What could this be? Is Stevie recording something extra to add to the doc in memoriam to her mom? It wouldn't be surprising that she is planning on dedicating her IYD doc to her mum! Maybe she re-recorded "Touched By An Angel" or wrote a new song!

Doesn't suprise me. She often records demos in February of any year.

I haven't been keeping up with Stevie. What happened with that tribute album for her mom she was supposed to do? I've seen several posts on the Ledge that suggest it's no longer in the works. Was the project shelved?

I think it's a big assumption to say it was ever "in the works" to begin with. The only info we had on a possible album in tribute to her mother was a "source" quoted by the National Enquirer, who said that Stevie wanted to do something in light of her mother's passing.
Then, of course, speculation here went crazy, and before we knew it, people had concluded that Stevie was putting together everything from a CD of covers of songs her mother loved, to a whole new CD or original material.
So to answer your question, we don't even know if there was a "project" to be shelved.

Thank you for the update, Ruby. Interesting to see how this information is spread via different social media. And second day is intriguing, of course. Now if we could get him to tell us if she wanted it to be: " like Fleetwood Mac wasn't there but they were there."

I wonder if this will delay the FM plans for next year.

I'm sure this is what was contemplated when we heard that she wanted to spend more time promoting IYD, rather than jumping back into FM. So, I don't think it will delay 2013. I just think that it was in the offing when we heard the band wouldn't be working together in 2012.
I think the delay has already been factored in.

Stevie could simply be recording some demos for inclusion into future projects (the Mac being a possible home for some of them). She probably has lots of poetry following the death of her much beloved Mother, and she's probably just putting some of that into song form. :)
...or she's doing backing vocals/a duet with one of her "famous friends." There have been quite a few people who have mentioned lately they'd love to work with her.

Does she normally call in a drummer for demos? The demos that I've heard all sound like drum machines were used.

That was my first thought. Most of her demos are drum machine loops, very few have live drum tracks.
That's why my 1st thought was she was recording a new song in the studio to possibly add to an expanded In Your Dreams package (including the documentary) or possibly a song that plays over the credits or something along those lines.
But it could be any number of things. A soundtrack song?? Stockpiling new demos for future projects etc. etc. It's all very mysterious and exciting.

I bet she expands IYD. She is treating the album as a huge success. Screw the sales. Most albums that do well have expanded additions.

ooooo....i'd love to believe that is true....i love the idea of stubborn Stevie pushing IYD just because she believes in it:thumbsup:

That is somewhat true. However, most expanded CDs are typically offered around the same time the standard CD is released. It's usually not an after thought. Of course vintage albums are often re-released on CD with added material, but In Your Dreams isn't vintage yet!

Maybe the dvd will contain a bonus cd with 4-5 tracks that contains one song for her mom?

If we believe Dave stewards tweets abot the documentary is completely in the hands of WB I'm not sure a documentary will be released at all

i think she may have been recording something for someone else's album. her usual drummer, jimmy paxon, lives in los angeles. if she were working on something of her own--i would be shocked if she chose to call someone else.

I'm pretty sure Jimmy is just her touring drummer, he did not appear on IYD or any official released recordings.
