This is awesome news! First Lindsey with Little Big Town, now Stevie with Lady A! I hope they do After the Glitter Fades or That's Alright, songs that show Stevie's country roots.

Holy sheet. Lady A is my favorite country groups I love them.Wow a dream came true.I hope this opens avenues for Stevie in Nashville .

It was great when Lindsey was with Little Big Town on Crossroads. They are a great band too.

I can't wait.

Not a big country fan, but I do like Lady Antebellum  I think this works much better than Lindsey collaborating/performing with country artists. And yes! That's Alright or After the Glitter Fades would be perfect

I've always jokingly called Lady Antebellum "Fleetwood Mac For Dummies" because of their layered male/female harmonies and their 'behind the beat' sound. Their style apes Fleetwood Mac very much in my eyes... sans the extremely dumbed down lyrics. Regardless, I think this is a perfect pairing for Crossroads and it should prove to be quite enjoyable. :)

Wow LOL all the anti country fans are coming out. I get killed on here over commenting about hating today's music and rap crap.

OK I'm ok.LOL......

I rather have Stevie with Lady a then with Rascal Crapps. No typo.

I cant stand the whining voice of the lead singer.

Today's country is not like moms or dads or old school country music like Conway Twitty Loretta Lynn,George Jones and Tammy Wynnette .

I prefer the old school myself to listen too.

Lady A seems to carry on a little bet of the traditional sound with their tunes.

I wonder what tunes will be picked for the show.It would be great to hear Stevie do After the Glitter Fades , For What its Worth,Thats Alright plus her other country tunes.

Of course Stevie probably try out some Lady A tunes.

I'm surprise that they did not team up Taylor with Stevie for a Crossroads show.
Taylor's is swinging more into a pop star now.

I still blame the producers for not giving them more time to rehearse for the event.

OMG... why, Stevie? Why??! This is a collaboration that only some kind of manager or agent could have concocted. It's so cynical. I guess since Stevie helped to pave the lane for male and female singers in a rock band, LA would be, like, the 21st version of this meme? Uh... no. It's as if LA took the superficial elements of the FM sound and lobotomized away all of the drama, intensity and soul, and added a pinch of twangy guitars to appeal to country radio. Yuck. I would much rather see Stevie do a collaboration with Carly Rae Jepsen. Indeed, it would be an utter sh**show, but at least it would have come from a real place of genuine admiration (on Stevie's part).

Couldn't agree more. In addition, unless I'm completely out of the loop, aren't Lady A way beyond their 15 minutes!?! This is a total Stevie sell-out!:distress:

I'm in total agreement with HejiraNYC and Christopher - Lady Antebellum are appalling! Jesus Stevie, what has become of you? I lose respect for her on a daily basis... The sad part is that she probably truly believes "Need You Now" is on a par with Fleetwood Mac in their prime. So delusional.
Mind you, Little Big Town are no better than LA - both are slick, by-numbers, generic whores for hire.

Ha. Funny to imagine. I'm not sure that Rod Stewart insulted Stevie, but some of us got that vibe. Well, if she began not wanting to work with Rod, I couldn't even imagine how disastrous things would be with Keith.

I like much of Keith's music though -- not the "patriotic" stuff, but the rest. That is what upset me about the Chicks. They were wrongfully censored, but if they had their way, people they don't like (Reba and Toby) would be censored. I realized they were victims who would victimize others if given a chance.

Yes. More likely. Its one of FM will known tunes .What kills me how come Landslide was not release and a number 1 tune on the charts when the self titled album was released.I must of been sick that day while I was in Fleetwood Mac 101 class for the reasoning how come the tune did not get released and charted.

I always say without Stevie, there would be no Fleetwood Mac. She has constantly promoted the band. Got their stuff on Glee and done the talk show circuit.

Now She is doing the David Grohl thing and Crossroads and god only knows what else she will pop up in to get word of mouth of Fleetwood Mac's tour out there.

Here is my fear. Remember the Taylor Swift debacle. Taylor and Stevie were both terrible, but I think Stevie had a great excuse. She came off a big tour. Her voice was flat and she was tired. I hope she doesn't sound like that with Lady Antebellum. She has to sound great. I'm sure that is why she wasn't picked by other artist for Crossroads.

Not to mention the fact, that the Dixie Chicks controversy shot up just when Landslide hit #7 on the billboard charts and then it sank like a stone. Guilty by association. She seems a little cursed when it comes to the country scene.

Country music fans respect older artists and they are loyal and spend money. She needs get more of those fans.

I hope they do That's Alright and After the Glitter Fades. I would be happy.

I agree on the country fans with the older country artists.I love tuning in the Grand ole Opry every Tuesday Friday and Saturday to hear a 3 to four hour show with my favorites like Loretta Lynn ,Connie Smith ,Little Jimmy Dickins any other classic artists plus hear some of the new artists like Lady A perform on the show.

I agree on the song picks.Plus I can add FWIW from IYD Cheaper then Free.

Stevie does more promoting then any other artist I know.

Maybe she could crack a deal with Walmart like some other artists have done.I can see Stevie with the Walmart blue overalls pitching IYD DVD for $15.00.

I do have a feeling this upcoming CMT Crossroad will be a hit and the show will get released on DVD.I will keep me fingers crossed.I hope CMT will promote the crap out of it like their other shows.

Maybe even the release of her IYD Doc

I guess this collaboration was Stevie's idea:

Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks are hitting the stage this week to tape an episode of CMT Crossroads together in Los Angeles. While we don’t know the full story behind their collaboration yet, Lady A’s Hillary Scott says it was the legendary singer’s idea. “The way that this all came about is going to be in the show, because it’s a really cool story that we’re gonna sit down and let her tell how it all came about, because it wasn’t her management calling our management or CMT trying to call each of us, because they had the idea,” says Hillary. “This was her idea, and the way it came about was very organic and beautiful and I’m gonna let her tell that story, so you’ll have to watch it to hear the story.”

Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum Team for 'Crossroads' Taping
Ten-song set includes Fleetwood Mac and solo hits

By Steve Baltin
January 30, 2013
Rolling Stone

When rock icon Stevie Nicks and country trio Lady Antebellum convened at L.A.'s Sony Pictures Studios Tuesday to tape an upcoming episode of CMT's Crossroads, the most excited people in the room of a thousand or so were clearly Nicks and the Nashville trio.

In fact, it was hard to tell who was the bigger fan, with both consistently praising the other's work. It started from the very outset: after Nicks apologized for flubbing the opening lines of Lady Antebellum's "Love Don't Live Here," Charles Kelley let her know all was forgiven by shouting "Stevie ****ing Nicks!"

100 Greatest Singers: Stevie Nicks

Though no one in the audience seemed to mind starting off with five Lady Antebellum songs, Kelley commented at least three times on the format: "You're gonna have to suffer through a few Lady A songs first," he joked.

Nicks certainly did not mind. She told the audience she spent three months listening to the band's songs in preparation for this show. "These songs are amazing," she said. "These songs make you feel like you're in love."

Her biggest praise came for the new ballad "Golden," a song that Kelley explained is on their forthcoming album, which they sent to Nicks in hope of doing it on this night. She said that after a half a minute of listening to the song she was crying. She called it "their 'Landslide.'" To which Kelley responded, "Now we might cry."

When a piano was rolled out, while Kelley was tinkering around with Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind," Nicks hung over the piano. "This is every man's fantasy – Stevie Nicks draped over a piano," he said. "I would like a picture of this."

After Nicks left the stage for the upbeat "Downtown," she and her band returned for her turn. Kelley let everyone know the cultural significance of these songs by introducing "Gold Dust Woman": "If you don't know this next song, you suck."

Swept up in the night, Kelley had several humorous moments, from his attempt at the trademark Nicks twirl to recounting listening to Fleetwood Mac records in his bedroom at age 10. "Now we're hanging out. We're besties," he quipped.

Maybe they're not besties yet, though Nicks did tell the audience she had gifts backstage for Lady Antebellum's pregnant frontwoman, Hillary Scott. "Edge of Seventeen," one of her biggest solo hits, is a song she doesn't like to share with anybody because it is so personal, she said.

"I'm proud to share it with Lady Antebellum, because they're good enough to do it," she said.

Nicks took the time to recall the stories behind each of her songs, like how she wrote "Landslide" in Aspen, Colorado in 1973 and how she felt "a twinge of something, that this song is gonna be super-important in my life." She called it "the foundation of Fleetwood Mac," while Kelley called it "the greatest song ever." After a sublime rendition, Scott said, "Makes me cry every time."

Before a raucous "Stop Dragging My Heart Around," a song she originally performed with Tom Petty, Nicks told of producer Jimmy Iovine's insistence on finding a single for her debut solo album, Bella Donna. If it hadn't been for that demand, she said, she might not have had a solo career. She learned a lesson, she said, about listening to others and not letting pride get in the way. To which Kelly added, "Every person at our label has a huge smile right now." So did everyone in the venue by the time they finished "Rhiannon."

Set list:
"Love Don't Live Here
"Need You Now"
"Golden
"Cold As Stone"
"Just A Kiss
"Downtown"
"Gold Dust Woman
"Landslide"
"Edge Of Seventeen"
"Stop Dragging My Heart Around
"Rhiannon"

I sure wish they did Leather and Lace instead of Stop Dragging My Heart Around. So, how was Dreams not sung? Its her only #1 hit.

The latest CMT Crossroads pairs Lady Antebellum and Fleetwood Mac—and Lady A couldn't be more thrilled.

The taping happened Tuesday night (Jan. 29) in Los Angeles, and Lady A's Hillary Scott was pumped about a conference call beforehand with Stevie Nicks. After that call, a pregnant Hillary told reporters that she had an idea for her husband.

“I really kinda want her to be the honorary godmother of our child,” Hillary said, laughing. “She [Stevie] was just this amazing presence and person to talk to.”

For Lady A’s Charles Kelley, the taping brought his Fleetwood Mac love full circle.

Charles first discovered Fleetwood Mac at age 10, in his parents’ record collection.

“I went down and found some records of my mom’s and would play them and Rumours was one that I just was like, ‘Oh my gosh. Who in the world are these guys?’” he said.

“Just played it over and over in my room. I would play that over and over.”

There is no airdate yet for the Lady A/Fleetwood Mac Crossroads episode.

Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum swap songs at 'Crossroads' taping
Country trio debuts brand new song, 'Golden'

BY MELINDA NEWMAN WEDNESDAY, JAN 30, 2013 6:19 PM

Lady Antebellum frontwoman Hillary Scott takes the stage with Stevie Nicks at the CMT taping of "Crossroads."

As Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks prepared to run through Lady A’s Grammy-winning “Need You Now” again after flubbing the first take at a taping of “Crossroads,” Lady A’s Charles Kelley looked adoringly at Nicks and said, ‘You can do no wrong.” Nicks sassily shot back, “I can and I have.”

So it went with sweet and often amusing banter between Lady A’s Kelley and Hillary Scott and the Fleetwood Mac front woman throughout the 90-minute taping at Los Angeles’ Sony Studios.

When Lady Antebellum debuted with “Love Don’t Live Here” five years ago, critics often compared the trio to Fleetwood Mac for its pop-tinged sound and its dual lead singers in Scott and Kelley, so it seemed all the more appropriate to pair the two acts for “Crossroads,” CMT's 10-year old program that unites a country act with its musical hero from another genre.

It turns out Nicks has long been a Lady A fan. "Crossroads executive producer Bill Flanagan told the audience, “We’ve been trying to get Stevie Nicks for years. She said her favorite band is Lady Antebellum.”
“I’ve been listening to their songs for a solid three months,” Nicks said, between “Need You Now” takes. “My neighbors must be like, ‘What? We thought she was in Fleetwood Mac’.”

The new group— Fleetwood Antebellum? Lady Mac?—devoted the first half of the taping to Lady A hits, including “Love Don’t Live Here” and “We Own the Night” album track, “Cold As Stone,” with Nicks either singing Scott’s parts or along with her and Kelley. Occasionally, Dave Heywood chimed in for gorgeous four-part harmonies. The trio debuted a lovely new song, “Golden,” which Nicks was among the first to hear. “Half a minute into it, I started to cry,” Nicks said. “This song is their ‘Landslide’.” Who knows if the love ballad will reach such legendary heights, but it’s clear having Nicks praise it so was enough for Lady A.

Later in the evening, the foursome performed “Landslide,” which Kelley introduced as “the greatest song ever.” Nicks recounted writing the song in 1973 after her boyfriend/music partner Lindsey Buckingham had gone to tour with the Everly Brothers. “I knew it was going to be special,” she said.

Lady A and Nicks also wrapped their vocals around a stunning, haunting “Gold Dust Woman” and “The Edge of 17,” marking the first time that Nicks said she had ever performed the latter tune, written about Tom Petty, with anyone else. For trivia buffs, the title comes from Nicks’ misunderstanding Petty’s first wife, who told Nicks she met Petty at “the age of 17.” Her southern accent was so strong, Nicks thought she said “the edge of 17.”

Speaking of Petty, next came the Nicks/Petty duet “Stop Draggin' My Heart Around,” with Kelley ably filling in for Petty as he towered over the diminutive Nicks.

Nicks then bantered with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, who was seated in the audience. Tyler previously taped a “Crossroads” with Carrie Underwood. As Kelley watched the exchange, he said, “Am I dreaming?”

Yep, heady stuff for the members of the trio, none of whom were born when Fleetwood Mac’s classic album, “Rumours” came out in 1977 or Nicks’ first solo album, “Bella Donna” in 1981.

CMT has yet to announce an air date for the Lady A/Stevie Nicks’ edition of “Crossroads.”

You know, I DO like country music, but on Sirius XM I keep switching back and forth between channels 57, 58 and 59 and every time I see Lady Antebellum's name pop up, I change the channel really quick. I don't like them from what I know.

But maybe I'll hear something on this show that will surprise me. I wasn't that interested in LBT before, but I did start to notice them after Lindsey's show, because I loved what they did on The Chain. I don't think I got that excited over their own music though, not until Pontoon blew me away. I was . Michele

Hillary of Lady Antebellum says she wants to name Stevie the Godmother of her child now and that she's going to talk to her husband about it.

Stevie just racks up those Godchildren doesn't she.

Well, after she has made this public what is she going to do, come back to Stevie and say, "Uh . . . my husband said he didn't want you as godmother." Awkward.

That reminds me of Rebecca Romjijn saying she didn't plan to name her daughter Dolly but she made a sort of offhand comment to Dolly Parton and then she was locked into it.

Reminds me of how Dolly is Miley Cyrus' "fairy"-godmother. Billy Ray just asked her to be her honorary godmother and be there for her, no religious thing involved. It'll probably be the same thing if Hillary asked Stevie to be her baby's honorary godmother.

* Fun Fact: My mother has the mentality of a 12 year old and Dolly's childhood home that she now owns is about a 3 minute walk from my cabin in TN. When my mom heard at the grocery store that Miley was in town staying at DP's, she walked down to her house everyday to peak over the fence because she was 'looking for Hannah Montana'

I remember Stevie dedicated Landslide to her goddaughters named Chris and Lindsey once. She pointed out the irony of her friend naming the girls "Chris" and "Lindsey," rather than Stevie.

I guess I'm pretty fussy what my ears hear.

If I want to listen to country music. It will be old school classic country from the 1940's to the 1980's.

I'm glad Stevie did not team up with Rascal Crapps

or Jason Aldean.

I'm glad that Lady Antebellum stays with country roots instead of so called country music of today.

I'm happy that her voice sounds 10 times better on these short clips then they did for the first sound city shows. And I'm loving their harmonies on the landslide chorus. Better then when Stevie harmonized with her back up singers for a few tours.

Steven Tyler Calls Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks "Crossroads" Performance a "Magic Moment"

http://www.wwgp1050.com/2013/01/30/steven-tyler-calls-lady-antebellum-and-stevie-nicks-crossroads-performance-a-magic-moment/

30 January 2013

Steven Tyler was in the audience for Lady Antebellum‘s CMT Crossroads performance with Stevie Nicks Tuesday night in Los Angeles. The Aerosmith frontman posted a picture with Lady A on his website after the show, with the note, “The whole night was a magic moment.”

Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks performed Lady A’s new song “Golden” during Tuesday night’ taping. According to Rolling Stone, Stevie compared the song to the Fleetwood Mac classic “Landslide,” which Nicks wrote and Dixie Chicks made a #2 country hit in 2002. “Golden” appear on Lady A’s upcoming studio album, and Stevie says she cried after listening to the song for just a minute-and-a-half. When Charles Kelley of Lady A heard Stevie say that onstage, he said, “Now we might cry.”

The installment of CMT Crossroads will air in the coming months.

Stevie Nicks Joins Lady Antebellum For Epic Tv Gig

Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum's dreams came true in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (29Jan13) when the foursome teamed up to tape an upcoming episode of country music cable network Cmt's Crossroads series.

The Fleetwood Mac star joined the Need You Now hitmakers onstage at Sony Pictures Studios and it quickly became apparent she was a big fan of the trio.

She told fans she had spent three months listening to the band's music to prepare for the show and stated, "These songs are amazing. These songs make you feel like you're in love."

The two acts then performed on each other's songs and a cover of Billy Joel's New York State of Mind.

Introducing Nicks' Gold Dust Woman as part of the set, Lady Antebellum star Charles Kelley said, "If you don't know this next song, you suck," and the veteran almost brought Lady Antebellum's pregnant Hillary Scott to tears as she revealed she had gifts for her backstage and then delivered the biggest gift of the night - a duet on her classic track Edge of Seventeen.

Nicks said she rarely performs the tune with anyone else because it is "so personal", but she added, "I'm proud to share it with Lady Antebellum, because they're good enough to do it."

Scott was fighting back tears again moments later after performing Landslide with Nicks, admitting, "It makes me cry every time (I sing it)."

Bandmate Kelley called the classic track "the best song ever".

The head honchos at CMT had been trying in vain to get Stevie Nicks as a special guest on their annual program, “Crossroads”, since it debuted 10 years ago.

2013 was their lucky year — all thanks to Lady Antebellum.

Nicks agreed to appear on the show if the powers-that-be could secure her new favorite band, which, of course, they did.

Thus, the rock legend and seven-time Grammy winners Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood joined forces on Tuesday evening at Sony Studios for a collaboration that will go down in musical history.

Nicks was at her best, belting out a series of Antebellum hits before crooning favorites like “Rhiannon”, “Landslide” and “Edge of Seventeen.”

She entertained the audience with stories about each song, saying that she wrote “Landslide” with Fleetwood Mac bandmate Lindsey Buckingham ditched her in Aspen and how “Edge of Seventeen” came to be; she mistakenly heard Tom Petty‘s wife say “edge” instead of “age.”

CMT has yet to release an air date for the iconic special.

People Magazine

http://celebritybabies.people.com/2013/02/01/crossroads-lady-antebellum-stevie-nicks-hillary-scott/

With a baby due early this summer, Hillary Scott is reading all she can about its development and has learned that her unborn child can now hear voices. That includes not only the Lady Antebellum frontwoman and her husband Chris Tyrrell, but one very cool songbird — Stevie Nicks.

Scott’s group, including bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, recently taped a CMT Crossroads show with the Fleetwood Mac legend that is slated to air later this year.

“Driving over here today, I was thinking [that] the first voice — other than mine, my husband’s speaking voice and the boys — that our baby’s ever heard is Stevie Nicks,” Scott, 26, tells the station on the Hot 20 Countdown, airing Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

“I just thought, ‘What a lucky kid already.’”

For her part, Nicks also seems pleased that she will endure as a part of the child’s legacy. “I said that in 10 years, whether it’s a little boy or a little girl, it will be able to watch this film and go ‘I was there,’” Nicks explains.

Has Scott’s pregnancy spawned baby fever among Kelley and Haywood, who are each married themselves? Not just yet, the guys demurred, as Nicks good-naturedly stepped in to defend them.

“Hey, we’re just taking it day by day. I’m just soaking up this moment,” Kelley tells CMT. ”One is good, one is good,” interjects Nicks. Adds Haywood: “One for the band. One is good for awhile.”
