Stevie talks about Rumours, Lady Gaga, Twilight, "Bootylicious," etc. in the February 9, 2013 issue of NME.

She has so many film projects to talk about???

It's all talk to make herself sound so prolific. None of those movies will ever be made.

She can't wait to get to a piano to write a new song??? Songs that she never feels confident enough to release to the public.

Can't stop talking to let the reporter have a word??? Smoke another joint, Stevie.

And how many brides where brown to their first wedding? But she wore white as a guest to the wedding of Mick and( Sara?) in 1994.

was her wedding outfit brown? I thought it was black (over that white/silver-ish bottom part)

When she says "wrote", I'm assuming she means she's written some Poems, not necessarily some Songs....

And really, she's her own booking agent, etc etc?? Bet that's news to the whole staff of people at her management company and her PR agent's office...

She wore white at her wedding, but also wore a black lace thing over the top.

Yes, I'm hoping that won't be the focus on Oprah's Next Chapter.

Stevie can never find those glasses.

First time I heard about Bella. May she have a long and happy life and enjoy being spoiled.

It was fun doing Rumours because she and Lindsey were like old married people and going together. Ok.

Wait, remember that marijuana that everyone ate and got really sick. Christine didn't even eat any. Ken said she was the only one who was suspicious in the first place. Lindsey's girlfriend made those cookies?? Are the ones mentioned here the same ones that Ken mentioned? I guess this was before CAH became his girlfriend, but I still think the woman who baked them may have been trying to poison them all.

Anyway, thanks for posting this. It's wonderful.

Same. Quite frankly, I find it boring. We get it - drugs are bad.

Now, if she wants to start telling entertaining stories about crazy things that happened WHILE they were on drugs... or if she lets us see the hole in her nose... I might be able to get behind that.

Same here. Did Sulamith pass on? :(

I thought she had 2 - Sara Bella Donna & Sulamith.

One constant -- make that two constants -- is her pair of Yorkshire Terriers. "One is named Sara Belladonna and the other is Sulamith India Grace. I take them everywhere. My mother's Yorkie is Rhiannon. These dogs have brought such love, such fun to my life. They are amazing companions."

I remembered she said Karen had recently adopted a dog and then there is the note on her site where she wrote she had adopted a new Yorkie rescue after Sara Belladonna died.

Wasn't that Sulamith? I thought she got Sulamith thinking it was a pure yorkie, then it lost half it's hair and she spent thousands on medical tests just to figure out it was half Chinese Crested.
My question is whether Sara Bella Donna just lived a really effing long time, or if she had 2 yorkies named that. Because I recall an early 80s picture of her with a yorkie that was captioned "Nicks with her Yorkshire Terrier - Sara Bella Donna" (or something of the like). Yet wayy into the 2000's she still had a yorkie named that.

It's hard to say, because Sulamith had 2 names too. I can't figure out if it's the same dog and she changed it's name or if it's a different dog. I know my grandparents had about 5 different dogs they named Rex. I don't know if Stevie does the same.

But remember sometimes there was a Sulamith named India Grace and sometimes it was Sulamith Wulfing.

Like others have said, Bella is Karen's dog. Sulamith was still alive when Stevie did another interview in that Malibu rental in December.

I couldn't even finish that article. It was Dashut who said he slept under the console (not Mick), and it was Robin Snyder who made the hash cookies - Stevie's girlfriend, not Lindsey's.

The standard of journalism research in the press for this tour is appalling.

By the way, familiarity really has bred some vicious contempt for Stevie in some of you guys. Probably time to get a new hobby.

Not to mention, opening the article with the urban legend that involves a roadie helping Stevie with cocaine......you know the rest, I won't repeat the gory details.
My questions is, when Stevie signs an agreement to do an interview, does she get final say as to what will be printed? I imagine that she would be quite upset that the writer chose to open the article with the tired roadie story. :distress:

I used to read these Dark Shadows romance novels that featured either Barnabas or Quentin as heroes. To this day, I think that show helped shape what I find attractive in men -- which proably is not exactly healthy. I like them aloof and mannered and cloaked.

Well, those predilections enhanced my enjoyment of the Slow Dancing video, anyway!

Storms, wind and windswept gowns.

I like gothic mansions, with unused wings and hidden passages. I think Stevie does too and Wide Sargasso Sea takes you there, as does the whole OSOTM vibe, the cover, Rooms on Fire, the video and what she said about Rupert.

The original was fantastic, of course, but I have to admit my preference for the Ben Cross revival series. It's the one I saw, and fell in love with, first.

Still need to get the 'House of Dark Shadows' and 'Night of Dark Shadows' DVDs that were released last fall. My videocassettes are well-worn.

The Johnny Depp movie was... well, I don't know what. I'm a Depp/Burton fan but I think my DS admiration trumped my D/B admiration where that film is concerned. I didn't regret seeing it, but it didn't really do anything for me.

Sounds like the journalist only wanted to hear some dirt about Rumours and really could care less about Stevie. Kind of a crappy tone to the article, isn't there? And starting it off with probably what is Stevie's most detested rumor of all. And they make it sound like they couldn't wait to get the interview done and over with, but Stevie kept them there, and on a Satuday night of all things, how inconvenient! Wish a writer who actually is interested in her had done the interview.

Ya, I hate that story. It's so stupid and disgusting, I don't get why it's ever re-told. I also think it's really disrespectful to add in such rumors to your article when you just had a personal interview and the celebrity was nice enough to take the time to talk withyou and invite you into their home. And I doubt stars get any say over what the final article comes out like. They probably just live and learn (as to what reporters to NOT ever do interviews with again).

Well, they usually have stipulations about what kind of questions can be asked to them.

But as far as what narrative the journalist chooses to surround the interview with... probably not.

It's somewhat likely that more than one person wrote and/or contributed to the article, possibly some kind of small editorial team. It's also possible that, even though this is written from the perspective of one person in Stevie's rented vacation home, there was never such a meeting with anyone from NME, rather probably some unnamed press rep who was assigned to meet with her and gather some details (location, situation, quotes, character traits) and use that material to distribute to various press outlets, such as NME.

Note: there's no individual byline on the article. It simply says, "NME Meets the Legendary Stevie Nicks."

NME's editorial slant does tend toward some mockery of its subjects and it also often highlights the salacious elements in a particularly wry, uniquely English manner that I often find troubling, as a fan of some of these subjects.

I doubt there was any approval process for Stevie to participate.

I've been assigned to write on spec many times, for various entities, and I'm almost always asked to write from a viewpoint that isn't mine. In fact, the assignments usually come with instructions that tell me exactly how to write a piece. Sometimes it feels like I'm just supplying the words in a particular order, since the editor or agent has already given me a perspective, printed pages of recorded info or an audio file, and other materials that help me figure out what they want and how to fill in the blanks. And it doesn't pay much. Sometimes they give me a small fee for accepting the assignment and then an additional fee if it's actually published. I'd say about 30% of what I finish ends up published. And every once in a while, even though they pay me, the finished product is unrecognizable to me.

As well, my ex is a publicist with his own company, and he's been in the business for 22 years. By now, he is admittedly a bit cynical about that particular world. He has seen and put up with a lot of shenanigans. Whenever I read anything in print, especially entertainment magazines and web sites, I hear his voice in my head, saying, "Don't believe anything you read, especially about celebrities."
