1. A Buckingham and Nicks album
2. A Fleetwood Mac album
3. A new Solo Album
4. Nothing new

I *hope* it's releasing Buckingham Nicks, but seems more likely it will be another Fleetwood Mac album. I forsee those two happening before she makes another solo album... though of course, all (or any) would be welcome.

Solo album. At this point in her career, I thoroughly believe that any mention she gives of a Buckingham Nicks or Fleetwood Mac album is just piss and wind; meaning there's completely nothing in it at all.

Solo album, and then another Fleetwood Mac album. Buckingham Nicks is done, dead, dusted. They might re-release, but they'll never make another album. They have Fleetwood Mac for that.

I agree. Unless Lindsey gives in to ALL her criteria & demands, there will not be another FM record. Stevie holds the cards. And I believe she is much happier in a non-FM recording situation at this point, esp after In Your Dreams. She will endure a money making FM tour however:rolleyes:

Her next move isn't listed in the poll: she'll certainly do more touring before she does anything. Probably a small summer solo tour- possibly another Mac tour a year or 3 down the road.
I'm not sure what the prospects are of Stevie recording new studio material ever again. IYD was the most critically acclaimed album of her career (with or without Fleetwood Mac), yet it sold very poorly & did not even receive any industry award nominations. I'm thinking this probably was the last nail in the coffin of Stevie's recording career. I dearly hope I'm wrong, and a new Fleetwood Mac album will be her next move. :)

I think it is a solo album. She knows a good thing when she sees it. She has been searching for a producer since the the 1980s and I think she knows she got in dave Stewart. Fleetwood Mac isn't Fleetwood Mac without Christine. She knows that.

Stevie's too creative to not do 1 more recording project. Question is, will it be with the Mac or without? Right now, I'd bet on another solo record. However, not for at least a couple of years. In between, She'll put out the IYD doc/film, do a small solo spring/summer tour in 2012, or go bigger if she grabs another co-headliner like Don, Rod, or even a Chris Isaaks type of deal. 2013 will be a FM year w or w/o new record or EP, thenafterwards one more solo soiree for Stevie. Though, I gave In Your Dreams another hardcore listen the other night, and it will be hard for Stevie to top that record!!

This! All of this actually. But if Lindsey happen to agree upon to Dave producing, I think she may change her tune on another FM recording.

I'm going for another solo album, probably about 2 years down the road. I think the tribute album we discussed earlier was speculation and rumour. Consider the source....She will definitely tour this year, I think we'll see some news around that in a month or so.
I feel that Fleetwood Mac is done recording wise, it's just too far out there to consider that they could spend a year or two together to make an album. We'll see another shed tour of "the hits" probably by next year. Say You Will was it, I think record wise, sadly. Then again, all of this could be bunk as we know they've never stuck to the two year record turn around since Tusk.

I hope she will release new solo album no matter if it's tribute to her mother or Christmas collection or something else. Now when there's no Christine McVie in Fleetwood Mac I do believe that the whole Buckingham/Nicks is just a thing of the past as they are only songwriters in the band. I would like to hear another FM album but after Stevie's solo release.

It sold better than Sheryl Crow and Melissa Ethridge last albums and it wasn't an album full of standards or anything like that. Plus, this package she is about to release might count toward record sales if she puts a copy of the album in it.
Stevie doesn't have an outlet. She can't get airplay and she is not even supported by country radio when she most definitely has country songs that can be played on the radio in the medium. One has to believe that this album will find its way somehow. It's definitely worthy. Not perfect, but worthy. Their choices for singles off this album sucked.

I think I would die and go to heaven if either of these materialized!! At this point, I'd much rather see older material cleaned up and released as boxed sets or deluxe editions than see Stevie or the Mac release new stuff. I never enjoy the recent stuff as much as the old stuff, no matter how hard I try. It seems like the quality just isn't there vocally or lyrically. I mean, I'd still rather listen to anything from the Mac than most of the popular music now, but I would love to see Mirage and Tango box sets, Buckingham Nicks, or any of Stevie's earlier solo ablums release with some bonus/live material included.

I actually thought it was one of her worst recordings, and that's saying a lot when Street Angel exists -_-. I don't think I'll ever mentally get over that cover of Just Like A Woman....:( I have to be honest also. I've only listened to IYD once since I bought it --its not that its horrible but I guess when I put it against the 'older' stuff its just not as memorable really. I guess I should 'try' to listen to it again. But the older stuff is still the best. I mean for me her voice is yes OK but its not the voice of Stevie that I truly love (like 78-84) thats my favorite voice of Stevie. We all like what we like--I mean I'd still buy a 'new' something from her but I would love limited re-issues of all her solo LP's with extra cds & DVD's included. Doubt it would happen but I so wish it would. There's so much wonderful old stuff & masters & rare outtakes /photos too that she could really market. She's just not interested in it for some reason. Which is sad really. So much is wasted --I'll not ever understand it. IMO anyway.:D
I don't know what she'll do in regards to this poll. I guess time will tell really??

I'll just quickly put in my 2 cents on IYD I think it's WAY way better then the stuff she put out starting with RAL. it was breath of fresh air to me. However....where IYD suffers to me is there's just so so much of it. I always said what Stevie needs most when it comes to albums is an editor. Someone to say......uh Stevie.....no. Guess again. I mean an album over an hour's length is a lot. Some songs should have been trimmed or left out completely. Anyway whether content and length is her call or not, it's always been her biggest drawback, IMO

Except that you're wrong, Louie. IYD did not sell very poorly. It sold quite well *for this time period in which nearly every album sells poorly*. That's an important distinction that you're missing. IYD peaked at #6 and from what we saw last has sold around 140,000 or so. Compared to her previous solo albums from other eras, yes its sold less, but compared to other albums that have come out lately it's sold fine and actually outsold albums by other legendary acts.

Eh, I've never understood the people that can't get over their emotional attachment to bygone eras of music and would "rather" have all of that re-released than see new music.
Think about it people: What if Nicks had stopped with just Bella Donna and Wild Heart? No "Moonlight", "Rooms On Fire", "Talk To Me", "I Can't Wait", "Maybe Love", etc. Whatever you might think of those individually, lots of people love them.
I think Bella Donna and (to a lesser extent) Wild Heart are great music but I will *always alway always* want to see new music. I'm glad that Nicks keeps putting out new music and I hope she continues to do so as long as she can, in spite of fairweather fans that glom on to one album and never evolve beyond that.

I, too haven't listened to IYD much since it came out. I'm sorry but so much of the music is so generic. There's a reason why we all love Stevie so much - and it's just not that evident in these songs. Stevie should realize that it's just not her voice and words that fans love - but also the haunting melodies and beautiful music. I think she really took the easy way out on this project and when I hear her say that this is the best album she's ever done I cringe.

It seems to me that Stevie has continued to get better and better. There was downward slide. The high was Bella Donna which spiraled down to Street Angel, the ultimate forgettable album. Then she released Trouble Shangri La, which was a step up, then Say You Will, which was a little bit stronger and then IYD, which was a real album. Her voice finally seemed to work with the material. She sounded a whole lot better on the album and the songs were REAL songs. I believe that her next album will be even stronger.
My only problem with IYD is that some of the songs are too long and I do not like her choices in singles. However, there are things on the album she has never did before which makes it sort of progressive for. Italian Summer is her ultimate show tune. You may be the one has her embracing the blues. I love the variety on the album. I don't listen to it all the time, but when I bring it out I still ejoy it. There is not a single song on the album that really fails. Every song does what is mean't to do. The endings to the songs are terrific. New Orleans is one of the most bittersweet songs I have heard about New Orleans.

I also agree that being stuck int he 70s or 80s, the so-called golden age of music, is a bad place to be, as there are many current bands/artists releasting great new material. I think I understand what you're getting at, but in terms of specific solo artists or groups, there are definitely high points that can never be approached again, just in terms of vocal quality, etc...especially 20+ years later. It is great that they continue doing what they love, and some of the new material can be really intruiging/different, but I think it's kind of bittersweet to try to compare the new stuff to albums released during an artist's prime.

I can honestly say that I wish could look
forward to her new music and get excited
about it like I did in the 80's. But I can't
because there has been so many let downs
with her albums, starting as far back as
Rock A Little. Though I still like it
and OSOTM.
To me Trouble In Shangri-La and
In Your Dreams are just boring. I
did look forward to both albums though.
They just never grew on me. I think it's a
combination of her limited vocal range and
the inability to write great songs like she used
to.
With that said, I am glad for her that she's
still out there trying. Maybe she'll surprise
us one last time. If not, the triumphs of her
getting her life back together, the amazing
Dance and reunion tour that followed
it. Even the SoundStage performance of just
a few years ago are three major things she can
be proud of.

Im guessing Stevie will hit the road for a short tour, promoting her doco of the making of IYD's, BTW I cant wait & we do have this to look forward too:D..
I would be over the moon if Stevie decided to do a complete Box set of Unreleased material, including many of the master tapes of her older finished Demos that never made it on past albums, eg that awesome Mirror Mirror take that we heard a few months back, there must be dozens more just like it. Also to add some brand new songs to finish of the 4 disk Box set:D. Then I'd be a happy little Vegemite;),

Well - I don't mind what she does next but if it was going to be another solo record - I hope and pray it is not a Dave Stewart affair. I don't dislike him (he did great work with Sinead's Faith & Courage) but his sound was too pristine sounding and somewhat 'produced' for my liking (compared to previous releases). Most of her other stuff had an organic sound to it - regardless if the records were good or bad.
I guess another thread would be - if she did release another solo record next - whenever that would be - who should be at the helm???
Ric Rubin really seems to 'honor' the artist, from what my ears have heard... Heck, Mark Ronson would be an interesting match too. Although, 'interesting match' is probably not what Stevie's going for when shopping around for a producer... oh well... dreams, I suppose...
