It looks like Jones Beach 6/29 is our first show this tour? Can someone volunteer to post the set list?
Let's post some ideas for Stevie to change it up!
Open with Talk to me?
Add Enchanted?
Keep all of the In Your Dreams songs?
Keep Leather and Lace?

her set from last summer would be fine with me, since i haven't gotten to see any of the IYD songs. I wish she'd keep Landslide out like she did at the wiltern That and Leather Lace gone for any 2 other songs would be perfect.

Let's post some ideas for Stevie to change it up!
Whole Lotta Trouble
Love Changes
Kind Of Woman
Sable On Blond
Nothing Ever Changes
I Sing For The Things
Rose Garden
I Still Miss Someone(Blue Eyes)
From In Your Dreams:
Secret Love
In Your Dreams
Wide Sargasso Sea
Annabel Lee
Add Enchanted?
Enchanted is great live and is definitely a song I think Stevie should include more in her set.

I know its probably will be annoying to her band .But she should mix up the set list order for each show. She probably knows fans like us that follow her around the country to see her.

The current (mid to late 2011) setlist is fine - but I'd switch in a few alternate In Your Dreams tracks such as Italian Summer. I'm really hoping Stevie spends Nov/Dec in Australia again

I'm more curious to see what she'll do for the dates with Rod. I'd love for her to continue featuring the new IYD songs, but I'm afraid she'll switch back to her "greatest hits" set. Snore.

Since Stevie intention was to continue to promote IYD in 2012, I can see either her keeping the set list pretty similar to last year's with maybe one or two switches. But on her Rod dates I'm confident she'll mostly do a greatest hits set with maybe 2 IYD songs - Secret Love & maybe FWIW
I'd love her to add the song "In Your Dreams" into the set. She performed it at the Wiltern & opening night at Red Rocks last year and it sounded great, then it was dropped into oblivion the rest of the tour. "Wide Sargasso Sea" would be another good slow burning dramatic addition. Hell, I would pay to see her perform just the complete IYD record and be completely content!

Hell yea. She could just leave out Cheaper than free and Everybody Loves You since they rely heavily on Dave Stewart. She could open with Stand Back do all of IYD minus Italian Summer then Edge of 17 and Italian Summer as the closer. That's a 13 song set. either Dreams or Rhiannon for the 14th Hell if she's feeling adventerous she could do both for the sometimes 15 song Stevie set of late.

I wonder if Steve Real will do L&L with Stevie again this year on her solo run.Rod probably will do it with Stevie when they tour.
Also I wonder If Dave will pop up on her solo shows. Then she can do Cheaper then Free and
Everybody Loves You .
Also I would not mind if she dumps the cover tunes. And Add some classics.

Yes PLEASE , Stevie dump the covers! Leave room for IYD and some treasures from your huge catalog of songs.

Stevie did drop all of her covers, did she not? And I am sure her solo setlist will be basically the exact same as last year with maybe one change and her set with Rod will probably be the same as the one she did last year too, except she will probably drop Sorcerer and Fall From Grace and add FWIW and Moonlight.

I think it will probably be the same set as last year-
my wish is that she would open with Rooms On Fire and move Stand Back like after Landslide -I Like to wait for Stand Back ! Also put "In Your Dreams" back !!!
in my WILDIEST DREAMS -I Cant Wait , Blue Denim , Talk To Me and Sara
would be in the set too but I "know" it will never happen !! :]

I agree that Stevie will do the same set from her solo tour last year and pretty much the same rod Stewart set (I have a hunch she will throw in FWIW) but I don't understand why she doesn't throw in Talk To Me. It was a decent hit for her She can easily sing it and more casual fans will enjoy it over Fall From Grace.

I have followed Stevie since the beginning and Talk to Me live has never gotten a fair shake Her vocal abilities during Rock a little were raw at best and I would love to see what Stevie could do with it live in a more coherent state:thumbsup:

I don't know; Talk To Me is a very hard song to sing; lots of "reaching".
Plus, I remember reading that Waddy suggested opening with Talk To Me on one tour (it may have been the TISL tour, I'm not sure), and she shot it down. I may have read that in Waddy's Q&A, I'm not sure. Also, they'd have to figure out somehow to accommodate the sax parts, since her current band doesn't have a horn player of any kind. I guess they could use a synth or make it a guitar part.

I would rather a medley of her FMac songs that she never drops... A concise 8-10 minute medley of Dreams/Rhiannon/GDW/Landslide would free up about 20 minutes of set time for other stuff.
Diana Ross does this with her Supremes tunes in her set and it works out wonderfully. Old timers get a taste of the hits and there is more time for other stuff.

I know we won't see these happen, but I'd love to see:
- A new concert intro, using a video remix/montage using both new clips and her videos. It should end with "I Can't Wait." Then, the show launches into "Stand Back". (This way, the songs we'll never see performed anymore can still be part of the show.)
- Add "Long Way to Go" in any arrangment.
- Give "Rhiannon" a refresh by performing the B/N'sh arrangement performed on the RAL tour.
- Add "Italian Summer", in any arrangement.
In the current set list:
- Don't change "Gold Dust Woman" - she's perfect as-is.
- Keep "Leather and Lace".
- Keep "Moonlight".

this is possibly a real option since she "had to learn it " since she is only doing a few shows and then a greatest hit tour with rod .
i would imagine she will do a condensed version of last year the same old songs and a few from in your dreams ,16 songs were way too much and I'm sure 14 songs are just as taxing on her ,

I understand why people want to hear the hits - a lot of the times, I do too. Especially when it's your first time seeing someone, etc.
But I'd much rather hear Fleetwood Mac hits at a Fleetwood Mac show, personally. Stevie's band is great and all, but the songs don't sound the same at her solo shows obviously. So I'd be fine with her condensing those to just a little taster of them if she has to have them in there, and then adding more of her SOLO hits into the solo set. Additionally, switch out all the songs that aren't hits for other songs that aren't hits (although, this wasn't as much of a problem on the IYD tour, as she did toss out a bunch of songs and replace them with IYD tracks).
So yeah, do a Fleetwood Mac medley, and then add in I Can't Wait, Enchanted, Talk to Me, Rooms on Fire, After The Glitter Fades, Sable on Blond (<3), I Sing For The Things, Sleeping Angel, etc, etc. Stuff like that.
Replace Love Is with The Highwayman (I know, I know... but I love this song and it'd be a change!) or something.
Just my opinion obviously. That said, I'd see Stevie live even if she just sat up there playing F/G on the piano and sang Dreams, Outside The Rain, How Still My Love, and Sable on Blond over and over on a constant loop.

Amen to all of this. And--please add "If You Were My Love," (I know it's technically a FM song), "Italian Summer," (Went to Positano last year because of this song!), and I'd love to hear anything really from Bella Donna and The Wild Heart.

someone should take her to see MADONNA * then she can see and hear that it's is possible to do hits , alternative/remixed versions . b-side/unreleased songs an no one s gong to walk out .. then fire her brother/ advisers and put together the best show of her career ..
* or Loretta Lynn who takes request from the audience or Trisha Yearwood who take online request of songs to add to individual shows

Rooms On Fire charted only@ no. 16 (?) on the pop chart but I believe it went to no. 1 on the rock chart (or maybe its called album rock chart). And although that chart is not as substantial and won't get you as much exposure as the pop chart does, I think it gets you far more exposure than the AC or AAC charts that her singles have (briefly) appeared on in the last 15 years or so. I remember Long Way to Go getting considerable airplay on rock stations and making top 10 on the rock chart so it I was sure it would be the next single after Rooms On Fire. I was very surprised when 2 Kinds of Love was released as the 2nd single. It seemed like that just stopped OSOTM and any kind of momentum it had right in its tracks. Rooms wasnt top 10 pop, but it got played and was in heavy rotation on MTV for at least a short while. Long Way to Go could surely have made top 20 as well and helped make OSOTM seem more like a hit or helped more people remember it. After 2 kinds of love tanked ( I dont think that charted or got played anywhere) , Long Way to Go maybe couldve came back as a single but then along came Whole Lotta Trouble. I liked it, thought it was funky and different (so maybe it would stand out) for Stevie but by that point the whole album and any impact it might make was hopelessly lost. I dont think that song charted or got played anywhere either.
Whether you love or hate OSOTM, Im sure we all agree it could have made at least a little bigger splash than it did with better marketing/singles choices.

I really think its sad for us loyal fans that she doesn't really 'treat' us to a special set of music. Really other than the BD concert setlist the SA tour setlist was great & the Enchanted set list was great too. It had a good deserve list of songs. I mean I DO understand the comfort of doing the 'usual' hits etc. I just don't understand even for her own sake not changing things up for herself?? I'd get so tired of doing the exact same setlist night after night etc. She has a wonderful catalog of 'her' own SONGS to do thats why I don't understand the covers etc. Why she's afraid to sing her own songs. Even the lessner known ones---its really bothered me & really I'll not ever ever understand it. Considering how many yrs left she might tour its another missed boat really. It seems like more 'missed boats ' with her solo & for Fmac. Thats what bothers me. She could do one song from each solo LP/cd & than some. Its sad really. IMO anyway.

MOST artists mix up their sets night to night. Bruce Springsteen has like three or four sets that he rotates night after night. Billy Joel has a core set that he swaps out different songs night after night. In fact for one of his tours he let the crowd decide what the next song would be. He'd announce what the two or three choices were and based on the applause, he would do that song.
Most other artists have a set of say 25 songs that they pull from for a finished set of say 18 songs. Years ago I saw Martina McBride and she was about to do a song, but before it started she said "Hang on a minute" and turned and said something to her guitar player. She then said "We're supposed to do a song here that I just don't feel like singing it tonight, instead I want to do this one, it wasn't a hit or even a single, I just like it and it's my show so I'll do what I want!!!"
Stevie's rigidness to change comes from trying to do "Rumours" songs on stage in 1976 before the album had come out and the songs got a weak reception. What she fails to recall was that in 1976 people going to a Mac show were still wanting to hear "Oh Well", "The Green Manalishi", "Hypnotized" etc. They didn't want to have those dropped to hear something they didn't know. But that was then, this is now.
It's probably too late for Stevie to become spontanious on stage, but it would be nice. Instead her shows, as well as the Fleetwood Mac shows, are carbon copies night after night. The funny thing is Stevie says how great it is to get to perform something new. But no one is stopping her except her.

You're right, none of the other charts are as prestigious as
the Top 100 is for singles. That's why I didn't consider it a
hit. I do like the song though.
And her chart positions weren't helped by being an aging,
drugged up out of shape rock star at the time.
I'm somewhere in the middle of love and hate for OSOTM.
I like many of the songs but as I've mentioned in other threads,
I hate the way they recorded Stevie's voice. Whatever voice
processor or studio magic they used ruined Stevie's voice on
that record.

You made so many great points. Just think if in all of her solo shows she'd done tons of different songs even it not every night every couple of nights. I'll never understand why her & Mac just kept the shows the 'same' night after night--really that MUST have been boring as heck to perform that way--changing things is good--I do recall Stevie in an interview (sorry don't recall what interview it was/radio show I think?) where she stated that some songs are good on the record but NOT to be sung 'live' REALLY to me thats just wrong because if it was good enough to record it its good enough to sing it LIVE---it may not come off perfect but 'whom' says it has to be perfect note for note (which to me not necessary). Just think of all the great songs that we'll not ever hear live during those era's too. Sad very very sad.:shocked:

I was so disappointed during the dance tour...I had watched the incredible concert video about a million times and then later at the Dance concert live in Phoenix, Lindsey spoke word for word what he had said during the taping of the Dance concert...it felt staged and insincere. I was wondering "doesn't he know that we have all watched the famous video?" It was like he was reading a script.

I dont mind the idea of Stevie or any performer during a concert, night after night, repeating the inspiration of a song or a description of her mind set when writing a song...but Lindsey actually repeated what was suppose to be sentiment...it lacked sincerity... Ive seen the same with Celine Dion and Taylor Swift:shocked:

I think maybe there was a lot of nervousness associated with The Dance. No one was really sure where things were going; I seriously doubt any of them really knew at that point if the band was actually getting back together again or not. They hadn't toured together in what, 10 years? No one had even heard of Bill Clinton the last time they had toured together. And I personally suspect that behind-the-scenes emotions really were running very high - for real. The description of that fight in 1987 made it sound really really bad. No or very little contact in all that time. So I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to play it as safe as possible. Let's face it, at that point in time they needed a script 'cause they couldn't say what they were really thinkin'.

I was at the opening night of The dance tour in Hartford. I expected the set to be more or less the same, which it was, what I didnt expect was the between song banter to be EXACTLY the same. What was funny were the people next to me being totally amazed as I announced the next song before it was done. They asked me if I'd seen rehearsal or something, I said that they were just doing the new album.
As a side note, the biggest mistake with that tour was doing Oh Daddy right after Stand Back. SB blew the roof off the place and then you had to come WAY down for Oh Daddy. Oh Daddy works well on stage, but not after a roof burner.

FM never fixes what ain't broke. From 1977-forever, Oh Daddy always came right after Rhiannon.

I know it might be a pain in the a$$ for the band Stevie should mix up the setlist at every show to make it different. She knows fans like us follow her on the road. Her and the band know all the tunes in memory.I think it should be no problem.Ever show will be fresh instead of the same ole lineup every night which reminds me of a same old loop tape that plays the same tunes every 90minutes Like a 8 track tape.
I wish she would do a tour like the one Elvis Costello did a few years back. He called the show the "Spectacular Spinning Songbook." It was a large "Wheel of Fortune" like wheel turned upward on the stage. It contained about 50 songs. Elvis or an audience member would spin the wheel. The band would play whatever song the wheel landed on. I can only imagine how cool that would be at a Stevie show! Each show would be entirely unique ( and the audio recordings should be officially sold in as a legit "bootleg" series).

That was my experience in Phx, as well...I thought...uh? is he going to say the exact words that he spoke in the Dance video?? Lindsey even placed his hand on his chin during Landslide like he was getting emotional, like he did in the video...uuuggghhh Fortunately, half way through the concert they started throwing in some curve balls and finished with Farmers Daughter..which I loved!

I think they got that message, because after The Dance they started doing three rousing songs in a row as the high point of the night (i.e. Tusk, Stand Back and GYOW). Lindsey even followed that recipe in his solo set too, for awhile.

Hasn't Waddy also said how he has tried to get her to switch up the setlist during rehearsals and they are dropped just before the shows?

Maybe in Stevie's younger days but NOT now heck even than she didn't like change sad but so true. I wish for that 'bootleg' set too!! Offical that is--can dream can't I.:D
