Stevie updates via Twitter & Dave once again. Dave tweeted in response to a fan yesterday when asked if he had plans to be working with Stevie again - His answer: Yes, Tomorrow!
Working on "amazing song of hers"

So we already know Lindsey's been working on some new songs with Mick... and now Stevie's working with Dave again. I wish Stevie and Lindsey could find a way to come together for another Mac album. The fact Stevie's collaborating with Dave again is evidence to me she's still interested in being a recording artist. I so badly want new Mac material... I loved Seeds We Sow & In Your Dreams, but it's been almost 1o years since Say You Will. I miss my band!!

This is great news that Stevie is feeling creative & still interested in recording. Obviously Stevie is laying down recordings or demos for some possible future project. The million dollar question is are they intending these for Fleetwood Mac or another Stevie solo project down the road. Either way it is a fantastic and encouraging development.

Using conventional logic one would probably presume that Stevie & Dave are working on songs for the potential FM EP which Mick alluded to a couple months ago mentioning he and the other boys already laid some tracks down. However, there is nothing conventional or predictable regarding Fleetwood Mac, coupled with hearsay that Dave allegedly replied to some fan on Twitter several months ago that Stevie was definitely working on a new album:shrug:.
Stevie could simply be using her downtime to have tracks laid down for another solo album to be released soon after she wraps up touring with The Mac. Post production work can be done while she on the road funding the record & her burgeoning bank accts from her FM 2013 haul. As best we know, Stevie is the only one currently signed to a major label, and I believe contractually she has at the very least one more record to deliver to WB/Reprise.
One thing is for sure the next 1-3 years are going to be very interesting for Stevie & Fleetwood Mac, as they all will probably wind down & transition out of touring and recording full time.

after just experiencing bunch of dates on Lindsey's solo tour, with all the energy he emits, stellar reviews, all these different off-the-wall requests he started fulfilling lately, and experiencing how much he and the audience seem to be enjoying all of it, i can't see LB winding down any time soon.

Agreed... I just saw Lindsey a couple of weeks ago & he definitely doesn't seem to be ready for retirement. Stevie seems to be relishing her solo career more than ever as well. Mick & John will probably always be game to play live. It's getting everyone on the same page to tour as a band or record as a band that seems to be mission impossible. I have no doubt there will be more Mac tours. It's likelihood of a Mac album that's tricky to gauge.
For what it's worth, I don't see an EP happening (though I hugely dig the idea). The two writers just have too much material, and they'll end up going for a full album if they start out with the intention recording an EP. I'm totally fine with this scenario. I just really love Fleetwood Mac, and want to hear more from them than another rehashing of Rumours.

Maybe she is going to re-release a Deluxe (again) version of IN YOUR DREAMS which will include the documentary. Something about this whole thing says documentary.......
But, as much as she loves IN YOUR DREAMS, I could see her re-releasing it with 1 or 2 bonus songs......and the documentary. ( This would be perfect to release around Christmas time......when she would sell more cd's)
Everyone else is doing it, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Beyonce.....etc, etc. It seems to be what alot of artist are doing..............although Nicki and Katy pretty much gave us a whole new album with their re-releases....

I LOVE this idea but my hunch is our sweet stevie is putting together several songs for a FM album...she is running the show now and I can see her holding her ground and getting Dave as her producer and letting Lindsey do his own "masterbation" (sorry) and produce his own stuff. I would really like it if Dave Stewart produced part of it. I think FM should use multiple producers....the way Stevie did in the 80's, and her albums still came together. Even Trouble in Shangri-La came out beautiful and cohesive even though she used different producers.
If I could have my wish....I would love to see what kind of magic Ken Caillat & Keith Olsen could do with Stevie and Lindsey....now that they are all older. I miss that warm creamy sound Fleetwood Mac was known for....and those two really helped make that sound.
Say You Will was a good CD, but could have been better if it was produced and mixed better (and maybe brought down to 12 tracks)........but, it is a very cold & choppy album.....there are some great moments on there, but....it was pretty much an attempt to make "TUSK" #2 (In my opinion)........and it didn't come out the way it could have.

That's exactly what I was thinking!
Perhaps she is working with Dave on songs she plans to present to Fleetwood Mac for a future album. If that might be the case, I hope that Lindsey is so impressed with the work that Dave get involved as a co-producer.

This.
At this point I don't care if these new recordings are songs for FM or for a deluxe version of IYD w/ Doc or even another solo album in the future.
One could argue that both Stevie & Lindsey would get a bigger audience for their songs under the FM umbrella, but I'm weary about the complexities attached with getting a new Mac record (or EP) off the ground in a congenial & expedient manner. In a mere 7 months they are planning on being back on the road if all goes as planned. I know anything is possible, but these members of FM have only been able to put out material that quickly once before with their self titled debut of the BN Mac in 75'.

I don't think you could get Richard Dashut anywhere near Fleetwood Mac ever again anyway. It sounds like Fleetwood Mac has thoroughly shut him out, and he's completely & utterly disenchanted with them.
I bet Ken Caillat could be convinced, though. I have to say, I think he's done a fantastic job producing his daughter Colbie's albums. They very much remind me of the early Rumours era Mac albums. They're breezy, beautifully & simply crafted, and have plenty of "air" in the tracks (vs some producers who go for a busier, fuller sound). I think he certainly still has the capability to help Fleetwood Mac craft another gorgeous, cohesive album. He's not just a has-been producer, he's still producing beautiful, relevant music.
As far as Dave Stewart goes, I really adore what he helped Stevie create with In Your Dreams. That being said, I just can't see how that would transfer to the Mac. Just in the same way that Jimmy Iovine was an iconic producer for Stevie, I'm not sure he would have been a good choice for the Mac back in that era. I think Fleetwood Mac commands a different type of producer than Stevie's solo albums, and vice versa. Since Stevie is not a musician, and she doesn't have a studio band per se, she requires a producer who is willing and able to really get their hands dirty, make some big decisions, and truly help shape the album's musical direction. Because Fleetwood Mac is a fully fleshed out band, I don't think someone as holistic as Dave would last for very long with a Fleetwood Mac project. I'd have to wonder if Dave would even be interested in such a thing. Fleetwood Mac is a daunting group of people to work with. Dave wouldn't be able to flex his creative muscle to the degree he did with Stevie's album, for instance. If you look at his history as a producer, he tends to be pretty heavy handed, and that just doesn't work well for Fleetwood Mac (Behind The Mask, anyone?).
My choice for a producer for Fleetwood Mac would either be 1) Ken Caillat or 2) An edgy Indie producer.

Where did you get that? Pillars of Color comes from a line in Trouble in Shangri-la (and it brings up the wind and it rises around you in pillars of color), but we know Stevie is known for reusing her lyrics, so it is completely fathomable that she would write a song titled as such. Before In Your Dreams was released, there was talk of Stevie recording songs at a studio for IYD and three titles sparked some interest. The first being "New Orleans" because most people thought this debunked the source since Stevie surely would not name her song about New Orleans simply "New Orleans" but as we see now, she did. The second song was "My Heart" which was another reason people discredited the source, because we all know that song was recorded for TISL, but to our surprise, an brand new version of My Heart was released on the deluxe edition of IYD. The third song was claimed to be titled "Shadow of my Shadow" which is also a line from another song of her's, Straight Back. However, nothing has surfaced on Shadow of my Shadow. So who knows! But I know somebody out there must have some information!

Ooh this is very exciting, so I guess there are 4 possibilities?
- additional recordings for IYD re-release (or doc)

I think he actually said "her amazing songs." Those amazing songs from In Your Dreams would certainly be on the documentary that they're likely still tweaking for it's film festival debut a month from now.
It's my deepest wish that she's laying down brand new demos/songs... but she seems very reticent to let In Your Dreams die. Plus, IYD was just released last year. If she's already working on new material, she's doing so at a pace we haven't seen since the 1980s. I find that pretty hard to believe, given her track record the past two decades. In the past 20 years, we've gotten 3 solo records & 1 Fleetwood Mac album out of Stevie... that averages to an album of new material every 5 years. The odds are highly stacked against our favor for Stevie to be working on a new album already. I hope she proves her track record wrong, though.
