Seeing as this is my first floor show I wanted to know what to look forward to. I an in section 3 row M. Any shot if getting closer? How's the view from the 13th row?

Pretty damn good. I got floor seats for Pittsburgh and I'm in section 5 right in the middle about 30 rows back. I wish I were closer but floor seats are great. You can dance away and no one looks at you like your crazy.

I usually sit between the 10th & 20th rows at shows, and the view is ok... but not as close as you'd hope for the money & effort to secure those seats. The band always has their monitor speakers pushed pretty far back from the edge of the stage, and then they stand pretty far behind those. Even though you're close, you'll wish you were just a bit closer. Ticketmaster always releases a handful of closer seats in the 2 weeks - to day of the show. If you think you might want to be closer, keep an eye open.

This is the view from around about 15 rows back at a Roger Waters concert last year:

Do they let you move up to the stage?

Depending on the venue security, you may make it up to the front. What to expect if you get up there? A subdued Stevie and a hamming it up Lindsey.

You should also expect people around you to be sitting, unfortunately, and getting perturbed if you want to stand.

I suspect if you are at a show where premium tickets are being sold or Mick's Meet & Greet tickets are sold, there is a very low probability of getting closer. Those people are paying a lot more for those show and the security will be tight. On the brighter side, many venues have jumsbo screens all around and the sound is much less distorted than it is right at the stage.

Wouldn't it be great if she had the energy she gave at the Tom Petty concerts of 2006?

Just the energy of her regular solo shows would be nice.

When I saw them in Ottawa in 2009 in was in the second row of the floor and I remember there was a long black gate that went across in front of the first row that stopped anyone from leaning against the stage. I know in Toronto the stage is so high up that you couldn't lean against the stage even if you wanted to. I saw Tom Petty from the second row in 2010 and I was straining my neck to see anything and to make matters worse my seat was left side near the aisle so all the stage equipment blocked our view of Benmont Tench on Piano and Keyboards.

Honestly, I think with FM Stevie worries about getting too much attention, and therefore possibly upsetting Lindsey.

I wish there was a "no standing/dancing" section so that both groups could enjoy the concert in their own way.

I hope that's not it. Shouldn't you worry more about stealing the spotlight as a guest on someone else's tour versus a band that you're a member of?

Well, I remember her referencing before in interviews that when she's in FM, she's a band member and she needs to tone it down, or something along those lines. I think she tones it down too much though.

Since they only share a few songs (Christine's and The Chain), there is no reason to tone anything down. They can both shine on their own songs. Lindsey does not expect to be the star of "Rhiannon" (and with the guitar solo out of the song there's no danger that he will be). While they both keep a low profile on some songs like Stevie on NGBA and Lindsey only playing rhythm to the side of the stage on SB, I don't buy the oft-repeated line that she is toning anything down on her own songs. Her lethargy may be due to depression. I hardly credit it to her attempt to let anyone shine. Although that's as good an excuse as any for her to throw out there when she is just not feeling it.
