After a busy 2012 promoting and touring behind her latest solo album, In Your Dreams, Stevie Nicks is turning her full attention to Fleetwood Mac in the coming year. The band will hit the road for a lengthy North American tour in early spring, and Stevie says her New Year's resolutions are all about her work with the Mac.

"I'm just going to work as hard as I can to make this Fleetwood Mac thing be as great as I know it can be," she told ABC News Radio. "It is a lot of work, and it takes a lot of thought, but we're all really willing to do that."

She added that maintaining her health also will be a part of her commitment to the band. "My resolution is always to just do what I do and do it well," she noted, "[and] take care of myself on the other side of that, physically, and make it great."

Prior to the tour kickoff, Stevie and the band plan to put out a couple of recently-recorded new songs. While Stevie admits she isn't sure about the when, where and how when it comes to the release of the new tracks, she says she's very excited about them.

"I don't think [the record company reps have] exactly decided what they're gonna do or how they're gonna present [the songs]," she tells ABC News Radio. "But, whatever, I can tell you they're done, and they sound amazing. So, they're gonna fly out there into the world in some way, shape or form."

Fleetwood Mac's North American tour leg kicks off on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio, and is scheduled through a June 12 show in Detroit.

I'm glad she sounds positive, but I hope this doesn't end up like most people's resolutions. They really need to make this show something special since they did a Greatest Hits tour just a few years ago. Interestingly, they having been touting this as a GH tour as they did with Unleashed, so we shall see what happens!

I guess this finally solves the enigma of whether or not the Mac are under contract with a record company. My hope is the company (which can only be Warner Bros/Reprise) will force their hand to release an entire album or nothing at all. :D

i saw that too and was surprised after all the talk here that Mac are not under any contract. but considering that record company stuff is in [ ], and therefore something she didn't really say but assumed by the writer, maybe by "they" she meant management, and not necessarily the record company?

The record company would probably prefer for them not to make an entire new album at this point. Let's face it, with the costs - it's not going to bring them much profit. WB/Reprise would much rather focus on their catalog (Rumours re-releases, etc.) and continue banking on the past...releasing a couple of songs on iTunes won't make them much money, but they don't stand to lose much either...so, if it satisfies the band - why not?

From the band's standpoint - the couple of songs could help promote their tour, which is the big cash cow.

guess that would make a lot of sense - IF they have a record company (for stuff that is not their old catalog).

from an interview more than a year ago:

"By Dean Goodman

Fleetwood Mac is also a free agent after more than 40 years at Warner Bros., Buckingham said. The Anglo-American rock icons last released an album in 2003 and were the ninth biggest touring act in 2009 with U.S. ticket sales of $55 million, according to Pollstar.

Buckingham, 61, said Fleetwood Mac will continue to tour and record."

again, this new interview is putting words into Stevie's mouth / assuming something she didn't say. she is probably talking about band's management (whatever that may be these days now with Azoff exiting LN - may be even more complicated and fragmented than it used to be if Stevie's management is still with frontline).

I cant blame the record company for turning down new tunes from older artists. They wont make the cut to top of the charts with the younger artists.

Of course if they do something completely different then the normal tunes.

We seen that result with IYD CD .I still have not heard any tune from that CD on the radio.

I must live in a dead spot for hearing IYD tunes on the radio.

If FM throws out a new tune or two .If they do.We might have a chance to hear it for about 3 weeks on the radio until they bury it with some of the new artists tunes.

The last great airplay was with FM's SYW CD.

Stevie's new years resolution is to continue what she's been doing .

Keep busy what she loves doing.Writing,Singing live and be healthy.

Well I think that record company doesn't want to invest money in producing new studio album. They need few new tracks probably for new compilation. But that's only my opinion.
