I managed to sleep in and miss the bus. Because I am an idiot.

Also just accidentally paid nigh on £40 for the ABBA single, again, because I am an idiot.

Good Lord ..isn't that like 70 or 80 US dollars? And for a song that is just a demo for Like an Angel Passing Through My Room.I was thinking when they billed it as new song it would be something finished like You Owe Me One.

I can't say I ain't pretty and my legs are thin...

I waited in line yesterday for two hours hoping to get the Fleetwood Mac 180 gram release on vinyl but the 2 Stores I went to had sold out of their copies.. Also, wanted Miles Davis! Forever but no score..

So I went to the 3rd record store and found a copy of the original self titled fleetwood Mac vinyl - with the sunset label - and paid $40 bucks, with a smile on my face - for it. Dag it sounds so good on my turntable... Also bought a copy of Miles Davis live at Carnegie hall - 1961 - on vinyl...

So even though I didn't record day score with the self titled fm "aka white album" - acquiring a vinyl copy of the original fm lp - my fave Mac record - made the day.

I quoted oh well because imwent to my local pub to watch the caps hockey game and they were playing oh well when I walked in..

Now back to the caps games..overtime beer time..

I missed out on it this time around,But I picked up A box of albums for free last thursday on the way home from my accountants house. Most were classical music,40's music ,Opera, plus Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops all in clean condition and two pop albums which were Pink Floyds The Wall which was very clean condition plus John Denvers first greatest hits album .Which was clean too.So between Stevie/FM I can spin some classical movements.LOL.

Whoa! Nearly $65 U.S. smackers! Cool.

And you're not an idiot. I think of you now
more as a pistol packing mama. And you
can go snake hunting with me anytime.

Macfanforever,
Cool score on the box of free vinyl! And that's
an odd coincidence of the John Denver Greatest
Hits album. Why??? Because I jut got through playing
it!!! Every time I pull out my 12 string guitar it gets
played.

If it hadn't been blue glitter vinyl I wouldn't have bothered. But feck it, I had the money and I wanted it so I bought it out of some birthday money I had left over. And I passed on buying the Blondie release because it's nothing I haven't already got. Same with the white album.

I thought of you today when I found a vinyl shop in Wolverhampton that had big Abba and Blondie/Debbie Harry sections. There were so many. I'm sure you've got all the Blondie but I have never seen that many of their singles. For like £2 each too. I ended up getting some Madonna (the Madonna section was massive too) and some Cyndi Lauper. I also got a Patti Smith one from Liverpool the other day. I think it's my new favourite shop,

I was really hoping the recent Madonna vinyl reissues would make an appearance here in the States for Record Store Day, but no such luck.

Have they not been released at all? We got them here the day MDNA was released. I haven't got any yet though but i'm quite tempted. I picked up the Like a virgin LP the other week for 50p though.

I'm starting to get rather annoyed at this "the Internet is destroying music/books/film" meme. It's hard not to feel attacked as someone who prefers to purchase music & books in digital form.

Music/book stores were always a necessary evil for me. I did not like having to deal with being accosted by sales clerks and nosy patrons. More often than not, the music I wanted would not be in stock and I'd have to have the store order it. I remember explaining to one clerk when I went to pick up a CD I'd ordered that no, it wasn't a mistake; I really did order Back in Business by Eartha Kitt.

I do not like clutter in my home. I do not like having to find space for things like CDs or books. So I will continue to purchase books and music in digital format, and I resent the living hell out of people who stick their noses in the air and declare that *they* prefer to have something *physical* when *they* buy something (implying that I'm some kind of rube for not particularly caring about such things).

And then there are those (Stevie is, unfortunately, included here) who act like I'm helping to end their careers and put them in the poorhouse by my preference for digital. You're not going to make me any more apt to purchase physical media with that attitude. I'm more likely to stop buying your stuff at all and start actively hoping for your future career as a Wal-Mart door greeter.

I am SICK of IT!!

Dude! You're a bit of a wet blanket.
You seem to hate a great many things.
All who posted in this thread was just
excited about buying some vinyl records.
Chill out.
