Last week I emailed Cherry Red, a record company who specialise in licensing albums of artists from 70s/80s and reissuing them, remastered, with bonus tracks (and even discs!) containing extra tracks and b-sides from the time. Recently they've done a great job with Kim Wilde's back catalogue. I wrote to ask if they've ever considered reissuing Stevie's back catalogue and the unissued Mac albums from Mirage onwards, this is the reply I got:
Hi ********,
Many thanks for your project suggestions, they're much appreciated.
I have looked into related projects before but our requests were denied. I totally agree that they would sell to the required level however agreeing a license would be the major problem it would seem. I will look into this again and consult with our business affairs manager to see if he feels the license applications would stand a chance.
Thanks again and best wishes

I replied and thanked him for the email and asked to be updated if they get anywhere - will post any further news as soon as I get it!
