Do you think Stevie will ever be inducted into the ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME as a SOLO ARTIST? What are the chances? If so, about what year could this happen? Here is a list of artists that have been inducted both as a BAND MEMBER and a SOLO ACT. There are no women on the list.

I think that list tells us all we need to know: it's an extraordinarily small group of elite musicians who have been inducted twice. All of them are critics darlings. Notice also that there is not one woman on that list. Stevie's solo career was really just a supplement to her Fleetwood Mac tenure. She didn't sell a fraction of the albums, and she didn't break any new ground in her solo career. I mean, Bob Dylan hasn't been inducted twice. So the odds of Stevie being inducted as a solo artist are pretty much nil. :sorry:

Are there detailed requeriments to be inducted? Or just an amount of years in music industry plus the own decision of the foundation members?

It should also be about the influence she has had on others. And she has. She deserves it as a solo artist. It's not easy to have two dual careers.

I agree that you can't talk to the generations that have come after her without them citing her as an influence.

I see discrimination without women onboard the hall a fame.
I don't understand why Michael Jackson and the Jacksons onboard the hall a fame. They are not rock and roll.

I still think these are fixed like some those other awards shows.

This comes up every year around Rock Hall season and I've always said the same thing, no Stevie will not get a solo induction any time soon. The reason for this is despite her solo success she is still thought of as a member of Fleetwood Mac, her greatest success came with them. For example when was the last time you saw or heard an introduction from Stevie that didn't say "a fleetwood Mac member Stevie Nicks"? In comparison when did you last hear "Ladies and gentlemen, former Beatles member, Paul McCartney"? In almost every case where someone got a group and solo induction, their solo success either equaled or surpassed their group success. Stevie's solo success has not equaled or surpassed her Fleetwood Mac success. However if Fleetwood Mac had ended it all after "Tusk" then she probably would go in as a solo act. The tandem thing I thnk is in part what stops that from happening.

This. The common thread with all of those repeat-inductees is that they were all in bands that failed to stay together. This allowed them to forge solo identities without the overhang of their respective legacy bands. Stevie joined one band (I'm not counting Fritz because they didn't release any records!) and succeeded to stay in it for her entire career- a commendable achievement that ironically works against her.

I do believe Stevie will get inducted as a solo artist one day. However, the question remains whether she will be there to receive it, or whether it will be awarded posthumously a la Donna Summer, who totally should have been inducted ten years ago. I suspect Linda Ronstadt will similarly fail to receive recognition while she is alive.

The only reason Donna Summer is going in now is because she died last year. She was nominated last year, but didn't get it. If she were still alive, she wouldn't be going in now. Last year after she died Elton John blasted the Hall for not inducting her in during her lifetime and the Hall responded by saying they would rectify this as soon as possible. Does she deserve to be in there? Yes. Should she have been in by now? Yes.

Getting in as a solo artist isn't a priority for Stevie or the RRHF. In Stevie's mind, she's already in. Stevie is def getting more clout there. She attends every year and schmoozes with everyone.

Unfortunately, she will probably be indicated posthumously.

A band's first album needs to be at least 25 years old and s certain number of records sold.

Album sales is not a factor. First release needs to be 25 years prior and shown an impact, but sales doesn't factor in.

If record sales are a factor, how did Lloyd Price, John Lee Hooker and Laura Nyro get inducted? I can't imagine any of these acts selling more records than Stevie's solo career. Moreover, none of them have become an iconic figure in rock n roll. What gives?

Laura Nyro didn't sell many records, but she wrote a bunch of huge hits for others. Like John Lee Hooker she is considered a huge influence by many others.

What does It take to get Stevie a star on the Hollywood Walk a Fame.

She deserves a star by herself on the walk.

Its again pulling teeth doing that too.

If you have enough $$$ anyone can get a star on the walk of fame. I believe you have to apply for it, and if it's approved you just need to cough up the cash and you're in.

That's what I understand too, and I believe you have to appear at the unveiling. Stevie or her people would have to pursue it; campaigning by fans isn't enough.

Ok how does the artist get nominated for the RR H of F and from whom votes for them. How does this work.

That's done by the people on the board at the Rock Hall. It's basically a poplartity contest. They nominate who they think is deserving (there is a long list of artists that will most likely never get a nom simply because they aren't liked by the board). It's headed up by Jann Weiner who is also the editor of Rolling Stone magazine, so if the artist is a hit with RS then they wil get in the Hall sooner than later. Acts like KISS, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden etc will most likely never get in anytime soon just because they have never been darlings of Rolling Stone (this explains why Madonna made it in when she did, certainly is no Rock artist but is very popular with Rolling Stone).
Until this year members of the Hall had the exclusive vote on who got in, this year however it was opened up to fans which is why Heart and Rush have finally gotten their induction.
Stevie won't get a solo nomination any time soon because she is still thought of as a Fleetwood Mac member first and formost. She is considered a member of the hall already so there's no rush to get her in there solo.

Ok thank .I now understand how it works.I'm shocked that Kiss Judas Priest and Iron Maiden are not in it.They are true rock artists not like some of those are in there which are not even rock artists.
