority of "fans" on here happy about any of that? Nooooo, they decide to bitch and complain the whole time instead. Sorry if I brought the party down, but I was SO eager to get on tonight to read reviews, see the setlist and get pumped up for the at least two shows that I will be happy to see on this tour. Instead, I had to wade through a plethora of negativity...it's truly sickening and I only hope that The Ledge can return to what it once was.

So:
17 of the songs were also on Unleashed.
18 of the songs were also on SYW.
15 of the songs were also on The Dance…
… And incredibly, 15 of the songs were also on Mirage.

So basically FM has been playing pretty much the same concert for 30 years. I find that almost pathetic.

I was under the impression that fans would rather see Lindsey play Crystal rather than I'm So Afraid, or Stevie sing Straight Back rather than Gypsy for the millionth time. Sure, we all like the hits and a concert must have some old favorites. But there's a difference between this and doing almost the same "greatest hits" concert for 30 years.

It's amazing indeed!
I've had expected a slow and sad song due to the title, and that would've been absolutely ok.

Now I'm really stunned that it is such an upbeat and fresh tune! :blob2:

It sounds a bit like "Mirage"-era IMO. And I think that it would have been one of the highlights there! :D

Sad Angel: Kinda sounds like a Lindsey Buckingham solo song circa SWS (unfortunately); I have no idea what they are on about (lyrics).

Without You: OMG, Stevie no longer has a voice at all. Why is this news to me?
They can no longer harmonize. And when did Without You become a Lindsey song? Amazing...

SOTM: The song still rocks. But that was one lazy vocal.

*note: clearly this is all based sub-par bootleg recordings.

Jesus, if Sad Angel is any measure of quality about the stuff they recorded, they NEED to do an album and not just an EP, like ASAP.

And to TrueFaith, yeah Stevie's voice has sunk pretty bad but hey, it happens to the best of them but I think it's the same as for tours since early 2000's, she just needs time to warm it up and it'll get progressively better throughout the tour (hopefully).

This is the ONLY reason that I sometimes regret FM touring. All of the Lindsey fans start the Stevie voice bashing. The woman has been on tour for about 2 years straight almost. I would think that is her voice was going to give out that it would have by now. While her voice isnt at the octave and range that it used to be, she sounds great on the samples I heard from last night to me. Without You is not stellar by any means but I personally dont think Lindsey sounds too great on it either. The rest of what I have heard sounds pretty awesome...on both of their parts.

I personally LOVE SOTM. It is much more mature sounding and she didnt go for a high note or two, but so what? Overall it was still very solid and has that mystical almost creepy quality to it.

Oh I personally like Stevie more than Lindsey but it has gotten significantly.....not worse, but more noticeable within the past few years. Speaking of, downloaded the bootleg. Literally spit my drink out of my mouth when Lindsey flubbed the first line of The Chain and everyone else seems affected by it.... "Listen to the wind bloooooow, down...... sun rise." LMAO Oh man, so funny. But holy hell does he make up for it when he starts riffing after the bass solo. Jesus, I cannot wait for this....

At the moment I still prefer the old demo version on youtube, but that might change the more I listen to the new take. ;)

Just had a quick listen to to boot. Silver Springs has been lowered from C to B, so i wouldn't be surprised to see it as a staple now, as opposed to a part time song. Eyes of the World's now in G. And Don't Stop remains in E. I believe they tried in in D on the last tour, but it sounded horrible, so i guess they just do the best they can with the original high key.

Without You... WOW! I was totally rolling my eyes at this song being drug out of the vaults. I honestly have always found it dull, and didn't think there's any way Stevie & Lindsey could pull off the harmonies these days. But they totally nailed it! It's fantastic!! It's making me smile so much to listen to it! This song really should be recorded & released.

I've been trying to figure out the words to Sad Angel:

My eyes will consume all the silence in the room
Your dreams will not wait for the words that we pray (?)

Hello, hello Sad Angel
Have you come to fight the war?
Here comes survival calling (?)
My soul marches out the door
I thought we heard together (?)
The crowd calling out for more
Hello, hello Sad Angel
Have you come to fight the war?

My eyes saw the words with a prayer and a curse (?)
The pain had to sleep with a sore that it keeps (?)

I'm reasonably sure that that is CLOSE, but the ones I have question marks by I can't really hear very well.

How much is that poster? That's probably the only thing I'd spring for.

I want more details on the meet and greet, por favor! (want to know what I'm in for;-)

The poster is $20.

I agree. It sounds pretty good and would make a great single. I'm sure the recorded version will be tight and have a bit of a folksy flair. Great choice for a vault song.

I feel like SOTM could've been better, Stevie sounded a bit unsure but she got more into it towards te end. I think this 2013 version can grow, I just hope they give it a chance and don't drop it.
Without You was great! I was never a fan of the demo but this live version is great!

Soooo since they said the set would be 24 songs, what are we thinking is the song that got dropped? I'm guessing they tried out Hold Me and it just didn't work...

Or Soldier's Angel since Stevie kept tooting her own horn about that.

That's nonsense about Tusk sinking the music industry. Give me a break.

Michele

Lazy journalism! Writers just reiterate and perpetuate these old notions for dramatic effect. I'm curious to know why Tusk, in particular gets such prominent wrath? Certainly there are many other artists' albums more rightfully deserving of that!

Perhaps it's because the album was intensely anticipated after the huge success of Rumours. When the album defied popular expectations, and sales figures didn't match the unreasonable amounts of their previous album, it was universally deemed as a failure, seemingly serving as a prime example of what a band should not do.

Tusk was one the boldest move ever made in the history of Fleetwood Mac. It's taken a long time for critics (and some fans) to warm up to it and understand it for what it is and what it represents. It's the dark horse that has garnered new-found respect decades after it's release. Lots of people (including popular musicians) are still intrigued by it.

Art is sucessful when it provokes disparate reactions. Tusk succeeds on that level.

I can not even begin to write an elaborate detailed review, like Michelle did (great job btw!). So I will stick with an abbrivieated one.

I had tix for the nose bleed section and when I got to the top, the Very nice lady asked if I was alone. Of course I was this time and she gave me a tix for the Club Level. :blob2: (I had considered earlier trying to go to the box office to get an upgrade, but figured it was a lost cause). So, I was Happy!

The couple next to me wasn't very chatty, it looked like a mom and son. But the real embarrasment was the two drunk chicks behind me. They would sing every sixth line of Dreams really loud (and bad)...and then NOT know the next line. Hey, at least they "remembered" John's name on his bass part "Chain". Then Sad Angel, I was the sad one b/c these drunkees exclaimed "Yeah, It's a New Song!" and then NO one clapped or cheered when it was over. By Rhiannon, when I heard them behind my scream at the top of their lungs "Yeaahhhhhh", I had to get outta there and like a pious, FM snob, I went to another (boring-casual) area.

Anyway, on to the real show...Second Hand News was a great opener! I nearly choaked when LB screwed up the Chain line. But all is forgivin :D. Sad Angel exceeded my expectations.....I LOVED IT! Hope the band feels the same way! (I know LB does). I was impressed with the Tusk trio or (4) what's the word? Sara was even a decent version. I loved Sisters but was annoyed (just a little) by Stevie's repiticious "Sisters". Overall, Great Effort!

Loved that Gypsy made an appearance and I was a little dumb-founded with Without You. To me it sounded like an overdubbed recording  I'm sad to say this was the stinker of the night.

Tusk, Eyes, NTF, GDW, SB, GYOW were all tight and sounded GREAT!

Mick and LB was euthuesastic and eager as Always! John in his own words "I'm just the bass player" didn't disappoint. I was impressed with Nicks' performance, of course being the Opening night, I would expect her to be in top form. She even seemed and sounded Happy to be there! Let's hope she keeps up the momentum.

It looks like the Mac has released 13 more dates (as of yesterday). For those of you that (I still have your attention in this exhausting review) are contemplating whether or not to go, This IS a GREAT SHOW! Even if you are just there for the music and a fun night out with one of our favorite bands, the $50+ is well money spent. Even if I had sat in nose-bleed, I still would be writing this, it is a great rock performance by Legends, warts and all.

Support your favorite bands/Artists, Go and have a great time with lifetime memories!

I noticed that too. I'm not sure if she just messed up and sang that by accident (since she'd just sung it right before) or if she decided to ditch "all I ever wanted..."

Interesting.

I agree with the long post regarding their age, expected stage antics etc. Compared to many other concerts I've been to this year they are giving a much longer show than most if not all I can remember. At there age it is amazing to me to have them rock a 2 1/2 hour concert for 70 shows +-. Very enjoyable performance last night and a very young crowd. Many teenagers and 20 somethings on the floor and sides. Sad angel was fantastic..can not wait for more new music.

I was there last night, it was awesome!

It was great to see Without You and I loved it, but I think it falls flat to some because it needs a bridge with a small guitar part or solo. They followed the demo so closely, I think it would really benefit from some of Lindsey's finishing touches.

Thanks for your positive post and POV. I don't think that any "review" here was at all negative. Thinking that only Myself and Michele has posted. The other commentary was about how much we ENJOYED Sad Angel AND Sisters, with a little bit of constructive criticism. I won't defend myself any more on Without You, b/c to my ear (LIVE) it did sound recorded...but after listening to it on YouTube, it doesn't sound BAD.

btw, IS this Karen???

If so, I would like to state that us "die hard" fans would LOVE a more intimate (smaller) setting that would SELL OUT. Therefore we can continue to enjoy the Greatest band in Rock History without having to endure the "casuals" in their drunkenness that insist on sloppy serenading Stevie with a half-baked, haphazardly versions of Dreams and Landslide.

I pay Good $ to hear the band perform....not to hear drunk Soccer Moms and white trash that "win" tickets for "that" band that is famous for "Go Your Own Way".

That being said, perhaps Stevie and the band wouldn't be so "insecure" in a more intimate setting knowing that their true "die-hard" fans shell out the bucks to hear deep-cuts and rarities that the "casual" fan would rebuke and run to the bathroom for. Let me compile a list of GREAT songs that the band could still realistically perform in this type of set-up:

Crystal
California Dreaming
(any BN/FM demo 73-80)
Frozen Love
Don't Let Me Down
Sorcerer
Without A Leg to Stand On
Blue Letter
I Don't Want To Know
I Know I'm Not Wrong
Angel
Save Me A Place
That's Enough For Me
Walk A Thin Line
The Ledge
Holiday Road
That's Alright
Straight Back
Can't Go Back
Fireflies
Doesn't Anything Last
Cool Water
Tango In The Night
Seven Wonders
Down Endless Street
Caroline
No Questions Asked
Freedom
Affairs of the Heart
Make Me a Mask
Twisted
If You Ever Did Believe
Murrow Turning Over
Thrown Down
Smile At You
Destiny Rules
Running Through the Garden
Love Minus Zero
Not Make Believe

That's just a small sample of what the Great Band is capable of. I'm sure most die-hards would agree that most of these songs would be welcomed additions to a more adventurous set list.

I agree with you, that I am ever-so Grateful that the band and (solo artists) are still with us and share their gifts every so often. May they live long and even more prosperous lives. I also agree that Us, as fans and consumers that Support the Band in all their endevours deserve the right to be HEARD, regardless if our opinions are popular or not.

Stevie always sounds way worse on opening night of a fleetwood Mac tour. Oddly enough it does only apply to Mac tours. I don't recognize this curse on her tours. But watch any song from Pittsburgh march 1st 2009. Stevie's vocals were horrible. But by mid march, they had improved 100 percent. And there's no denying they'll have to improve again from what I've heard.

dark stevie, I totally agree with your post! FM sounds and looks amazing to me for as long as they have been going almost 40 years now. I am thrilled to even get new music, even if a couple of songs at this point in their career. Which to me shows they want to do it for the fans too. Totally looooove Sad Angel, not at all what I expected, thought it would be a slower song, but what a great surprise! Yeah, they still got "IT"!

That being said, perhaps Stevie and the band wouldn't be so "insecure" in a more intimate setting knowing that their true "die-hard" fans shell out the bucks to hear deep-cuts and rarities that the "casual" fan would rebuke and run to the bathroom for. Let me compile a list of GREAT songs that the band could still realistically perform in this type of set-up:

Crystal
California Dreaming
(any BN/FM demo 73-80)
Frozen Love
Don't Let Me Down
Sorcerer
Without A Leg to Stand On
Blue Letter
I Don't Want To Know
I Know I'm Not Wrong
Angel
Save Me A Place
That's Enough For Me
Walk A Thin Line
The Ledge
Holiday Road
That's Alright
Straight Back
Can't Go Back
Fireflies
Doesn't Anything Last
Cool Water
Tango In The Night
Seven Wonders
Down Endless Street
Caroline
No Questions Asked
Freedom
Affairs of the Heart
Make Me a Mask
Twisted
If You Ever Did Believe
Murrow Turning Over
Thrown Down
Smile At You
Destiny Rules
Running Through the Garden
Love Minus Zero
Not Make Believe

That's just a small sample of what the Great Band is capable of. I'm sure most die-hards would agree that most of these songs would be welcomed additions to a more adventurous set list.

That's a fantastic list that shows what a phenomenal repertoire FM have. That they ignore it and decide to play 2/3 of Rumours and the White Album for the upteenth time makes me so angry I'm almost relieved I can't go to any of the shows.

While it would be great to hear many of those, that set-list has nearly 40 songs. It's simply too much. They're already playing for close to 2-3 hours with the 23 (?) they do.

I'm just happy they are still playing, honestly. I'm excited to hear the new songs and I'll be excited to hear all the rest, too.

On one of the videos of Sad Angel on YouTube I spotted an extra percussionist a la Rinkov. He was at Micks lefthand side, behind a pile of guitaramps. Come on Mick, you don't need that.

I saw Rinkov before the show, but I didn't see his set up during. I figured though.

I have to say, I'm so glad Stevie ditched the hideous leather finger-less gloves with dangling bling..lol those things are the worst. Yes, I know her hands look old- but honestly no-one is paying attention to that and the look fine to me..Hope they stay gone.

She had them on later in the night. They were black fingerless leather with rhinestone cuffs.

They should play every town two times if there should be another tour ever again. On the first day, they could play a "Greatest Hits"-set. On the second day, they could play a "Forgotten Gems"-set.

;)

But seriously: I am lucky about the set list, though I am still aching that we won't hear any "Tango In The Night"-songs beside "Big Love".

I would love to see them live even if they were just playing a set full of cover versions. ;)

Obviously I wasn't expecting them to play all of these songs. I consider this list a sample of their repertoire, not a concert setlist :) Not even Bruce can pull 40 songs in one night :D
I just think it'd be much more interesting if they paid more attention to these songs and less attention to their big radio hits.

I'm jealous of the New Yorkers. It's hard to do that big city so early in the tour, but I know FM will bring it hard and I'd love to witness that.

oh come on Sisters of The Moon and Not That Funny make a return along with Sad Angel and Without You plus Say Goodbye which was skipped last time. Those are not regular staples and thus have given 5 songs not regularly performed. It may not be 10 songs but it's not like they only changed 1 song. I say that's a fair compromise to cater to everyone's needs

Seriously. We all have songs we would like them to add, but they can only do so many deep tracks without alienating most of the audience who would much rather hear Landslide than some obscure track from TITTN. As long as they put in a few deep tracks, I'm happy. Let's be fair, folks, and not get all outraged because the entire set wasn't composed of Buckingham Nicks songs and B-sides. I mean we got freaking WITHOUT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A freaking Buckingham Nicks demo!!!!!!!!!!! How can you say they are not being bold when they're doing a song like that?!

And I, for one, would be extremely disappointed if I didn't hear the awesomeness that is "I'm So Afraid."

I hope the reaction to Sad Angel that Stevie saw was enthusiastic enough for her. Not everyone hates new music -- although the people around you would have proven her fears true! So wonderful that you got the club level ticket!

Been a long time since I posted, but seriously folks, exactly what Nancy wrote is so spot on. These are 60 year old plus people that are going far back into their catalog and debuting new music, not to a small group of like minded people, but to an audience of 15,000 each night!

LOL, I love you WildEyed and WildHearted! That's Not a suggested set-list, per se. Just a collection of the songs (3-5, at best) Or 10 for us die hards, that "Could" be incorporated into the show, along with some hits.

Throw us a bone....we ARE the ones who buy Every CD (reIssue upon reIssue), attend concerts and buy the frivilous merchindise, buy the DVD's, "making ofs", Books, etc.

This is NOT in any way a deversion to my Original post. I enjoyed the show a Great deal. Glad they are healthy and still performing. Just commentary to observations on how other posters think we die hards should be grateful. I am grateful, I pay good money to support my favorite band and reserve the right to post an honest opinion here.

This is the ONLY reason that I sometimes regret FM touring. All of the Lindsey fans start the Stevie voice bashing. While her voice isnt at the octave and range that it used to be, she sounds great on the samples I heard from last night to me. Without You is not stellar by any means but I personally dont think Lindsey sounds too great on it either.

This Chiff totally disagrees with you. Lindsey sounds wonderful on Without You and his smooth, clear vocal drowns hers out completely. I know her voice sounds great live nowadays but on this song she sings it flat and dull. I bet it is gonna get dropped.

The Examiner by Chad Hobbs, April 5, 2013
http://www.examiner.com/review/fleetwood-mac-kicks-off-tour-at-nationwide-arena

Fleetwood Mac returned to the stage for the first time in over three years at Columbus' Nationwide Arena tonight. The quartet, having long lost fifth member Christine McVie to retirement, looked and sounded as good as ever as they played 23 songs over two and a half hours which included two encores. Celebrating their landmark album, Rumours, the band highlighted the set list with 7 tracks from the record. Tusk and the self titled album were both well represented also.

Adding to the set list were some new music, a Stevie Nicks solo hit, and a few songs from the Mirage and the Tango in the Night albums. Lindsey Buckingham easily highlighted the show with his ridiculous and underrated ability to play the guitar with songs such as "Big Love" and the chilling "I'm So Afraid". Not only is he vastly underrated, but the passion and energy that he pours into his music is more apparent than most other artists could even aspire to portray. Stevie Nicks dazzled as well with her timeless voice and iconic stage presence; especially on songs like "Rhiannon"; "Gold Dust Woman"; "Landslide"; and "Silver Springs".

I'm So Afraid.

Not to be forgotten, the thumping backbeat provided by founding members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are the heart and soul of the band. McVie's legendary bass riff leading into the guitar solo in "The Chain" is easily one of my most anticipated parts of any song I've ever heard. Fleetwood's work behind the kit also might tend to get lost with the spotlight out front on Nicks and Buckingham but with a closer listen you can't help but notice the seriousness and heavy hitting going on in songs like "Tusk" and how, in perfect harmony with the bass lines, it compliments Buckingham and Nicks' work up front.

Having never seen Fleetwood Mac, I had been anticipating this moment for well over a decade, probably since my dad first introduced me to the The Dance live album and I first heard "I'm So Afraid". While the band members are well into their sixties now, you couldn't tell that by the sound coming from the stage tonight, as Fleetwood Mac brought it, just as I knew they would. Supremely confident, yet professionally humble; the band delighted the 16,000 or so in attendance on the opening night of a tour that is going to hit over sixty cities worldwide.

Hell, I'd prefer "Welcome To The Room...Sara" because it's never been done live, it's never been considered a hit, she can still hit those notes, and it wouldn't tarnish an otherwise impeccable image I have of a song.

Yeah, it would be hard to tarnish a song that is already painful to listen to in its original recorded version. Self-indulgent rambling that borders on incoherence.

I know, I know, a matter of opinion.

Lindsey's stomach wouldn't be so big if he would stop wearing tight pants that give him a raging muffin top.

Give 'em a rest Lindsey.

It's a trade off. He doesn't have a belly with the looser pants but we get a baggy backside. The tighter ones emphasize his butt nicely.

I feel like SOTM could've been better, Stevie sounded a bit unsure but she got more into it towards te end. I think this 2013 version can grow, I just hope they give it a chance and don't drop it.
Without You was great! I was never a fan of the demo but this live version is great!

Did I hear an acoustic guitar playing during SOTM, if so, kill it. It waters the song down.

Stevie only sang a line of it in one of the interviews, but what she sang had nothing of the tempo we hear in the actual song. I thought it would be a slow song. I thought it might even be about her mother's death. And then when she sang that line, it sounded rather somber in keeping with the assumptions I'd been forming.

As I learned with Everybody Loves You, you can't tell anything by a song snippet, especially since the snippet Stevie gave us was acapella. But, to me, nothing I heard of the song or about it presaged an upbeat number was coming.

I just wish it had been released before the concert so we would know the words and they could have seen the audience singing along.

I guess I missed that interview and I don't remember exactly what was said in the interviews I did read, but I was expecting an upbeat number. I'd have to go look through the interviews to understand why I came to that conclusion. The other song "Miss Fantasy" too. I was under the impression that both were uptempo.

And I agree. They definitely should've released the song before the tour started.

Lindsey would do a version of that "on the ground" remix, with Brett controlling the dubbed vocals on his solo tour. I liked it when Lindsey stood up at that point from his dark corner of the stage and started mouthing the words to the sound of his own voice singing.

I was not at the show.

However, I just read all 28 pages of this thread, every post, and I have a couple observations to share.

This happens with every tour - there are people who are disappointed, and I believe this is rightfully so. We've been fans for a *long* time. We know how vast the Fleetwood Mac catalog is, and we know all too well how little of this material ever sees the stage. Maybe 1 fifth? 1 sixth? Even less? We've heard the staples too many times - and maybe it's our own fault for seeing too many shows over the years.

On the other side, you have the fans who chastise anyone who dares to express a dissenting point of view. They're either complete and total fanbois who believe the Mac can do no wrong, or more often, newer fans who have not seen the band before and can't imagine why anyone would not want to hear *insert any song here* again for the 40th time. They often love every song unconditionally, and typically like to remind all of us how grateful we should be that Fleetwood Mac is touring at all. And they're right - we should be grateful. For these fans, I'm excited for you to be able to see Fleetwood Mac, and I hope the show is every bit as wonderful for you as you hoped it would be.

However, for many of us, there is a certain level of monotony that just cannot be justified anymore. It's been going on for a while, and the blame rests squarely on the band members. This lineup has had one album of new material in 26 years. ONE!!! Then they go on tour, and well of course, they want to play the hits. I don't blame them - I would, too - but when your last hit was almost 30 years ago, it's hard to find material to add to your setlist that isn't going to be repetitive. Then they tour again. And again. And it's the same, sad, old, done-to-death setlist with a little something to make it seem fresh. Well, the truth is that no amount of salt or pepper will liven up a bland, boring meal. If Fleetwood Mac wants hits, if they want fans to love new material, they need to earn that. I'm not even going to any of the shows on this tour. There's just nothing new enough to draw me there. One new song, one new but actually old song and a couple songs they've done before but not last time just isn't worth paying for Stevie's dogs to fly around on luxury jets. It's not bold. It's not fresh. It's not risky. It's tired, and done. They talk about how they want to be fresh and relevant - it's all so bigus. They want to be *comfortable*. Well, comfortable is boring. Comfortable is not enough for me, when I can put in a DVD and see almost the same show, with better vocals, and with Christine there, too.

I understand they're old. So what? Being old is no excuse for playing virtually the same songs four tours in a row. If they can play at all, they could play something *different*. They are *so* stuck on themselves and their insecurities. How will fans hear new songs if you don't play them or release new material? You can never have new hits in your setlist if you don't give the songs a chance to become fan favorites. So what if people pee or get a beer during a new song - that's what fans have done for decades at concerts across the globe! After almost five decades of touring you'd think they would have figured that out. As much as we should be lucky they are touring, THEY should feel lucky that people still want to pay to see them perform the same songs again and again. I'm betting that both Without You and Sad Angel will be dropped within 5 shows. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think it's fair to call out another fan for being "negative". It's not negativity - it's actually honesty. Honesty about being disappointed in a band that can't seem to get past it's glory days of 40 years ago, despite talking the talk (but not ever really walking the walk).

I saw this today on Facebook, posted by Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. Stevie could learn something from this. She clearly got it with In Your Dreams, but she could maybe carry this sentiment into the studio with Lindsey.

"We all like to have hits, it's nice to have hits, of course, but after making 13 records together, it's not what drives you. What drives you is to make a great record."
This is something Stevie, Lindsey and crew have forgotten how to do together. I would happily spend hundreds of dollars to see them go out and play a new album mixed in with a few of those old standards. But that won't happen, and to me, it feels as if Fleetwood Mac is only revived periodically to pay for the high cost of retirement these days.

Hello all---

I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who recorded songs at last night's show and shared them online.

I think I have the BN demos, but I honestly can't say that I've ever heard "Without You," and if I did, I'm not sure that I really paid attention.

Having said that, if I didn't already know it's from the BN days, I would have thought it so. It clearly has that feel to it, and that's a good thing. I love the vocal interplay between Stevie and Lindsey, and I really hope that they release the song eventually.

"Sad Angel" is everything I hoped it would be. Actually, the intro was a little weak...but WOW...that chorus! With all due respect to Lindsey's fine solo work...he always sounds better with the Mac behind him.

So, was "Big Love" the usual acoustic version? For a change, I'd love to hear them do the album arrangement.

As for the rest of the set list, it looks okay to me. Except for "Stand Back." I have a problem with them doing solo tracks during band shows. They have enough band hits and great album tracks without having to include solo songs.

I have never really written a review for a concert, so I'm not sure how this will come across, but here goes...

First off....geez, you guys write a lot! I did the first 15 pages of this thread on my cellphone last night while sitting at the Renaissance Hotel bar after the show....then the rest today on the full-size computer and it STILL took me over an hour to catch up to 28 PAGES.

I went by myself, as nobody I knew was a Fleetwood Mac fan or had the evening free (sigh). I hit the LaFogata restaurant on High Street at 6:30pm, but didn't see any other ledgies or others talking about the FM show (I was at the bar by myself though). Met up with another person from the ledge as I walked by the Hyatt before the show (they had flown in from FL). The lines to get in were way too long so I am guessing security was tight (much tighter than the 2009 tour).

Several here have already given good detailed lengthy reviews. This is my first write-up, so I have no idea how it will interpreted by you guys. Here's my background/knowledge on Fleetwood Mac as a fan: I've seen every tour since 1990, seen Stevie many times including touching her hand while sitting in the front row, and then met Lindsey last year in Columbus with a VIP seat; at the time, I told him that I thought he was excellent and a very underrated guitarist, plus asked would he consider doing a Buckingham Nicks tour in the future (which he thought was very interesting and gave a lengthy response to my question). I also have tons of bootlegs (both video and audio) going back to 1975, plus even old TV specials; my stack of stuff is pretty large. I've never seen Sara performed live, which is probably my favorite older song. So yes, I guess you could say that I'm a hardcore fan. :)

Review:
SHN. Nice tour opener. Tight, clean.
Chain. Excellent, tight, John's base playing was great. Didn't notice Lindsey's flub until somebody mentioned it here. Still a great tune after all these years.
Dreams. Still great after all these years. But yes, if I had my choice, I would like to hear other songs not sung before.
Sad Angel. A pleasant upbeat surprise and very enjoyable. This one will have to grown on me, especially after I hear the original non-live EP version. We'll see.
Rhiannon. Again, still great after all these years. Would have preferred to hear others, but I'll take it.
Not that Funny. Excellent and a huge surprise!! Tight, upbeat and with Lindsey pounding it out hard and loud, a real treat. I had hoped to get this one or That's all for Everyone or What Makes you Think You're the One. So I'm happy already at this point. Plus, I have several friends who have dogs and we always sing it as "It's not that FLUFFY, is it?! " :) So to me, it has more meaning, even though the younger generation won't enjoy it as much...

Tusk. Still great after all these years and loved seeing the visual in the background with the original 1970s trumpet players footage etc from the old days (you'll have to search around for the original footage). Classic, played tightly and loud. Just the way I like it.
Sisters of the Moon: Well, what can I (or anyone else) really say?? Awesome and right up there with Storms. Both of these tracks are some of my fav older songs from the Tusk album. A real highlight of the show.

Sara. BEAUTIFUL! Oh my God! My all-time favorite classic track. You know, the one that even as a guy, it still gets me emotional and brings an occasional tear to my eyes when I hear it at home. I have NEVER EVER seen this live and since that one TV (or DVD?) pre-recorded special where somebody had to really push Stevie hard just to perform it, I figured that I would NEVER see this performed live. Man, what an absolute rush! This song has meant SO much to me and has so many memories (not to mention the words are just great too!). And no, it's not tied in with a previous love relationship with anyone or anything, but rather tied to real-life experiences and what I was going through in the 1980's etc. I really could write on and on about this track and if you have actually read this far, I congratulate you and your patience and the fact that you're a hardcore fan that truly understands what I mean. I feel that as a fan, this track and a very few others are the essence of Fleetwood Mac. THIS TRACK ALONE is what will make me now go to a 2nd and 3rd show and probably get a meet/greet package so that I can ask Mick why they decided to include it in this tour. The video background also made it that much more enjoyable. The bass and sound were almost perfect. Simply put, 'Sara' is timeless, priceless, and worth the price of admission alone.

Big Love - still one of my favorites, as Lindsey still performs it in such a unique way. However, I did notice that he played it slightly slower and paced himself. But at his age, I did feel that he still gave it his all.

Landslide. Yes, it was fantastic and Lindsey is still excellent on guitar and paces it perfectly. But if I had it my way, I would eliminate it from the setlist and put in something rare and never performed.

Never Going Back Again. Excellent and one of my favorites; it just feels right and with the right amount of guitar playing. Surprisingly, I actually do not mind at all when he alters and drags this one out. Usually, I prefer stuff that sticks to the original as close as possible. But in this case, I can definitely make an exception. :)

Without You. Wonderful. Definitely a highlight of the show, despite what others may think. Some oldies simply can't be touched. Enough has been written about it already and I won't comment on it anymore.

Gypsy. Beautiful with excellent video footage in the background, which made for a full story and a wonderful experience. I believe this is one that Stevie did some twirling on stage, which I loved.

Eyes of the World. A pleasant surprise and a tiny gem. I'll take any rarities that I can get.

Gold Dust Woman. Wow. Sure, the song is already great, but when you combine that with the excellent background video/visuals and Stevie's extended lyrics, her slow dancing/swaying and stretching the song out longer just like in some of the older bootleg videos that I have, man...this one is really hard to beat. Had they just performed a straight, quick, stripped down version, then my thoughts would have been to eliminate it from the setlist altogether. So the way it was performed, my vote is to keep it!

So Afraid. Hmmm.....well, I think it's still a great song with what are still some of the best solo guitar playing that I have ever seen (and last night was no exception!). However, it's performed too much in both the FM tours and on his solo tours. If I had my choice, I would eliminate it from the setlist.

Stand Back. Excellent the way it was presented (yes, I remember the old video from the 80s and growing up with this song); the background visuals plus the fact that she was more energetic and that the song itself was pretty tight made for an excellent experience this time around (unlike her recent solo tours and doing this song on prev. FM tours). But I can totally understand why others want this dropped. So I say that if she can do it this well on her solo tours, then she should keep this out of the Fleetwood Mac tours. Please understand, though, that it's still an excellent song with a great beat and great lyrics and still stands the test of time.

Go Your Own Way. Ok, yes, it's still sounded great, but I would prefer they eliminate it, as it's played way too much still on the radio and on practically every tour. I am guessing that they keep playing it to make the fans happy; after all, you have to play a few of the big hits to keep the fans coming back, right? This is one of them.

World Turning. Excellent, because I like the way it was presented; I like Mick's drum solo, his really cool interaction/words with the crowd, plus the little Lindsey snippets/samples inserted (Ex: "Feet back on the ground"). Those of you that were there know what I mean. A great pulse/beat for the entire song and motivating. Hard to beat, really, even if Mick himself performed a shorter drum solo this time around (perhaps his age has something to due with it and we can't do things like we used to). Plus I'll take anything older that I can get. :)

Don't Stop. Yes, it's still great, but again, it's probably performed still as it's a nice feel-good hit that appeals to the majority of fans. If it was my choice: eliminate it and give me rarities or never-performed stuff.

Silver Springs. A nice surprise and fresh, fun, clean, sweet.

Say Goodbye. Excellent surprise, presented well and a really nice way to close out the show (most of the surrounding people didn't even know what it was, sadly). Honestly, I thought Silver Springs was the last one, so this was just a really great bonus. Hope they play it at all future shows.

The guy in front of me was a Ledge member; we chatted and he mentioned that he may post some YouTube videos later.

Wrap-up:

What I really liked about the show. The background visuals were an absolute treat. I really don't remember the band having this many visuals/video stories on previous FM tours (maybe I'm wrong). The visuals on Gold Dust Woman, Stand Back and Gypsy were fantastic. I like the cool black top hot that Stevie wore (can't remember which song), which harkens back to the old days (1970s), plus loved when she twirled onstage during 3 songs (she twirled more on this tour). Lindsey was in top form as a guitar player, edgy, tight and powerful on most of his vocals (esp. Not That Funny); perhaps it was just that feeling of exciting heart-thumping anticipation of the very first show and not knowing if it would go over very well with the audience (I know I felt it and I think the audience did too). I really liked his happiness/passion after receiving the roaring approval from the audience after a powerful song concluded. John was excellent on bass as always, especially on The Chain. Mick was excellent and as usual, I loved his facial expressions, especially during his drum solo in the middle of World Turning; I also loved his cool red shoes (what the heck???) I can visually see that Mick is still the glue that keeps the band together after all of these years. I like the fact that they can still be creative onstage and extend/alter (in a good way) some of the songs (ex: extended Gold Dust Woman) like the very early days; you'll need to look at the very early videos to understand). I miss Christine in a huge way, but like that the band was still tight and powerful for almost the entire show, despite their age. I also really enjoyed them pulling out stuff they have rarely performed or never performed. I liked that they made an extra effort to get back to some of their old days (esp 1970s). They also paced themselves very well to give each other a few minute's break. What a great show; although all their tours are great, I haven't been this excited since The Dance 1997 tour. Way to go, Fleetwood Mac!

What I didn't like about the show. Nothing was performed from their early catalog (1967-1974); OK OK I know that this is more about the present lineup of the band and that Stevie/Lindsey didn't join until late 1974. But it would have been nice to hear even a single blues song from that early period. I wish Mick did a separate longer drum solo (but hey, he's still great, OK?) I can clearly see that Stevie is very fragile , not as vocal and doesn't move around on the stage nearly as much as she used to do just 10 years ago; she also doesn't take a chance anymore on the higher notes. However, I'm sure that this is due to her age and that she really pushed/strained her voice too much in those early years (esp. 1975-1979); so none of that bothers me too much, as most of it is understandable. I will take Stevie in any form and any way that I can get her. She is a rock goddess and always will be. Moving on....there's not much more, other than to say that, if I could dream a perfect setlist, that they drop their common stuff and do 1-2 songs from 1967-1974, do more gems from the Tusk album, Mirage and 1-2 from the Tango album. I know I know....I can't have everything, right? We all say this about practically EVERY older rock/roll band that still tours: please perform more of the older gems or never-performed gems. What would be really cool is if they did a second tour with an entire album performed in the second half (ex: Tusk), but I know that it will never happen and I am OK with that.

To the poster who asked about the small poster cost. The sign I saw said it was $10.

After the show and at home, I watched the free Rumors one-hour special (1998) on Netflix about the making of the Rumours album and what the band was going through. A nice way to wrap up the evening.

I recognize that I am different and that I am very passionate about this band and that most of you are not as passionate (or passionate in a different way) or probably won't even get this far in the review, as it's too lengthy or appears to be boring to some of you...and I am OK with that. Everyone has a different opinion and everyone treats and loves music differently, especially based on real-life experiences and what people were going through at the time....

Conclusion: I absolutely LOVED the show (I sat near the stage in 116 a few rows up and level with the stage). It is because of the band reaching back into their older catalogue, the fact that they played 'Sara' , plus the good feedback on the meet/greet that I will now go and see them probably twice more on this tour, as well as do the meet/greet. I may even take a chance and do floor seats again (yes, I know meet/greets come with floor seats, but I am talking about rows 1-3 and paying a higher price for those separately). Regardless of their age and of Stevie slowing down, I will always love FM and will take them any way that I can get them. This will probably be their last tour, so enjoy it while you can. I will still go see them perform if they are in their seventies and can somehow manage to stand up on stage, I don't care. Regardless of our criticisms, I recognize that this band is very very special and that any performance or recording from this day forward is a rare special privelege and should be treated as such.

It took me two hours to write this.

Thank you for listening.

Here, here!

It doesn't seem like this is a "fan" forum at all anymore. It's some other kind of forum.

I hope people can appreciate that there as a time when we wondered if we would EVER see this band play live at all ever again, and a time before that when we thought we'd never see "Landslide" live again, and a time when it seemed like it would be impossible to ever get Stevie and Lindsey on the same stage at the same time in the same show again. Having gone through all that, I appreciate anything and everything I get from this band now.

And this term "relevant" or "relevance" that gets thrown around in this thread.... I don't understand the meaning of these words in this context. Relevent to what????

I have never really written a review for a concert, so I'm not sure how this will come across, but here goes...

Great read and thank you for the details.

Chain. Excellent, tight, John's base playing was great. Didn't notice Lindsey's flub until somebody mentioned it here.

Yes, that got by me too.

Tusk. Still great after all these years and loved seeing the visual in the background with the original 1970s trumpet players footage etc from the old days (you'll have to search around for the original footage).

When they showed the band on the screen, Stevie looked towards it and gestured for Lindsey to look as well. It was a nice Trojan moment between them.

Mick's red shoes. There was a camera shot looking straight down at them during one of the songs and it made me smile.

Mick, the new pope is humble and doesn't want any fancy red shoes. Maybe there will be more on the market for you to buy now!

Why? Because fans never have a different or unpopular opinion? Because fans must adore everything, with no regard to their personal preferences or tastes? Just curious.

I think it was 8:20, maybe a tad earlier. I can only recall that it was about what I expected. Lights out, S&L entered together, Mick made an entrance sticks in hand and arms overhead, and Lindsey and John took a few seconds to tune and then....wow!

a final thought....what IF...their people visit here and tell them all the hurtful things that are said based on UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS and it gives weight to the INSECURITY we know they, FOR SURE, and stevie nicks (in particular) ADMITS (IYD doc ) she already has...and she....just...STOPS......???

Pretty sure that doesn't happen. Stevie and the rest of the band are probably not going to surround themselves with people that only report the nagging of the die hard fans. The band undoubtedly knows they can't please everyone. If Sisters Of The Moon came back because of the begging from the Ledge (I'll admit that's a possibility) but if it was put to the band by someone "working for them", it was probably suggested in passing, not as a formal sort of petition saying, hey all the Ledgies want this. That's just my guess.

The point is, you're being a little preachy. Some of us get what you're saying... but there's always going to be those folks who can never be pleased, and even I'm that way to some degree. There's always disappointment from the expectation set by the band themselves years back. It's totally acceptable to verbalize that disappointment, especially if it's constructive... after all, it does have the ability to make one better. And if you're any good at all, you know you can be better. Oops, that was a Lindsey quote there... ;)

if stevie didnt spill the beans on sisters a month ago this forum would be erupting with praise. But since its been known for a month it somehow has been disqualified as a surprise song.

I will say although I'm glad theyre representing their last album with Say Goodbye, i'm so pissed its in the set. Crystal would've been the perfect song to end the set. It's John's favorite song, why the hell won't the throw him a bone  JOHN SPEAK UP AT REHEARSALS dont let them walk all over you. you know hes sitting there in the circle going "eh ill just play whatever the f*ck you guys want me to"

And after hearing Without You, I would've much prefered the just played Soldiers Angel in that spot.

I think, for me (as one who expressed disappointment) it's just so *different*. I mean, to be honest, it sounds much like I expected. The saddest part of this is that my expectations were met - I was hoping for some surprise. I should know better.

I think that Fleetwood Mac, and to a greater extent Stevie since she tours more often, should maybe try changing up some of these songs, along the lines of the accoustic Gypsy from the AHI benefit all those years ago. I'd love her to sing them softer, forcing us to strain to hear every word, but instead it seems that Stevie frequently yells her songs instead of singing them. I'm very well aware of her vocal limitations, but many of them disappear when she sings less...loudly. She can sing Landslide & Goodbye Baby softly, why not Sisters of the Moon? Just a rhetorical question, really.

Uh...no.

In typical Stevie style, Sisters is gonna evolve slowly over tour until she gets more comfortable with it. I mean, she hasn't performed it in like 30ish years so it's obviously gonna be a bit rough, especially considering how high it used to be but hey! Look on the bright side, our girl attempted it and that's something we can very rarely say these days when it comes to setlists.

I know that song is hated around here, but I think it's incredible, especially live and was REALLY looking forward to it being done with Lindsey every night. But I guess it wouldve been really unfair if Stevie was still playing an IYD song in this set and Lindsey wasn't playing any of his recent solo material.

It's true. SA sings Live. One of the most unaccoutable transformations I can think of in all of music. And I love the studio version, but the live version is ... a force of nature (with or without Lindsey).

Well said.... My main fears, when it was mentioned as being in the setlist, was 1. PLEASE don't let Lindsey make into a "pop song" 2. Can it be done right without the "craziness" & 3. Can she maintain the energy level to do it through a long tour? You are right on ...as with Storms.... it will evolve. I just hope it is given the chance to .....

Everyone has posted quite a few thoughts regarding the Columbus show, so I will keep this relatively short.

First off, I do believe they were crickets. I could of sworn there were crickets briefly before the band took the stage. It may have been easy to miss or I'm way off base and there were indeed no crickets. Anyone else hear them?

They had me fooled with SHN as the opener. For some reason as Lindsey was counting it off I thought they were doing Monday Morning again. Just as I was ready to stomp my foot with a little frustration, indeed it was SHN! I liked it.

The interaction between Stevie and John was priceless. They kept bowing in front of each other as they exited the stage at the stairs. Towards the end of the show when everyone was getting ready to leave for one of the encores, Stevie grabbed John and motioned for him thinking it was time for the final bow, however it was not. John walked towards Stevie with a confused look on his face when she realized they were all suppose to walk off. Big laughs from both of them. They were whispering to each other quite a bit between songs throughout the entire night.

I agree that Sara was really nice last night. In general, I thought Stevie sounded really good. Some nights you get the Stevie without any vocal elasticity which results in the shouting effect, last night her pipes were smooth and supple. Wow don't I feel dirty...hahaha

Without You - awesome, really nice. If I had any criticism, it would be that the song could use some sort of guitar work to bridge to the chorus. They followed pretty closely to the demo. At times I thought it was a little repetitive and could of used something to help break it up. Don't get me wrong, it was VERY COOL. So glad they did it!!

Gypsy was done on Micks smaller kit they rolled out for Sad Angel. This was a great idea, I think they finally got just the right live drum sound for this song. I always thought Mick's big kit just didn't sound right for Gypsy. It would of been nice to have the complete acoustic version - but they kind of met in the middle. One of the more enjoyable arrangements of this song they have done in a while.

Sad Angel - blown away. totally better than anything I could of ever expected. So fresh, so new. Great guitar work and harmonies. I agree with Lindsey, one of the most Fleetwood Mac sounding tunes they have had in YEARS.

ISA - Never been a huge fan of the album track itself, but I love witnessing the guitar solo. The panels above the stage lower, and come right down on top of Mick's kit and the entire crew. The panels changed to a bright red color, It made me think they were under a broiler. Very cool effect. Lindsey did a lot of soloing in front of the folks on stage left and right.

SOTM - Awesome. I think this track is only going to get better. The same thing happened with Beautiful Child and Storms. Once Stevie gets more comfortable with the song, I think it will begin to really mesh. Really nice overall, so glad they dusted this off.

Eyes of the World - so glad they put this back into the set. I thought it was fantastic in '03-'04 and it still is today. That track has aged very well.

Say Goodbye - I was really pulling for Crystal and I was a little sad to not see it as the final encore (or at all!!) I was surprised that a SYW era track came back into the set. Hard to believe that song is 10 years old.

I noticed that it looked as if hardly anyone left before or during the encore. Usually there is quite and exodus at the start of the encore. It looked as if 90% of the place stayed until the very last number. I kind of got the feeling they really had the crowd in the palm of their hand.

It's good to see that someone likes the new merchandise - and I mean that! ;)

But I have to say that I don't like these t-shirts at all, yet I wasn't expecting anything pleasant since I already hadn't liked the "Unleashed"-merchandise.

I would have loved some t-shirts that would have been designed with more dedication.

They had some beautiful merchandise in the late 70's - if they are not willing to give us anything new which is really good, they could have at least printed some of those old designs again. But instead they are giving us the same old penguin outfit again and again...

Those new band t-shirts are really no positive eye-catcher at all. :distress:

would it be cheaper to buy tshirts from the official FMAC website than it would be at the shows?

Say Goodbye is a great song.

I agree:thumbsup:

I had tears in my eyes when they performed this in England in 2003, it's so heartfelt and beautiful. I didn't think it would be in the set but am so pleased it is.

I am not surprised the setlist is essentially the same old stale collection of songs, with a couple of minor differences thrown in. This band has proven time and again it has not an inch of spontaneity anymore and never misses a chance to disappoint fans. It is for these very reasons that the last time I saw FM was in 2004, and probably will turn out to be the last time ever.

At least Lindsey makes his shows interesting by playing a lot of new music, even though the One Man Show tour didn't appeal to me.

Say Goodbye - I was really pulling for Crystal and I was a little sad to not see it as the final encore (or at all!!) I was surprised that a SYW era track came back into the set. Hard to believe that song is 10 years old.

Hmm..I wonder....

Wouldn't everyone just sh*t themselves if the setlist changed from night to night - even if it was only the closing song?

Agreed completely. However, since it's the Rumours anniversary and SHN being the opening of the album too, I'll let it slide. lol But The Chain just has all the ingredients to make an amazing opener.

SARA! !!!!! OMG......The best song of the whole show.
This is the best version of Sara I have heard since the Tusk era.
I am actually very, very impressed. (Confession: Sara is in my top 5 Fav's)
It's definitely a keeper.

SAD ANGEL : Keeps getting better with every listen.
- It took 2-3 listens before I started to really get it.

SISTERS OF THE MOON: I really think it has so much potential, but....
-It needs some work, Mama needs to just relax and lose herself in the moon.
It will really be awesome 2-3 more shows down the road.

WITHOUT YOU: I think they were confused about who had the high part and
who had the low, nerves perhaps.
-Maybe they can work on that ... ingrained in my soul part...

(I hate to be critical)

GEE..if I hadn't looked at this author I'd swear I wrote it.

Every die hard Mac fan on the planet wants FROZEN LOVE & CRYSTAL. So, what do we get...SHN(again),EOTW (ugh...again),NTF( it really isn't... again),NGBA,BL(again). Don't get me wrong I've loved most of these songs at one point in time & still do but most of these are on the bottom of this great catalog.
And where is TANGO IN THE NIGHT???? That could easily replace BIG LOVE as Lindsey's tour de force.

Concert Review: Fleetwood Mac

Posted by Jackie Mantey | April 05, 2013 01:51 PM

When Fleetwood Mac took the stage last night at Nationwide Arena for its first show in a 50-plus stop tour — its first in three years — the band played Rumours’ “Second Hand News.”

Funny, because second hand news the band is most definitely not. The Nationwide show was filled to the rafters with members of pretty much every generation alive. And as our music writer Chris DeVille highlighted in his concert preview, Fleetwood Mac is experiencing a surge of popularity among today’s young indie musicians.

The show was a veritable playbook of rock history. The hits were in full supply, dominating most of the nearly two-hour long show. Song after song, it was amazing to think this band only had one U.S. No. 1 (“Dreams”) when its hits have become stuff of musical treasure and the butter of classic rock radio.

Though a new song did come out of the evening with the band, starring singer Stevie Nicks, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, bassist John McVie and drummer Mick Fleetwood (Oh man, by the way, he killed. Fleetwood Mac’s invaluable percussion is a primal heartbeat in black sheep’s clothing. Fleetwood’s the type of guy you’d wish to share a spot of tea and absinthe with if he still drank.). “Sad Angel” is part of an EP of new music the band plans to release in the coming days, Buckingham said. The song received a warm reception thanks to its up tempo, bleeding guitar moments and catchy chorus. They’ve still got their music writing magic. Nice to see they’re not resting on decades-worth of laurels. These musicians are legends who have thrived for a reason.

Buckingham pointed out one of those reasons before singing three songs from the band’s 1979 album Tusk. Nicks and Buckingham spoke a lot throughout the concert about their trials and joys as famous artists, and one of the most moving was when Buckingham talked about how the music industry can exploit a formula until it’s dead and then move on to the next thing. Tusk was his “line in the sand” to not end up as a band used in that manner. Thank goodness. “Tusk” is one of my favorite songs; it never fails to get my blood boiling and seeing it played live was a personal highlight.

Last night was the first time the band played “Sisters of the Moon” on stage since the late ‘70s, just one of many treats for the Columbus crowd. Nicks dedicated “Landslide” to the audience, which was brought to its feet when, after playing “Landslide,” Nicks and Buckingham gave each other a high five that turned into a hand hold. Another standing ovation came after Buckingham played “Big Love” by himself, calling the song a “meditation on the power and importance of change.” We know so much about these two people, but we also know nothing at all. Seeing them still friends after all these years was a testament to how love, in all its forms, evolves and endures.

It would be difficult to see this show and not feel romantic, but from a production standpoint, Fleetwood Mac live rocks. The sound was awesome and the video work and closeup shots of the musicians — particularly of Buckingham playing difficult guitar parts — was thoughtful and much appreciated. Nicks was as radiant as ever.

Even if you are a newcomer to Mac mania (welcome, friends), go see this band live. Your head and heart will thank you.

Concert Review and Slideshow: Fleetwood Mac at Nationwide Arena in Columbus

Posted by Jeff Niesel on Fri, Apr 5, 2013 at 12:36 PM

There was something old-fashioned about the way Fleetwood Mac casually arrived on stage last night at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, the site of the first date of the band’s 50-date reunion tour. Playing together for the first time in 3 years, band members strolled onto the stage without any major hoopla (though drummer Mick Fleetwood had his arms hoisted high above his head as if he were a referee indicating a touchdown). After a bit of tuning, the group launched into “Second Hand News,” and if the song sounded just a bit out of sync, the band set things straight on “The Chain,” which sounded just as eerie as ever and the group proceeded to play a flawless two-and-a-half hour set that showed it hasn’t lost a step despite the hiatus.

“There will never be another show like tonight,” singer Stevie Nicks told the capacity crowd in reference to the fact that it was the first date of the tour. After a spot-on rendition of the hit “Dreams,” the band played “Sad Angel,” a new song from an EP that guitarist Lindsay Buckingham said would be released in the coming weeks. The song had a driving guitar riff but suffered from its wimpy keyboard riff. Still, it was hardly a disaster and it led nicely into “Rhiannon” and a reworked rendition of “Tusk” that benefited from vintage footage of the USC marching band that played on the studio version. One of the 20-song set’s highlights, “Tusk” culminated with Buckingham at the front stage where he furiously soloed and provided a punctuation mark with an exuberant leg kick. That energy carried over into “Sisters of the Moon,” a song Nicks said the band hadn’t performed live since the ‘70s.

Band members then exited the stage so Buckingham could play the solo tune “Looking Out for Love,” which he described as a “meditation on the power and importance of change.” While Buckingham is a phenomenal guitarist and showman, he fared better when he had Nicks by his side and the two delivered a beautiful rendition of “Landslide” and then resuscitated the Buckingham Nicks tune “Without You.” Nicks changed into a gold shawl for the rousing rendition of “Gold Dust Woman” and then kept things going strong for her solo tune “Stand Back,” which sounded great with the Mac musicians backing her up. The concert concluded with the crowd favorite “Go Your Own Way” and the band returned for an encore that included rousing renditions of “World Turning” — which included a Mick Fleetwood drum solo — and “Don’t Stop.”

I Review:
Wrap-up:

I am very passionate about this band and that most of you are not as passionate (or passionate in a different way) Everyone has a different opinion and everyone treats and loves music differently, especially based on real-life experiences and what people were going through at the time....

Conclusion: I absolutely LOVED the show Regardless of our criticisms, I recognize that this band is very very special and that any performance or recording from this day forward is a rare special privelege and should be treated as such.

Thank you for listening.

Great review, I along with many others read every word. This is the review I would have liked to have written, but you did it perfectly!

Question. THe show I was planning on attending later this summer isn't showing any more Premium Seats. Does that mean it's selling really well???

here is a vid i took of SOTM. the sound isn't great because i was right under her mic and directly next to a speaker that was pumping out ridiculous amounts of lindsey's guitar and lori's backup.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3ZYIGeRl7A

a couple of things i noticed-the ending of SOTM, her tempo was off. she also said it hadn't been played since 1979, to which i had to correct her. she probably didn't hear me, though, so the next venue will get the same spiel lol

stevie messed up a word or two on say goodbye but it went unnoticed because she just picked up like it never happened.

during a guitar part on GDW, stevie turned her back to the audience (i love when she does that). i'm not sure if she actually SAID something, or if she did something or what, but john mouthed "wow" to her. also, she trotted off to get her hat for GYOW. when she left the stage, john kinda put his finger up in the air, and made a circling motion to indicate "there she goes again" they shouldn't really be surprised by her leaving the stage at this point.

the beginning was terrible from my vantage point. SHN, the chain, dreams and rhiannon were all basically stevie-less with random moments of lori soaring through the speakers.

someone said she didn't dedicate landslide to anyone, but i was pretty sure she dedicated to columbus. she also said "i wrote this song in 1973, it's called landslide. take it in" wtf.

oh, during silver springs, it was changed from "and did you say that she loves you?" to "and did you say that you love her?"

sara was very intense. during the "i think i had met my match" and "i stayed home at night, all the time, i'd go anywhere, anywhere, ask me and i will be there" they were singing to each other pretty intently. i'm not saying this as a shipper (although i am LOL) but i just found it interesting because she's never really admitted that song was about him, but there they were.

something else that you're not able to see on the video of without you (i videoed it, but somehow lost it as i was frantically removing stuff from my phone to get more pics/vids) but when they sing "if i never knew, the likes of you, where would i be?" stevie kinda brings her hands up and drops them like a shrug, and smiles a huge smile. that song was the highlight of the night for me. the only time i've bawled listening to a damn fleetwood mac song :o

Sweet. And I don't want to out myself, but, um, I did the Stephenie Meyer thing hard, just not as hard as Stevie.

When Stevie goes to Lindsey's mic and he moves away and she sings and then turns back to him, he moves too. They kind of float in tandem like wheels on a Lazy Susan. It reminded me of Bella's mother Renee telling Bella that: "The way you move -- you orient yourself around him without even thinking about it. When he moves, even a little bit, you adjust your position at the same time. Like magnets . . . or gravity. You're like a . . . satellite or something. I've never seen anything like it."

That's what Stevie and Lindsey make me feel sometimes, the gravity between them and the end of Sara brought it home. Both of them very aware that we fans made the Sara hug from last tour iconic, they didn't hug this time (although they didn't initially hug for Unleashed either), but her hand on his shoulder was very powerful and when she walks away he swerves too, crouching around his guitar. It really is like a slightly wrenching goodbye between them.

Very artful.

^^see, i couldn't really see what was going on over there. i am short and was literally right under her mic (which is why the SOTM vid didn't include lindsey) so i saw her go to his mic and sing, but didn't catch the small details :distress: :distress:

That is hilarious because someone here (blemlin?) asked if Lindsey was even on the stage for SOTM. But I don't think they said it just because of your video. I think it's because the guitar solo isn't there, so they might have been being a little facetious, but the idea cracked me up, as if Lindsey might have chosen that song to leave the stage and go change his costume.

Anyway, glad you were able to get the whole song and share it with us, because we only had a partial one initially. Thanks.
