Cigarettes are one of the hardest things to give up .

I tried/started 15 years ago( patch, hypnosis, etc) and every once in awhile I would always crave one if i was upset/stressed or been drinking heavily , and six years ago I heard on NPR that cigarette smoking was linked to some depression according to Dutch Research , and Nicotine being a very powerful antidepressant and people looking to quit should seek the help of a Therapist , also because you are getting off an antidepressant ( of course Companies don't want that info out there)

I did , and with out the help of drugs I can say it help I do not reach fro a cigarette any more I actually detest the smell of it and wonder why I smoked to begin with .

But I guess the most important part was I wanted to! so to everyone who want to quit good luck you can if you really want to I know I did !

Glad to hear you beat your little demon. ;) I only smoked for a few years but it never hooked me, I suppose I was only doing it because other people were. I have a few friends that I've seen struggle with it, try to quit, and then go right back. In fact I only know one person in my life that's been successful at fully quitting. Well done, Olive.

no I was a heavy smoker for years and bought packs and cartons of cigarettes

When I chose to quit (try) 15 year ago and the mood /stress warranted a smoke I would mooch a cigarette( fully knowing if I bought a pack I would go right back to it ) now and then fooling myself that i had quit

11 years into this , I went out and bought a pack ,was probably going to start , when I heard the story on NPR about the ( I said Dutch) sorry it was Danish research on smoking , depression , and nicotine being a powerful antidepressant, figuring I had nothing to lose I called a therapist (6 years ago ) to help me and I am now complete free of cigarettes 5 year 10 months and 85 pound lighter too!

I lost my hair when I quit smoking. But it was worth it.

I've smoked for decades - eeek gawd, that's hard to say.... - however, due to my job, I'm in hotels and airports most of the time - so, I started vaping. The only side effect I've had , was to quit smoking. At the last several LB shows, I have vaped... Letting the blue glow of my pv shine... However, I do stealth vape and hold in the vapor, so there isn't any thing to blow out.... Though I did notice LB checking out "what's that blue light?" Isn't that weird? haha

But congrates! to you that you have quit smoking! As an ex-smoker, breathing is such a delight.....

If you would ask anyone who knows me, they would say that I would not ever be able to quite smoking. At one time, I was up to 3 packs a day. I have had nicotine in my body since I was 11.

I QUIT SMOKING. Come November it will be a year. YOU CAN DO IT! IF I CAN DO, SO CAN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I used Chantrix and Nicotine Gum and they worked.)

I also quit smoking by switching to vaping, it's been about 18 months now. I had hoped to ween myself off nicotine completely, and I have cut it down a lot, but I really enjoy vaping. Some of the flavors out there are insanely delicious, I actually pair them with wine, or whatever I'm drinking. I don't have the blue light on the end one, mine's got a button in the middle of the rechargeable battery part, it does light up when pressed, but it's easy to hide.
