View Full Version : Random Stevie Psuedonym Questions?

So on facebook a friend and I were discussing Stevie's love for Psuedos. We know the meaning of Lily Chanel (Robin, the Julia movie, all that...), and Sara Anderson is obviously because of Sara being her favorite name (with the song and Sara Fleetwood/Recor,) and her 'married' name. (Also interesting she has said many times if she had a daughter it would be named either Lillian or Sara)
But my favorite Stevie Psuedo is Katherine Delongpre (Kat/Kay), who was apparently a redheaded older lady Stevie alter-ego with a lot of bling. And she checked into some hotels under that name, and there's her letters calling Mick a cheap ass and signing them 'Katherine Delongpre'. And then of course there's the classic Mick tapes I love, with the limo fight where he accuses her of dressing up as Kay and going down to the lobby for pictures with a red wig. And she starts going off about Kay Delongpre, fading away, something about bracelets and younger men.
Anyway we were wondering if anybody knows the story or has any theories as to where the hell Katherine Delongpre's name/persona came from (IF there's any reason, and it's not just something weird Stevie came up with in her head. We all know her. Lol). Random question, I know. But hey, we figured if anybody knew, they'd be on here. ;)

Yes, Katherine Delongpre was a real person - a missionary to France. Very interesting. Google her. :)

I saw that when I originally started googling the name a while ago. Except she spelled it with a C. I'm curious though as to how she was connected to Stevie, and if she was a missionary, where did the redheaded cougar with rhinestones persona come from? Haha. Thanks for the response :)

A saint as a redheaded cougar...funny stuff. I'm sure it was a big inside joke and they all probably teased Stevie relentlessly - especially if she was taking something too seriously.

The connection? Maybe Stevie was reading a book about her or maybe she just liked the name or maybe she felt a kinship with Quebec... with Stevie, who knows!

I bet they got really creative with their road names though.. Lindsey used Marshall Highwatt in the BN tour. ;)

Oh yeah, I remember a thread about it a while ago. And Lori was 'Holly Davidson' or something, and somebody was 'Willie Survive'?
And i'm sure they did tease her! Just the way Mick says "He said you asked him to come down and escot 'KAY DELONGPRE'!" And she starts describing Kay and her jewelry and rhinestones, and Mick is going "Here she goes again...."
Hahaha.

Likely I'm about to ask a stupid question here, but is this any reason as to why SN has the lines from WTTRS "Ooh, missionary. Well, I will be different when I get back and you can take all of the credit."???

And I was a little off on my history there- I think she was from France and a missionary to Quebec. Good question about the lyric though. Could be. Also makes me think of "Christian" and "Joan of Arc". The martyr symbolism is intriguing.

I always figured that it was some name that Stevie pulled out of a novel or something.
