Though now I buy much of my music at online sites such as Amazon, I get most gratification from hunting for stuff at at cool record stores. Granted, record stores are sadly a rare commodity, but the experience and the possiblities are more exciting.

Yesterday I went to Newbury Comics with no particular idea of what I might buy. I spotted a few bins that had vinyl records. Flipping through them I was surprised to find Lindsey's Gift of Screws album on high-grade vinyl! After brief consideration I had to claim it for $14. It also included the CD, which was a nice touch.

Then, checking out the magazines, I saw The Doors on the cover of UNCUT, a Euro mag that I ocassionally buy. It's not cheap - $10 - but it always comes with a compilation CD. (Over the years I've amassed a large collection of them, but never listen to them; it's all obscure european bands/singers that I have zero interest in).

I bought the magazine and was suprised to find a 3 page article about Lindsey Buckingham! It includes a nice overview of all of his solo work.
When I walked into the store I had no idea I'd walk out with a double dose of Lindsey.

Now I'm just waiting for his new album to arrive in the mail.

Newbury Comics is surprisingly one of the better music stores out there. They always have the stuff that big chains like Best Buy seem to be missing. For example, they had the CD single of the recent 'Stand Back' dance mixes that were released a few years ago. They generally have all CD's from an artist (sometimes used). I noticed the vinyl section the last time I was in there, but it seemed to be all newer artists. They always have all of Stevie/Lindsey/FM's DVD's in their respective sections, as well.

I plan to go to Newbury Comics on Tuesday to buy the new release! I'll have to poke around a little bit more.
