Hi guys

Since I was at karaoke the other night, I thought this might be a fun thread!

If you're doing karaoke, or something similar. what's your favourite song to do? I have tried Mac/Stevie stuff but man, some of them are so difficult! Now obviously I'll just belt anything out in the private rooms with only friends and beer but if I like to actually sing I have to be careful! I have an ok voice but I know what I can and can't do!

I personally do a mean Honky Tonk Women (Rolling Stones)! So much fun!

So what's everyone else's choice?

Stand Back. So much fun!

The question is, do you stick to the studio version or do you go into full on Stevie-live performance..."wellllllllllllll, take it allllllllllllll!" and so on? Because I find it hard even if I'm just singing along in the car by myself to not divert into live versions!

I've done a full song, what seemed like an hour long, performance of Piano Man that sounded good to me....but I was many drinks in, so I truly hope that one was never recorded!

I did Stand Back last time and Hell YEAH, it's a lot of fun to do! I was very drunk and di the "read between my lines" action too. It's not one I can sing well as such though, even though I know all the words but I have a lot of fun with it!

Ahhh... Piano Man. That reminds me of doing karaoke for a mate's stag (bachelor) party... 5 great drunken friends shouting that damn song SO loud and kicking what we were certain was some serious ASS! It's a great tune.

I also do a mean Mr Jones (Counting Crows). Brilliant!

Oh, I put a lot of the live ad-libs in there and I bend back like Stevie does in the video during the "like a willow, I can bend" part. I love getting dramatic during the "why don't you just take me home!" part.

I love going to see karaoke - but I don't sing. Ever. Oh, the horror!

I only do it in the private rooms with a group of friends. Then it's fun!

I've been singing karaoke for years. I go to a place that has a fantastic sound system and selection. And many very good singers.
Here's some of my regular tunes that I do quite well "if I do say so myself."

Billy Squier - The Stroke
Stevie - Edge of 17
Concrete Blonde - Joey
FM - Go Your Own Way
Maroon 5 - This Love
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
Daughtry - It's Not Over

Thanks for this thread!

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

Ooohh Rebel Yell. Good choice. I may try that one sometime.. it just means I'd end up shouting the chorus though!

Blondie - Heart of Glass.

Only because I only do karaoke when I'm drunk, and when I'm drunk I think I can sing high notes.
