I am spreading this around to educate everyone that I possible can about this rare and extremely life threatening disease called Hereditary Angioedema. May 16, 2012 will be the first-ever HAE Day – a global event to raise awareness of Hereditary Angioedema. This disease is extremely rarely and almost always MIS-DIAGNOSED! To quickly explain, it looks and feels like you’re having an allergic reaction, like a food or seasonal allergy, however you’re not allergic to anything. I was diagnosed with this condition last September and it has changed my life a great deal. Over the Christmas break, I was hospitalized because my face swelled and my throat was closing shut. I believe that everyone needs to know about HAE so more people can be treated and more lives can be saved.
