So here we are again. Another year gone. Another year filled with the aches and growing pains of lives evolving. With the inevitable loss and disillusionment that comes with said change. When you really think about it, it seems so fickle that one unifying force would bring us all to this point together on one website. That the love of one ordinary yet somehow fantastical group of people brought with it a bond to people who otherwise we would have never brought ourself to get to know. That said love would last long enough for lives to change and "grow up" in common company. I don't know what the hell I'm getting at here. I'm tired. But I feel like I have something in me to say. Maybe...Just maybe it's a comment on love itself. And it's healing properties. Nobody ever said love had to be of the romantic kind. Because if that were an honest truth, we would not find ourselves caring so deeply for people we've never met that are hidden by an incomprehensible pattern of 0's and 1's. It does the world of good to know that somebody out there, even if you can't put a face to the name, cares deeply enough that you could even be a small thought in their day to day functioning.

That's it. That's what I want to tell you. Ignore the guff and the platitudes. My simple message to you in this brand new year approaching is that I love you. You. Right there reading this post by an unassuming young woman who quite possibly needs to get some sleep.

I love you because you are true to yourself. You value your friends, even if you haven't met them. You value your family and even those you don't know exist. Because life is precious to you. You have, if you don't me grouping myself in with this for a moment, fabulous taste in music. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are unique. And you are spectacular. There is nothing you can't achieve if you set your mind to it. You just need to remember one simple thing. Be strong. Be you. Breathe. Don't let the pain of today shy you away from living tomorrow. No matter what you are going through now, my promise to you is that it will get better. It may not seem it now. But the most triumphant and brilliant lives are borne and fuelled by the pain in their past. Take it right now and use it to make you hungry for a better tomorrow.

That was beautiful. I'm gonna quote the last paragraph back at you the next time I read a "I am depressed" post by Bee.
