Well, who is going to watch it. I personally don't want to watch becuase I know Meryl Streep is going to get screwed out another oscar. My opnion is that her performance was in a class of its own. Viola Davis is going to win because the help was popular. I personally, don't think that she deserves to nominated. I have seen that performance before and she not the lead actress or the emotional center of the movie. Those belong to Emma Stone and Octavia Spencer. I also feel that Michelle Williams was just a shadow of Marilyn Monroe and did not deserve to be nominated.
Poor Streep. She is in a class all her own and some people just take that for granted.
I'm watching the Red Carpet now. I'm switching back & forth between ABC & E. I like to see what everyone is wearing. I've only seen one movie that got some nominations & that's Bridemaids, a very funny movie. Melissa McCarthy was really good in it. I like Meryl Streep, so anything she's in is usually pretty good. I'll probably watch until 10 & then go to bed.

When I woke up and read she'd won Best Actress I literally jumped all around my room. :blob1:

Meryl was great in The Iron Lady. Def the best of the nominees (not that that's saying much). But she would only be fourth on my (personal) list of best of the year:
(in no particular order)
Keira Knightley - Last Night
Zoe Saldana - Colombiana
Anna Faris - What's Your Number?

No offense to Meryl Streep but I don't like her latest movie. Don't think she was all that great as Thatcher. But on the other hand she was the only one who deserved the Oscar among the other nominees. I wish the Polish movie by Agnieszka Holland had won award for best foreign film. But it seems that people are already tired of the topic of Holocaust.

I love Meryl, but think she's won enough awards.
But seriously, she's a favorite of mine. I loved her most in Julie & Julia.

I'm so happy that Meryl won, she's just on another level completely to everyone else. I still feel sorry for Viola Davis though. I can't help but feel this was her one and only chance :(

Viola has been nominated for an oscar before, for the movie Doubt. I don't think this her last chance. I think Meryl deserved the award and finally, she won out over biases.
