..and about two dozen questions and answers have already been posted. Please stop by and ask some of your own-- it will run through December 9th. Thanks and hope to see you all participating.

Marty, I am so laughing my butt off at the request you made on the main Ledge page (or was that a threat? "I can make this much, much larger..."). But, just so you know, it worked. I just stayed up waaaay too late thinking up and submitting questions for Bob to be pummeled (sp?) with...I just hope, considering the hour in which they were written, that they all make sense!

I am thoroughly enjoying the q&a so far, and can't wait to read more. Thanks again for all the hard work you do with the q&a's and everything else!

Lori :wavey:

PS: Hi to Lis and the kids! I hope everyone is well! How is Benjamin? My Madeleine is just having a total language explosion...she can pretty much say whatever she wants to...her new favorite word is "applesauce," which comes out reasonably close to the real pronunciation! ;) She is also our "toughest" kid to date, which I think stems from the fact that she has to fight tooth and nail for everything she gets, due to the competition from big sister and big brother! All I can say is that in a few years, they are both in BIG trouble! They better be real nice to her, starting right now! :D How does Brittany feel about her baby brother? Do they get along well? My kids definitely have a love/hate relationship...it's like, "Awww...come here...give me a hug and kiss...now get the HELL away from my toys!" ;) Anyway, I just wanted to ask because can you believe these babies are coming up on 2 years old already??? My goodness, it seems just like yesterday that everyone was announcing their pregnancies on the old Ledges! Time sure does fly...

Lori--

I think my notation is kind of on the threat side. I'm not beyond increasing that text until each word fills up the entire screen. These Q&As are rather difficult to set up and run and its very disappointing when people don't participate. If people would like to see other ones in the future, I'd suggest more involvement. In this case Bob Aguirre was there for Fritz, Buckingham Nicks, and beyond. I can't imagine that everyone knows everything about this time period. I may do the same for the calendars too-- although I've never charged a registration fee for the Ledge, these boards consume a lot of bandwidth and storage space and have a software license that has to be renewed in two months. I need those calendars to sell out to secure funding for The Ledge and the entire Penguin site for 2002.

I do thank you for sending in some questions-- I thought they were excellent and I look forward to his responses.

Benjamin's fine and gross motor skills are quite excellent. He can run behind and kick soccer balls, balance on wood beams, climb high slides and go down by himself, throw and catch balls, swing on bars holding on with his hands, run [extremely] fast, pretend he is a dinosaur and chases other kids, understands the concept of tag, and quite a bit more. However, he does not say a word. Hopefully soon though...we certainly are ready for that language explosion! I'd say that Brittany and him have the same kind of love/hate relationship although it seems like it might be tilted a bit more towards the hate side at times as Britt can be very, very possessive of her toys. He can defend himself increasingly well though and I doubt she'll be able to push him around much longer. They both certainly know which buttons to push to upset the other! Yes, its hard to believe how fast they are growing! (Although Benjamin is approaching his 0.5 birthday as he was born on Leap Year).

I just wanted to add that I am totally loving Bob Aguirre's Q & A... I just need to come up with some questions that aren't trite.
Mr. Aguirre is very good-natured, and humourous, and his answers are quite interesting... it's good to see that he is doing his best to answer everyone's questions, yet enjoying himself in the process.
That makes for a good experience for all.

On a side-note... Benjamin's motor skills sound like they're already better than mine! :)
I still haven't mastered that running behind and kicking the soccer ball thing.
Someone should have filmed my many tragic-comic attempts at gym class all those years ago... I would have certainly won some money on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Ah well... bet he can't type as fast as me!
*lol*

Marty, just wanted to apologize for not being able to come up with any questions for this Q&A. I know you work really hard in setting this stuff up, but i just don't have anything i want to ask.

May I make a sugestion for any possible future Q & A's....find out who people would like to talk to (besides the obvious suspects) that way you don't have to feel like you have to threaten us to get us to ask questions.

I've asked whom people would like to talk to in this forum and the list is rather short and for the most part just not possible. It's hard to track down and verify others. Its very time consuming to do these Q&As but even more disappointing when I have to pull teeth to get participation. This may be the last one.

JS-- I think that Benjamin can likely type faster than you but it would just be gibberish. Yours would be more interesting to read. :D

Oh no!!!! I would've never seen that comment if I wasn't incredibly bored and surfed this board. It might be worth it to post a "may be the last" warning on the Rumours, LB, or SN boards, maybe others will feel as badly as I do. (Although I can say I asked 4 questions, myself) I very much enjoy the Q & A's and hope others will take what they can get and GOSH DARN ask some QUESTIONS!!! Thanks,
-Brian

Marty,

I also want to ask that this not be the last Q & A. I understand where you are coming from, in that it is difficult to arrange the sessions, and then not have many people participate. However, look at the last Q & A you had: Ken Caillat. That was one of the most popular ever. You had to stop taking questions early due to the volume. So I don't think that the lack of participation in the Bob Aguirre Q & A is a very accurate representation of the Q & A's in general.

May I offer my opinion as to why this Q & A wasn't very popular? I think that its because there have just been so many Q & A's that have dealt with LB and SN's "pre-FM" era: Javier Pacheco, Keith Olsen, Hoppy Hodges, and now Bob Aguirre. I know that by the time Bob's (the 4th on the subject) came around, I really couldn't think of anything else to ask, that hadn't really been covered in a previous Q & A. And I think this is the same for a lot of people.

I think that if we get some people that are/were involved in aspects of FM that few or no other Q & A's have dealt with, then participation would be way up (I know, I know, easier said than done!). I also know that you have the list of suggestions from a few years ago, but I know that nobody involved with Stevie's solo work (except for maybe Olsen) has ever been in a Q & A.

Like I said, Marty, I understand the difficulty in arranging these Q & A's, and I would really hate to see them die. So I thought I'd pass my ideas along :D

Thanks for listening!

I agree with that theory of why folks didn't participate as much! And I also place my vote for NOT stopping the Q & A's!!
Great ideas Josh..........others, such as people involved in Stevie's solo stuff..........people like maybe Lori Nicks, Sharon Celani, Paul Fishkin, Jimmy Iovine........I know, more of "it's easier said than done"..........but those Q & A's would be very interesting, and there would be a good deal of participation in them.......maybe the buzz will be put in some of their ears from the kind people who have already done the Q & A's.......if only these folks could be coaxed into doing it--hanging out online with the lovely people on The Penguin ;) , putting up with our relentless parade of questions!!!!!! Hehehehe!!

The Q&A's are very informative and entertaining. We think most people would agree. Don't stop them yet! Please! :)

Marty, another reason that not too many people participated this time may be because Bob did not answer many questions. There were at least five of ours that he did not address...we are thinking he did not want to be controversial in the least bit. For example, after reading Javier's Q&A and getting ideas for questions...we then asked Bob to respond with his version of what happened in the Fritz days. He ignored those.
we really wanted to read his version of why Fritz ended and he didn't/wouldn't say.
And, some of the questions that were posted, he just didn't answer, instead responding with a joke.

The Q&A's are an excellent idea if simply for the reason that it gets FM and people involved with the band to take notice of the site! ;) FM knows that we are interested and asking questions about them when people like Javier and Brett talk to them about it!

Love,

I know nobody is trying to be critical of Marty, but I just want to say this because I think it might shed some light. In speaking with Marty about the Q&As over the last few years as he's been in the process of trying to set them up, I know that he has tried to contact all of the people in whom we've expressed an interest in speaking to. He's gone through many different channels to find ways to contact people that have relationships to the band and all of its members. In many cases, he's tried not just once to contact them, but has tried to contact them several times. Most of them don't respond. The ones who have responded are those with whom we've had Q&A sessions.

Nobody wants to see these Q&A sessions go away, but when he says these Q&As are hard to arrange, they really are! :)
