I'm always interested because even though she has broken through a bit over there I'd imagine she's still a bit of a cult artist apart from Can't Get You Out Of My Head? I've certainly never heard of any of her singles doing massively well on the charts other than that one.

I hope you treat the crowd to a fair bit of her early material since it really wasn't know there either. I always think Shocked and Step Back In Time would do SO well at those nights.

Kylie - oh yes, I've played everything .... I go all out for Miss Minogue. Love At First Sight charted something like #23 and received a fair amout of air play at the time. Come Into My World and Slow both peaked at #91. What can I say, American radio is a pile of dog poo. :laugh:

I keep editing my outfit. For the first time in my ebaying history, I did not receive a package the post office's tracking site claims was delivered on 4/26. ?? Luckily, it was only $11 and the seller I bought from had another. Do they have a coat check at the Highline? Part of my outfit editing has to do w/ whatever the temp may be inside the club. If I get too warm, I don't want to schlep around the velvet blazer...

Just wanted to answer a couple questions - YES - ITS VERY WARM inside the Highline Ballroom...I suggest light attire but if you have a really nice outfit and want to wear it then dont let the temps get to you...it gets very crowded inside and very hard to walk thru and if there's A/C in there I can not tell if its turned on! Every year there's a variety of beautiful attire so its up to you if you can handle the heat in there.

Drinks - yes drinks are very expensive in there - however I am coming from CO where drinks are half price where I live compared to NY prices. There are 2 bars inside the venue - one on the right and one to the immediate left. Last year the bar on the right was charging higher than the one on the left so be careful! Just a tequilla sunrise will cost you $10-$12

Well, I have long dreamed of attending NOTS...it is definitely on my "bucket list" if you will...I will not be able to attend this years' soiree due to the fact that I am about to be off for around 6 weeks recovering from surgery..(I go in next Tues)....so....I had the wild idea of making plans to attend next years event..that would be a totally fabulous way of celebrating my 50th birthday......
i know the entire expedition would be seriously pricey....airfare...hotel..etc....but...dammit...I wanna attend NOTS!
So, any helpful advice from you would be wonderful.....

Well, yesterday was my first NoTS ever. A dear friend and I were invited by another dear friend, Travis (VJTre), and we had a really great time.

In perfect old lady fashion, I did something to my ankle a few days before so I was in a little pain until we sat down after the videos. At one point, I told myself to pretend I was at a Stevie concert and that helped quite a bit. Somehow, pain goes away then;-) And, speaking of videos...the selection and mixing of those Stevie videos made the first two hours of NoTS fly by. Amazing stuff. I wished there was more of it later during the "intermissions."

We stayed till after 1...so we did not see the Battle of the Stevies, etc. But, we did see the first two acts of entertainment. Some were fantastic, some were great fun. Some were an interesting interpretation of things. But, I enjoyed them all. And, you know, I came to the conclusion that Stevie must be one of the hardest people out there, to try and mimic. Loved the costumes. I didn't do that but did exaggerate the eye shadow. Hey, that's an attempt (of sorts!)

It actually was not what I was expecting at all. I'm not sure what I did expect but this was quick-paced Stevie-related goodness and the organizers should be proud.
So, thank you Travis. For the invitation and the great part you played in yesterday's activities!

Thank you Regina - it was great to have you there :-). So glad to read you had a good time. I did too. All of the performers were great - kudos to you all ... and of course thanks to all of the NOTS staff. I can't imagine not attending anymore. It is a must every year. :)

NOTS 22 was so much fun. As usual, there were a lot of unique performers. And, as usual, it was an inferno inside that place.

There's not many videos up yet. Jazmen just posted hers to her Facebook. I saw someone had requested this video somewhere earlier in this thread. I think she was the best of the night - as far as singers go. And what would I give to nestle in those boobs? Anything. I tried to catch up with her to tell her as much, as I hear a lot of people did, but she left shortly after her performance for some reason.

It's been a while my darling Chiffonheads but once again I am breathless watching all of these performances and living vicariously through all of you beautiful people as you pay homage to our Queen. I want to send out all the love and gratitude in my soul for your undying honor and devotion to her highness. As I watch these videos I am truly inspired - heart racing and the tears streaming down my face to the corner of my mouth. I am so deeply touched by this event year after year and vow to be there in person as soon as humanly possible...

well, i hadn't really planned on going "stevie-ish". i was going to have a little flair, but not all out. i found the dress 1 week before NOTS and the monster was born. i was obsessed with finding boots, a jacket and a top hat. i actually had one on in the beginning, but some guy needed it when i got there, so i was happy to oblige. they gave me a coveted tambourine in return :D
