View Full Version : You Decide: Is this newly surfaced pix actually Buckingham Nicks?

This picture has been circulating @since yesterday as a newly surfaced Buckingham Nicks photo where supposably BN are performing at a ceremony (wedding?) or something...

So is it real? Or a fake?? (painstaking BN imitators)

I was just about to post this. It's been doing the rounds on tumblr all day and has caused quite a stir. Am interested to see what people think. When I first saw the picture on tumblr it didn't even cross my mind that that it was Stevie and Lindsey, I just thought it was a pretty picture. Then I saw it had been tagged as Buckingham Nicks. I can see the resemblance but I'm not 100% convinced.

Hmmm... I am inclined to believe that it's the real deal. That definitely looks like Stevie, although I'm still a little unsure about Lindsey. Still, there are several features worth noting:

-Lindsey doesn't have a vocal mic. He sings on all of the BN songs.

-Stevie has a subdued expression, indicating that she is singing a soft/ballad type of song.

-Stevie's dress looks very expensive and Lindsey looks very put together; definitely not starving artist duds.

-Stevie is in the primordial stages of forming bangs in her hair

-Lindsey is playing a C-to-G chord and is finger picking with his right hand

Therefore, I am concluding that they are performing "Landslide" and this is actually white album Fleetwood Mac era. There are no backing vocals on "Landslide."

I believe that it's Stevie and Lindsey. I think the reason Lindsey looks questionable is because of the angle of his face. But the clothes (shoes in particular) are akin to his style at the time. I also think this photo was taken prior to them joining Fleetwood Mac.

Regarding the comment of Lindsey without a mike, and always singing on all Buckingham Nicks songs: Consider that maybe they weren't performing a Buckingham Nicks song. The setting doesn't look like a formal performance; likely a one-off song at a personal event or gathering.

Mmm, could be, maybe circa '72, Stevie's hair and pose seems right, "Lindsey" looks a little big to me.
But definitely not "early or mid 60’s" as was suggested on Tumblr, there are highschool pics of Stevie from '65 and she doesn't look anything like that.
I need some more context and a better scan :D

Maybe it's Stevie with some other curly-haired, guitar playing guy. I'm sure she knew a slew of them.

I saw a Lincoln documentary where they used some photo recognition software to digitally compare facial features and dimensions (i.e. length of space between tip of nose and bridge) to determine whether the person depicted was the real Abraham.

We need some of that here.

I think back then Lindsey was inclined to look more like a hippy than that guy does.

On facebook, the information was "late '60's", taken at a wedding in San Jose. Someone said "Landslide" is the song, but honestly - they could have been doing some wedding song that was popular then and Lindsey just wasn't singing. It could have been a friend's wedding. If not then I'm thinking - geez guys - the steakhouse circuit was definitely a step up!

I think it's them, it looks like a genuinely old picture to me, not "doctored" - but I don't know a lot about photoshop features.

I think the right hand looks like Lindsey's and I think it looks like Stevie. God knows it looks like her hips.

Plus, didn't Lindsey wear that green velvet suit again at an awards show? Still doesn't update his wardrobe very frequently...

Isn't Lindsey's nose much straighter than that? It looks kind of round, but it could just be from the picture quality. When did he grow a beard? Are there any pictures of him with the Bob Weston style sideburns?

I'm trying to compare this mystery guy to similar photos of Lindsey:

Judging by Stevie's hair -- brown, center part, bangs that have grown out to about her cheekbones -- this is around the time they were recording and preparing to release Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey had transitioned from the brushed-out long hair to a small fro at that point, but he still had a mustache and no beard (as seen in this pic: http://www.superseventies.com/oaaa/oaaa_fleetwoodmac2.jpg) so his hair looks about right for that time too. This would be around the time that they were pinning $100 bills to their walls, so she would have had enough money for a fancy dress, and I think Lindsey's big collar is a look that was popular around that time, right? "Landslide" would have been written already, so the caption claiming that's what they're singing could be right, as would HejiraNYC's assessment. And then Lindsey is playing without a pick, and the position of his fingers on the fretboard looks very Lindsey, and I'm pretty sure we've seen Stevie sitting in that position while singing before -- the way she's leaning forward with her arms across her lap and her hands hanging down looks super familiar to me, although I can't call to mind the photo I would have seen it in before. So even though my initial reaction was that this was fake, it would have to be a really good fake by some really attentive fans, because all the details down to the body language point to this being a real photo of Stevie and Lindsey from 1975.

Well, that's not the key Landslide is played in... unless he's tuned his guitar up a bunch or something.

For the original key (and how they have played it live from The Dance on) there would be a capo on the 3rd fret... but in early live versions (and by early I mean, 70's/80's) he played it capo'd at the 7th.

Javier Pacheco said from 1968, Fritz practiced in a place called "Italian Gardens", which was a banquet hall for weddings and events. If this is a late '60's shot and it was taken at a wedding, that could make sense.

Found this info (http://www.metroactive.com/papers/metro/02.14.02/underbelly-0207.html) about the place:

San Jose landmark: the Hawaiian Gardens nightclub. Grizzled old San Joseans might remember when the club was named Lo Curto Gardens--in the 1930s. At some point, it was renamed Hawaiian Gardens and remained so until 1966. The last incarnation was Italian Gardens, a banquet hall specializing in weddings and Lockheed Christmas parties. All that remains is an outdoor lava grotto--or so I have been told.

Fyi, a housing development has been built over those grounds now. It's called the Italian Gardens Family Apartments. Website says: Located in the City’s Tamien Station Specific Plan Area, this project was constructed on the grounds of the former Italian Gardens Banquet Facility. Beautiful gardens from the facility were maintained. The historic Locurt house serves as a community room for the residents. This development was designed in a collaborative fashion with the developer of the Sienna Senior Apartments.

I think so! I was thinking it was a Rumours-era pic of her recording, but my brain kept mixing it up with the pic of her wearing those giant headphones and that kimono-y top with the strips, and the pic of her sitting cross-legged in the studio wearing pale knee-high boots and a long-sleeved shirt. I might also be thinking of the promo pic of the band from later on, where she's sitting down and wearing a long denim skirt and leather boots -- she's either got her arms crossed or laying across her lap in that one.

This is definitely Stevie and Lindsey, that is a classic Stevie sitting pose and if you look closely, you can see Lindsey's jaw line behind the graininess and his hair/facial hair is early 1975 ish. I would think this is pretty close to the time they joined Fleetwood Mac.

If it is at a wedding they probably weren't doing a BN song.

Maybe he just didn't want to....maybe Stevie just didn't want him to.

Or it is "Landslide"...

They were too poor for him to have a microphone...

They lost it when they moved out of the last apartment...

Some idiot didn't set it up.

The venue only had one...

The gig paid $50 and Lindsey refused to sing for less than $75.

Just a few possibilities. :)

Again, I don't think they are playing Landslide. Wrong key.

But I'm more and more convinced that that definitely is Stevie.. and if not, we need to find out who that is so we can cast her in the biopic lmao.

However, I think what really looks off about Lindsey is infact the jaw-line.. or lack thereof. This could be due to the lighting/quality of the picture.. but Lindsey has a very sharp/distinctive (for lack of better descriptor) jawline and due to the graininess in this picture it's almost as if his face just randomly protrudes from his neck  If you can squint hard/cover the area up/imagine the cut of his jaw where it should be then it looks a LOT more like Lindsey...

I know what you're saying but I think it's a combination angle/photo quality.

Speaking of biopic -- maybe they're working on it already and this is just a still! In that case - it's just Reese...and Will Ferrell.

I'm leaning towards agreeing with this.

With how much we've looked at these people, it shouldn't be this hard to determine whether or not it's them. The photo isn't THAT unclear, and we've all seen Lindsey hunch over and play guitar before.

Is there a possibility that it's just a really good photoshop on the girls face? I think we've established that Lindsey could easily be just a coincidental look alike - any number of guys with that hairstyle in that pose... maybe someone saw the picture and thought, hey that guy looks like Lindsey, so they 'shopped Stevie's face in and voila.

and wasn't Stevie's hair permed around the white album time? It's dark and permed on the back of the album, and many of the behind-the-scenes photos of them during that time her hair is curly... the style of the girl's hair in this pic is right for when Stevie was blonde (think of the pics of her on that car even) but not for anytime she's worn it dark that I can recall anyway.....

and aside from the faces being "off", there's something about that dress that just isn't right either....

I was thinking the same thing about the hair. Per my recollection (and I might be missing periods - someone correct me) t was dirty blonde and straight and long, some point it had to have been long and dark brown (BN album cover), and then it was permed and dark brown (ie, the couply picture of the two of them with Stevie hanging off Lindsey) and then the perm was growing out (circa the White Album back cover photo) and then it was blonde again....

Something about the picture is off in general. It just looks like people dressed up and sat down and posed for it or something..

Maybe it's so formal because of the occasion and whatnot... but I just don't see them wearing that. Lindsey went from like total hippie attire in the late 60's/early 70's to the wide-leg jeans and the huge platform shoes with tight button ups and all shortly after....

I think it's them. The first thing I noticed was Stevie's little poufy cheeks and pouty lips. As for Lindsey in the picture, I think it's hard to tell due to the picture quality. It was back when film was on the roll and developed at the store and it’s probably faded. It's a beautiful picture though.

I love Stevie’s dress! Starving artist or not, I think most girls could probably round up a pretty dress for a special occasion. Maybe it was a hand me down from her mother or an aunt or something. Or I'm sure Stevie had a darling friend or two who would have loaned her a dress. I sure would have!

I think this whole starving artist thing is overblown for Stevie. Her parents had money and I'm sure they'd spring for a dress here and there if she needed one. In fact, I'm sure they paid for more than we're aware of.

They're not looking at it as a piece of music history. Or they make scratch their head and say, "Who are these people? Don't remember Uncle Bob playing the guitar!"

Right, thanks for the update and your right people sometimes dont realise that they may possess part of 'music history'. But equally a lot of people are quick to jump on the bandwagon of a quick story or photo, but I suppose the current techno world makes it so much easier these days and now celeb photos or a photo of your cat appear in public ciculation in seconds.

To have had Stevie & lindsey perform at your wedding is quite a rarity and what a great retrospective memory to have had! Its one of those things that you can imagine on 'This is your life' for Stevie, introducing some random unknown or forgotten person/ couple for whom you performed 35+ years ago!

Did they get back to year with a year/timeframe. I guess it would be '71-'73 ?

If an audio of these 'Wedding Singers' were to emerge that would be extroadinary! And unlikely! But how interesting...

I think this whole starving artist thing is overblown for Stevie. Her parents had money and I'm sure they'd spring for a dress here and there if she needed one. In fact, I'm sure they paid for more than we're aware of.

Absolutely! It's quite a tale she tells - spinning the classic story of a starving artist, despite the fact that her father was a successful business man. Her upbringing was one of comfortable wealth. Sure, she slummed it "rock-and-roll style" in the early days with Lindsey, but essentially they were both well-off hippies.

I guess compared to where she is at now she would consider herself dirt poor back in those days. Oh to live in Stevieland!

It looks like them to me, pre-FM, maybe right before they joined? Stevie's dress is beautiful.

As far as Lindsey is concerned, look at the hands. Those hands look like Lindsey's to me.

His hands are unmistakable as are her lips. It's them.

Ran into this interesting Twitter post yesterday. A girl tweeted Stevie and Lindsey sang at her aunt's wedding. I asked her for details. She said all she knew was that it was around 1972 and her aunt ran off with her community college professor. They're still married. Her aunt's name is Sue.

Edit: year was 1971 per Sue's brother.

Hi everyone,

I asked Richard Dashut (at his new blog), and got a response! See below.

He says IT IS Stevie and Lindsey in the picture!

is this a picture of Stevie and Lindsey?

Hi Richard,

This photo of a young couple had surfaced on the internet recently claiming to be of Lindsey and Stevie in the early 70’s. Is it them?!

http://www.ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/sh...stevie+wedding

Yes. Judging by the way Stevie is holding her arms, and Lindsey is playing guitar, I am going to authenticate it. Plus I recognize Lindsey’s guitar from their early days of Buckingham Nicks.

Just because they're singing at a wedding doesn't mean they were HIRED to be the "wedding singers". They could've just been GUESTS at the wedding (& Lindsey had his guitar in the car truck)...borrowed the mic from the hired band for a song or two.

Yep, that's them.

well, he says he BELIEVES it is them; he did not say he knew for sure it was them. So his OPINION is that it is them, but he claims no knowledge of where this would have been or exactly when it was.

It still looks "off" to me. I'd love to get either Stevie or Lindsey to say, but the chances of that are pretty slim.

I thought him recognizing Lindsey's guitar was sound verification for the male. The female, does indeed look like Stevie, so I didn't need further convincing on that score.

He may well be right; I'm just saying there's still something 'off' about the pic to me that's all.

Unless the guitar is a one-of-a-kind, I'm not sure how that would eliminate it being a fake. It certainly puts more weight in the "legit" column but it doesn't mean it couldn't be a clever fake.

I'd forgotten about this picture til the subject of asking Richard came up, but looking at it afresh it still struck me as not quite right. Don't get me wrong, I'm not losing any sleep over this. But my skeptical side still retains some skepticism.

So, here's a new picture from that day. The girl who shared it said: "stevie's wearing her mom's wedding dress. they were paid $50 for the performance. (they were friends of friends.)" and her mother (who was there) added: "The music was background (no dancing)but definitely NOT a hippy wedding".

Edit 2: The wedding was at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA in August of 1971.

^^^ Great pic! Thanks for sharing. Wow! Lindey really flattened out the top front of his hair. I hate it! I wonder if that was his idea or Stevie's? LOL The flat part just doesn't mesh with the curls around the rest of his head...and I think that (plus the angle) is the reason that people thought the first picture that surfaced wasn't them. Always looked like Stevie to me, but Lindsey's hair (and the fact that it's styled in a way we, as fans, are not used to seeing) made him look suspect, IMO.

Stevie perfected her dour facial expression early on, as well as her penchant for wearing wedding dresses to other people's weddings!

It's really an amazing photo, being that it's two years prior to their Buckingham Nicks album. What year did they leave Fritz?

It's interesting how some surmised that this photo was just before they joined Fleetwood Mac. Stevie's hairstyle screams of an era just before Buckingham Nicks.

There wasn't an official break-up date but 1971, though it was pretty much acknowledged to be over in 1970. This is the progression of the break-up of Fritz according to Javier.

After S&L became a romantic item, things started to change in very subtle ways. Gradually, Lindsey started to change, they both seemed a little defensive about their new relationship, and here is where the breakdown in communication begins. This is a slow process that unravels over weeks and months. Gradually S&L become comfortable with each and before you know it, they are going the same way on a lot of decisions. Next thing you know we are split over certain matters. They begin to be more reclusive. Bob begins to side with them, then Brian, mostly for the sake of expediency and unity. Next thing I know, I am the sole opposition on some matters. There were areas of discussion were neither of S&L wanted to go, in terms of the candid conversations about the Fritz family. The wedge is complete. We are pressured to accept the opportunity to go to L.A. and establish ourselves through the management team of Shiffman and Larson. Not only that, but we are told that that is the best we can ever hope for. I didn’t think it was the best we could ever hope for, so immediately, I became the cog in the wheel, I am the spoiler. Bob is content to follow the majority, Brian is somewhat confused and unsure about it all. He becomes almost withdrawn.

Then, sometime after arriving in Los Angeles, around Monday, August 10, 1970, getting ready to go to the gig at the Whisky A-Go-Go, Sunset Blvd., I go to S&L’s room to try to discuss matters with them. Lindsey bluntly tells me in front of Stevie that “we don’t care what you say anymore.” I walk away speechless. I want to go hide somewhere. Now, I am not only deposed as the creative leader of the band, but my words don’t carry any weight anymore. Therefore, by 1971, we are finishing up what gigs are left. Despite my pleasure in the music, going to a gig is now a kind of humiliating exercise because there is hardly any joviality left. There is no spirit, no communication on or off the stage, people arrive and leave without hardly talking to one another. Rehearsals had long since come to a grinding halt, and I am made to feel like an outcast, like it was all my fault to begin with.

You asked me to name specific times. Here goes. This is taken from my 1968-69 calendar. I did not write exhaustively in it, but there are some vital points to share with you. No doubt 1968 was our most formative year. we were quite busy. My entries start in the fall.

October 1968--every weekend is booked solid. Cupertino HS, Roble Hall (Stanford), Burlingame Rec, The Ark (San Carlos), Del Mar High School, De Anza High, Saratoga, Menlo Circus Club, Wutzit Club (San Jose), St Francis High. We were all over the south Peninsula. November has three weekend nights that are free. The rest includes Woodside High, Jack Taar Hotel (S.F.), Gilroy High School, Burlingame Rec, St Mattias Hall (Redwood City), and Bucser High (Santa Clara). December includes some gigs on Sundays as well as weekends. Mitty High (San Jose, Menlo School, Notre Dame High (Belmont), Crystal Ball (Burlingame) and Redwood City’s Demolay.

The month of January 1969 we only played two high school gigs (on the 2nd and 3rd). It was lucky for me, because I had speech and sociology finals that month (at SJSU).

February is entirely blank. From the 1st to the 15th I have “SPLIT” written in big letters over those days. That means the group was broken up at the time. And if I recall correctly it was over disagreements between Lindsey, Stevie and I, which had boiled to a head and, as I have mentioned numerous times, comprised the eye of the hurricane. This might have been the time that Linds took that swipe at me. I have nothing for February. This was the beginning of the end. We went to a point of no return here, from which we would never get back to being the happy-go-lucky band we had been before. This was the break-up that set in motion our continued separation and alienation.

March 7-- only a gig at Saratoga High School. Underneith I wrote “start of something.” I believe that after the February blow out, I remember allowing weeks to pass before attempting to talk to the members about reconciling. The first person I visited was Brian. I could always talk to Brian, even though he was a little hesitant at first, I remember he was not just mad at me, but also frustrated with the whole situation. We reached an understanding. Thereafter, I believe I broke the ice with Lindsey, going over to talk with him at his house. Tempers had cooled and we did press on. We did that gig on the 7th. My calendar is blank after that, but I know we continued to play gigs. We did that Cañada College (daytime) concert on April 17, 1969 (the picture that’s here), and I know we continued to work through the year. The Dave Forest letters kept us current every week. Anyway, this is the time that the serious problems start. We temporarily resolve some issues--moreover, it was like signing an uneasy “truce.” We’d decided to try it again, for the sake of the band. I think we got through the rest of 1969 without a lot of hassles, doing more concerts and important dates. Things continue to unravel however, in 1970.

1970

I know we played gigs in the first two months, but I did not record them in my book.

In March 26 & 29 we are at the Fillmore West and Winterland (27, 28), respectively. I had mentioned the lineup earlier--Chicago was the main header. On the last night I noted we got a standing ovation. All this excitement seemed to tie us together slightly for awhile.

On August 4th, I write: “Band ‘practice’ today. Climax to another gap between people. Another day gone to waste--the divisions widen. Can no longer look back--4 to 1 (I’m outnumbered) and a test of sanity in a hall of blindness and hate. Constant change, constant turmoil & stimuli. Wow.” August 5th “Bob came over to ‘talk.’ The hard line. Jumpin’ Crazy fish!” (I believe I was being warned by Bob that the band would crumble unless I “straigtened up.”) We arrive in Los Angeles on the 6th.

August 7th--Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, with Leon Russell and Its A Beautiful Day. (you’ve seen the flyer here) The gig was described as “kinda a mess.” I wrote: “Too many sound problems f*cked it up.”

August 10--10 p.m. (Just before leaving for the gig at Whisky A-Go-Go) I write: “Pieces of a seeming jigsaw puzzle formulate and shatter into fragmentations of discord and conividness. Now competition becomes a household word.” (I refer here to conversations between L&S and Keith Olsen or the managers that do not include me.) “Shrewd, individual stars of illusion. Fritz ala 1970--only playing music makes me feel good.”

August 11-- “I awoke early today with the same bad feeling, like an ailment of the heart--nothing to cure it except time and a little faith in something. Tonight’s gig was preceded by another little incident. ( I am referring here to when Lindsey bluntly tells me “We don’t care what you say.”) “That put the capper on tonight as well as this whole f*cked up trip. I’m traveling in a mad dog circus called _________guess. My thoughts are on what to do about this mess--where do we go from here. I seem to be caught up in the wrong crowd--where’s the music.”

August 12--I took off for awhile with an African-American friend, Gary, singer from a once-rival San Jose group called “Together.” We went to meet some young “New Yawkas” who had just moved to a swell house with pool in San Fernando Valley. Later that night I was to meet Lindsey and Stevie at Studio City to record my demo contribution, “Louisa Joy” (sung by Lindsey). We finished at 5 a.m. On the 15th I would hear that “Louisa Joy” was “judged a hit by the president of Dunhill Records.” But nothing ever came of it.

August 20--I finish reading Huxley’s Brave New World, continue to work on the song “Bold Narcissus.” (Sorry folks, I had said earlier that I wrote it in 1969. I was wrong!)

August 21--”Today a fruitless conversation with the band.” There are rehearsals on August 24, 25, 31, Sept 2, 3, and on Sept 4 we leave to play at Salt Lake City on the 5th (we drove late night through Nevada and stopped for coffee at a bad place). I wrote that the gig was nice.

Sept 25--Show with Leon Russell, Ike and Tina Turner (Santa Clara Fairgrounds). “Reception was warm but not overwhelming.” I wrote, “the last concert with Fritz.” Actually, this is not true, there was still more to come.

October 20-- (Tuesday, Keith Olsen arrives in Bay Area to talk to the band. He’s supposed to bring news of negotiations with RCA Records. He doesn’t yet know we are in complete disarray.) The band had not talked or practiced since the 25th.

October 21--In icy fashion I scribbled: “Today Fritz was told by Keith Olsen (a commercial rock producer from L.A.) what they should’ve expected to hear.” Olsen’s words were “The band is on the verge of breaking up; having not practiced or communicated as a band for almost three weeks. Fritz is not together enough to record professionally.” My cool comment: “It came as no surprise.” No one spoke that day. In the end, everyone was weary of the turbulance, we were all ready to pack it in. I was numb.

October 23 (Friday)--The De Anza Junior College gig where a packed house gave us ovations and goosebumps to remember.

October 24--Mission San Jose High School--”The sound that was made was a roar.” (This means the acoustics were terrible.)

October 29 (Thurs)-- I wrote: “Today the members of Fritz spoke about the decline of the band and the final break up which will occur no later than December 31, 1970. Everyone was cool and restrained.” (We actually kept on playing through part of 1971.)

Oct 30 (Friday)-- Campbell High School (S.J.). “David Forest was there to offer his condolences and he seemed a little more speechless than he usually is.”

Oct 31 (Sat)-- Bellermine High School. “This was a bore for the apathetic pig Catholic punks who behaved like empty maggots. The band was its coldest ever, me included. I couldn’t bring myself to smile at Windsey--for no apparent reason. I despise their conventional superficiality.” I hated how everyone could be so cool about everything, but even I had fallen into the blasé resignation.

Wow. If it was possibly to major in Fleetwood Mac, Nicole, I think you'd have a PhD in it.

I was somewhat disappointed when I found out about Fritz and how successful they were. For me, it really put a hole in Stevie's rags to riches story about how she and Lindsey had nothing before they joined Fleetwood Mac and a year after joining, together they were a millionaire. No, Stevie, actually you were both born into upper class America. ;)

This picture has been circulating @since yesterday as a newly surfaced Buckingham Nicks photo where supposably BN are performing at a ceremony (wedding?) or something...

So is it real? Or a fake?? (painstaking BN imitators)

It looks real to me when I compare it to the BN album cover. Comparing this photo (and other photos featuring Stevie taken in the seventies) to 66 year old Stevie has me convinced that she has had cosmetic surgery.

I'm still curious how each of their hair looks different from the first pic to the second. Hers looks sleeker and flatter in the first pic and "drier" and fluffier in the second.

His hair looks quite curly in the first pic, especially on the right side of his head which is facing the camera. In the second pic his hair on the left side of his head (facing camera) and on the top of his head looks quite flattened, sort of like it's growing out.

He still looks huskier than we're used to seeing him, even from those days (old Fritz photos, BN photos).

So, here's a new picture from that day. The girl who shared it said: "stevie's wearing her mom's wedding dress. they were paid $50 for the performance. (they were friends of friends.)" and her mother (who was there) added: "The music was background (no dancing)but definitely NOT a hippy wedding".

Edit: I've asked for a location and she is checking, believes it was in Saratoga CA.

Edit 2: The wedding was at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA in August of 1971.

Cool, the bench they're sitting on is still there this day: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Villa_Montalvo,_14800_Montalvo_Rd.,_Saratoga,_CA_9-23-2012_12-59-58_PM.JPG

Wholy crap! I was at a private corporate party there years ago and sat on that bench with co-workers and got high, high, high. Fun!

To compare the 2 pictures shows the following:
They must have been taken at times apart from each other (not consecutively) because in the first one....Stevie has the mic and Lindsey has one pointed at his guitar. In the second one, Stevie doesn't have a mic and Lindsey has one to sing and one pointed at his guitar. Also, in the first Stevie has a champagne bottle and glass beside her, in the second there is a styrofoam cup beside her. Maybe he ran his fingers through his hair and puffed it up between the second and the first pics.

Also notice the shadows in the 2nd pic. Looks like it may have been taken with a flash or at night with the lights on.

Definitely, good catch. Probably was later on. Stevie had too much champagne, couldn't sing anymore, was drinking water from a styrofoam cup, Lindsey took over the singing duties after Stevie hugged his head to thank him and flattened his hair.
