I'm not saying that Stevie's the worst person in the world, but seeing as she and Mick were having an affair while he was married to Jenny Boyd, the fact Stevie had a dog named Jenny seems...well (pardon the REALLY bad pun), bitchy.

I don't know if it's the same dog or not, but Stevie had a dog named Gin before she was even met Fleetwood Mac.
I know my grandfather used to call of his dogs Rex, so Stevie may have named several dogs Gin, Ginny, etc. or maybe it was the same dog. If she'd come into FM with that dog and suddenly changed it once she and Mick started sneaking around that would have raised some eyebrows: "Oh, this dog just looks more like a Bruce to me. I don't like the name Ginny anymore."

For some reason I always imagined it being a poodle but I'm not sure if that's just something I imagined up or not.
Speaking of poodles, what was that black poodle's name? Whose dog was that? It's in some pictures with Stevie and some with Lindsey from the Tusk video shoot.

My recollection is that the dog got it by accident. But it must've been left somewhere where it could get it by accident. And I do think Stevie thought it was a funny story, if not a funny event. Others might remember more, though, or differently. I don't have the book to hand or I'd post the actual passage that speaks about it.

Oh, you know maybe not - but I remember seeing the photo at the Record Plant and Stevie was holding the dog. I just assumed whenever they fought and Lindsey wanted to storm out she always said, "Fine!" and insisted he take the dog too since she would be traveling by bus or plane.

The dog was Ginny, and she was a poodle. Lindsey drove her in the car back to LA from Aspen. (I've got a cassette of the interview where she tells this story). She was also the same dog who got spayed and Stevie sent by plane to her mom's in Phoenix afterwards (mentioned in one of the Rolling Stone interviews in the 70s)

"Hey, Carol, you should have asked Stevie if she was sure it was the heat in her sunroom or if maybe 'little Jenny' had just OD'd on blow." And we started to laugh all over again. Stevie's poodle Jenny was infamous for its love of cocaine. Stevie had told many a story backstage of her poodle's fondness for the taste of blow. She said that she couldnt leave a packet on any of her tables at home --- if she did, the dog would eat it, paper and all --- and then run around in little energetic circles.

Mmhmm, as if Lindsey would have had to say, "Hey, Carol." That implies she wasn't stuck to him like a conjoined twin at that moment, and she may have ventured a few feet away from him, causing him to call her name to get her attention. Dialogue recall FAIL.

Diet pills were used -- abused -- commonly back in the day. Basically, they're speed so that wasn't a real insult (unless she specifically insulted her).
But, what about my favorite part? The scene where Stevie marches offstage during an encore just to snatch CAH around and get all in her face and tell her no way in hell is she gonna "let" her marry Lindsey! I just get so cracked up every time I think about that. It's just priceless.

What I find interesting about that alleged incident is the fact that no one saw it.
Conversely, everyone in the FM audience was looking in the wings and happened to see Carol's transparent skirt and were so turned on by her figure that they stopped looking at Stevie? Right that sounds like it happened.
I do like to look in the wings at a concert, because I like to see if I can see the family members, but there aren't enough people looking to create a furor that spreads through the crowd and absolutely takes the attention off of the performing star.

Yeah, I don't know what you mean, but if it's about Christine you shouldn't judge her from The Dance appearance or her album covers. She did some interviews to promote her last album and she looked natural and lovely on camera. Whatever work she had done had relaxed itself and she no longer had that "skinned pulled so tight I can't blink" look. And her body was in incredible shape.

Christine looks fantastic there. I love her rockin' body man. She's like a 20-something, which is quite what I think of LB when he's on stage running around like a maniac.
I don't know if CAH is his best looking woman after Stevie. I think Kristen was much more beautiful at her peak (:sorry:). I think CAH is very cute and has some attractive features, but she looks hit in some of her pics and nowhere near as alluring as Stevie at her peak. And Kristen was at one point quite a beautiful lady and very doe-eyed. So I'd place CAH at 3 because, I am sorry, Anne Heche isn't even up for qualification in that competition and forget about that other woman Cheri whatever... There's a video of her with LB in his forum and she's hopped up mad and he looks like he could be her son.

I don't think too much of CAH's looks. But in all fairness, there probably aren't enough pictures of her out there (and too many that we have are of poor quality) for me to make an accurate assessment.
I think Kristen is quite lovely. Stevie can be compelling and attractive, but it's not really her features on their own that do it. It's the personality that infuses them. I think Kristen's beauty is more classic.

^^^ Well, I personally find Stevie a good bit more attractive than Kristen, to this day, and I do think her features are beautiful. Her personality certainly adds something - she has always had, for example, a fantastic smile - but it's only adding to some very pretty foundations. And if we go back to the Rumours era ... well, I think she was simply ravishing.
I guess Kristen's is not the kind of beauty I dig. I don't find Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Keira Knightley and a dozen other modern sex symbols even remotely attractive. Just me, tho. Attraction is nothing if not personal, right? :)

I think Stevie has very striking features, for sure. Big brown eyes, pouty lips, etc. Certainly in her youth she was extremely gorgeous, imo, and I think she's aged well. And something else she has going for her is that she's really very unique looking - aside from a young Carrie Fisher, I can't think of anyone who honestly resembles her closely. I can't say that for a lot of other people.

I think it's time to clear this one up.
As it turns out, that's not Carol Ann. Dani wouldn't have posted it, nor would I have backed her up, had we not seen some extremely compelling evidence from a source we trusted. Believe me, no one could be more surprised than we. Apologies for the confusion.
Well, thanks for clarifying that mezzo. I'm sure it was an easy mistake, though to be honest that random lady in the pic is stunning compared to how CAH looked in that video someone posted on LB's forum. Basically, she looked even more hit and worn hard. I know I'm sounding rather rude, but in my opinion CAH now doesn't compare to how Stevie held up- which makes me think CAH did a lot more drugs than she is indicating in her book.
So I'm putting it as Stevie and Kristen. Stevie was very pretty at her peak, sure, but her personality and appeal are where it's at. She had the je ne sais quoi that stars are made of, and was a cute in her ways. And just look at her now. Kristen was very beautiful at her peak. Like her or not, it's true and she still looks lovely.
Anyway, Lindsey has always been the most gorgeous member of FM to me. He hasn't even had any work done and he's still looking gorgeous/ performing like he's 20-something/putting out masterpieces. LB ftw. :xoxo:

With respect, it's not 'true', it's your opinion. I think she's bland.
Also, while I'm here, I do feel some responsibility for misdirecting this thread. When I suggested that CAH was LB's best-looking partner after Stevie 'then and now', I was having a cheap dig at Kristen. Suggesting, in fact, that Kristen now was still not as attractive as CAH at any point. It was cheap and I feel bad about it (truly), but it wasn't a remark about that photo Mezzo alluded to, or anything else. It was an attempt to be snide by suggesting that Stevie even now is the best-looking woman LB has been associated with. Sorry for the confusion - and lowering the tone. :o

It's all good man. Jellyman, it's also very commendable that you admit that you said what you said as sort of a cheap dig at Kristen. Hey, we're not perfect. Still, as much as you love your Stevie, CAH threw enough digs at her in this book to warrant no defense on the fact that she looked/looks HARD. And given that she was so young in some of those pics in her book it's a grim reality. Kristen was older than CAH when she got with Lindsey, and is about 41 now. She looks great. Bland to you, sure, but still head and shoulders above CAH to me. :wavey:

^^^ Well, I personally find Stevie a good bit more attractive than Kristen, to this day, and I do think her features are beautiful.
Yeah, I don't agree. I think Stevie's hair is her best feature. Other than that, I don't see any attributes that stand out. Yet everything can certainly come together in a stunning fashion sometimes. I think of certain poses of hers that are historic.
Also, I'm very familiar with Stevie and her different moods, gestures, looks and what not. So, I tend to think of her in a proprietary sense that makes her more attractive to me, whether or not she is objectively, in the same way that I find a relative attractive. Somehow their looks reflect on me and my own feelings of pride.
Definitely, Stevie has a style and sex appeal that has garnered widespread appreciation around the world.

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.
I think Lindsey was gorgeous (absolutely, magnificently gorgeous) in his prime and in the last few years he has had moments of beauty, but I don't think he's aged as well as a lot of people do.
I think CAH was beautiful in her youth. I haven't seen any recent pictures of her.
I don't think Kristen is particularly striking in any way. She's pretty but in a very average sense (again in my opinion), she has nice bone structure and all.
And Stevie is probably my biggest girl crush of all time.. probably my only girl crush, really. I think she was drop dead stunning back in the day and certainly her charisma added to that, like Michele suggested. But I think if I could have any face other than my own... I would choose hers, hah.
As if any of you care hahaha. But that's my opinion on the spectrum of beauty we've been discussing.

I can't accept the idea of any human being being objectively attractive. To me, this conversation is on the level of 'What's your favourite colour?' I'm happy for everyone who likes red, but I like green and I don't think I can be persuaded otherwise. For me, Stevie = hot, Kristen = not. End of.

I like your entire statement. I agree with you wildhearted, beauty is a subjective thing.
To me, the ladies all have various levels of appeal. Stevie's is the strongest from what I know, but I don't really know much about the LB/Kristen connection other than he has been on a huge bolt of creativity since he has been with her, and that I thank her and that gorgeous family for.
Now, to me, completely from day one I have always found LB to be the most ravishingly stunning person in the band. I fell for him when he was older/gray-haired and dancing like a loony on the "Live In Boston" stage. He has it all: amazing talent, stage charisma, energy, youthfulness, and a certain boyishness about him mixed with a little nerdy edge. His features aren't attractive, they're gorgeous. Having met him and he stood right in front of me I can understand why his eyes have been a source of admiration/love/inspiration for many women. Stevie sings about them, CAH wrote about them, and even Anne Heche I believe was struck when he took off his sunglasses. He's quite an enigmatic man and he is what has kept my FM love going- well, what got it started at all quite frankly.
Still, I wish you could see that CAH vid of her getting plastic surgery. Then you'd have more of a recent visual to compare from.

Really?! I honestly think that in her prime, Stevie was one of the most beautiful women around. I've never thought she was sexy, though.
Who has a picture of Kristen at her best? I think I know what she looks like and I remember her to be really pretty.

I can't accept the idea of any human being being objectively attractive.
Oh, I think there is an objective standard of beauty. For instance, objectively, I suppose Brad Pitt is attractive. When classic lines and symmetry come together, I think that a majority of people can agree they look beautiful. I don't think of him that way, but I "get" that people do. I just don't like those types.
Same thing with Robert Redford. I see nothing there. On the other hand, a guy that I once loved in my youth, Jack Wagner, is often compared to Robert Redford. I totally see Jack Wagner's appeal, but that's probably because I "lived" with him every day when he was a soap opera actor. I knew his sense of humor, his mannerisms, even the different qualities of his voice, soft, strident, teasing. To me that made him gorgeous in a way that a man that other people compare him to (Redford) just isn't.
I think Gillian Anderson is "gasp, my heart can't take it" beautiful. But I know that objectively she must not be, because I remember that she was in existence before I ever noticed her and she just didn't stand out for me. Once I fell in love with the character she played, I thought I had never seen eyes that exquisite or heard a voice that melting before in my entire life. I find myself rewinding tapes just to see different expressions in her eyes and what was hilarious to me is that listening to the audio commentary for the X-Files movies, the producers were sitting there doing the very same thing.
But I do think there is a look that most disinterested, uninvolved observers will find pleasing, whether or not I agree with them. I think there is an objective standard -- which changes from generation to generation and culture to culture. If we saw the real Cleopatra or Helen of Troy today, I doubt that we would be impressed. But I do think there is a look that (never a uninanimous crowd) but an overwhelming majority will agree is good looking.

To me, you can't really beat Monica Bellucci when it comes to beauty. And I thought this before they named her the "most beautiful woman in the world" in some dumb poll. I think exterior beauty is objective in the world we encompass, but the kind of beauty that goes deeper than that is purely subjective. It's like that saying, "to the world you may be just somebody but to somebody you may be the world."

Ha. In most pictures, Kristen has that deer in the headlights look that doesn't do her justice. What surprised me in Lindsey's Bass video was how, innocent she looked. I think I expected her to be harder somehow. But she was soft and shy kind of, as he chased her around the house.
Things like her leaving him and Jeff alone as she headed for the airport and Lindsey demanding a kiss. There was a light and youthfulness there that revealed facets that I had not imagined before.
Obviously, having video of someone does give you a better understanding of their features, from different angles and refracting various emotions.

I remember years ago I used to look forward to People's annual "Most Beautiful People" magazine, not only to see who they selected, but because they always gave them such alluring poses. Many times, the photographs were more beautiful than the people.
I didn't usually think much of most people in the magazine, but I do remember they named two people on my own list, Gillian Anderson and Kristina Wagner (the former wife of the aforementioned Jack Wagner).

Funny you say this. I think Monica looks quite a bit like Isabelle Adjani, who I regarded as the reigning Most Beautiful Woman from 1975 to 1997. And in a few polls recently (LA Times? Time? something...), Isabelle was named most beautiful woman ever or something. So I think there must be something about that "type" which many find appealing. Also, I was also surprised to see Isabelle was so recognized. I thought it was a "me" thing (until 2005's 3 Dancing Slaves, I thought 1994's Queen Margot was the hottest movie I'd ever seen).

I know we're digressing but, yes, Isabelle and Monica look eerily alike, and both women are stunningly gorgeous.
Also, Michele, isn't Jack Wagner going to marry Heather Locklear, who I sometimes think looks a *tad* like Stevie (and I don't know why)? Anyway, Heather is always on those "most beautiful" People spreads, or was for a long time.
But back on-topic: in this book does anyone find the entire scene where LB took some Quaaludes from Stevie's purse hilarious? Like, I wish it was all ojn video. The things they did in their youth...man...

Yes, they are engaged. I don't think much of Heather's looks. I'd say Stevie is better looking than that:laugh:. But it seemed like Heather had a great personality in the old days. With their senses of humor, I bet she and Jack were a riot together when they were both on Melrose Place. Now, it seems like she's hit a midlife crisis of sorts.

Someone here pointed out to me, based on looking at the awards show footage we have from that night, that the way they were sitting it couldn't have happened the way Carol described it. But yes, they must have had some wild times. I remember Marie Osmond saying that her son played a game with his friends where you just dumped out all of the drugs from your parents' medicine cabinets onto a table and then you just ingested them, whatever they were. That reminded me of some of the lurid tales from the seventies.

Really? I thought those two scenes felt totally staged. I got more of a "shy" vibe off her in the IWY video when she closed her eyes and turned her head away from the camera or in the NTL doc when she was sitting in the floor amidst the sea of decorating books and looked down as if she was wishing he would get the heck out of her face with the camera.

The "chase" scene was totally staged, but to me kind of fun in a childish way, like children pretending.
As for her leaving for the airport, Lindsey was being weird, but I think she was being natural and not comfortable with him filming. If shyness isn't the right word, then I would say awkward. She looked really human in that moment in that I think he was setting up a scene and she was trying to just leave.
To me, she looked totally different than the woman laying against him on the Town and Country spread, who seemed . . . I don't know, cool and calculating.

I like the little vids he did with the tour (OMG, I can't eve remember...Michele, which tour was it?). Anyway, I love how LB demanded she give him a kiss. Lindsey is rather demanding. I just get that vibe from him, but not in a bad way. Just in a "I want you right now baby" kind of way. I mean, he didn't say it in a pushy way, just, "give me a kiss" with some force to his voice.
All I really remember, though, is when Kristen hugged his brother and said something like, "Hey Mr. B- the other Mr. B." She was very pretty in that video and very cute.

If it was happening today, it probably would be but I'd imagine there are a lot of videos of them that the general public have never seen. Perhaps, we've seen many videos from them on YouTube but what happened when the video camera was turned off?
