The tour starts April 4th. One would think the songs would be out in advance so that the fans know the songs before the show. But that is just me. Anyone know when released?

All i know is that Without You got recorded. They'll probably wait a while into the tour to see if people like the music they perform then release it. I'm one of those people who are hiping for an album XD

You think that would be a simple, sensible marketing strategy. It's a normal practice in today's music industry Yet, the tactics of Fleetwood Mac and/or their "management" involve missing every opportunity to target and serve their audience. This is nothing new; there are decades of dysfunction and countless missed opportunities.
If they bothered to research The Ledge, they would discover many valid ideas and ways to serve their core customers. Their marketing team are idiots.

I agree wholeheartedly. The songs will probably be released after the tour is over and everyone has moved on to something else.
For example, This Tuesday night, I have tickets to attend a PREMIERE screening of the "new" Stevie Nicks Documentary "In Your Dreams". Excuse me, but the album that this documentary revolves around was released nearly 2 years ago. Why are we JUST NOW getting the documentary. Had the documentary been released right after the album, it would have been a FANTASTIC PROMOTIONAL TOOL.....Oh no, but that would have made too much sense for this marketing team. Let's release the documentary 2 years later after the life span of the album has run its course and Stevie is preparing the embark on a tour with Fleetwood Mac where few if none of those songs will be played. Hello? Who is in charge here ?

Stevie performed You Can't Fix This before the album was even released. My guess is she liked the whole process of doing the new song live first, that she made the Mac wait until they play their new songs live before putting them out.

My guess is that they probably decided that it's better to ~test the songs out live~ to see the reaction before going through the "trouble" of releasing them.
So basically if no one flips out opening night when they play them, then we're never gonna get them.

I agree with the past comments as I can see them waiting until at least the first full week of shows before they "unleash" these new songs to us. Much like michele, I have to listen to a song a few times before I either love, like, or hate it.

Exactly. But for some reason I'm getting that vibe.
Or, maybe they are secretly working on an album and are holding the songs back because of that. I hope it's that option haha.

Stevie has said this is 'not' a greatest hits tour and that they are going out with "product"....that means they should release the material before the tour starts. REALLY stupid not to have release the songs a few weeks before so that the fans know the new songs. Dumb.

or this Tuesday at the latest! with IYD doc. in 50 theaters.. ADVERTISE the songs at the beginning of the screenings. get the die-hards on board ! Maybe word will spread.
No, really...where are the new songs!!!
Should not be easy to release new singles today, you know, if they're not on a new CD.
The "marketing guys" or the responsible people are moving too slow, and too bad...the last tweet is from March 13rd, and the website, well, looks a bit raw, with nothing about the new songs.

Where are the new songs? This question is on the mind of every Fleetwood Mac devotee. As we do with all their releases we will debate later how they could have done better for themselves had they marketed the songs correctly. Something they never do. They'll probably release the weakest of the three first. As Sue would say: so many missed oppurtunities.

Seriously I could put up a song on iTunes and it wouldn't take me any time at all. It's really not that difficult. I can't understand what is the hold up on this.

They wanna annoy me by pumping me for music that may or may not never see the light of day like many Mac projects, then I'll try to annoy them back. lol

Stevie Nicks In Your Dreams premieres tonight at the West Hollywood Landmark Theatre, where Stevie will be making a special appearance and taking questions from the audience after the first two shows. She will introduce the third screening but will not be present to answer questions afterwards. All three shows are now sold out.
In Your Dreams officially opens in North American theaters on Tuesday, April 2. Some theaters have added additional screenings on different days. See the list of theaters that will be screening the documentary film in your area.
On April 15, Stevie will be promoting the documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where she will be doing her next question and answer session. These screenings have also sold out. Screenings will continue throughout Canada in April, May, and June.
On Thursday, April 4, Stevie will join the rest of Fleetwood Mac in Columbus, Ohio, where they will launch their 2013 world tour. The band has confirmed a robust set list of favorites — including “Landslide,” “Go Your Own Way,” and the highly-anticipated return of “Sisters of the Moon,” which the band hasn’t performed in concert since 1982. They also plan to introduce new material that the band has been working on over the past year. These songs include “Miss Fantasy,” “Sad Angel,” and the Buckingham-Nicks era “Without You.”

I know, and that was my point.... if they all have agreed about 'new product' why the hell isn't it out yet? Who's the roadblock? The band? Management? Kids sit at home and record and upload new songs in five minutes. We know Lindsey knows how to use social media and get music out on YouTube and iTunes and the like, so who's holding this up? And why? Do they think the tantalizing prospect of hearing new songs for the first time live will somehow sell more concert tickets?? It may for diehard fans, but not more casual fans. A great new song or two online would be a driver for more tickets... so what the heck are they thinking?

My guess is Stevie's management camp has got reigns on the releasing of these songs. Stevie has made it clear she will only be involved in recording a new Mac album if these new songs are received well by audiences. My guess is she wants nothing officially released until the decision has been made to record another album or not. Which honestly, makes sense. If they release an online-only EP, and then those same songs get rolled into a full album, you're blunting the full album's sales & impact, without a doubt.

Yes but that contradicts what they've said so far, which is they have a couple songs and they will be putting them out and *then* if people respond well to those couple of songs, they will consider doing an album with so many more songs. Her comments to date have been that the one or two new songs will test the waters on whether people want more new music from them or not before they spend all the money to make a full album.

Fleetwood Mac IS contradiction! :p
My guess is they've decided against releasing the material until they see how audiences react to it. Then they'll decide whether or not to record a full album, or simply dump the 3 songs onto iTunes & go back to their solo careers. I never once thought they'd be so bold as to release a few new songs electronically before a tour. That's just too efficient & not painful enough for us fans.

The missus and I have great seats for the DC show next week, and she said to me over the weekend, "They aren't releasing anything new, are they? I want to hear the Good Stuff!" And I think that's the attitude of a lot of ticket-buying fans. Some of us die-hards might want to hear "Without You" on this tour, but I'm betting that the vast majority in the audience would much rather hear, say, "Blue Letter" or some other marginally well-known oldie over any new stuff. Especially if said new stuff hasn't been released anywhere yet - I'm in total agreement with the poster (MicheleJ) who wrote that we can't flip over a song the first time we hear it.
So, since no new FM album is out there, and the tour starts in 3 days... I'm hoping for a minimum amount of new material on the set list...

I for one, am not really anticipating any new music at opening night in Columbus. I will be pleasantly shocked if they do. On top of not releasing any new promotional band photos for this tour -- which I'd imagine would've been also released to promote the new single(s) -- they haven't even been bothered to name this tour outing. They're too busy semi-promoting a fan made tour poster contest on Fleetwood Mac's FB page, as if that should include & appease us:rolleyes:. And since this is uncharted territory for the band (sticking a couple new songs for download on the Internet) maybe WB, or whoever is supposably releasing these new songs, is unsure how to market them. I feel as though these songs will go the way of that comprehensive talked -up FM re-release with unreleased footage (probably the Rumours deluxe box shelved) that was mentioned in every press release following the annoucement of FM's 09' "Unleased Tour", that was never released, or brought up again once the tour started. Perhaps they have rehearsed the songs, and they didn't transfer well to the stage as they sounded in Lindsey's home studio?!?
Or the non-cynical view :) WB & FM are soooo overcome & impressed with these three new recordings, they have decided to see how things roll on the 1st leg of the tour, and possibly if demand & interest is there they will record some more songs on the road for a new FM record late summer/early fall.
Let's get real here -- this tour is simply a cash grab! And I've really had the impression for a l o n g time that Stevie is really not interested in recording with FM again (unless Christine is involved) and that is not going to happen! Stevie met up with the band in November at Lindsey's home - literally threw her vocals on Lindsey's 2 tracks & dug out "Without You" to appease Lindsey & have the start of this FM outing with her appearing to be compromising & have Band politics start off smoothly & without any tensions. But maybe she never intended that these would really be released. Well, perhaps "Without You" for a BN re-issue later. It seems lf Stevie were really serious about recording new FM material, she would have brought in at least one new song, which we know from last Fall's East & West Coast Film Festivals "IYD" screenings & Q&A's, she has written, and then comes along "You Can't Fix This".
Also it's entirely possible that Lindsey is stewing that the year of FM is focused so far on Stevie's solo career. She's been solidly in the spotlight the last 2 months with Dave Grohl fronting The Sound City players & playing her new song (YCFT) whenever she seemed to have the chance. The Oprah "Masterclass" special. And now the past 2-3 weeks (since SXSW) there has been a blitz of Stevie solo press about the North American theatrical release of her "In Your Dreams" movie documentary in over 80 Theatres ("the best year of her life".) ;)
Could there be "Trouble in Shangri-la"? Or as I suspect - Stevie is just calling all the shots.

Stevie's whole "people don't want 10 new songs" IS BS. Then why the f@#k did she do her last album? Does she think we are stupid? If she really believes that to be true, she better not record another solo album again. If she does, she loses all credibility with me. Just say the truth, you don't want to record with FM again but would love to record another solo album. When it comes to touring with FM, you don't mind making a ton of money on tour, where you can stroll on to the stage and not have to interact with the rest of the band all day like you would in a studio. I for one am getting sick of her explanations that don't make any sense.

I don't think Lindsey honestly cares. He's always much more enjoyed just throwing work out there especially the past few years. But this band is really starting to tick me off with this new material crap. It's one thing to toot your own horn about it every chance you get and then you release it but to do it and it's been what, months and months now, with no other word other than "we'll play it and see"? What kind of crap is that? An audience didn't take to Running Through The Garden and it got cut, does that mean your general fanbase (who essentially ARE the ones that are gonna purchase this EP and put money into your pockets) didn't like the song? Uhm no, that means the average person who only wanted the golden oldies wasn't bothered. Ugh, for a band that had such huge success in the past and seems to crave more and more of it (because of these "hits" tours over the past 20 years / let's face it, this is a hits tour regardless of "new" material just like the dance) they sure do like pissing away their opportunities at it.

Umm...sorry to bring up something that's apparently been mentioned more than once before, but what exactly IS "the 'Thrown Down' thing with Lindsey"...?
Like everyone else, I was really looking forward to hearing the new songs. Partly, I was holding out hope that maybe the delay was due to Christine guesting on them, but I know that was the longest of shots.
<sigh> This is where it becomes tough to be a fan. On one hand, I understand that when a band becomes as big as FM, it becomes a business. But I hope the band members don't ever forget that none of us is here because we admire their business decisions. We're here for the artistry.

In the Destiny Rules doc, there was a scene where Lindsey suggested that Stevie might want to change some of the "yous" to "he" in Thrown Down to make the subject consistent throughout the song. Stevie got upset and infamously declared, "You wouldn't say that to Bob Dylan!"

I know where you're coming from but this is nothing new to the "older" fans. They have always given us different release dates going all the way back to the Tusk album and said things in interviews that didn't work out. After 35 years I'm used to it. Is it fair to the fans? Not really but on the flip side you can't really fault them for that because at the time they said things about new releases and stuff, they were under the impression that the new music was going to be released. I guess the same thing happened this time around.

In my own state of denial, I'm gonna say it was Soldier's Angel. *gun shot goes off now* lol
Well, if that is true, thank God at least we'll hear it live even if we never get a studio version (remembers back to Temporary One).

Okay, now I remember it. I've never actually seen the documentary, but I do recall having read about that exchange.
Umm...no offense to Stevie, but she's no Bob Dylan. [Similarly, Bob Dylan is no Stevie Nicks...]
As the co-producer, it was Lindsey's job to make suggestions about songs and arrangements. But I think that's also what you have bandmates for---to offer constructive criticism on each other's tunes. Of course, that means that Lindsey would have to be equally willing to hear the same sort of suggestions regarding his OWN songs...! *wink*
I'm eager to read the reviews of tonight's show.

I, too, am hoping they will roll the new songs into a full-length album of new material, and that this is the reason for the delay.
If so, I'm all for it and ready to put the new album on my wish list upon its announcement.
In fact, I'd be happy for a CD because mp3-only releases just don't sound as good.

[Christmas or Early 2014? Please. The problem with these rumors of an album is that as long as the men of Mac hold out that hope, then I can't believe we're really getting an EP]

Fleetwood Mac fans don't have to worry about the band phoning things in on its 2013 tour.
The band became arguably the biggest act in rock in the late 1970s after guitarist/singer Lindsey Buckingham and singer Stevie Nicks joined three previous members of Fleetwood Mac — drummer Mick Fleetwood, bassist John McVie and keyboardist/singer Christine McVie (the bassist's former wife) — in 1975 and released three straight blockbuster albums, "Fleetwood Mac" (1975), "Rumours" (1977) and "Tusk" (1979) that established the lineup as the classic edition of Fleetwood Mac.
In a conversation with Fleetwood, it's very clear that today's four core band members (Christine McVie retired in 1998) are very much invested in the band and far from complacent about its live show. In fact, the band spent six full weeks rehearsing for this year's tour, it's first in three years.
"We know the nuts and bolts are all in place and we have confidence in that," Fleetwood says. "But we also have like a garage band-like mentality where we go sh--, we're actually playing down at the local town hall next week. We better be good. And it [that nervousness] doesn't really go away, which is a nice thing. We're not all jaded and so showbizzed out that we're all super slick and go 'Ah, piece of cake.' We're not like that at all. We're all quite sh---ing ourselves."
Fleetwood says the shows will, of course, feature signature hits.
"We know that we have sort of a body of songs that, in truth, if we didn't do them, we'd probably be all lined up and shot," he says. "So we have sort of eight or nine songs that no matter what, we know people are going to want for us to do them, and we are totally cool with doing them. If we walked on the stage and didn't play 'Dreams,' I think people would be shocked. So we don't go there. So what we do is we take the prime songs, 'Go Your Own Way,' 'Dreams,' songs like that, and then build a new show around the fact that we, of course, are going to be doing those songs."
This is Fleetwood Mac's first tour since 2009's "Unleashed" tour. Buckingham and Nicks are busy with solo careers, making Fleetwood Mac part of the picture, but not the entire one. Following the "Unleashed" tour, Buckingham released the studio album, "Seeds We Sow," and Nicks released "In Your Dreams." Both artists toured extensively to support the albums.
The personal history and inter-personal dynamics within Fleetwood Mac also create challenges, and, according to Fleetwood, are another indication of why the four band members are all in when they reunite.
"When we do do it, we work really hard at it and we're committed to it," he says. "We fundamentally have to be happy to be doing this because we're all ex-lovers and all the stuff that is well worn news out there."
As has been well documented, Buckingham and Nicks were a couple (and were recording as Buckingham-Nicks) when they joined Fleetwood Mac. The McVies were also married at that time. But the relationships soon frayed, and the "Rumours" album (a deluxe expanded edition of the CD was released in January) was written in the midst of those breakups. Fleetwood and Nicks later became a couple for a time, while Buckingham later married and started a family.
"[This is] a bunch of people who aren't just connected by the music, but connected by spending huge amounts of time [together], including Lindsey, Stevie and their journey," Fleetwood says. "No, they're not in love and Lindsey has an incredibly wonderful family. But the story they tell as two people is huge. And you know, there I am with Stevie, and me and Stevie had a long-lasting love affair. She's the godmother of my children and it's a trip. It's a trip."
This year's reunion could turn out to be even more eventful than the one in 2009.
On the "Unleashed" tour, Fleetwood Mac essentially played a greatest hits set. But Fleetwood says this tour will blend in three or four new songs from those recorded last year when Buckingham, Fleetwood and McVie got together for a writing and rehearsal session.
"Stevie was on the road, and during that period she lost her mother, who passed," Fleetwood says. "So she was not set up to come and join the party in that few weeks that me and Lindsey and John put some ideas together that Lindsey had."
Nicks has since added her vocals to several of the songs Buckingham, Fleetwood and McVie recorded during the sessions and three of those songs will be available through iTunes shortly. Another song was written by Nicks. It's an unreleased tune that dates back to before Nicks and Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac, and was recently rediscovered by Nicks and recorded with the band.
"It really tells the story of how Stevie and Lindsey joined Fleetwood Mac, which is when they were known as Buckingham-Nicks," Fleetwood says. "It was an unrecorded song that Stevie actually wrote about Lindsey, and it's a beautiful song ...
"And this was the music that I heard in the studio that spurred me on to make the phone call and ask them to join Fleetwood Mac."
Fleetwood says with any luck these songs will form the basis of a new Fleetwood Mac album that may be recorded later this year and released either ahead of Christmas or in early 2014.
This would be Fleetwood Mac's first collection of new music since 2003's "Say You Will." That was the band's first album without Christine McVie, and the tour that followed the album was not as harmonious as the band members would have wanted.
For Nicks, it was difficult to be the only woman in the band and she sorely missed her close friend, McVie. And before regrouping for the "Unleashed" tour, the band flirted with having Sheryl Crow (a good friend with Nicks) join the band.
Nicks, in various interviews, has said she now is comfortable in the four-person Fleetwood Mac lineup, and Fleetwood notes that the guys try to help create a good environment for Nicks.
"Certainly the guys in the band are very aware of making sure that Stevie feels safe," Fleetwood says. "When she comes back to Fleetwood Mac, she's in a man's world, you know. And two of them are men that she each had relationships with. It's hugely important that she feels safe — and loved. And that's the funny old thing that this band is all about. It's powerful."

Wondering when we're going to see the new songs available for download?
I'm assuming next Tuesday or the Tuesday after.
If anyone gets any information about a release date, please share!

If it is indeed "the next few days" then they'll be up Tuesday 12:01am. If not, then my computer may have a busted screen. lol Just kidding. Anyways, yeah, I'm expecting the next few Tuesdays to coincide with the tour, especially now that the reviews and internet in general are spreading the word, the timing is just too perfect.

I've tried to find the "Alert me" option in the Fleetwood Mac page of the iTunes store with no success. Does anybody know where it is??
You can also go directly to artist pages in the iTunes Music Store and click the "Alert Me" link in the side of the page to be notified when there are new releases or tracks to download.

if it was going to be released on iTunes tomorrow, wouldn't there something on their site about it, stating it would be released on 4/9/13?

Fleetwood Mac to Release New Songs
By JAMES C. MCKINLEY JR.
Fleetwood Mac plans to release an EP of new songs in the near future, Lindsey Buckingham, the group’s lead singer and guitarist, said during a concert in Philadelphia on Saturday, according to Rolling Stone magazine. Introducing one of the songs during the show at the Wells Fargo Center, Mr. Buckingham said the group had gone into the studio last year and recorded several original tracks, calling the material “the best stuff we have done in a long time.” He said the band would release a few of the songs “in a few days,” then the group proceeded to play one of them, a mid-temp rock song called “Sad Angel.”

One of the songs we've heard features the two of them equally. And the two new songs they recorded are both written by Lindsey so of course they're going to have Lindsey on vocals. Those are the ones we know of. I would love it if they had more, but they never mentioned any others.
I don't think they would talk it up in concert and then just never release it.

The way I hear it, Lindsey has more vocals on Without You than Stevie. They are either both harmonizing or he is singing alone.
