Wow, this is the most surreally bizarre bit of news I've heard in a long, long time. This is absolutely brilliant! I am not familiar with this show, but I suspect that it is one of the better sitcoms out there at the moment. In fact, I have pretty much enjoyed anything starring Will Arnett, who has generally done projects that are left of center, namely Arrested Development. I just have to wonder how/why this has come up... now, of all times. Stevie has already insisted that she is a horrible actress, so why would she put herself through this? What is she trying to promote? Is Stevie going to become the rocker version of Betty White (who makes a cameo in just about everything on TV)? And if she gets to perform on top of everything else, why... I'll just spontaneously combust with joy. :p

Stevie was referenced earlier this season in one of the shows. I think it was mentioned in a thread a couple of months back.

Not sure how well this would go over, huh? I'm a little shocked....But she's gotta promote the IYD doc. right? She was a little spacey o'n that Australian awards show back in Nov/Dec....Bet big bad Howard is behind this.. But I'm happy she's out and about. She looked so good at the Iovine Grammy party....

I enjoy Up All Night. Applegate and Arnett have some great one liners, as hipster parents.

i think the show is hilarious and i follow it via ondemand. the show totally hits all the right buttons for me --- i love christina applegate (who didn't love Married with Children, am i right or am i right?), a lot of my friends are now having kids, so i can sort of relate to all these new moms/former non-moms, and it didn't hurt that they also mentioned stevie at the tail end of the first episode, which totally and completely won me over.
i love that she's gonna guest star on it!

This is the best news I've heard all week. She is gonna rock it I'm sure.!!! Something to look forward to.. that and the docu.
The fact that she has never made a TV cameo before makes it all the more unique and special. For once she is going to be in a show rather then just being referenced.

This is a great move! The show is funny and current.
Maybe the Rudolph and Arnett (married to Amy Pohler) hook up could lead to a Saturday Night Live performance!!

She did the Chris Isaak Show on Showtime 10 years ago. But obviously the exposure on NBC is orders of magnitude greater. I seriously hope this does not involve a story arc featuring yet another horrible Maya Rudolph impersonation (of Stevie). They have gotten her to impersonate Beyonce and Whitney Houston in the past... but she just ends up looking/sounding like, uh, Maya Rudolph.

It was back in September on the show that Ava mentioned she had attended a barbecue at Stevie's house.

Stevie Nicks has signed up to appear on Up All Night.
The singer will guest star on an upcoming installment of the NBC series, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Nicks will play herself in an episode that sees Reagan (Christina Applegate) and Ava (Maya Rudolph) attempting to convince her to appear on Ava's talk show.
The singer, who is a member of Fleetwood Mac, recently urged the general public to do more to support military servicemen and women.
Drummer Mick Fleetwood has said that Fleetwood Mac will go on tour sometime this year.
Up All Night airs Thursdays at 9.30pm on NBC.

That's why she isn't performing as another character, she's just appearing only as herself. "Sometimes she was just an actress" Stevie is a character actress just being Stevie.

She also played herself in that movie from 1993 that no one seems to be able to find. The quote of yours, "Sometimes she was just an actress" was written about Sheryl Crow. You knew that, right?

This is one of my favorite shows. Emily Spivey's little brainchild of a comedy. Brilliant stuff and a brilliant choice for Stevie. I love how they're returning to the mention of her barbecue from back in September. I asked Spivey on Facebook when it'll air. The show finishes up in April (when Parks & Rec returns) so maybe it'll be their season ender. Still - best news all week.

#9 The Fleetwood Mac front woman appeared in the season one episode, “Letting Go” as a ‘baby whisperer’ who Reagan (Christina Applegate) and Ava want on their show. Nicks, who plays herself in the sitcom, has the ability to hush babies and dogs with the lift of a finger.

I could not disagree more I thought the entire episode was brilliant. It was wonderful to see Stevie treated with respect and not made fun of. They played into her image without it being stupid. I also enjoyed the side story about her husband trying to play hockey with the younger guys. That could be because I am 31 years old and I frequently need a pain killer after I played a sporting event with my friends who are 22 haha. ALSO, They played a rare Stevie song And it went well over the montage of those people in their lives. And it's all that wasn't enough Stevie Nicks looked gorgeous. Wavy hair, flowing sleeves. OH HELL AND HEVEN YES! THAT. Is this Stevie Nicks I want to see

Stevie Nicks Gave Christina Applegate Bella Donna Outfit For Tv Fantasy Scene
Actress Christina Applegate has revealed the outfit she wore for a Stevie Nicks fantasy scene in her hit Tv comedy Up All Night was the one the singer wore for the cover of her 1981 album Bella Donna.
The Fleetwood Mac star is a huge fan of the show, in which Applegate plays a mum trying to balance parenting with her career, and asked to be a part of the comedy.
Applegate came up with the idea for the fantasy sequence - and to make it extra special for the Anchorman actress, Nicks handed over her Bella Donna costume.
Applegate explains, "When she came to set... she brought me her Bella Donna white outfit and her shoes and her jewellery and everything that she wore, like, 30 years ago and that's what I got to wear.
"She has it in a vault and she brought it out of the vault; it hasn't come out of the vault in 30 years... It's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen in your life. The second you put it on, there is a wind machine on you... You are that person and you're twirling and you can't stop."
