JTIS...
Watched the making of "The Exorcist" with my husband last night and he exclaimed NUMEROUS times that Linda Blair looks like Stevie...which we've all heard before, but he was adamant about it like no one had ever made the connection before! Been there done that honey!

JTIS, why are Stevie's backing vocals always totally incredible? I listened to the Rumours-Tusk (not sure) demo of If You Ever Did Believe and last night I only just realised how incredible her background vocals are.
Agree...I always prefered her backup vs Sharon and Lori on the recordings.

I love the vocals she does with herself in No Questions Asked, especially when she sings "who gets the cold winds of it all" and on Greta at the very end, the last time she sings "I wonder what Greta would say". There's just something about those two moments that I really love.

Hi All .I just received my CD from Ebay that I won a week ago. It's Stevie Nicks Off The Record with Uncle Joe Benson .The 2007 interview which aired May 19-20 2007.
This is the original radio station copy.I ripped the cd at nice crisp clean 192kbps.Dumped the ad's.
Also include the DJ cuesheet. In the attachment section below.
Back then .I had post this show on here in which was a crummy internet webstream. This is an upgrade for those of you that still have the crummy one.Or don't have a copy.

Always wondered what Stevie would sound like with someone like Alison on songs such as this. To me the lyrics and singing are beautiful. And we all know Stevie can pull off some country if she wanted to.

Stevie is trying to sure up her solo career legacy, I mean if she doesn't do it now, when the hell will she be able to get it done. Well, with that particular combo of songs who did you think it might be who was dead?
I listen to a CBS news station, so when they played Sentimental Lady that was not a good omen. But there's this guy who gives business tips too and he often starts his little segment off with music which (he thinks) is related to his business topic. So, they could play GYOW and I might get all concerned, but it turns out that the guy was only giving advice on how to leave your job and go into business for yourself!

Viv.I agree I do get shaken sometimes when stations play a set of tunes from an artist and not commenting about anything about the artist. It leaves it open with a bad feeling if there is something bad happen to them.
I remember when John Denver got killed in the airplane crash back in 1997 .The local country station was playing a set of his hits without making comments until last minute saying he died in the plane crash. They never play John Denver songs on that station when he was alive .Alse they pulled the same with Conway Twitty,Dottie West
and Tammy Wynnette.

I usually listen to the news until they start repeating the same thing 20 times, then I listen to a podcast. But there's a billboard for one of the rock radio stations off the 405 freeway and it tells you what song is playing on the station as you are passing. When I go by and it says, "Now Playing ______________" and it's a FM song, I always switch my radio station to hear it.

Here's an amazing blog post from tumblr that was the capstone of a week's worth of posts dedicated to Stevie.
http://oneweekoneband.tumblr.com/post/34431214946/stevie-nicks-is-a-queen-a-witch-a-dragon-shes-in
I told you yesterday about this thing that happens, where men decide what’s cool, what’s smart, what’s better, and at the top of the list is them and the things they like, and at the bottom is young women, and the things young women want to talk about. And at the bottom is Stevie Nicks.
They brush her off the way women are always brushed off. Too emotional. Too dramatic. Talks too much about love, and about things that aren’t real. She doesn’t play an instrument, doesn’t really make music — **** a woman’s voice, a woman’s voice isn’t important. She’s too full of herself. Too concerned about whether she’s pretty, too willing to call herself a star. Too convinced that the men in her life love her. And her fans. They’re obsessed. They’re delusional. They’re crazy. They’re girls.
Stevie Nicks was the first woman I ever heard say she had chosen not to have children because she cared more about her career. The first I ever heard talk about it honestly — depending on the day, she might tell you she made that choice gladly, or she might tell you she still wonders what if. The first that ever warned me men might not like it if there are things more important to me than they are. The first that ever said that that was fine: sometimes, you have to leave them behind.
When you grow up as a girl, the world tells you the things that you are supposed to be: emotional, loving, beautiful, wanted. And then when you are those things, the world tells you they are inferior: illogical, weak, vain, empty. The world teaches you that the way you exist in it is disgusting — you watch boys cringe backward in your dorm room when you talk about your period, blue water pretending to be blood in a maxi pad commercial. It is little things, and it is constant. In a food court in a mall, after you go to the gynecologist for the first time, you and your friend talk about how much it hurts, and over her shoulder you watch two boys your age turn to look at you and wrinkle their noses: the reality of your life is impolite to talk about. The world says that you don’t have a right to the space you occupy, any place with men in it is not yours, you and your body exist only as far as what men want to do with it. At fifteen, you find fifteen-year-old boys you have never met somehow believe you should bend your body to their will. At almost thirty, you find fifteen-year-old boys you have never met still somehow believe you should bend your body to their will. They are children. They are children.
It isn’t just you: other girls are stared at. Other girls are groped. Other girls hear what the world is telling them.
Stevie Nicks surrounds herself with girls. Wherever she goes, she brings girls. “I can’t imagine you in a bathing suit,” someone says in an interview for Rolling Stone, when Stevie says she likes to play in the pool in her backyard. “Yeah, well, you never will,” Stevie says. “And there is never — ever — a man in the backyard. If there is, he is banished to the front of the house.” Men don’t get to look at Stevie Nicks unless Stevie Nicks wants men to look at Stevie Nicks.
In her songs, sometimes, love is actually a competition — a race that she wants to win. She is a queen, she is a witch, she is a dragon, she is in control. Even when she’s talking about how she has to change, she proclaims her power, her ability, her worth. Time cast its spell on you, but you won’t forget me. I know I could have loved you, but you would not let me. I need you because you let me breathe, well you’ve taken me away. But never take me lightly, for I could never stay. I’m not a child anymore, I’m tall enough to reach for the stars. But if I was a child, then a child was enough. She’s the vine, but she’s also the flower. She knows it.
She talks about how hard it is to get old. How hard it is to not be valued the way you were valued when you were young. How much it sucks when a photographer tells you to take your shirt off. She talks about cramps, and hot flashes, and how ****ty it is. She isn’t polite. She’s competitive. She’s bossy. She claimed all the things the men around her claimed — she spent as much money as they spent, had as much sex as they had, was as reckless as they were, stood at the front of the same stage — and never questioned that that was her right. I didn’t know until recently that she ever even thought about the fact that they might treat her like she was less. She didn’t show it.
But what I love, what I love, is she does it without ever giving in to the men that dismiss her. She’s emotional. She’s dramatic. She raises her voice as much as she can. She thinks she’s pretty, she thinks she’s a star, and when her fans crowd up to the edge of the stage, crazy, she welcomes them, with open arms. She revels in it. She revels in it. She’s too much of a girl for you? She revels in it.
I love Stevie Nicks. I love that the world tells us women are there for men, but despite all the boyfriends and the jokes about how she’s so easy and the sex-symbol status, she isn’t there for men at all. She’s there for us.
P.S. If whoever wrote this is a ledgie, I love you because seriously - so much truth and relevance <3

They were able to score Stevie because it was a lull time in her career. She wouldn't be caught dead doing that now.
Don't you ever wonder why she has never publicly spoken of that time she played the part of the wise old owl in that radio show from Canada?

Nah those are more KISS boots than Stevie boots. What so many girls fail to realize is that Stevie's boots never looked like slut boots...just hippie chick boots.
Of course, a lot of that also had to do with what she wore them with...flowing skirts and such, not porn star outfits.

Anyway, towards the end, a kid gives his friend a comic book he drew of her . . .
I thought of Stevie right away. The pics aren't great but you'll get the idea.
I tried to search for info on it, but the only thing I found was someone said the artist had the drawing removed from the internet due to misuse. Wonder if that "misuse" had anything to do with a Stevie resemblance or the "stand back" caption.

Just thought id share a funny Stevie moment that happened today at work (Tennis Pro) out of the blue my lady pupil told me she had a dream last night about STEVIE NICKS, my first thought was:thumbsup::blob2: lol btw she had no idea I'm such a big fan ... Anyway her dream started with Stevie (being Tennis Caption & strongest player) invited her to play ladies doubles in Stevie's newly formed A Grade team, my tennis pupil (Kristen) was absolutely thrilled to be included. After their first match the team went out to lunch to celebrate their win, during lunch Stevie noticed Kristen eating lettuce out of a small plastic bag:shrug:. Stevie was so disgusted!! she got kicked off the team immediately.. Her dream then ended, feeling shocked, & extremely devastated..
The funny side, just imagining Stevie running around the tennis court just cracks me up:sorry:

I had an odd Stevie dream last night.I was sitting in a big room with friend and all a sudden a Stevie show showed up on TV.I was shocked because I did not know the show was coming on TV and I was not set up to record the special at home.As I remember they ran her video clips plus she was dancing around in a big ballroom to music.I wish I remember more of it.
As I do remember she looked like she did in the 1980's and a big smile as I was watching the special.

You got lucky because this is a video that actually exists. It was recorded in England at a castle for an TOSOTM interview. Do you know which one I am talking about? This pic sort of reminds me of the ballroom in the video. Alice is the song played while she twirls in the ballroom.

Holy crap.Yes I think I do.I have not seen it in a while.Yes maybe the dream was related to the TOSOTM Interviews.
The only past was when Stevie was dancing in the ballroom size room and a montage of her music videos playing through out the the hour.I dont remember if there was a interview in the dream.
Hahahaha Maybe I will continue the dream tonight.LOL...

Doesn't Stevie seem pretty normal in this clip? I mean, I feel like this is just how she would talk and act if that interview was taking place today. The Klonopin thing really seemed so in and out. In TOSOTM interviews, she seems pretty dazed, but here, two years later, she seems pretty clear-headed, even though the dependency would in theory be much worse.

I'm sure Stevie had no input with regard to this odd compilation - seven songs from Wild Heart, seven songs from The Other Side of the Mirror. Perhaps it was compiled for a particular foreign market. Still, a very puzzling song selection.

I've been hoping for a dream like this for a while: I was working for Fleetwood Mac while they were rehearsing for their upcoming tour. For the sake of secrecy, they were rehearsing in a school auditorium, during school hours. While the roadies were getting the stage set up, the band was sitting around chatting in the House. I casually mentioned to Lindsey that I had been listening to their album, 'Tango In The Night,' just that morning. All three of the songwriters perked up and began discussing what a hidden gem it was. Lindsey suggested it night be time to highlight the album in their set. I agreed and mentioned it had sold 3 million copies in the States. He turned to Stevie and asked, 'Didn't Ryan Murphy use Seven Wonders in American Horror Story?' Stevie said, 'Yes, but it's a slower mid-tempo song, and it is difficult for me to sing now.' Chris chimed in and said they could re-work it, speeding up the tempo a bit and RAISING the key just a smidge. She also mentioned how she'd been dying to do LIttle Lies on stage with Lindsey in the fold since 1987. By that time, the stage was set and the band took their places. Word got out that the Mac was rehearsing, and some teachers brought their classes to watch. I pulled Lindsey aside and told him we didn't need these people making Chris nervous, her first day of rehearsal. I offered to shoo them out after 10-15 minutes of watching. Lindsey agreed. Stevie had me touch her tambourine for luck as she walked on stage. They started with a cover, 'Fool If You Think It's Over,' switching out lead vocals to warm up. I patrolled the House, and started asking people to leave. I got in one shouting match with a kindergarten teacher because her students were so unruly. Finally, Mick got the idea to have one of the roadies close the curtain while they played so no one could watch. It cleared the auditorium out, and they wrapped rehearsal with a rendition of 'Seven Wonders,' dedicated to me.

Jimmy Iovine, a Master of Beats, Lends Apple a Skilled Ear
By BEN SISARIOMAY 28, 2014
CUPERTINO, Calif. — Apple’s new music impresario, Jimmy Iovine, didn’t start out writing code or studying computer engineering, the usual path of a Silicon Valley mogul. Instead, his career began sweeping floors at New York City recording studios and fetching tea for John Lennon.
But Apple is betting that Mr. Iovine’s four decades in the trenches of the recording industry, his knack for trend-spotting and his credibility with artists will help the company rejuvenate its music business nearly three years after the death of its co-founder, Steven P. Jobs.
On Wednesday, after weeks of speculation, Apple said it would pay $3 billion for Beats Electronics, the company that Mr. Iovine (pronounced eye-oh-VEEN) founded with the rap star Dr. Dre that includes the Beats by Dr. Dre headphone line and a fledgling streaming music service.

For Apple, the acquisition of Beats largely follows a familiar pattern of buying technology outfits that have resources and talent that it can blend into future devices and online services.

Apple’s Pursuit of Beats May Foretell a ShiftMAY 9, 2014
“We looked at the combination with Beats, and what we saw is a company that has incredible, rare talent,” said Apple’s chief executive, Timothy D. Cook, in a joint interview with Mr. Iovine and Dr. Dre at the company’s headquarters here.

One of the most powerful figures in the music industry, Mr. Iovine, 61, brings to Apple deep celebrity connections and a devil-may-care attitude that stands in stark contrast to the businesslike manner of Mr. Cook.
Mr. Iovine’s relationship with Apple dates to the beginnings of iTunes, when he became a friend and crucial advocate for Mr. Jobs as he tried to persuade nervous record executives to sell their songs à la carte.
“Jimmy was one of the first people we showed iTunes to,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s content chief.
As part of the deal, Mr. Iovine and Dr. Dre — whose real name is Andre Young — will join Apple in senior positions reporting to Mr. Cue, and Mr. Iovine will leave his longtime post as chairman of Universal Music Group’s Interscope Geffen A&M division, where he has guided the careers of U2 and Eminem.
Formerly married to a Playboy centerfold, Mr. Iovine rivals some of his artists in his celebrity profile around Hollywood; in a bland corporate conference room at Apple on Wednesday, he wore a shiny blue blazer and light blue suede high-top sneakers.
Apple’s acquisition of Beats reflects the transformation of the music industry over the last decade, which has gone from selling CDs and downloads to fast-growing streaming services like Pandora, Spotify and YouTube. Many in the recording industry say that Beats Music, the company’s new subscription streaming service, is the real growth engine in Apple’s acquisition.
“To have a kingpin around subscription, and someone who really understands content within Apple, we feel very positive about that,” said Lucian Grainge, the chairman of Universal Music. Universal acquired a 14 percent stake in Beats by allowing Mr. Iovine to pursue the company, a share that will net the label more than $400 million.
Mr. Iovine got his start as a studio gofer in the 1970s, but quickly made his name as an engineer and producer, working with acts like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks.
“My life changed because Bruce Springsteen got on a mic in front of me,” Mr. Iovine said. “That continued in my life over and over again, so I get the joke now. Artists have to be represented properly, and paid properly.”
Mr. Iovine and Dr. Dre will each earn hundreds of millions of dollars from the Apple deal.
Interscope Records, which Mr. Iovine founded in 1990 with the retail heir Ted Field, became the hottest label of the 1990s by betting on the commercial appeal of gangsta rap acts like Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg.
“He can see around corners,” said Doug Morris, the chairman of Sony Music, who as the head of Warner Music’s Atlantic Group in the 1990s backed Interscope. “It was Jimmy who really believed that rap was going to go mainstream, and it did exactly what he thought.”
Now part of Universal, Interscope has maintained its success with acts like 50 Cent and Lady Gaga, buoyed by Mr. Iovine’s reputation as a rare corporate executive who understands the creative mind-set of his artists.
Mr. Iovine is also famously relentless in business. To seal a joint-venture deal, he once called an executive at another label every day at 3 p.m. for a year. Gwen Stefani refers to “Jimmy jail” — the purgatory when Mr. Iovine sends his artists back to the studio again and again “to write that last track, that career-changing track,” Ms. Stefani said in an interview. As painful as that jail can be, Mr. Iovine’s nose for hits is usually right. “The good news is, he’s Jimmy,” Ms. Stefani said. “The bad news is, he’s Jimmy.”
Mr. Iovine described his move to Apple as “the second phase of my music career.” But that move began in 2008, when he and Dr. Dre began selling their Beats by Dr. Dre headphones as a response to the cheap white earbuds that Apple gives away with its products. Sold for up to $450, the sleek, bass-heavy earpieces now represent about 60 percent of high-end headphone sales.
Dr. Dre is said to be closely involved with the design of the headphones that bear his name, but Mr. Iovine seems to do most of the talking. In a half-hour joint interview at Apple, Dr. Dre spoke once, saying, “this is the dream.”
“Jimmy figured out that whatever format of music comes along, people are going to need ways to listen to it,” said Jon Landau, the manager of Mr. Springsteen and a longtime friend of Mr. Iovine’s. “He bet into a business in which how the music sells and how much record companies collect is irrelevant.”
But with Beats’s push into streaming, Mr. Iovine — and now Apple — are making a bet on how consumers will listen to music in the future. Thus far, Beats Music has not posed much of a threat so far to established players like Spotify. The service, introduced in January, is estimated to have about 200,000 paying subscribers, while Spotify has 10 million.
“Jimmy has time and again proven his ability to understand the tastes of the mass market, in an extraordinary way,” said David Pakman, a former digital music executive who is now a partner at the venture capital firm Venrock. “But he hasn’t yet proven his ability to get a digital music service off the ground.”
Until now, Apple’s moves toward streaming have been tentative. Its iTunes Radio service, meant to compete against Pandora, has found minimal traction in the market. Yet streaming has become the music industry’s next big hope as download sales are now beginning to plunge after a decade of growth.
Mr. Iovine, Mr. Cook and Mr. Cue all described subscription as a critical part of Apple’s future, although they were careful to say that downloads remain important, too. As part of the deal, the Beats brand and music service will continue on its own, for now.
But on Wednesday, Mr. Iovine was, as ever, the consummate promoter, hyping the deal as a perfect union of technology, style and business know-how.
“You go into any recording studio in the world and you see candles, lights and that Apple light from a Mac,” Mr. Iovine said. “Apple is a company that understands music. They are culturally adept; most technology companies are culturally inept.”
A version of this article appears in print on May 29, 2014, on page A1 of the New York edition with the headline: A Master of Beats Lends Apple a Skilled Ear .

--------------------The Top 10 Most Stylish Women of Rock and Roll-------------
Written by Chelsea - University of Oklahoma
You know what today is – that’s right, it’s time for another fun Top 10 Countdown. This week, we’re focusing on yet another intersection between music and style — the most stylish women of rock and roll.
It never ceases to amaze me how much of our fashion is influenced by musicians. This phenomenon seems to make intuitive sense, though — someone creative enough to produce awesome music probably has the panache and attitude exciting enough to create a memorable aesthetic. It’s pretty cool when you think about it. Anyways, let’s jump right in!
(Note: Because many of these rock goddesses are from eras of the past, licensing photos for this post was more of a challenge than usual. I’ve provided a link to a good Google search under each person’s name to help you get a better, more holistic idea of their personal styles.)
Marianne Faithfull
We might all know Marianne Faithfull best as one of Mick Jagger and Jim Morrison’s muses, but she was also an accomplished rock singer, songwriter, and actress.
Marianne Faithfull adopted many key hippie items in her time – bell bottoms, platforms, fringe vests, and peasant blouses to name a few — but her style was also heavily influenced by the eccentric and funky accessories worn by her famous boyfriends. She was known to wear feather boas, over-the-top fur coats, heart-shaped Lolita sunglasses, and leather pants and jackets. Marianne also wore lots of mod-inspired pieces, like mini dresses, tights, and mary janes.
To steal her look without looking too costume-y, mix a few statement pieces with an otherwise-simple ensemble. Try wearing crazy sunglasses and a hippie headband with a sundress, or lace-up knee-high boots and a fur vest with skinny jeans and a t-shirt.
Marianne Faithfull went light on the make up, but never went anywhere without her thick and perfectly styled bangs. Even though I love the look of bang, I’m way too scared to try them for myself. So, if you’re like me, I hear you can buy reasonably priced clip-in bangs to test the look out. Finish with texture spray throughout the rest of your hair, black eyeliner and mascara along the your top eyelid, and finish with light pink blush.
Songs to check out: As Tear Go By, Angel, Broken English
Karen O
Karen O, lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, is practically synonymous with loud fashion. With a wardrobe mostly made up of pieces by her fashion designer friend Christian Joy, we’ve all grown to expect Karen O to always rock something fantastic.
Karen’s wardrobe is known for mixing colors, fabrics and textures, bulky layers, unusual shapes, and a dose of theatricality. She’s been seen in jackets made of our pounded leather plates, Beetlejuice-esque black and white suits, geometrically shaped dresses, and more.
Want to snag her style, but still look classroom-appropriate? Try wearing really funky earrings and bangle bracelets with a neutral outfit, or rock a pair of patterned harem pants with a plain tank and a cropped jacket.
Karen O’s famous haircut is another thing that makes her stand out from the crowd. It sort of resembles the infamous cereal bowl haircut – but in the best way possible. Her mop top gives her a funky, quirky innocence that she totally pulls off. While I wouldn’t recommend this haircut for the faint of heart, you can easily copy this look by pulling your hair into a low ponytail and pulling out face-framing layers. Finish with a bright lip color and eye shadow.
Songs to check out: Maps, Heads Will Roll, Zero
Heart
Nancy and Ann Wilson, the (respective) lead singer and guitarist for the band Heart, were considered two of the most badass babes of their time.
These sisters cranked out tons of hits and looks insanely chic while doing so. The Wilson sisters often wore skin-tight leather pants and jeans, suede and leather vests, studded jackets, and flowy blouses. To steal their rock star-glam look, wear skinny jeans with your toughest pair of boots, a silky button-down shirt, and a funky vest.
Nancy and Ann Wilson both also rocked feathered, center-parted hair styles, which were all the rage back in the mid-’70s during Heart‘s peak in popularity. Their makeup was full and glamorous, both focusing on their big, cat-like eyes.
To copy their look, blow dry your hair away from your face with a round brush, tease the roots, and finish with hairspray. Line your eyes with black eyeliner and smudge some gray eyeshadow on your lids. Finish with two or three coats of black mascara, focusing on the outer third of your lashline.
Songs to check out: Barracuda, Magic Man, Crazy on You
Janis Joplin
Before Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie made boho-chic the hottest look of an entire decade, there was Janis Joplin, the ultimate hippie chick.
Janis Joplin popularized the classic hippie look that we all think of when we think about the flower children of the 1960s. She often wore bell bottoms, peasant tops, long necklaces, earthy jewelry, hippie headbands, feathers, platform sandals, and round sunglasses.
To copy her look without looking too costume-y, incorporate just one of two hippie elements into an otherwise modern outfit — try small round sunglasses during game day, or a hippie headband and platform sandals on a fun night out.
Janis wasn’t big on makeup, but her hair more than stole the show. To recreate her free-wheeling hairstyle, spray damp hair with tons of texturizing spray and blow dry with a diffuser. Flip upside down and douse lightly with hairspray.
Songs to check out: Me and Bobby McGee, Piece of My Heart, Cry Baby
Courtney Love
We all know her best as the late Kurt Cobain’s widow, but as the lead singer of Hole, Courtney Love created headlines in her own right for her grungy, pseudo-gothic style in the ’90s.
Haute couture fashion houses sent Courtney dresses to wear, which she’d immediately rip, fray, and re-pin to create her own interesting look. She was known for adding lace and studs to her outfits when she saw fit, and often rocked clunky Hushpuppies or Doc Martens with otherwise feminine ensembles.
Steal her style by pairing tough leather or denim jackets with frilly dresses, adding a heavy-soled pair of shoes, and spraying salt spray in your hair for a devil-may-care, bed-head sort of texture.
Another major signature of Courtney Love is her smudgy, slept-in makeup. To recreate this look, apply dramatic makeup in a semi-haphazard fashion. Swipe red lipstick along your lower lip and blot your lips together to spread the color. Apply black eyeliner to your upper and lower lids, but don’t worry about using primer or setting with translucent powder.
This sort of “anti-fashion” style approach worked for Courtney because of her confident, rebellious spirit. Carry yourself with the same ballsy attitude for an instant confidence boost.

Hayley Williams
Hayley Williams is the young and spunky lead singer of Paramore. Her youthful and fun attitude is evident in her punky, energetic, and almost mallrat-esque way of dressing.
Hayley’s a fan of neon and bold colors, textured and patterned leggings and pants, pumped-up kicks, mini skirts, and graphic tees. She’s very petite, and highlights that with form-fitting silhouettes.
To get Hayley’s look, pair a graphic t-shirt with a hot pink or electric blue skirt. Finish with a pair of tights and some Chuck Taylors or Nike Dunks.
Hayley’s biggest signature is definitely her unnaturally-colored hair. From cotton candy pink to traffic cone orange, Hayley’s boldly-hued hair helps casual fans identify her when she’s apart from Paramore.
Love the idea of neon hair, but don’t want to commit? Try spray-in or clip-in color for a fun way to play on the weekend. As far as makeup goes, Hayley is also a fan of neon-colored eyeliner and lipstick.

Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac has more than just a pretty face and killer pipes — she’s also a fantastic, heartfelt songwriter and has a truly iconic sense of style.
I have two words to describe Stevie’s style – gypsy goddess. She was the queen of maxi skirts and dresses, oversized loose-knit sweaters, bat-winged and caped sleeve blouses, slouchy boots, and long scarves. Hats were another huge feature of Stevie’s style — from top hats to beanies, Stevie made them all look cool and laid-back.
To steal her look, pair a maxi skirt with a distressed sweater, your favorite pair of boots, and a hat if you’re feeling bold. Thanks to boho babes like Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen, an outfit like this won’t look dated at all.
Stevie Nicks’ mop of wavy blonde hair is another one of her most beautiful features. To copy the look, spritz dry shampoo and hairspray on dirty hair, then curl by wrapping 1-inch sections around the closed barrel of a curling iron. When you’ve finished your entire head, shake and brush out with your fingertips and spritz once again with hairspray.
Songs to check out: Rhiannon, The Chain, Don’t Stop, Landslide, Dreams
Florence Welch
Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine blew our minds on the airwaves as well as the red carpet. Her retro, throwback style is cool because it channels fashion aesthetics from the past, but does so in a very subtle and modern way.
Florence is often seen in lacy frocks, loose-fitting floral sundresses, oxford heels, and pearl jewelry. To steal Flo’s look, check out the retro-fabulous dresses on ModCloth and pair them with Victorian-esque shoes, a long necklace, and simple stud earrings. If ModCloth is a little pricey for your liking, be sure to check out vintage stores in your town, or even rummage through a grandma or aunt’s closet — you never know what treasures you might find!
Another thing I think is really cool about Florence Welch is her signature look in the beauty department. Her fiery red hair is immediately recognizable, and Florence is rarely seen without her signature cherry-red lips. For a perfect opaque red lip, apply some lip balm, wait 15 minutes, then exfoliate with an old toothbrush. Apply more lip balm, and after another 10 minutes, blot off the residue and carefully apply your favorite shade of red lipstick. Dust with translucent powder, and throw the lipstick in your purse for any late-night touch ups.
Songs to check out: Shake it Out, Dog Days are Over, Spectrum
Debbie Harry
The original punk babe Debbie Harry is also known by her stage name Blondie. Equally as famous as her music were her gorgeous features and killer, rebellious sense of style.
Debbie Harry had an incredible way of making boyish, punky clothes look insanely feminine and sexy. Her graphic tees, mini dresses, hotpants, and cropped jackets were all skin-tight and sexy. She loved high-heel stilettos and boots. Debbie wore a ton of denim, and lots of patterns as well. Replicate her style by wearing a concert tee shirt with a pair of short-shorts, and boots or platforms.
To mimic Blondie’s beauty, go for a clean line of black eyeliner on your upper lid, fanning it out slightly for a chic cat eye. Blow dry your hair sleek with a round brush, but rough up the ends with wax or pomade. Finish with matte red lipstick.
Songs to check out: Rapture, Heart of Glass, One Way or Another
Gwen Stefani
I’ve had a girl crush on Gwen Stefani since I can remember. Gwen got her start as the lead singer of No Doubt, which has evolved into a successful solo career and a critically acclaimed fashion line.
Gwen Stefani has always had a very eccentric sense of style that seeks inspiration from eastern cultures. In the early ’90s, she often rocked Bindi jewels on her forehead. Today, her personal style and even the direction of her clothing line is influenced by Japanese anime culture. A fan of bold, statement-making pieces, Gwen was one of the main reasons why harem pants caught wind (pun intended) a few years ago. She’s also been known to wear funky shoes, kimonos, cropped patterned jackets, and more.
Gwen Stefani’s hair is a cornerstone of her unique style as well. In her early years, she experimented with blue and pink hair, and tied them into three or four buns across the top of her head. Now, she’s very into retro pin-up style hairdos that often involved elaborate rolls and gorgeous soft waves. She looks beautiful no matter what, but I definitely love her current platinum blonde pin-up style. It looks especially chic with her black eyeliner cat-eyes and red lips.

Heres a article from New York Times about a very young Jimmy Iovine working with John Lennon and Apple computer .
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/29/business/media/jimmy-iovine-a-master-of-beats-lends-apple-a-skilled-ear.html
Formerly married to a Playboy centerfold, Mr. Iovine rivals some of his artists in his celebrity profile around Hollywood; in a bland corporate conference room at Apple on Wednesday, he wore a shiny blue blazer and light blue suede high-top sneakers.
Mr. Iovine got his start as a studio gofer in the 1970s, but quickly made his name as an engineer and producer, working with acts like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks.
But on Wednesday, Mr. Iovine was, as ever, the consummate promoter, hyping the deal as a perfect union of technology, style and business know-how.
Jimmy Iovine, left, and John Lennon in 1974, during the recording of Mr. Lennon’s “Walls and Bridges” album in New York City. Credit Bob Gruen
And Jimmy today.
Well there's another guy who got co-opted by "the business". And to think he balked at wearing a gold half moon necklace because he was a New York guy with no Hollywood pretensions and hated all that sh*t and wanted keep Stevie grounded in reality.
If Jimmy then could see that picture of Jimmy now he'd barf.
I guess if you can't beat'em join 'em.
btw I never knew he was 5 years younger than Stevie.

If you look at the pictures from the IYD photos, they seem to be from mid level heights....
And, on Zillow, there are two 7th floor condos ( next door to each other ) for sale.
They are not that big in square footage and listed in the 2.4M range.
In one of them, there is a sparsely furnished one - sorta like someone moving out - however, there is a keyboard facing the ocean and some guitars, mics, bongos scattered throughout... The decor is odd. Not saying it's her place but didn't she just buy a place in Malibu or something?

one of the recent articles where they interviewed her at the apartment described it as one big room
Stevie Nicks lives in the bow of a ship in the sky. At least that’s the feeling one gets from inside her condo along the Pacific Coast Highway, a glass-fronted, vertically stacked “penthouse.” If you walk to the outer*most edge of her vast, open living room, with walls paneled in wood and beige furniture covered in white fur throws, the view is 180 degrees, from Palos Verdes to Pointe Dume, Malibu. On a clear day, you can see Catalina Island and, if you’re lucky, dolphins. ...
She takes me out onto that balcony. “When I moved in here, everybody said, ‘You’re paying a lot of money for one big room,’ but the architect said to me, ‘You should never worry about that because there are eight views like this in the world. Not Paris, not London, not Rome.’ ”
Another window looks back into the hills. From it, she can see Tara and the *giant oak or sycamore—she’s not sure which—in the backyard she wrapped in Christmas lights years ago that she never took down. (http://www.vulture.com/2013/06/stevie-nicks-on-life-at-65-with-fleetwood-mac.html)

From what I can tell on Zillow - the app - the website gives different info on what's for sale it seems - there isn't any name of the building... Just "101 Ocean" on the front on the building, which is the address. For a building with only 35 or so condos in it, there are quite a few for sale or lease in it right now.
Just wondering... Is that a new thing? Buildings having websites? I live in the land of condos - So Fla - and I couldn't imagine someone wanting any kinda low profile place to live, moving into a place that did that. I guess maybe while it's under construction and as a sales thing, but not an established building of wealthy peeps.
Nothing would surprise me in that market at this point though....

Adele Has "Best Night" of Her Life With Stevie Nicks: Picture

Rumor has it that two vocal powerhouses met in London on Wednesday, May 27. The ever-elusive Adele took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to share a rare photo of herself with none other than Stevie Nicks.
The British performer, 27, found herself in the presence of the rock idol when Nicks' band Fleetwood Mac took the stage at London's O2 Arena for the latest stop on the ongoing On with the Show world tour. Adele cozies up to Nicks, 67, in the sweet shot, grinning as the two blonde singers pose in head-to-toe black.

"So...tonight was THE best night of my life," the "Rolling in the Deep" singer tweeted. "I love you Stevie Nicks!! The queen of melodies! Thanks for everything x."
According to UK music mag NME, Nicks acknowledged Adele during the show, telling the crowd of the Grammy winner, "I told her, 'You're going to be me in 40 years. You're going to still be up onstage doing what you're doing because of your songwriting.'" Nicks then reportedly dedicated her performance of the 1970s classic "Landslide" to the "Skyfall" singer.
Adele, who continues to ready her long-awaited third studio album, was hardly the only star at Fleetwood Mac's packed show. The veteran musicians, who are making stops in big cities around the globe through November, were also visited last night by Florence Welch, and Harry Styles with his sister Gemma and mother Anne.
Sources tell Us Weekly that Styles and his family spent time with Nicks backstage at the O2. The One Direction star baked a birthday cake at his home and brought it to the "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" singer, who celebrated her 67th birthday on Tuesday, May 26.

Adele and Florence Welch watch Fleetwood Mac kick off UK tour in London Fleetwood Mac Tickets
The band - including Christine McVie - played London's O2 last night (May 27)
Share
Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks dedicated the song 'Landslide' to Adele on the opening night of the band's UK tour.
The group played the first of a run of shows at London's The O2 last night (May 27), with Nicks addressing the crowd mid-set to talk about her love of British singer, Adele. "She's from here - you might know her," commented Nicks. "She's a fantastic songwriter... I told her 'you're going to be me in 40 years, you're going to still be up onstage doing what you're doing because of your songwriting'." The song 'Landslide' originally featured on the band's self-titled 1975 album.
Fleetwood Mac were joined by keyboard player and songwriter Christine McVie, who is now a full-time member of the band again, after first appearing on stage with the group at the same London venue in September 2013 before officially rejoining in January 2014. McVie - who wrote some of the band's most well known songs - left the band in 1998.
The band arrived onstage at 8.15pm and played a 22 song, hit-packed set to a sold out crowd. Opening with 'The Chain', it was followed by 'You Make Loving Fun' after which Christine McVie commented: "Thanks very much London, it's great to be here." Stevie Nicks then explained that it was the 82nd show of their current tour. "And now on show 82 I think we can safely say that our girl is back!," she added, gesturing to McVie.
Following 'Rhiannon', McVie addressed the crowd once more. "I can't tell you what a thrill it is to be on the stage with these wonderful musicians who I consider my family," she said. "You don't get this chance many times in life - I got it twice." The band then started a mass sing-along with 'Everywhere'. Guitar player Lindsey Buckingham later spoke about "the return of the beautiful Christine" and called it "a karmic, circular moment".
Later, for the songs 'Over My Head' and 'Gypsy', drummer Mick Fleetwood swapped his large kit for a smaller one at the front of the stage, which Christine McVie referred to as a "cocktail kit". During 'World Turning' he embarked on an epic drum solo, much to the delight of the crowd. "****, this is a huge, massive place," he remarked towards the end.
Following the show, both Adele and Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch were pictured backstage with Stevie Nicks. See those photos beneath.

Stevie Nicks says 'every band should have a girl in it'
Loulla-Mae Eleftheriou-Smith
Sunday 31 May 2015
Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks believes that every band should have a mix of men and women because it “casts a romantic spell”.
In an interview with Mojo magazine the Go Your Own Way singer said: “I think every band should have a girl in it, because it’s always going to make for cooler stuff going on than if it’s just a bunch of guys.”
She added that the mixed gender dynamic “casts a romantic spell,” despite whether any of the members of the group are together or not.
Fleetwood Mac has returned to the UK this week as part of their European tour, playing with keyboardist Christine McVie for the first time in 16, to rave reviews.
On Wednesday night British singer and songwriter Adele met Nicks before the show, and posted a picture of the pair together on Twitter, with the message: “So tonight was THE best night of my life. I love you Stevie Nicks!! The queen of melodies! Thanks for everything x”.
Nicks reportedly told the crowd that night about meeting Adele, and claimed the 27-year-old singer will be just like her when she’s older.
“I told [Adele], ‘You’re going to be me in 40 years’,” she said into the microphone. “You’re going to still be up onstage doing what you’re doing because of your song writing.”

Arizona Musicians
Music lovers 16 to 60 are likely fans of Arizona’s wide range of popular musicians. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Duane Eddy and Phoenix DJ Lee Hazelwood developed a signature twangy sound in a Phoenix recording studio in the 1950s. Rock legends like Alice Cooper and Stevie Nicks have inspired a generation of followers. International audiences delight in the distinctive “southwestern” blend of strings and percussion created by Joey Burns and his band, Calexico. More recently, Glendale-born Jordin Sparks is lighting up stages all over the nation after winning American Idol in 2007. These musicians and more are showcased at the Musical Instrument Museum's "I Am Arizona Music" exhibition.
Stevie Nicks
Crowned the “Queen of Rock and Roll” by Rolling Stone Magazine in 1981, Phoenix native Stevie Nicks is the woman behind some of the most recognizable rock hits of all time. Despite a tumultuous personal life, she has enjoyed a quarter-century of musical success and continues to thrill audiences with solo performances and reunion tours with the iconic rock band Fleetwood Mac.
Her lifetime of solo and collective work has produced 40 Top 50 hits and sold over 140 million albums. She has received eight Grammy nominations for her solo work and has won the 1978 Album of the Year Grammy and the 2003 Grammy Hall of Fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac (as well as admission to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998).
Nicks began singing at four, under the instruction of her grandfather. When her parents gave her a guitar when she was sixteen, she wrote her first song the very next day. She met fellow rocker Lindsay Buckingham while attending college, and the duo dropped out in 1968 to begin a career in music. After years of struggle and lackluster sales of their only album, Buckingham-Nicks caught the attention of Fleetwood Mac on December 31, 1974—and musical history was made.
The addition of Buckingham and Nicks to the group synthesized Fleetwood Mac’s third and most critically and commercially successful period. Formed as a British blues band in 1967, the group slid toward progressive and inviting pop songs in the early 1970s. The addition of Nicks brought strong vocals, outstanding harmony, and another songwriter to the band; Buckingham brought his talent for musical arrangement. The fearless vocals and compelling lyrics on the 1975 album Fleetwood Mac, featuring Nicks’ signature song, “Rhiannon” and the oft-covered “Landslide,” catapulted the band into mainstream acclaim. 1977’s album Rumors, including Nicks’ #1 hit, “Dreams,” cemented the band’s superstardom. Rumors has sold 40 million copies and is the ninth-best-selling album of all time.
Stevie worked on launching a solo career while recording the double album Tusk with Fleetwood Mac, but tragedy would soon rock her ambitions. The day her 1981 solo album Bella Donna reached #1 on the Billboard charts, she learned that her best friend from childhood had terminal breast cancer.
For the next several years, Nicks toured and recorded with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist. Nicks enthralled fans with her revealing lyrics and fearless delivery. Walking the knife edge between hard rocker and fantasy princess, Nicks became a style icon admired as much for her manner as her songwriting.
However, by 1986, drug use was beginning to affect her performance. After receiving treatment, she retreated to her home in the Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley, a place which would become a refuge over the next ten years from continuing struggles with illness, drug abuse, and heartbreak even while she continued recording and touring. Nicks left Fleetwood Mac in 1994, not long after Lindsey Buckingham made his exit.
The band members reunited in 1997 for the hugely successful tour and live album, The Dance. Shortly afterward, Nicks released a successful box set of her solo career. She continues to write, record, and perform. Nicks also works on her charity, Nick’s Band of Soldiers, which benefits wounded military personnel. In 2007 she sold her house in Arizona, and currently resides in Pacific Palisades.

Stevie Nicks is currently touring with Fleetwood Mac
Stevie is currently spearheading the band’s On With The Show tour which hits the UK today when they play the Genting Arena in Birmingham. But the Arizona-born rock star has developed a bone problem and has aggravated an old knee injury while performing.
“I have a bone spur in my toe from wearing my ballerina platform shoes on stage every night.
“And I had a fall in 2013 where I really hurt my left knee,” she says.
“Somehow a couple of weeks ago I reinjured it. I think I stepped down a little too hard on it on stage.

This morning i was watching one of the morning shows, i cant exactly remember why but they mentioned Stevie and showed the 1977 clip singing Dreams. Apparently F/M rocked up to Festival Hall in Sydney off their faces just after their arrival the tour promoter told Stevie and crew to enter via number 26 door then Stevie said to him what time is the plane leaving, thinking she was at a airport terminal:]:D:eek::thumbsup: lol

I apologize to make this post so looooooong but its worth to scroll though it..Just think that Christmas came early for some of you that missed out the first time around or the original files got lost on your computer or Ipod.
Heres a collection of Stevie/FM stuff I'd shared over the years on the Ledge which is stored on Adrive.
Adrive is discontinuing their free sharing service as of Nov 16 so I want to make sure these get shared before they get deleted.
Not to load up and dredge up old threads on every forum . Also It would take me forever to bump up every original thread these were posted in so I put everything in this post.
Sorry about some links maybe dups and dead.Let me know if the links are dead in this thread before the 16th of this month.I'll be happy to renew them.

I always loved when Stevie sings backup with other artists.
You've got that right. Stevie is at her best as a harmony singer. If you need proof, listen to:
"Insider" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
"Get My Way" by Sandy Stewart"
"Magnet and Steele" by Walter Egan
"Gold" by John Stewart
"Sorcerer" by Marilyn Martin
"Smiling Islands" by Robbie Patton
"Honey Hi" by Fleetwood Mac

Thanks Viv.Any free cloud drive will do.I got some in the works to keep the sharing going on.I already downloaded all the files which was 63.3 GB off both accounts weeks ago.Now they are all on my backup external drive.I had other important stuff on there besides Stevie/FM stuff.
WARNING . Also those backup drives should be mirrored ."Copied to another backup drive" in case of the external drive fails.I just had that happen last week.Luckily I got my files off it before it went kaput..

Well its Christmas Eve here in OZ, so wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..
I woke up this morning switched on the morning TV station, and there was Stevie singing Silent Night just a short clip, but still pretty cool.. unfortunately i have no idea why they showed this particular clip or what even the story was about.. Bummer i missed the start of it..
I saw this morning show as well. They were playing excerpts of Christmas themed songs and "Silent Night" (with Tom Petty from 2000) was one of those chosen. About two minutes was played and it was clearly sourced from a sub-par copy off Youtube. There was no discussion of Stevie before or afterwards.

Stevie Nicks: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 1)
By PPcorn -
Jan 8, 2016
rainbowpie.co.uk
Stevie Nicks is most well-known for being part of the iconic band Fleetwood Mac, but she is a notable artist in her own right. Nicks may have been around the block a few times, but she continues to be one of the most relevant artists in the industry. However, despite the fact that Nicks has spent a considerable amount of time in the spotlight and under the scrutiny of the public eye, there are still some things that many people don’t know. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Stevie Nicks. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
Number Fifteen: She Loves “Mabel Normand.” Nicks’ favorite song on 24-Karat Gold is “Mabel Normand.” Nicks wrote the song about a silent movie star who abused cocaine and died as a result. Nicks had a close connection to the star because of her own struggles with cocaine.
Number Fourteen: She Did Weight Watchers. In a 2014 interview, Nicks revealed that she had been doing Weight Watchers to lose weight. She said that it works, although now the only thing she asks for in her dressing room is a plate of fruit.
Number Thirteen: She Loves Animal Crackers. Nicks says that animal crackers are her biggest weakness. In fact, she will sometimes ask someone to hide them if they are nearby.
Number Twelve: She Married Someone Out of Grief. One of Nicks’ closest friends was Robin Snyder Anderson, who gave birth to her son and died of leukemia two days later. Nicks was grieving and ended up marrying Anderson’s grieving husband so she could raise their son as her own. However, she later realized the mistake of marrying someone out of grief rather than love, and they divorced three months later.
Number Eleven: She Has a Bald Dog. Nicks adopted a 16-year-old Yorkshire terrier mix named Sulasmith and subsequently became concerned when she noticed the dog’s back was bald. Apparently, Sulasmith is part Chinese Crested, which are dogs that often have bald backs.
Number Ten: Her Dog Dresses in Cashmere. Nicks’ longtime friend and backup singer is Sharon Celani, and every time Celani buys cashmere, she has the same piece replicated for Nicks’ dog Sulasmith. Suffice to say that Sulasmith owns a lot of cashmere.
Number Nine: She Has a Special Chair. In 2003, Nicks bought a black leather massage chair that she takes with her everywhere.

Stevie Nicks: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)
By PPcorn -
Jan 11, 2016
We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Stevie Nicks, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and Fleetwood Mac member that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: She Hangs Jewelry on Statues. Nicks hangs her most important jewelry on a goddess statue in her bathroom at home. She also puts her rings on a chain, and she insists that when you put rings on a chain “you will never, ever lose them.”
Number Seven: She Supported Christine McVie Leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1998. Nicks says that she understood what McVie was going through when she quit Fleetwood Mac in 1998. Nicks and McVie were best friends, so Nicks thoroughly understood the pain that McVie was experiencing at the time.
Number Six: She Knows the Moment She Became a Drug Addict. Nicks says that the moment she became a drug addict was when she began buying her own cocaine. She said, “When you’re just using other people’s drugs, you’re not really doing it, but as soon as you start buying it, you’re doing it.”
Number Five: She Loves Luxury Fabrics. Nicks is incredibly sensitive to the touch, so everything she wears needs to feel good on her skin. She wears a lot of velvet and silk because of this.
Number Four: She Considers Her Affair With Mick Fleetwood an Accident. Nicks has said that her year-long affair with Mick Fleetwood “never shoulda happened.” She says that both of them knew it should never have happened from the beginning. She did not want to be the woman who broke up another man’s marriage.
Number Three: She Has a Diverse Taste in Television. Nicks has stated that she likes many television shows, including American Horror Story, Million Dollar Listing, and NCIS, among others.
Number Two: She Uses Scarves for Interior Design. Nicks brings scarves to her hotel rooms to drape over lamps if the lighting isn’t good enough. She also used to use rainbow lightbulbs.
Number One: She Wants to Make a “Rhiannon” Movie. Nicks has several ambitious project ideas, including a “Rhiannon” movie and a cartoon based on the Buckingham Nicks song titled “Goldfish and the Ladybug.” However, she says that those projects are not her priority right now.

See Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood's Sultry Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty Duet
Stars join forces at Canberra, Australia show to sing rockers' "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around"
Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood perform the Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks hit "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" during their Australian tour.
By Brittney McKenna
At a show at Canberra, Australia's GIO Stadium on Saturday, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood paid homage to the influence of Fleetwood Mac superstar Stevie Nicks and her fellow rock icon Tom Petty. As they previously did during the American Idol series finale, Urban and Underwood covered "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," a 1981 hit from Nicks's debut solo album Bella Donna that featured Petty and his band the Heartbreakers.
Trading verses on the fiery duet, Underwood and Urban also brought a little twang to the tune. The show was a stop on Urban's Ripcord World Tour 2016, which Underwood co-headlined for the Oceania leg. Earlier this month, the pair debuted the first-ever live performance of the Ripcord duet "The Fighter."
In related news, Nicks and Petty just announced an upcoming show together in London. Nicks will support Petty and the Heartbreakers as part of the British Summer Time Hyde Park concert series on July 9th, with additional support from the Lumineers. The performance is in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' beloved self-titled debut album.
Urban's Ripcord World Tour wraps up in Brisbane on December 17th. Urban will then head back to the States to headline Nashville's New Year's Eve Celebration at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.

Solo Stevie music on the radio seems to be a rare occurrence over here, unless I just miss it.
