Have any of you heard The Civil Wars? WOW Buckingham/Nicks??

[mikephxaz]

I just picked up the CD by The Civil Wars...If you love Buckingham/Nicks you will love this CD.....The song Poison & Wine could be a Stevie song....I think I just found my new favorite singers!! Check them out!!

[WildHearted]

Yep, love them. Love the song Poison and Wine as well. They're very talented and real.

Forget Me Not is also one of my favorites.

The cd reminds me so much of Buckingham/Nicks album...just love them!

[brocadelady]

Sure did, always been a fan of Joy Williams and was delighted when she joined up with John Paul White... Seen them live in London twice and Manchester twice.
I think any male-female duo will be compared to buckingham nicks when they have such great chemistry, honestly though I've always felt The Civil Wars' songs had a darker sound... More appalachian murder ballad than country... I'd love to hear them cover Buckingham Nicks of course...

[gypsy4life]

I will.check this out when I get home...sounds fab!

[sleepless child]

I saw the video for Barton Hollow on Palladia and fell in love with them. Barton Hollow is a great song.

[mikephxaz]

I agree they are darker but Poison and Wine is such a stevie song....the instrumental on the album..the pacing seems like a page torn right from Buckingham/Nicks.....the Civil Wars could so easily cover Sorcerer...like buckingham/nicks....or Don't Let Me Down Again.....

[shebop]

Does everyone know that they are not a couple?

[brocadelady]

Yes! Joy is married and her husband manages them right
Didn't they meet on a songwriting blind date LOL!

[goliath111]

wow, what a nice song...thanks!

[Jondalar]

I like this a lot. Think I'll be buying the CD.

[mikephxaz]

i had no idea they had been opening for Adele....now that's a great way to start a career:thumbsup:

[On Ice]

Great find Mike, these two are leaving me speechless. Poison and Wine sounds like a Stevie vault song for sure. They deserve a long a prosperous career just like our Buckingham Nicks has, but too bad Lindsey and Stevie spent so much time apart.

I'm so glad you enjoy them too....I'm so happy with the music this year...first Adele, then Stevie's IYD now The Cilvil Wars....if everyone gets a chance...go on youtube and listen to their cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean......I wish Stevie would do a stripped down album......FWIW and Landslide and Thats Alright ...make me so happy! Her stripped down version of Gypsy at the Arizona Heart Institute Benefit was incredible too! check it out on youtube...
