this is very nice of you, but you missed many huge LB fans, and added one or 2 who probably shouldn't be listed as such by any stretch. so i feel the need to right this wrong (see vivfox, no good deed goes unpunished ;) )
from the poll a while ago (here http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=1515) here are the people who stated they prefer LB over other 2 songwriters in FM:
3rd World Man, bangdrum, BaronVonBielski, Black penguin, bluefox4000, Cammie, crazydivaz89, D.W-Suite, elle, erwk05, estranged4life, gfd1963, holidayroad, joshywashy377, kaitsy, Lindsfan, Lori40, McTrouble, MrStevie, Nico, Peestie, redtulip, ryan4136, sanders8323, shackin'up, Silver Springs, wondergirl9847
from this list of pro-LB voters in the poll linked above, i want to give a shout-out to some who i enjoyed talking to over the interwebs, whose posts i enjoyed a lot, and others that i had a pleasure of meeting personally (bold) and we had some great times together:
bangdrum
Cammie
crazydivaz89
D.W-Suite
erwk05
gfd1963
holidayroad
Lindsfan
Lori40
kaitsy
McTrouble
Nico
Peestie
redtulip
shackin'up
wondergirl9847
and then people not listed as voters in the poll above, probably because they either joined later or rarely post but are huge Lindsey supporters:
abbijoy
BTFLCHLD
crylove77
edgeof27
Erin
Hellomonster
Jetta07
lbfan
maccafan
madness fades
playon81
Rockaway
Sahara
sushud
WelshWitchPMD
and although not primarily a LB fan, i will add Michele as someone who is hugely contributing to a LB forum, in extremely level-headed way (most of the time ;) ).
who did i forget? (i'm sure i must have... probably someone who is a huge fan and supporter and has been for years)
EDIT: just to clarify because some seem confused judging by posts that followed: this is not an attempt to create some kind of list of LB's biggest fans. anyway, there are many huge LB fans that i know of who are not even on this board, for one reason or another. also, this is not some exclusive list - if anything it is an attempt to be more inclusive than the original post was. throwing around words like clique-ish does feel alienating and unnecessary.

Eh, most people who post on the forums support the band members and spend tons of $$$ on them. I don't find it very necessary to make lists of the biggest supporters etc.
It was sweet of Vivfox to dedicate the thread to a few people she knew who would appreciate it, for sure. Beyond that it becomes superfluous and borderlining on exclusive/cliquey.
But regardless, thanks for posting Viv! Enjoyed the pictures a lot and there were quite a few I hadn't seen.

It was really sweet of Vivfox to think of his LB fan/friends :xoxo: But, I admit my first thought too, was that there were a LOT more very obsessed fans not mentioned. And, I don't believe most people spends lots of $$$. Plenty do for sure, but some have traveled half way around the world numerous times!!! Some have gone to 10,20,30,40 shows or more (solo Lindsey shows, not FM, because we're talking LB obsession)!! So, I think it's nice that Elle included others, thereby actually making it LESS cliquey :)

I think people spend what they are able. Many people may not have the luxury or the means to travel across the world to see the band or Lindsey, or go to 20 shows per tour, or even to go to a SINGLE show, although maybe they wish they could. Which is why I personally don't feel it's right to single out people based on that. I think dedicating something to a few people for fun is different than actually making a list of the biggest fans. I personally feel the latter is unnecessary.
But that's just my opinion, and I can't expect everyone to agree. :)

you do have a point, i in fact never categorized myself as belonging to any group or party, and strongly dislike such categorization. i don't feel that stating i'm a fan of someone's music puts me in some exclusive club.
since the thread listed me as one of the people who would appreciate it, i felt i or someone else listed would be the right person to state that it's not only me and a few select others, that in fact there are many other people, some that i even personally know, who would appreciate this thread.

Just a thought (this IS a discussion forum after all)...
Maybe one reason so few people post here anymore is because whenever someone states an opinion they get reprimanded
TWO people found it necessary to call Elle's post unnecessary becuase, after reading Vivfox's post, she thought to include others. And yet, Elle's post was cliquish, but Vivfox's (no offense, I appreciate his original post too) was not?? Why is that, exactly?? Personally, I don't think either post was cliquish. What I don't understand is why they're being judged differently.
And, with all due respect, I don't really understand the categorizing thing. Elle tried to do a nice thing, and point out that Lindsey has LOTS of dedicated fans. We're not a category. We're just fans. It's truly amazing the things that get blown out of proportion.

Indeed we do  I've met so many good people both at concerts, and online, that I've long since lost count. I make a point of, and I know many other LB fans do too, including and encouraging anyone who shows an interst in Lindsey and his music. It's the love of everything about him, that makes us anything BUT cliquish
I'm so confused. This thread was a very nice gesture and the pictures shared are amazing. And I appreciated the title, which grabbed my attention for sure.
But what is the big deal about elle's post? Why are people saying it is "unnecessary" if she decided to acknowledge other people who she knows are also huge LB supporters? I saw nothing but fairness in her post. I admit that I have often felt that I don't really belong in any clique on "The Ledge." I'm more of an outsider just sharing my love for Lindsey, who is my first and foremost where Fleetwood Mac is concerned. But I have so much appreciation and love for my fellow Lindsey fans, and elle's post was very appreciated by me. Sometimes it does sting to feel that, because one doesn't post as often or maybe isn't quite as consistent, they shouldn't also be considered amongst the group of huge Lindsey fans. Because I definitely am. Frankly, Lindsey is the only reason I come onto "The Ledge."
That and to read threads by many of you, especially the Lindsey stans. I am not slighting Vivfox's post. But I DO understand why elle felt the need to give a shout out to other huge Lindsey fans. She's a very fair person and I really admire that about her. Thank you elle.

Well, I think I got my own separate "category" in Elle's list. I responded to that description of myself.
As for clique-ishness, I think that many fans believe there are certain ways to be a fan and they like to measure others' fervor against their own and rank it.

could be, i really dislike clique-ishness. in any shape or form. when i first started posting, i felt almost every post i made was being largely ignored by most who just continued talking to their own little clique, it was like HS kids lol. however, you made me feel welcome and that was one of the reasons i stayed. i don't feel clique-ishness is the problem here these days and that's a positive thing. but i do feel bad that so few people post here while choosing to start FB groups instead, for one reason or another. it would be great if we can change that.

This sentence bugs me, and i think that's what CADreaming meant when saying it is "unnecessary". Because you didn't categorize her as a LB fan (him? i think it's "her"...) while she was "listed" in Vivfox' dedication, which is, i'm sorry, not a very nice thing to do. I believe that you can be both a huge Stevie AND a huge Lindsey fan... And if stating the opposite is not being clique-ish...

Great to see you again Nico, but I'm sorry it took this to make you post again. I've missed you around here. I thought Elle's acknowledgement of those she felt were left out of Vivfox's shout out was certainly fair. But, I thought her bringing attention to a thread in a different forum as a way to gauge Lindsey support was totally unfair and unnecessary. Elle will admit she likes to stir stuff up and that's exactly what she was doing. I just wasn't going to let it slide because it's not her place to label my support, for instance, of Lindsey Buckingham by my vote in a poll for Stevie Nicks as my favorite songwriter of the group. It's just simply not accurate. I personally was flattered Vivfox mentioned me in his original post because I'm sure most of these ladies who keep this forum going would not deem me to be included in their clique. And, honestly, it's not true -- I've probably spent more money, time and traveled further to see Lindsey than either Stevie or FM. I adore the man, but everyone knows that I also equally adore Stevie. I may be a rare breed - it always seems to be so split between "Lindsey fans" vs. "Stevie fans" and I don't usually fall into one of those groups over the other and I don't really understand it.
So, that's why I thought Elle's post was unnecessary. I don't begrudge the listing of those who may have been unintentionally overlooked in Vivfox's post, but singling out others as not being fit to be included in the list was not for her to judge. You can't possibly know how big of fan someone is based on anything posted -- or not posted.
As for clique-ishness, I think that many fans believe there are certain ways to be a fan and they like to measure others' fervor against their own and rank it.
Yeah, I agree and I don't believe in it.

Hi there, thanks for the post. I'm a "she", by the way. :) And, I appreciate your response. I thought Vivfox's post was wonderful and that he was only doing in this forum what he had so generously done in the others -- sharing wonderful pictures. His list may not have been all inclusive, but again I don't think that he intentionally slighted anyone - like you said it was just a list of folks he knew for sure were big LB fans - and Elle's expansion was nice.
Just wanted to explain. I'm all for enjoying the pictures again. :)

A dedication is a personal choice. You don't have the right to claim that 2 people shouldn't be listed in my dedication. If you look through the Ledge from the time you joined and way before that you will see that all these people I mentioned have posted positively in the Lindsey forum. She thanks you for the kind words. I'm not a fan of cliques. When I joined The Ledge in 2007 there were cliques and there were many members who were not in a clique as well. I am always one to embrace new Ledgies because I want everyone to feel like a part of the group.
I appreciate CADreaming and I appreciate elle and I love being a member of these forums. And just for the record, it drives me crazy that my screen name isn't listed as the way it was when I signed up as VivFox. Capital V and capital F

When I joined The Ledge in 2007 there were cliques and there were many members who were not in a clique as well. I am always one to embrace new Ledgies because I want everyone to feel like a part of the group. I have been friendly to every Ledgie on this site and several of them were venomous to me from the word go.
When I joined the Ledge, I found the atmosphere very toxic, so after one or two posts, I moved over to FMLegacy and didn't return for four years. Four years later . . . as Stevie would say.
Cliques are fine, when you are rejoicing in each other and your shared interests, but when you start mocking those you consider to be on the outside and buoying your own status and sense of togetherness by distinguishing yourselves from them in a negative way, then it's not so cute.
I think Facebook is a great place for that kind of thing. I find the exodus from The Ledge to FB inevitable. It's just a sign of the technology and the times we live in and I don't try to fight it, because I think everyone should have a place where they can post whatever they want to or about whomever they want, without fear of the response you'll get here when you do that.
My philosophy, on the Ledge, doesn't necessarily foster relationships among posters, because I don't believe in labeling other users. If you say something about someone else that doesn't comport with their own self- view, they are very likely to mind and they're going to tell you so. So, unless it's a pal of yours and you're joking around (as you and Viv sometimes do) I always like to talk about the band members and not about each other.

Well, on an active forum, i like the way everyone has their own niche. I mean, studies have shown that twins develop interests that complement or compensate for each other. So, if one twin is very good in math, maybe the other one will become strong in English. You kind of find your place in the other's weakness.
So, on the X-Files forum there were people who were all into the mythology episodes. About the alien invasion coming through . . . ears of corn, I reckon. Corn and black oil. Well, that was not my forte at all. And because the people online knew every twist, detail and nuance of the mythology narrative, I found that I paid less and less attention to it myself, because if I needed information about it, I could always read it in their posts. I never needed to have it in my own head. So, I would concentrate on one part of the show and use other posters as my back up storage drive when it came to plotlines that were less compelling to me.
That's what I liked about the Ledge when I came. If I wanted to know about Chicken Shack, I knew that there were Christine fans like Gail and Mary Anne who knew it. People always talk about the angry Smile at You and I think it's FM on that demo and I knew that someone like David would be able to listen to the instruments and give an informed opinion as to whether the players on the "angry" demo were FM members or not. To me, that's what CADreaming is like. She has her own forte and it was so much fun to come here and see that she had thrown up the lyrics to Lindsey's SWS songs when those Saban videos were released, because I was really into trying to find a connection between the new songs and the past and I knew that she could understand that, even if we came to very different conclusions. It was a very fun time.
I guess I never wanted anyone to be the same type of FM fan that I am because I actually get more out of a board when there are different kinds of fans than I am. Not into Peter Green, but there have been times when I've needed insight from people who are. You can kind of make a collective brain together. You know, you keep track of how many times Krycek has threatened Mulder's life and I'll count how many times Scully has reached out to hold his hand:laugh:. Michele
Michele
I wonder which "list" you think I make...
Is there a shipper list?
from this list of pro-LB voters in the poll linked above, i want to give a shout-out to some who i enjoyed talking to over the interwebs, whose posts i enjoyed a lot, and others that i had a pleasure of meeting personally (bold) and we had some great times together:
bangdrum
Cammie
crazydivaz89
D.W-Suite
erwk05
gfd1963
holidayroad
Lindsfan
Lori40
kaitsy
McTrouble
Nico
Peestie
redtulip
shackin'up
wondergirl9847
and then people not listed as voters in the poll above, probably because they either joined later or rarely post but are huge Lindsey supporters:
abbijoy
BTFLCHLD
crylove77
edgeof27
Erin
Hellomonster
Jetta07
lbfan
maccafan
madness fades
playon81
Rockaway
Sahara
sushud
WelshWitchPMD
and since we seem to be doing personal shout-outs (we are after all wrapping a great year as far as LB shows and new music!), i want to give a shout-out to few more people who are not primarily LB fans as far as FM fandom goes (and don't have any problems saying that! ;) ), but are nevertheless great LB supporters and have become great friends to me over the last 2 years: Amlyn and london who i met personally and we spent together some fun times, and MacMan who i never met in person but we talked a lot and he's been such a great LB supporter and incredibly fair and balanced source of LB information.
I admit that I have often felt that I don't really belong in any clique on "The Ledge." I'm more of an outsider just sharing my love for Lindsey, who is my first and foremost where Fleetwood Mac is concerned. But I have so much appreciation and love for my fellow Lindsey fans, and elle's post was very appreciated by me.
or maybe you are in the "clique" of LB defenders when "fair and balanced" people decide we all wear buckyblinders if we say something they don't like?
That and to read threads by many of you, especially the Lindsey stans. I am not slighting Vivfox's post. But I DO understand why elle felt the need to give a shout out to other huge Lindsey fans. She's a very fair person and I really admire that about her. Thank you elle.
<3 :xoxo:
you got a special shout-out, not a category.
I would like to be categorized as someone that doesn't like to be categorized.
Oh, and I really like LB's music.
 :wavey:
Feel free to categorise me - I don't mind in the least!
I will always be ecstatic to be in an exclusive obsessive Lindsey category clique
lol - finally someone who wants to be in the "clique".
Nice to see Elle selected me for the first team too. Always a huge Lindsey fan, just don't get the time to post as much these days but definitely check in everyday for my fix.
i would never forget you! always understanding and defending LB, when almost everyone else is more than ready to jump on him for one reason or another!
A dedication is a personal choice. You don't have the right to claim
true! and wow VivFox - that whole post was harsh! i definitely feel properly reprimanded. and see VivFox, the same way you "have a right" to dedicate a thread to whoever you want, i have a right to give a shout-out to whoever i want, don't you think?
reprimands and nitpicking is exactly what several people pointed to in this very thread is what drives them away from posting although they love to discuss anything Lindsey:
Maybe one reason so few people post here anymore is because whenever someone states an opinion they get reprimanded
You can now just put me in "nitpicking" category!
it makes me sad that so few people post when it doesn't need to be that way. just look at the list of people in my shout-out! wouldn't it be so much more interesting around here if only a third of those people (maybe even just a third of the ones that i personally met before) would feel like their thoughts are welcome instead of being accused of wearing buckyblinders every time they decide to defend or take LB's side in some discussion?
so:
Yep, lots more! Not clique-ish, we welcome LB lovers of all shapes and sizes!
Indeed we do  I've met so many good people both at concerts, and online, that I've long since lost count. I make a point of, and I know many other LB fans do too, including and encouraging anyone who shows an interest in Lindsey and his music. It's the love of everything about him, that makes us anything BUT cliquish
I guess I never wanted anyone to be the same type of FM fan that I am because I actually get more out of a board when there are different kinds of fans than I am. Not into Peter Green, but there have been times when I've needed insight from people who are. You can kind of make a collective brain together.
  definitely not into group thinking but collective / complementary brains instead!
and it's amazing how many interesting discussions can be carried on, and how many varied and polar opposite opinions or insights different people from all over the world can express if they are not immediately thrown into some category like "ah, you will always mindlessly defend LB no matter what he does".

It doesn't make me sad, Elle. I think people have other places where they are posting and having fun with each other and maybe that's where they need to be. If you think it is nitpicking because you said that there are people included in Vivfox's list who aren't LB fans and shouldn't be included by any stretch of the imagination and other people didn't like your remark and said so, then you're going to continue to get nitpicked and this place is not going to get any better for you.
I'm sorry you don't feel welcome, but I don't think that comment of yours was very welcoming. You've done a lot for the board, but I don't see it ever shaping up to be the kind of place you envision. Unfortunately, maybe this just isn't the place for either the most passionate SN fans or the most passionate LB fans. I don't think that's a sad thing. Just a thing.

Yeah but TV shows are way more satisfying because you actually see what's happening :). Here when you argue about Stevie and Lindsey there's always the issue of 'what if i'm wrong', because you never really know. I don't even trust Carol Ann (but then again who does?). Yeah but then again in the same posts you read something like that :

You're right. And with human beings, even if we could see everything, we still wouldn't know everything. It's all subject to interpretation.
I guess with tv shows you like to think there is one definitive truth. No matter how a viewer perceives something, you often think that you can find an ultimate "yes" or "no" answer, depending on what the writer intended.
With people, even if they were witness to or participants in the same event, they will each have their own truth about it. With CAH I think my main problem was that sometimes I didn't even think she was telling the truth as she saw it. But I devoured Storms. Michele

 but of course, and that's a good thing. what mostly bugs is when someone claims (on and on and on ;)) how fair, balanced and unbiased they are while doing the "reprimanding"... so after a while most other people just give up on discussion and decide they have better things to do with their lives. and then some random person with mild FM interest starts googling LB and finds these boards and gets some potentially misleading impressions.
i freely admit i am LB biased and i think that most SN fans or CM fans do not claim they are unbiased either. that's what makes the world go around, we all have different interests and likes. although have to say that you seem to be pretty unbiased and i find that a refreshing rarity. same with Nancy, or Amlyn. or MacMan. (and no, you all should not consider yourself categorized now ;) )

I love all three guys. I don't love them equally, but I strive for equality. I mean, I used to have Don't Stop as my ringtone and I said, "Well, Christine is gone. So, you can do it. But if she was still here, you couldn't have her as a ringtone above those other two."
So, I am playing some kind of OCD game with myself about the three of them.
But when it comes to brass tacks, I never put the gal or the dame above LB.

I agree with the 'yes' or 'no' thing. I think the more there is possibility for different perceptions of the show, of its truth, the more interesting it is. That's why i think the build-up to Mulder and Scully being together was actually more interesting than them being together, because there were so many people who weren't shippers at all, and wouldn't believe that there was something going on (til it became obvious). And therefore, you root for a couple, but there are downers, and you just live with this incertainty, and it's way more exciting :). When it was all said, and it's the same for every single fiction couple, i feel happy we get a happy closure but i'm also way less excited.
Anyway, there's a bit in Storms that i find especially interesting, it is that moment when they are all doing the Rolling Stone photoshoot. She says it was a wrap in 45 minutes, and then Lindsey said (can't find the quote) he stayed on the bed of the photoshoot for like an hour...with Stevie. i would die to know the truth about that :).

Well, that was one of the odder passages in Storms. First of all, CAH says that the shoot took place in her house. That is just false. To me, it's like she said that deliberately to discount the stories that Stevie and Lindsey have told about the shoot. It's like she wanted to tell the reader that Stevie and Lindsey didn't have the time or access to share an intimate moment during the shoot, because she was there and it was in her bedroom. But it wasn't.
Yes, Stevie and Lindsey both told different versions when they recalled the shoot for a Rolling Stone anniversary issue. Like you, I don't have the quote right now. We have laughed about it in threads here somewhere, which I can't find at the time. Stevie had them practically making out for 30-45 minutes and Lindsey says it was more like 15, but the discrepancies, as slight as they were, were hilarious.

Oh, here's a post with the quotes.
http://www.ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showpost.php?p=204257&postcount=3
"Christine really didn't want to be next to John, because they were just divorced," Nicks adds. "So he was the odd man out, reading the magazine. Afterwards, Lindsey and I got to talking about how amazing it was that not so long ago I was a waitress and he didn't have a job, and now we were on the cover of Rolling Stone with this huge record. And we lay there for two hours talking and making out. Finally, Annie had to tell us to leave, because she had rented the room for only so long. But in one afternoon she put Lindsey and me back together and also planted the seed for Mick and me, which happened a year later. You want to know the power of Annie Leibovitz, there you go."
As for Buckingham, he remembers the photo session a little differently. "For Stevie and me, the wounds and animosities were still very fresh," he says. "So the idea for the photo wasn't all that funny. We had to compartmentalize our feelings to keep the band functional, and at the end of the session, we had this moment of not being able to avoid all that had been lost. We embraced for about fifteen minutes, and Mick finally came over and said that people were starting to get uncomfortable. I don't know how healthy all this display of our personal life was, but that's showbiz."
Stevie said they talked and made out for two hours. What a nut. Logistically, do you see making out at a photo shoot with a photographer, her assistants and make up/wardrobe people roaming around, for two whole hours?
Lindsey said that they confronted what they'd lost and embraced for fifteen minutes.
Carol says the whole shoot took place in her home, under her watchful eye and I think, would have us to know there was no embracing or making out.

MAKING OUT??!:laugh:. I don't understand why she lies about these things. This all book is about Carol Ann trying to make us feel sorry for her, and when she has one real opportunity, she hides it. Well, i guess it's a matter of pride. She won't admit that there was something going on between Lindsey and Stevie, aka the hotel scene when Lindsey "solved the problem" with Stevie.
I also think that something happened between Lindsey and Stevie during the Japan leg of the Tusk tour, but this is just assumption.

I'm pretty sure she was still living in her own apartment and still working at the studio. So she wasn't there at the beginning of the shoot at least, according to what she wrote.

Oh, here's a post with the quotes.

THANK YOU :D.
"But in one afternoon she put Lindsey and me back together and also planted the seed for Mick and me, which happened a year later. You want to know the power of Annie Leibovitz, there you go". Back together, really, Stevie??
In a way Carol Ann and Stevie are very similar : both excessive in their statements.
Two hours is exaggerated i'm sure.

How the hell did this get on to Storms?????????
Anyway although I still value being a member here, I sure am glad there are more fun places to hang out where one can have a laugh and not take oneself so seriously! :p
I joined The Ledge because I love Lindsey (and to an extent F/Mac) and I wanted some lighthearted fun - after all, that's what talking about your favourite thing should be: fun!!!!
So maybe I don't come here as often as I used to - it's way too serious for my silly personality!
Too much huffing and puffing about nothing! :sorry:
But I do still like to post some daft comments when things get too serious so I'll leave you for now with a little ditty:-
The sun has got his hat on
Hip hip hip hooray
The sun has got his hat on
And he's coming out today
I'm here all week folks! :D
BTW - If only you could all just accept that Lindsey is THE best! :D ;);)
*Ready to be jumped all over now but I don't mind* ;)

lol Viv - but that's my point - we / you can make it as silly and fun and lighthearted as much as we want - as well as serious at times. although i do understand that many feel it's not worth their time and effort.
that said - spare us your ditties in the future please :p :D ;)

oh but of course! in fact, that's the ultimate truth - and rumor has it that anybody who has ever posted anything in this forum has to completely agree with that :p :D ;)
although isn't something off if, in LB fan forum where by definition people should be able to freely be "LB fanatics" as much as they want, we expect to be jumped on when stating "LB is the best"? what's wrong with that picture?
and all - before you get your knickers knotted, twisted or whatever - this is just my bad attempt at joking. :p

Stevie has a love affair with the phrase 2 hours. She uses it often, especially when referring to her live show. I would LOVE to see her perform for 2 whole hours. It's never happened nor will it ever happen.

 but of course, and that's a good thing. what mostly bugs is when someone claims (on and on and on ;)) how fair, balanced and unbiased they are while doing the "reprimanding"... so after a while most other people just give up on discussion and decide they have better things to do with their lives. and then some random person with mild FM interest starts googling LB and finds these boards and gets some potentially misleading impressions.
Well it's obvious you are talking about me here. I don't have a problem with reminding you that I didn't agree with your statement of who is and who isn't a fan of Lindsey's. I have always appreciated your positive contributions to this board and have both privately and publicly told you so. I'm not worried about some random person stumbling on this thread and getting potentially misleading impressions of us because one cannot predict the future or how a potential new member may perceive us.
