so does that mean there is a "Sleeping Around the Corner (acoustic)" to come? Although interestingly, after I purchased the song, "electric" no longer appeared as part of the title.

Eeeek. I'm terrible at explaining what it sounds like.
It's got a kinda tropical vibe with the percussion and it is quirky.

The iTunes clip is about 1 minute 25 seconds of the 3:33 song. Interesting lyric choice "I'll be your little Red Rover..." Catchy pop tune, but (imo) doesn't fit the theme of the CD, which is why maybe it is being released as a bonus track.

agree. it's poppy, a bit in the vein of electric SWS (which i like much better), but doesn't really fit with the flow of the album.
Wow, I LOVE Sleeping Around The Corner! If this song had made it onto 'Seeds, it would be my favorite. I'm still giving the new album enough of a listen to give an opinion on it, although right now, I wouldn't say I like it as much as Gift Of Screws or Out Of The Cradle (my two favorite LB solo albums). And, I feel like the new songs I heard at The Saban sounded better live than these studio versions with the exception of Seeds We Sow. Now, I can't stop playing 'Sleeping! Gotta get back to the other songs on Seeds We Sow.

Probably too ashamed of the lyric "never meant to give you a frown" to own up to it.
I guess he wrote that sentence before taking his pills.
Funny to have words like "lord" and "darling" in there. With this and When She Comes Down, he reminds me of Christine a lot. I don't think she burned all of her bridges.

But more than affair. A marriage? Because why else would he have anything to do with her papers, unless he's an immigration officer. Did this woman marry him to become a citizen, but he married her for love and then he found out she was sleeping around the corner with another man?
And British, yes, I would say you're right; another clue is that "red rover" is a British or Australian game mostly. Did you guys play that over here? I didn't. I played tag.

does sleeping round the corner sound to you all like it's been written a while ago (like in the 80s)? like at the time when mac was still a group of 5? sounds somehow Christine-ish to me... or maybe the arrangement is just made to sound like that?

Well, it has such a modern Lindsey vocal that it's hard at first for me to tell- but the lyrics... Yeah, they sort of sound like something he would have had on Mirage or something. Not his best set of lyrics. There is a little Tango In The Night production sound I guess...I'm not the best at detecting these things elle. I'd say his lyrics sound really...um...1980's LB. Does that make sense?

It does sound like Christne to me. I don't know if that means it was written back then or maybe it just means he was (and still is) influenced by her style.
