If it was up to me it would be:

No idea but I'd guess among the following:
In Your Dreams
Annabel Lee
Everybody Loves You
Italian Summer
New Orleans
Was Moonlight an official single yet? I think it was just released as a video.

MOONLIGHT!!!!!!!!
(SINGLE MIX)as I have said before, a random adding of a "video" on you tube does not a single release make.:shocked:
When the album came out, (I dont remember who posted this, but) that was the MOST DOWNLOADED song from the album on Itunes. HOLY HEAVEN AN HELL, Its even the song that *MOST* OF the Ledge agrees is good.:shocked::shocked::thumbsup: And getting us to agree is a frikkin act of Magic.
(I do think that Annabelle lee could bennefit from a single edit)

Moonlight, New Orleans or the title track for me.
Annabel Lee is absolutely gorgeous, but it would be horrifically butchered as a single.

I heard Moonlight on the radio during an interview with Jann Arden on CBC and it sounded wonderful. If this song didn't get picked up by corporate robot radio, no song will off this fantastic album. I'm not holding out any hope though because radio is ignoring any new music from classic rock acts, not sure why, but Stevie isn't alone in this. The album truly has 6 or 7 potential hits and it's unfortunately passed us by, and keeps passing us by, so we'll just have to close our eyes softly till we become that part of the wind that we all long for sometime.

My next choice would be title track because it is so catchy that it could find its way on some Radio stations. Besides it has a country edge to it that can beautifully translate to Country chart success and maybe in future will inspire her to record he whole album in this vein :) My second choice would be "Moonlight" as it is just enchanting piece of Pop/Rock and should find some interest among younger audience. And finally third choice which is "New Orleans". I know it doesn't sound like potential #1 hit single but I just love this song so much that I would love it to be another single from the album.

I also love Moonlight, but I think many of us long-term fans are enamored with it because most of us have been hearing it for years. I don't think Moonlight, to a casual listener, is very accessible. I think the best bet for the next single would be, HANDS DOWN, the title track. Love it.

I'd be surprised if there are any more singles released. Hasn't this album run it's course?
Have there been any CD singles (0r vinyl format) of Secret Love and For What It's Worth? Foreign releases? Digital releases aside, I still collect CD singles.

^This. I would really like to dream that there would be more singles, but I highly doubt it. Secret Love was released in February and For What It's Worth was released five months later in July and here we are six months later with no more singles. In all reality, In Your Dreams should have been released as a single in May to coincide with the album and Moonlight should have dropped in late September to capitalize on the whole Halloween/vampire connection. If Warner Brothers has any intention to release anymore singles from IYD, they sure missed their best opportunities. The only thing I could see happening is maybe releasing another one to coincide with the documentary. Maybe they will actually release "Shadow of My Shadow" to promote the doc, but I'm not holding my breath.

I am sure that they will want to support "In Your Dreams" documentary release with additional single. And I think that the title track would be perfect choice as it shares the same name as the planned DVD. The politics of major record labels are sometimes hard to figure and too often they simply don't know what they've got in their hands. I mean, "In Your Dreams" should be their priority and they should do everything to push the album commercially. I hope they've already realized they dropped the ball in the beginning of promotion and now their approach will only improve. I believe in this album and hope it's not the end of its shelf-life.

"New Orleans" is a great song, but I don't see it as a single. I still think an edited version of "Wide Sargasso Sea" would be a great pick for a single. And I'll voice the wildly unpopular opinion that I do not want "Annabel Lee".

I have been thinking about the marketing for the record. If it were up to me, I would have found some good radio stations in key markets and see if you could find support for the reocrd to be featured record of the week or something. And get people to play it. I live in Chicago and see XRT as that station. I think it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if they could have gotten airplay and which singles would have survived. The other benefit is that listeners are hearing a better sample of what is on the record. When you only hear one song at a time, I don't think you get the full sense for how amazing the album is. I think you'd see songs like Wide Sargasso Sea make that record really distinguished from other. I don't know. Maybe I'm off. But I think you needed the stations to play a lot of the songs right away. Not sure how much any one single would make this record take off any more than it has.
The fact that Moonlight is on here does suggest however, that anyone who has liked a Stevie solo record in the past should buy IYD, getting it at least to platinum!

I concur with that. The title track should have been the first single. Secret Love is a nice song, but it was just a little too tepid to ignite much interest. It was a very poor choice that was part of a faulty marketing plan. Who was mostly responsible for this strategic failure?
Is "Shadow of my Shadow" a leftover song from the In Your Dreams sessions?
It's familiar line in "Straight Back": In the shadow of my shadow...in a gleam.

Except that Nicks herself has said that she plans "more singles and more videos" from In Your Dreams. Its possible that's since changed with her mom passing and talk about a new album with new songs inspired by her mom.....but last we knew, continuing promotion of In Your Dreams - including further singles - was planned.

We have no details on Shadow of My Shadow other than the fact that another Ledgie, I am pretty sure it was Jondalar, started a thread before the trackilist for IYD was released and talked about how somewhere it stated Stevie had recently recorded some songs at a studio, three of them being named "New Orleans" "My Heart" and "Shadow of My Shadow". Most of us were confused and thought Stevie really wasn't going to name her New Orleans song simply "New Orleans" and that My Heart was an unreleased TISL track, but why would she record it again? But come to find out, New Orleans was named just that and My Heart was recorded for IYD, but nothing ever came of this Shadow of My Shadow song. Maybe it was a mistake and no such song exists, but I have to believe there was at least one or two songs that didn't make the cut.

She did, and I think she definitely wants to, but I just think WB is the main decision maker in all of this and they seem to be dragging their feet. Stevie has gone balls to the wall for this album, but WB doesn't seem to know their ass from their elbow. I would kill for more singles, more videos, and more promotion, but as long as it is left in the hands of WB and there is nothing new, such as the documentary, to promote I highly doubt they will do anything.
EDIT: Here is the link to the Shadow of my Shadow thread: http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=46106&highlight=%22shadow+shadow%22

The priority for the record label should be getting Stevie's album back on the Billboard chart. It's easy to predict that even with huge promotional campaign none of the further singles will obtain higher positions on the main Pop chart. Their role is just to prolong "In Your Dreams" shelf life, no matter how far they'll go on AC, Country or Rock charts. We must remember that Stevie is an "old artist" which means that only few selected radio stations will play her new music. So, the key promotional tools should comprise mainly TV appearances. The more people will see, the more intrested they will get. And personally I think that VH-1 should organize something in the vein of Divas but as a tribute to Stevie Nicks and her career. Let them bring few young songbirds like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Florence & The Machines; few older guns like Sheryl Crow, Sarah MacLachlan, K.D. Lang and of course STEVIE! I am sure that the show would push "In Your Dreams" sales to Gold certification.

As much as I would love to hear Stevie on the radio with any one of these great songs we've discussed, I don't think its going to happen. As many have said, the title track had a chance at becoming a hit, but that wasn't to be for whatever reason. Same with the gorgeous Moonlight. That aside, in my opinion, the highlight of the album is Stevie's falsetto in New Orleans and to me had the biggest chance of tapping into the nostalgia. Had that song been re-configured to bring those notes out early in the song, it would have been an attention grabber and got people thinking about Dreams. It also would have restored the public's confidence in her voice, which I've heard and read many casual listeners just can't connect with anymore. To me, New Orleans could have been a huge hit based on that alone.

I know I'm in the minority here, but Moonlight is one of my least favorite tracks on the album.
The lyrics are really cliche and the vocal is uninspired. I feel like it never really goes anywhere. Weak songwriting. Sorry,
but not single-worthy for my ears.
I actually believe that Italian Summer should be a single. It tells such a sweet tale and the tune is just captivating. Plus the music is amazing.
I'm biased, it's my favorite song lol

I know I'm in the minority but imho IYD is the worst choice for the next single. I love FWIW but it was also the wrong choice. Record companies never learn when they try to capitalize on a trend, they are usually 2 trends too late. Stevie is not country. She may be good at it and her fans may like the influenced tracks but she was marketed as a rocker, established as such and is expected to be. Manage the expectations not the trends. The queen of rock will never get back on radio with folk-like FWIW or with rockabilly-like IYD UNTIL the expectation is first met with something like Ghosts Are Gone. Start with a Stop Draggin' My Heart Around and THEN audiences will be open to a ballad (L&L) as a follow-up. Open with a Stand Back and then IAF will be swallowed. Open with a Rooms On Fire (over Long Way To Go or Whole Lotta Trouble) and you may get mild interest in a follow-up but your chances are diminished. Open with a Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind over a Listen To The Rain (particularly during grunge rock fandom) and it'll be too late for anything else. TISL needed to open with Fall From Grace. The same way a DJ paces a show and manipulates people to being happy enough to tolerate other things, you give them "the" track first.
Long Way To Go
Whole Lotta Trouble
Listen To The Rain
Fall From Grace
Planets Of The Universe
Ghosts Are Gone
Wide Sargasso Sea
were wasted rock tracks that should have been lead singles with videos and attack the promotional wheel from the get-go.
And don't get me started on how stupid it was for Peacekeeper to lead off SYW lol

Considering that the definition of "rock" music has changed with time (just look at these all lists of best female rock vocalists which include no-rocking singers like Shakira or Lauryn Hill) I don't think it is necessary to market Stevie as only rock artist. Besides, how many radio stations would play rocking 60 something woman? I think it would be too much for them :)

I agree with all of this and I wish it would happen but Stevie herself would collapse of exhaustion onstage if she had to sing too many rock songs live. She has billed herself as a rock and roller but unfortunately cannot handle the vocal chops.

They are 2 separate issues to me. Long Way To Go, Whole Lotta Trouble, and Listen To The Rain could easily have been sung live because at the time her chops were well marbled lol. Planets and FFG were actually sung live and so was Ghosts Are Gone.
Regardless I'm talking about singles, videos, and marketing. Her set-lists don't comprise anything from OSOTM or SA now anyway rock songs or not.

Hmmm, I get what you're saying, but I don't think it's necesarrily that cut and dry. Stand Back is synthy and dancey, and one could easily argue they were chasing a trend with that one given what was on the charts in 1982 and 1983. Also, in my opinion, Rooms On Fire was by far the most single-worthy choice from TOSOTM. And as far as Stevie being a rocker, that was what the record execs decided they wanted to market at the time BellaDonna was being released, but I'm not sure why they felt they HAD to go that way. Up to that point, how many rockers had Stevie recorded with Fleetwood Mac? None really, although some of the tunes (especially Rhiannon) were harder in concert than on record.
