I think it's a good idea to keep her solo dates separate from the Rod dates.

I kinda see his point, she going to do the same exact show. by the time she came to Boston last year she had already condensed it , and she is going to do a hit set with rod , why bother .
I agree about the Rod shows but I'd still much prefer to see her solo again with the IYD material then to pay big bucks to listen to her and Lindsey croak out Don't Stop and Say You Love Me.

Well this thread got derailed pretty quickly. I might just start a new thread which will *really* be dedicated to the Stevie solo tour dates.

Since the other thread got derailed...let's please keep this thread limited to only news about new solo dates, k?
We've got July 10, Boston.
Come on, Chicago!

Thank you! With the Rod Stewart dates....what does everyone think our chances are for seeing even a half dozen solo dates? I'd love to see her again this year, but only by herself.

Yes It just dawned on me .Today is St Pats day.I agree with the Live Nation/TM bullsheet. The seats were bouching everywhere.About 14 minutes into the sale I got 5th row on Waddy's side. The best I've ever got at the BOA-P.The last two Stevie shows I always got stuck up in mid section.

Yeah, she has played the Forum with the Mac and with Rod Stewart. I'm guessing it is 18,000 seats in there. Ask Gary??Amphitheater would be good, or something even smaller like Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater(probably dreamin on that one though).
There seems to be dates open after the Lauderdale show to fit a solo gig in. Lets Hope.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Boston vs. Detroit for a better concert experience? These are the two sites we're trying to decide between. Boston is further away but we've never been and want to go.... but Detroit would be a lot cheaper so it's a toss-up as of right now. :blob1:

Hey GoldDustGypsy,
I have to say I love the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston. It's right on the harbor so there is water behind the stage, and you can have a drink watching the sunset over the ocean before the show. It's my favorite place to see a concert.
If it's your first time visiting Boston, I would say this would be the perfect trip. I'm not sure what David means about no beer, I can assure you that is not the case. I got VIP tickets that have access to a private bar, but without VIP, there is pleanty of beer.

Thank you all for your feedback! I think that we've decided on....both. I think we're going to get really good seats in Boston and then like the CHEAPEST in Detroit. Neither one of us are really excited about seeing Rod so we figured we would just travel a little this summer and see Stevie solo.... maybe get Heart and Soul lawn tickets in Cincinnati which is only like an hour away.

You said it dude. Unfortunately, this venue SSSSUUUUCCCCKKKKKSSSS. The casino is nice, the rooms are gorgeous. But a word of warning - the rooms sell out FAST & they charge a high rate for non-members. Also, the venue itself is totally FLAT - no elevated seating. It's a multipurpose room so they put out basic padded/metal dining room chairs. It is pretty small & intimate, but if you're really far back you can't see sh*t.
I think this will sell out quick (small venue, probably lots of comped tickets, and the fact she hasn't been near our area in so long.) I am not sure I will try for great seats - I feel lucky that I've already been front row for a Stevie show once, and I've shaken her her hand several times. I may cheap out, just relax & enjoy the show.

Oh yes, it's basically identical. And I honestly do not know if security will let us up to the stage for the entire Stevie show like they did for LB. I assume it's up to Stevie's people & what kind of mood she's in that day. As for venue security there, I do remember that they eventually let people up to the stage for Heart a few years back. But this was after sending people back to their seats several times.
I'm glad she's playing a smaller/intimate place that's close to me, but it's just not a great venue at all. :(

It's probably a simple matter of supply and demand. Mohegan Sun Arena is huge and it's probably prohibitively difficult for many people to schlep all the way out there on a weeknight. I'm kind of on the fence about going myself... If tickets were $200, it would be much easier to say "no!"

They probably want the fans to use their extra money in the slots.Atlantic City shows are cheaper too.Places like Jones Beach and other regular venues are up to the $200 level. But some venues are still cheap too.

Stevie hasn't brought her solo show to Mohegan since 2008 and the second leg of the Crystal Visions tour. Her last solo stop was at Foxwoods in 2010 on the "Not A Tour" tour, thought for sure she'd be coming back to Foxwoods since she kept raving about the place throughout the show. Was really surprised she skipped CT last year after the Rod Stewart tour. I figure she did so because she and Rod were at Mohegan in March.
Glad she's coming back, just hope she still does the IYD set!!!!!
No Stevie this year. Since I haven't seen Lindsey solo, it's Lindsey's turn this year. I'm going to see him this summer.

I agree. I'm glad she likes coming to CT . I guess. I'm very Shocked. At the cheap ticket prices. She probably will sell out. Boston is a couple nights before. In some way .I had a good feeling she will come here.Plus the same with the the Atlantic City stop.
I wonder if she can slip in the Turning Stone or the SPAC in New York. So far she's dishing out alot of surprise stops on this tour on her own.I was only figuring a couple of solo shows before she hits the road with Rod on July 20th.

I can tell you about the Thackerville venue. I have NEVER been there but several of my friends saw Melissa Etheridge do an acoutistic show in 2009. They had to fly into Oklahoma City and get a ride from a friend. From what I understand it is in the middle of nowhere. From what I recall they enjoyed the show but did complain about venue security being really anal about stage rushing and taiking pictures and videos all of which Melissa doesn't mind. Mostly the has beens play there which begs the question as to why she is playing there. No offence but some of the acts I have seen listed on the bill are far below Stevie in terms of their popularity.

It's most likely going to be the same set as last years solo shows, the Rod shows will most likely be a more or less hits set. Or she may do the same IYD set for those as well. She doesnt usually mix things up much mid tour.

Hi Fairydust! :) I'm in Maine for the summer so the VA Beach show is out. Are you thinking about going to see here in VA Beach? I haven't checked the New England shows to see if they are sold out or not. I need to catch up in reading this thread. ;) My thinking was to take a quick road trip home and see Stevie, wasn't wild about the venue and so I didn't jump on it right away.
I missed the Bristow show, got to my friend's house in Nokesville and she had a change of plans, I wasn't keen on going solo, especially after dark by myself. I did get to see Lindsey though!

I just got tickets to the Va Beach show yesterday! We're going to leave straight from Boston, make a pit stop at the Mohegan Sun and end up at Va Beach. We call it our summer of Stevie
From what I can see the show is selling pretty well. There's still tons of seats left but the ones toward the front are gone and I'm sure the others will start to sell closer to the event. All of the vacationers are sure to jump on the opportunity when they find out Stevie is in town.

I was traveling across country in the summer of 1986 so I didn't get to see the New Haven show in July. In fact I never even knew about it until a few years ago when it was mentioned here on The Ledge.
You probably don't remember Opus cause you were out in the parking lot where you always are, socializing, when you are unaware of an opening act.
Unless you were a diehard fan of Chris Isaak, everyone felt his show was too long, except Stevie who obviously allowed it. Even though he has some good songs they all sorta sounded the same to me. Everyone had hoped Stevie would come out and sing something with him and that's the only reason we sat through his snooze fest.

I tend to think that most major rock bands want no names opening up for them. They don't want to be upstaged. Many of us have suggested Heart as an opening act for Stevie. While that would be great for us, Stevie would be blown away after a live performance from the Wilson sister's and co. left her in the dust!

I tend to think that most major rock bands want no names opening up for them. They don't want to be upstaged. Many of us have suggested Heart as an opening act for Stevie. While that would be great for us, Stevie would be blown away after a live performance from the Wilson sister's and co. left her in the dust!
I would love to see a Stevie and Heart tour double headliner I would think it would be neither should be an opening act they are all legends both deserve the same spot light. Double Headliner would be an awesome show. I would say something exactly like she did with Don Henley on the Two Voices/Gold Dust Tour in 2005.

Yes you are right.Or I got there late.

I like Heart. That will be a 3 1/2 to 4 hour show for equal time.A 7pm start will work and Stevie can't be dittle dattling like she normally does for 25 minutes after the start time. That 11pm curfew comes fast. The Stevie/Don combo was great.Anyway I'm glad she's alone this time around.

I was thinking the same thing. Hey, she's got to head back home herself. While the band is up and ready why not squeeze a few in on this coast, just to end things.

I saw Martina there a few years back. That was the show where at one point she told the band they weren't going to do the song that was next in the set because she didn't feel like signing it that night. Instead she said wanted to do a different song, one that was never a single or anything, but just an album track that she likes and doesn't do very much on stage because it wasn't a single or well known. She then gave the band a minute to get their charts (sheet music basically) ready and then she did a song called "From The Ashes". That show was one the few shows she's ever done the song on stage at.

Martina was a favorite of my late sister.I think she seen Martina live there before.Wow last minute changes in setlist.I don't recall if Stevie on stage making last minute changes like that.
It would sound like this. For example.
"Waddy. I don't want to sing "landslide" tonight. I want to sing "Sisters Of The Moon" instead".
She will give Waddy and the band to regroup while she goes and do a wardrobe change.

Well, I was going. I waited on hold for 25 minutes. Once I got through there was 1 seat in row 5 left stage or 2 seats in row 15. I told the operator I would just take the one seat. Then she started listing all the fees...$14. for this, $ for something else, and then 5 bucks additional to mail it and then the tax. I got a bit mad and said forget it...IDK it would be great to see her in that small venue but the price is a bit to high for me right now. Enjoy the show...
If I find a real deal on a "pit" seat I may make the drive up.
i've seen it on the internet for several days now, but don't see that anybody posted it here - you all know that St Augustine date was added and going on sale aug 15 -

I am just very disappointed as I would prefer a solo show or a Buckingham Nicks reunion to the Mac experience. Unless of course Christine McVie rejoined, which is not going to happen. I am keeping my fingers crossed something happens and Stevie Nicks takes pity on the West...

STEVIE NICKS and DON HENLEY To Perform Together Sept 14th in Vancouver
The evening prior to the Voices In The Park public performance September 15th, there is going to be a ‘backyard gourmet’ private event catered by chef David Hawksworth with an acoustic show by Stevie Nicks and the Eagles’ Don Henley.”
Sarah McLachlan called in a favour with Henley as she has played fundraisers for his Walden Woods Project to prevent the area around Walden Pond from being developed. More artists and information on the Voices in the Park performance will be coming in the next weeks, she says.
Voices In The Park is a live musical event being staged in Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC to raise money for Sarah McLachlan School of Music.
