After listening to Stevie and Lindsey write about each other all these years, it just cracks me up that he's having this reaction! I guess I'm just conditioned to the philosophy that this is exactly WHAT you do write songs about! ...



Musicians Taylor Swift and John Mayer didn't date long (see photos of them together), but the relationship was enough to inspire Swift to write this song, widely considered to be about Mayer — a tune that Mayer now says "humiliated" him (about whom did Mayer supposedly write a breakup song?). Mayer criticized Swift's track as "cheap songwriting" in an interview with Rolling Stone and said she was "abusing (her) talent" (find the full interview).

This reminds me of the time one of my friends was in my dorm last semester and she kept pulling up Taylor Swift videos and ooh-ing and aah-ing over how she wrote this song directed at John Mayer, and this one directed at Joe Jonas, and then so-and-so wrote this song back at her....

And I was just rolling my eyes like 'You don't even know.'
