Was Stevie diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

According to a website, Stevie was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 1987.

On VH1's Behind The Music, it was reported that she had the Epstein-Barr virus, which is associated with CFS.

By early 1988 Stevie Nicks was running out of steam. She was diagnosed with a chronic fatigue syndrome known as Ebsteinbar(sic) virus. After four months on the Tango in the Night Tour, her final few shows had to be canceled.

Mick Fleetwood talked about it a bit in an interview.

Mick: She had a battle with that for years as far as I remember. No one would understand, you can't be that tired. Well, your(sic) sleeping all the time, you know. Of course she's sleeping all the time, she's ill.

One would think that someone with such candour would have discussed this to the press at some point. Has Stevie actually confirmed having CFS?

The dates are very telling: her "chronic fatigue" started in 1987, and was never spoken of again after the mid 1990s. The reason why she's not spoken a word about chronic fatigue, Epstein Barr, leaking silicone breast implants, etc in 15+ years is because Klonopin was the cause of her symptoms. She was a drug addict in denial & was doing anything she could to deflect. Drug addicts come up with the wildest stories for their problems... trust me, I come from a family full of them.

I agree with above, I'll say that right away. Let me add my personal theory, doing a drug for 10+ years and then stopping probably makes you feel lousy and tired for a year or so. A lot of celebrities were getting Epstein Barr in the late 80's, and a lot of them stopped doing a lot of coke in the late 80's too.

Cher was also diagnosed with this ailment as well and as far as I know was never into drugs of any kind....(I think we call it depression nowadays.)

She once said she blamed her leaking implants for her Chronic Fatigue, but as Louie said, that was likely Klonopin induced.

According to a website, Stevie was diagnosed with CFS but there is no indication regarding the onset of symptoms, which she could have experienced for months or even years before the diagnosis.

How do you know? Stevie could have had chronic fatigue before she was prescribed Klonopin.

Let me add my personal theory, doing a drug for 10+ years and then stopping probably makes you feel lousy and tired for a year or so.

It could have been one of the reasons for using the drug(cocaine) in the first place.

A lot of celebrities were getting Epstein Barr in the late 80's, and a lot of them stopped doing a lot of coke in the late 80's too.
