Elle - thanks for posting this by the way! :)

Lindsey: "75% of your material is pre-ordained..."

Stevie: "He's in involved in a very girly world and that's very good for me."

Mick: "They were BN and that whole sensibility which is in truth sort of how it ended up... and I would love to think that we come up with some kooky ideas...the atmosphere of Buckingham Nicks...some of the material for Buckingham Nicks II ended up being on the Fleetwood Mac white album, so I think a cheeky look at doing some of that -- I always imagine like in the old days they used to sing on one microphone like the Everly Brothers..."

I did not like that list of songs Lindsey gave that he thinks they must do. Sara? Gypsy? No thanks.

And I think they should retire Don't Stop, it's not the same without Christine.

same here - i hated it when i heard him listing Sara.

no Sara, Dreams, Rhiannon, Gypsy... please.

(yeah, that will happen! at least no Sara would be a good start.)

Acoustic Gypsy would be fine with me. Stevie could actually do without Gypsy. I think Lindsey likes it more than she does at this point. Michele

pleasepleaseplease no more Big Love, I'm So Afraid blech

Love love Sara but it's a bit too strained with Stevie's voice these days. And the music isn't the same without Christine on piano

Gypsy is my all-time favorite Fleetwood Mac song - one of my favorite songs EVER - and to hear it acoustic live would be a delight.

Sara is very moving live. I enjoy it. That said, I wouldn't be devastated if they dropped it.

Big Love may have gotten old to those of us who've been going to Lindsey's shows and hear it a lot, but it inevitably brings the house down. I can understand why he wouldn't want to drop such a showcase for his talent.

ISA, when it's done right, is Lindsey's most powerful song of the concert. I would HATE to see it go; I look forward to it eagerly. I would be VERY disappointed if it was never played.

GYOW and Dreams are signature songs. Of course they have to play them. We hardcore fans have to recognize the reality that your common fan would feel cheated if they didn't hear their favorites - and I understand that. If I go to a Eagles show and don't hear Take It Easy, I feel a little let down. The average Fleetwood Mac casual fans are paying big bucks and they want to hear the songs they love. The Mac doesn't have to play all their hits, but they'd better play their signature songs.

However, I hate how Lindsey does NGBA now. He slows it to a crawl and drains it of its energy musically, and he uses this whispery affected voice on a lot of it which I loathe almost as much as I adore his normal singing voice. Then, to top it all off, he does that thing where he holds a note a long time and waits for applause. Bringing the song to a screeching halt just to show off some breath control doesn't impress me. "Look at me! I can hold a note a long time!" Well, whoopdy-freaking-doo. It's a real pity because NGBA is a terrific song. If he played it like he did in the old days it would be killer, but he's turned it into something that's painful to watch and impossible for me to enjoy.

Rhiannon is another song which has lost its spirit. Is it too much to hope for that they might do Rhiannon uptempo and bring back Lindsey's guitar solo? I don't expect Stevie to go crazy like the old days, but I'm tired of the slowed arrangement. Plus, Lindsey's smoking guitar on the live versions was half of what made that song such a show-stopper. To remove it is to gut the song.

I'm not adverse to them dropping Stand Back because it's a solo song, but at least Stevie has energy during it.

I'm just praying that Silver Springs is vibrant and emotional this go-round like it was during SYW, and that Stevie doesn't do that weird thing where she stares over the heads of the audience while she sings the end like she did during Unleashed. That "staring into space" move comes across as emotional disconnect at a time when the song is supposed to be at its emotional climax, and it ruins the song. I'd rather they not perform it at all than witness that kind of emotionless delivery again, and that's saying something, because Silver Springs is another favorite of mine.

My current plan is to buy tickets for two shows, then wait and see if the show is good enough for me to go to more. Unleashed wasn't, but I have higher hopes for this go-round.

I will spend big bucks on tickets for this show as long as
I get one or two decent surprises. Blue Letter and Sisters of the Moon would definitely be a dealbreaker!

why controversial?

if the only way i can see LB live next year is to pay these ridiculous prices and see him with the Mac, than i would like to at least see:

some of the warmth and famous chemistry live between LB and SN that everybody talks about.
close to 3 hr show (just 21 songs they are talking about and preordained bs? you can do better FM! i complained about hearing just 13 LB songs during OMS, now i will have less than 10 of his songs for all that money next year?).

But I am not sure you CAN see it. I mean what I would see in Sara would leave you impassive, I suspect. It is not really an objective thing. Michele

true... i'm thinking of very visible interactions i guess? i liked Landslide, SYW, and Tusk interactions on LiB (even though many complained about the tusk dance). i disliked Sara interaction on UL.

oh and moving on from interactions: monkey dance before the Stand Back on LiB? priceless! same with guitar humping on GDW  :p

Oh I was only half joking about it being "controversial" because of the way he seemed to word things: "Some of the material for Buckingham Nicks II ended up being on the Fleetwood Mac white album, so I think a cheeky look at doing some of that -- I always imagine like in the old days they used to sing on one microphone like the Everly Brothers."
I just know not everyone is as into their BN material. The "cheeky look at doing some that" could mean to me maybe Frozen Love? Eh eh eh? Please, pretty please?! :xoxo:
But obviously he could just mean what you were speaking to earlier, e.g. the Tusk dance, etc.

You know the whole 75 percent is predetermined rhetoric has gone from a little annoying to me to just plain pathetic. They just sound stupid saying this stuff. They act like they are contractually obligated to play certain songs. And that contract is 17 songs long. It's as simple as looking at those 17 songs and removing 3 and bam now you have 9 to 10 songs to play with instead of 5 or 6. Well be thrilled and casual fans aren't going to notice the missing 3. I'm most mad at them acting like it isn't even a choice then anything else. And Lindsey is way worse then Stevie in this aspect.

I think its a joke that 'they' can't play different songs from there long list of songs (catalog) its funny how they throw the 'obligated' card out because 'they' don't want to try something 'new' and different I just will never understand it. To me IMO 'they' can play whatever 'they' want but the facts are they want to play what is safe & usual. Same with Stevie solo she's afraid to try new & different things. You as the artist can play whatever you want to. But they don't feel that way they feel certian songs should 'always' be there. Its so sad yes maybe 'some' but they really could try new things. I guess thats why I won't pay any $$ for seeing any concerts because of this. I don't care for the live concerts anymore besides the prices. Its sad really not interested period. IMO anyway, no offence. It is what it is.:nod:

Gypsy, Sara yes please but NO to dreams, ngba, stand back, gyow landslide and big love thank you

It's the endless debate. We the fans are tired of those songs in concerts, but the common mortals would be disappointed if she doesn't sing Dreams, or Lindsey plays GYOW.

When Paul came to Peru for the very first and only time, he of course played Yesterday. I think the whole stadium would have been disappointed if he didn't. But sure the die hard fans who have been in several tours are tired of that song and wish to hear a never played live song.

She will sing Dreams, I'm sure. Not that I wish it, but she will.
