Kool & The Gang before "Ladies Night", "Celebration" and "Cherish" used to be considered as funk/rock band. It was more like fusion band which incorporated elements of different styles into their music. But of course this pairing seems to be a bit strange:) On the other hand it would be nice to hear Van Halen's take on "Jungle Boogie" or "Get Down On It" :)

Oh I so want to see VH. I'm waiting for them to get the AC, NJ venue ticket release date. Yeah, I'm lost as to the Kool & The Gang thing. They are 70s , but different type music.

I'm going to see Van Halen (minus Michael Anthony) with Kool & The Gang @ Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City in March! :blob2: I'm in the 100 level, right in the middle section. Any Ledgies going?

Yayyy, cool!!!! I'm in 121. :blob2: I saw them during their reunion tour with Sammy (in Philly) & it was really a good concert. Sammy had so much energy; I have to say that I was surprised. I'm look forwarding to seeing how Dave does. I've pre-ordered their new CD & I've heard Tattoo. I've also heard a few clips of two other songs on it. It sounds good too me. I can't wait to hear it all. :blob2:

Just digging this back up because I'd be interested in what you thought of the show. It was a sold out. I thought it was pretty good. Kool & the Gang weren't bad either. VH played for two hours straight with not much talking. I do miss Michael Anthony though but Wolf didn't do too bad. I liked the big screen in the back, thought it was cool.

My husband & I stayed the night @ Trump Plaza. Luckily we got to check in early because not too long after we did, it was a long, long line to check in. That place was packed!

For anyone interested, the whole show is on You Tube somewhere. Each song was recorded. I recorded Running With the Devil with my camera & tried to go around a someone who liked to wave her arms.
