Just heard on CNN that Stevie is on the guest list for the big Obama fundraiser that George Clooney is hosting at his home tonight.

Soooo unfortunately this means she probably won't be making a surprise appearance at NOTS tomorrow night, as I figure she'd already be in NYC by now.

Her key will be useless as Mr C changed the door locks.Hehehe, Her garage door key might work.Me friend is a real estate agent. He said some of the new owners forget to change the garage door lock or the remote opener codes.

Obama needs all the help he can get.My opinion is I'm not happy what is going on in this country now but the Rep party runners are not to pleasing to vote for.We need an indie party to run.

Did you miss your invitation to George Clooney's party in Studio City when President Obama is arriving? Or maybe you just didn't have $40,000 in spare change laying around for a ticket.

So you're not one of the lucky 150 going to the party Thursday night, but above is the video of Clooney's house, and the best photos of Clooney in his Fryman Canyon home that Patch can find.

See the detailed video of a tour of his house above, and some secrets about his house.

Also check out this video of the house, CLICK HERE.

Here are some trivia items about his house too.

* There are multiple bars throughout the house.

* The house is 7,354-square-feet.

* Stevie Nicks used to live there during her Fleetwood Mac days.

* He has a mini theater and an authentic popcorn machine.

* The house abuts Fryman Canyon from Wilacre Park, one of the most hiked trails in Los Angeles.

* It is on 3.16 acres.

* The front of his refrigerator is glass.

* Clooney paid $2,827,500.

* Clooney bought the house in 1995, but lived in Studio City at a different address in the hills for year before that.

* It's not accessible to the street very easily because of a large gate out front, which prevents nosy neighbors and photographers.

* He and his famous friends play basketball there a lot. Will Obama shoot some hoops?

* He lives at the house with his girlfriend Stacey Keibler and rescue Cocker Spaniel dog Einstein.

* He used to have two potbellied pigs there, had a permit to have them, and they both lived long lives on the property.

* Says Clooney about his house: "A house is a place that you would live in, but a home is a place where your family and friends are a part of."

I don't think Stevie went. I think her name just came up in relation to the house, so that may have confused someone into thinking she was in attendance.

I think it's great to support a candidate, any candidate, you believe in and $40,000 is worth it, if you have it to spend. It's just for some reason it didn't seem to me like the kind of thing Stevie would do. Seems out of character. I don't think she's frugal. I just can't imagine her spending that large a sum of money in that manner.

I feel the same way.

(p.s. registered Independent here)

I am sick of the high paid actors too that act like they are saints, wanting to help the poor and rooting for the working class. I read an article about things that will be obsolete in like 10-20 years and movie theaters were on the list. Because of the ease of movies on demand, but also because people are having trouble affording to go to the movies. How sad is that? And why is it so expensive? Because the movie costs so much to make, because they pay the actors 10 million, the directors and producers take a big chunk. So the cost comes down to us. So someone can make millions for less than a year's worth of work. But then these over-paid celebrities jump on the "spread the wealth" band wagon. Maybe settle for 1 million to make a movie so we can keep movie theaters alive. Can you imagine? Wouldn't you all be quite happy, thrilled, excited and satisfied beyond belief to make a million in less than a year? And let people afford going to the movies to support your craft, your passion, your career. If people can no longer afford it, your job goes bye bye. I don't understand how movies will make all their money if movie theaters become extinct. I am really surprised they are doing so well in this economy.

Macfanforever

Yes she goes to these Grammy's, The R & R Hall of Fame inductions and every year she gets stiffed by them coming out empty handed. Why bother going.I do agree on spread your wealth.I dont feel sorry about movie/music pirates screwing the industry except for the small people that make it happen for pennies.Spread the wealth stop hording the money.

I agree. She is listed as a contributor for numerous Democratic candidates even though she seems to choose to be apolitical publicly. As far as her comment on Letterman is concerned, I believe she was attempting to be humorous in suggesting that a younger candidate does not have enough experience to make the tough decisions required of the President, i.e. her comment about how she has trouble deciding which bus to travel in or something to that effect. She seems eager to do concerts in honor of Bill Clinton, whether with FM or solo. I doubt a Tea Party Republican would do that. I believe in one interview around the time FM did the first Clinton gig, they mentioned that John was the only real Republican in the group.

I do not think she was being humorous when she stated that on Letterman in 1994 she was serious and stated her opinion.Let's reexamine the Letterman comment. Clinton had been in office about a year and a half at that point, and had had a mix of successes and failures. But the failure of his health-care reform and the resonance of the Whitewater scandal were still strong. Plus, Clinton's party had recently lost control of Congress, and the Sunday-morning news shows were full of opinions that Clinton himself was in over his head as president.

Dave asked Stevie, in late summer 1994, what she thought of Clinton (after asking her about Fleetwood Mac's inaugural participation). She just said, "I think he's too young," and then qualified with an exaggerated but funny joke about his being her age, and she could barely remember which bus to get on, let alone fix major problems as the leader of the free world.

Stevie was essentially parroting the press meme that Clinton was a young guy who was being whipped about by the tempests in Congress and the White House. I think it would be very misguided to extrapolate from her comments that she voted Republican or right wing. Her parents—big business WASP Southwesterners—probably voted Repub. But Stevie herself has always been a Hollywood bohemian and a '60s hippie.

There is little doubt in my mind that her parents were almost certainly Republican.Stevie has given little indication that she might be as well though. On the other hand I think her bohemian and hippie personae was/is more style over substance. She was in the right place and time for it no doubt but compared to many of her peers she was by no means a political activist. She even warned Jackson Browne about participating in no nukes demonstrations while Bonnie Raitt was right there with him.She did not hesitate to voice her displeasure over Dixie Chick Natalie Maines anti- Bush and Iraqi war comments, of course some of that had to do with lost Landslide royalties.

Feeling bad for young people who were severely injured in combat is not a political view.

"Soldier's Angel" doesn't take a clear stand, as far as politics; liberals and conservatives could both easily argue that the song supports their side, because people often conflate having compassion and "supporting the troops" with political policy.

Clearly no parts that you hear. I'm not interested in debating Stevie's political views. The song told me a great deal about Stevie's position and the largest point I took away from the duet had nothing to do with her being a soldier's mother or wife, visiting the troops, dispensing ipods, sympathy or compassion. I don't see it as neutral or non-committal. You do. We have a different opinion. There's no need for either of us to enlighten the other.

"In a war of words between worlds
About what is wrong
About what is righteous"

These lyrics are the most telling part of the song regarding Stevies' position/opinion about these wars. Additionally, one can be of the Democratic, Republican or even Libertarian party and be for or against these wars - Party affiliation is not nessicarilay mutually exclusive to ones position on matters of war.
It's total conjecture to infer from Stevie's compassionate support of the troops & "Soldier's Angel" Stevies' political party leanings. Though IMO I think Stevie leans to the left, For the most part I believe Stevie to be party neutral and apolitical in general.

Well, the way it was presented was a real downer. The audience was still enjoying a concert high and then they stuck a knife in the momentum and brought everything to a screeching halt. When I saw them, even the band seemed uncomfortable standing there in the back, while Stevie made the speech about donations.

Well, I don't actually know if we have different opinions -- that's the whole point. I don't know what you're hearing in the song, and I would like to, because I don't hear a political stance. Is it really that out of bounds to want to ask about someone's interpretation of a Stevie song on a Stevie forum?

You do know. You see no political stance and I do. That's the difference of opinion. As far as discussing song interpretations on a Stevie board, sure Soldier's Angel has been discussed and dissected at length in this forum, right on down to the mmmmmmm -- which I find to be delicious.

Yep and it was John McVie who was the big Greenpeace advocate in the band.I remember scattered boos in the audience at the BTM SDSU show in ultra-conservative San Diego when the subject was broached.

Ok thanks.Now I remember.

Well, we can agree on that.

Ok. back to the topic.I can't picture Stevie getting into politics like these other entertainers Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood,Sonny Bono,Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura did. The list goes on..I know she won't take any crap from these other politicians with their baloney.I'm glad she don't talk and say crap about the ones in office like other artists did. That hard to do.She must of bite her tongue many times in interviews.

Anyone familiar with (the late) Senator Goldwater from Arizona? He was a five term senator, precedding John McCain. He once ran for president of the USA, against Lyndon B. Johnson. (1964) At that time (pre Ronald Reagan, before a linking the Jerry Falwells, & the severe religious right conservatives, etc), the GOP party might be a party that Stevie's parents belonged to, and perhaps something Stevie might have belonged to at one time.

The Arizona govenor was fiscally conservative, clearly more socially liberal than many "prominent" (loud?) members of the GOP party seem to be today. He was seen as a "hawk" in terms of the military support, yet Goldwater viewed abortion (and other issues) as a matter of personal choice, not intended for government intervention. That "hawkish" Goldwater attitude might be what the Fritz people met when visiting at the Nicks door.

There's a few websites that have some Goldwater quotes- here's a couple:

If everybody in this town connected with politics had to leave town because of chasing women and drinking, you would have no government.

I think every good Christian ought to kick Falwell right in the ass.

You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight.

-----------
He died in 1987. Anyhow, at this time, and for years apparently, Stevie's money has been backing Democratic candidates according to several websites. No one here probably knows what "card" she registered with 40 plus years ago.

You might enjoy this--especially the comments about the poodle:

The celebrity neighbors to this house abutting the Fryman Canyon hiking trails include Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, Julie Bowen the mom in “Modern Family” and many others. The 7,300-square-foot house on 3 1/2-acres has multiple bars in the house and was built by Stevie Nicks during her Fleetwood Mac days. Clooney bought the house for
$2,827,500 in 1995.
