I know that it seems like tempting fate in the middle of all the cancellations and postponement talks to plan a meet up, but is anyone in the Boston area interested in getting dinner before our show? VivFox, EnchantedStevie, and I are all planning on it, and since Viv's vegan niece is part of the group, too, I was thinking we'd eat at The Pulse Cafe: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-pulse-cafe-somerville. Looks good, right?

Let me know if you want in! I'd love to see everyone.

Thanks for the invite! I'm going to the Boston show but won't be able to make a dinner before.

I actually wouldn't mind a delay, Monday night stinks for a concert! Work is going to be horrible Tuesday!

You don't have VIP tix do you? I think we'll probably park in the VIP resturant / lounge there while what's his name is opening.

Not sure, when I bought the tix, they asked me if I want VIP ones for the same seats but cheaper. I'm like, ummm ya!

I guess it gives you entrance to the bar there and drink service to your seats.

I hope you are factoring that the restaurant is in Somerville , it maybe only 8 miles away from the Bank of the Week Pavilion
But the Traffic here is horrible and there is no direct public transportation to get to the pavilion ,

There aren't many vegan options in Boston, and we'd really like to make this a nice night for Viv's niece. Don't worry, I know my town. And there is indeed public transportation to the show-- the silver line takes you there, and the restaurant is on the red line, the easiest silver line transfer.

Vegan meal...of course. I spaced. Apologies for putting in my unnecessary two cents.

HOWEVER, if you are going to the Boston show and are unfamiliar with the area, please know that the Seaport, the neighborhood of the venue, has been super invigorated with restaurants that run the gamut from gastro-pub-ish to fine dining. You will not be at a loss for pre-show dinner and drinks or post-show drinking establishments (kitchens do tend to close early in Boston--particularly on a Monday. You won't have as many post-show dinner options). Hit me up if you want my recommendations, happy to help the visitor!

What's your favorite spot for drinks? I'm going to be at Eastern Standard the night before the show (Kenmore Square area, if anyone is coming in a day early and wants to join me), but I won't be able to stay after on Monday, and I don't know what's good around BOA :woohoo:

I'll be driving to Marissa's frat house and parking there. Then she and I will be taking the T around together since she knows it better than me lol all I know is that the North Leominster train goes straight to North Station LOL Even though the last train is at 12:10(or something) I dont wanna chance missing it. So I'll just drive and have a few Red Bulls lol Plus, I have a GPS. Even though a driving buddy would be nice

No vegan places that I'm aware of in that neighborhood. As you know, vegan meals in non-vegan restaurants are few and far between, so I have no suggestions for you .

DAN'S SUGGESTIONS (please know that I live in Boston--walking a mile is 'no big thing' as far as I'm concerned. The first group of places are a 12 minute walk from venue):

For cocktails on a roofdeck with an amazing view of harbor/city :
SAM'S
http://samsatlouis.com/

For down and dirty seafood and beer with fun views of city:
Barking Crab
http://www.barkingcrab.com/content/boston.html

For a fun dive-ish retro/rumpus room dinner/drinks place:
Lucky's
http://www.luckyslounge.com/home.html

For arguably the best cocktails in Boston:
Drink
http://drinkfortpoint.com/

CLOSER TO VENUE (7 minutes or less walk)
Jerry Remy's (for a high tech sports bar, it has a secretly good and inexpensive wine cellar):

I've been to Boston a ton of times and I honestly dont mind walking around...which is what we mostly do...sometimes we'll take the subway...but rarely. Like yesterday I went to Boston to go to the aqarium and we walked the whole way from North Station there...which isnt bad....then to the North End to eat, then Fannueil Hall...then back to North Station.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Alright, guys. Change of plans. VivFox's niece is kindly willing to go without the easy vegan option for the night and make things work around the rest of the group (she's really sweet; you guys will love her! She does want to go to my college, though, so I'm biased :o ) Anyway! I'm thinking The Barking Crab? At 6? Yes? What a show! So great meeting Caitlin, Viv, Lisa (Viv's adorable niece), and Marissa for dinner.
Marissa and I were front row, and both got handshakes from Stevie and picks from Waddy.

That was by far the best audience I've seen this tour. Stevie commented several times that she would remember how great the audience was. Hyperbole, to be sure, but she had a point: most people stood through the new songs, and everyone was pretty civilized. Security was great as well--they let the front row (and a bunch who slipped in) stand up at the stage the entire time, and were generally pretty lax.

Stevie started the show by saying how lucky we all were to be there--they'd thought the show would have to be cancelled, but the weather was great. She also talked about how this wasn't the same set they would have seen a few years ago, and how excited she was to share the new songs.

And she didn't seem thrilled to be doing Landslide. "This is the song that everyone always wants to hear. I'm going to dedicate it to all of you, because you've been such a great audience. But if I have to play it on TV one more time! They all say, 'Can you just play Landslide?' I'm like, 'didn't you just hear it last week?'" Of course, she was gracious and then said that it was part of being a songwriter, and how honored she was.

That's actually a verbatim quote. Grace, you never cease to amaze me.

The crowd tonight really was incredible (shoutout to the lovely women whom Al gave the setlist to behind me, to Peter and his wife, to the woman waving her Kleenex flag, and to the other couple that Stubhub was kind to), and there were so many good Stevie moments.

Explaining the sight she saw leaving Walter Reed:

"I turned around in my....carchair...carchair...*someone in the audience yells "seat!" but Stevie decides to just give up*...I turned around in my car and I..."

The poor thing also bonked herself in the mouth with her microphone. She was so funny about it, though. Right after she did it, rather than being embarrassed and pretending it didn't happen, she let out a dramatic "OUCH!" through the speakers and explained to anyone who missed it that she just hit herself but that she's going to be fine.

And, of course, the Landslide moment Grace quoted.

I feel like I'm missing a ton, but I'm still processing such a wonderful night. To everyone I had the pleasure of meeting, thank you for making it a fantastic show for me, and a huge, huge, special thanks to Mark and Grace.

Also, I am never going to complain if Stevie doesn't wear her boots again. I was sporting cowgirl boots tonight, and I can almost hear my feet sobbing from the foot of my bed.

I just got home from the show - it was soooo good! Stevie was really chatty tonight and hilarious with all her little stories and "Stevieisms." This is the second year in a row she's been in New England on my birthday! She was definitely having some sound issues at first tonight, she had her hands over her ears for a while and then at the end of GDW, she and Waddy had a very lengthy conversation, but she seemed okay after that.

I had second row center, it's the first time I've ever been in the center. I have to say I really like this venue, both times I've seen her there, security has been pretty good and as long as you're not causing any problems they don't make you move. They checked tickets for people at the stage and then after they checked everyone at the stage I asked if I could hop over the seat in front of me and not go to the stage (yet) but hang back in front of the front row of seats and they were fine with that. They were coming down on people they saw taking videos and people they saw that were taking excessive amounts of flash photos, but other than that they were pretty cool.

Right before Edge, I got closer to the stage and was trying to get right up there - a big thank you to the gentleman in the Bruins hat who when I told him it was my birthday he let me stand in front of him and then formed a barrier behind me, his girlfriend and a female friend of his so that no one could push us! He's my hero! :wavey: Stevie shook both my hands and when she reached for my hands she looked down at me and I told her it was my birthday AND SHE WISHED ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I then proceeded to cry all through the rest of Edge and Love Is and continued most of the way leaving the venue. I have seen her dozens of times and every time I am like a little kid on Christmas Morning. Thank you Stevie for making this the most memorable birthday yet! :blob1:

Edit: Two things I forgot - right after "Ghosts Are Gone" an airplane flew over the venue since it's right by the airport and Stevie goes, "What was that??? I guess the ghosts aren't gone!" And I think her vocal coach has a gorgeous voice, he sounded so good singing the solo male part on "Leather and Lace." Big thanks to him for keeping Stevie's voice in shape so she can continue to tour! :)

Yes, Stevie, I'll be sure to mail my money to the .org. The postal service will enjoy that one.

Yes,the full quote was even better :) She KILLS me..:D

Ok..got home and got a few hour sleep,so here is my review...
I ended up waiting til the last minute to get tix and it worked out well..6th row! And my friend Lori(StevieRox81) grabbed a single seat last minute and ended up in my row with my friend and I!
The security was actually really cool, except that they were serious nazis about camera AND phones, which kind of sucked..but i can also see where Stevie is coming from at the same time.. so it's all good. She was hysterically funny last night.. the whole .org comment that was previously posted, and when she was telling the story about the video for FWIW,how she was pissed because there was actually no lake and it was 100 degrees out:laugh: She basically said she is sick of doing Landslide.."If i have to sing this on TV one more time.." And when the plane flew over after Ghosts..she was like .."Did you hear that"? Yes,Stevie, the venue is right next to Logan Airport...its not a ghost lol.
Her vocal coach is KICK ASS..i don't even like Leather and Lace that much but i loved it last night..also,Michael Grimm came out and played Mike Campbells part of FWIW,is that something new? I got up to the stage at the end and got a handshake...which,as many times as it has happend, just makes me wanna cry everytime..it was an AMAZING show..i brought a friend who is a casual fan and she was just floored by Stevie..and loved the new songs!!! I had some idiot behind me who, during the intro to Rhiannon was like "Oh,it's Sara, she never plays this",i was like are you kidding me?? But i bit my tongue :) All in all...great time..so psyched for SPAC tonight! We will be there earlier so hopefully i can actually meet some Ledgies! I text Caitlin but i got there so late it was mass chaos then the show started...so hopefully tonight will be a little slower paced :)

I knew i forgot something..i didn't realize she has bumped into the mic and i was like wth is the "ouch" for? She is too much :)

It is not cool to whack people in the place with your flowers goddamit! It was like the Wiltern all over again..i was like are you effin kidding me? The crap i deal with for the Edge walk lol..

Yup. It's the same three quarter length thing that's had a different design plastered on it for the past few tours.

Hi all.I got back to CT about 4am.And to beat to fire up the computer. The drive to and back was easy with no problems to report. The show was awesome.Bump into Ed and the girls MarkViv}Thanks for the long chat guys.Nice meeting you all.Did see Marty eating outside from of the lobster place.Said hi to Waddy when he pop out in the parkinglot next to the lobster place.Almost had a chance to meet her back stage after the show when me and this guy from Rhode Island with a Stevie tophat were standing by the back stage enterance inside the venue. But no luck at that time.At that time Lenny and Sharon pop out and greet the line of us.That was nice of them for doing that. There was probably a dozen of us standing over there.

Ok Stevie's show was Awsome.A killer performance with Standback.I ditto as some of you already reported.More Irene references. As said. she whacked the mike.Ouch.She's lucky she didn't break a tooth. The seats suck were I was at.No edgewalk for me.But benefited it to take photos and vids and almost filled a 4gb flashcard. As long this gaint guy in two rows in front of me does not stand. As of now I'm so backlog at looking at them and uploading any.The girls next to me and the people around me were very quiet. Not chatty which made me enjoy the show more.
I had a great night. a close call on meeting her.Nice crowd. Not many drunks around.
Again thanks Stevie for a wonderful show. Skip R.......................

Quick thoughts:

Dreams...fell in love with that song for the 3000th time last night.

Moonlight was much more enjoyable than I expected. It's has a good, building momentum live and it was sung with vigor. I'm assuming that is Waddy's wisdom in the arrangement--well done. It got strong applause considering it was a song that, probably, most folks had never heard before. Having said that, a lot of people in my section knew the new songs!

Soldier's Angel was terrific--and I'm not too nuts about that song on the record. Very effective live.

I had to leave early, but I had a lovely moment outside the venue watching passers-by stop on the sidewalk in silence and listen to the end of Landslide.

She was so awake and bright-eyed, that I couldn't help but think of the Timespace show I saw where she was so dead behind her glassy eyes that I thought to myself, 'I'll never, ever go see her live again because she's all done. She doesn't care. She's just making $'

My only complaints: The sound could have been a touch louder and she was almost TOO chatty.

Stevie put on a fantastic show last night in Boston. I thought all of the new songs came across so well on stage. I was so pleased with this show! I went with a bunch of family members. We got there right when the doors opened (too early). Michael Grimm was okay. We just sort of stood at the side of the stage during his set.

I had a 5th row center aisle seat which was cool. I noticed people were standing right at the stage before she came on, so naturally I went up and joined the rest of the crowd (as well as my cousin). I put my beer on the stage and Carlos told me to move it! So embarrassed! I said "omg I'm sorry!!" Can you imagine if I electricuted poor Carlos?

At this point, I was beyond thrilled, thinking I was going to stand at the stage the entire night. Let me say, the crowd in Boston last night was INCREDIBLE. Everyone in the front three sections stood the entire night, even during all of the new songs. I was so happy about this! Anyway, Stevie came out for Stand Back in her red cape. That cape truly is BEAUTIFUL! She did some slow twirls tonight, but I think this was because the stage was small. She didn't have much room to go fast.

At the end of Stand Back, a guy was coming through checking everyones tickets and I got booted back to my seat. :-(

Secret Love - This one is cool as the second song in the set. Everyone is still jazzed at this point to see Stevie. This song got a nice reaction. Everyone was dancing and I saw a bunch of people singing along.

Dreams - Same old

Moonlight - WOW! Now I love this song on the record, but the live versions didn't seem to be doing much for me. I think the band is trying hard to vamp this one up on stage. After the first lyric there was a loud cheer from the audience. I was so shocked that so many people knew this song already. They showed some clips from the video on the big screen.

Gold Dust Woman - The violin ending of moonlight extended into the GD intro, which I thought worked so well. Many people knew that this was GDW, probably from previous shows. She did some cool moves at the end that I hadn't seen before. At the end she said something to the effect of "that has a nice beat at the end there, doesn't it?"

Soldier's Angel - After this song was all said and done, it was about 15 minutes. She told the story we all know. This was truly amazing live!

Annabel Lee - She did the whole "hello Edgar, hello Stevie, he's here tonight I know it" bit. Everyone was up and standing for this one too. I was so happy! She cut out the entire second first and the guitar solo at the end. Everyone put their hands up in the air at the end cheering, it was awesome. Got a GREAT response.

For What its Worth - She brought out Michael Grimm once again to play. This song is great live, definitely sounds like a modern day Landslide (somewhat). At the beginning, she turned and watched the video and sort of pointed at the crowd and was like "see look."

Rhiannon - I took a video of this so I wasn't really watching. Love the new sleeves!

Landslide - Again, took video (for friends) and didn't watch much.

Ghosts are Gone - Now THIS is a song! Wow, this just absolutely killed live. At the beginning she said "Waddy would call this song 'interesting', its a wild rock and roll type song" Then she went over to Waddy who whispered something in her ear and she went back to the mic and said "I'M NOT SAYING THAT!" She sort of did the walk to each side of the stage, or each side of her microphone. This killed!!

Leather and Lace - I couldn't watch because I was too nervous about getting to the stage. The security was in FULL FORCE last night. Lots of people kept getting in fights. I have never been to a show where security had to intervene so much. Literally, they were in my face every song because they had to say something to someone in the audience. RIDICULOUS!

Edge of 17 - At the end of LnL I pulled a security lady aside and said "Can I please go to the stage? Stevie shakes everyone's hand at the end of this song." She said, "which one." I say, "right now" and completely by pass her. I made it right to the stage for Edge. That moment where she is walking towards the end of the stage is just pure ecstacy. She grabbed one of my hands and I said "you're beautiful" and she grabbed my other hand and said "thank you." I could have died! I took a video of the last three minutes and then got in trouble!

Love Is - BEAUTIFUL! This is so amazing to hear! Complete silence in the audience. At the end, she said "did you catch it?"

Al Ortiz gave me a head nod. I think he recognized my from Facebook? Amazing show, wish I could see another stop on the IYD tour!

I agree totally with your review, the crowd last night was incredible!! I loved that Stevie seemed to keep noticing that and kept saying what a nice audience we were and how in 20 years she will look back and always remember what a nice crowd that Boston show was....she was so animated, inspired and FUN!! :blob2:

Stevie Nicks fans have three more chances to catch the iconic songstress before she wraps up her North American summer tour. Nicks has been road-testing brand new songs from her seventh studio album, "In Your Dreams," which debuted at No. 6 on the The Billboard 200 in May.

On Friday (8/26) Nicks took a slight detour to perform "Landslide" and "For What It's Worth" live as part of Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in New York City. Next stop for the "In Your Dreams" tour is Thursday (9/1) at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, and this weekend's final shows will be Saturday (9/3) at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA, and Sunday (9/4) at Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, NY. The aforementioned locations were all in the path of Hurricane Irene, but so far there have been no cancellations announced as a result.

So I had an amazing time at the Boston show! I leftmy house around 1ish?! I went to Wellesley to pick up Marissa and we got ready there and then drove down to Boston. We ment to jam out to Stevie the whole way but ended up rapping to whole way xD

We then meet up with Mark(Vivfox), Lisa(his niece), and Grace. We had a lovely dinner and went to the place. While waiting for the doors to open Grace and Marissa and I went to Dunkins for some coffee =P As usual my phone like died before the show even started. But this AT&T guy was like "oh we can charge your phone during the opening act and then after you can come pick it up. So of course I was like =O I LOVE YOU! lol

We went in and I walked around a bit and chatted with the ATT&T guy because he was awesome and we had a lot in common lol Oh and he LOOOOVES my Stevie tattoo.

Stand Back- Right before she was like "LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED" or something along those lines. As usual...awesome! Looove the red cape!

Secret Love - I love this song so I was wicked pumped! Her voice was quite good tonight.

Dreams - Same old

Moonlight - WOW! I loooove this song on the album and I LOVED it even more live! Its also my ringtone lol

Gold Dust Woman - She did her sassy cape moves near the end with Waddy...loved it so much!

Soldier's Angel - Not a huge fan of the song on the album but idk why but this song was just SO amazing live! You really felt her emotion! After the song she said if we had any extra money to send it to www .[website].org....and she said "i dont even know what .org means..."

Annabel Lee - At the beginning she put her arm up like it was around someones shoulder and was like "Hello Edgar" and turned around and did the same thing and was like "Hello Stevie". Again I love this song so much and it got an awesome response from the audience. She kept saying how awesome the audience is.

For What its Worth - She brought out Michael Grimm for this song. Lately, I've really related to thos song because Ashley and I broke up(but we're still BFFs lol) so everytime I hear this song it makes me cry(ashley too)...So I was trying SOOOOO hard to NOT cry during the song lol But it was amazing! I think after the song she grabbed Michael and went over to her mic and accidently hot her self with it and was like "OUCH! I just hot myself with the mic but I'll be okay" lol

Rhiannon - Slow intro...I like the version where she busts right into Rhiannon...I like the slow intro...but not my fav. Anyway, awesome song like always and man I love those Rhiannon sleeves!!!

Landslide - I remember her saying how whenever shes on TV they ask her play this song and shes like "do i really have to play Landslide again?!?! We just played it last week!" But its always a good classic =) Of course everyone was singing

<--AliceLover pretty much covered it =P

Leather and Lace - She brought out her vocal coach and they sang it together. It was SO cute. She also did her little thing where when the guy sings she goes over and dances behind him.

Edge of 17 - LOOVED Jimmy and Lenny's little percussion solo! It was ballin! Stevie comes out in ALL white! Whenever I took a picture she glowed like she was GOD xD LOVED this! but I think she missed the very beginning of the song. The Edge walk was pretty cool. I didnt go up there but I watched from 10th row lol I would love to have Marty's job LOL The end of Edge was pretty intense! I cant really explain it but I hope theres a video!

Love Is - Everyone was SOOO quite! It was just her..Lori, Sharon, and the piano guy. I loved it(as I did every song) At the end she was wiggling her fingers like it was raining and shes like "did you watch it' SO cute!

This was my 2nd solo Stevie show EVER and I loved EVERY minute of it!!

Stevie Nicks pleases in return to Boston
A review of Stevie Nicks at the Bank of America Pavilion on August 29, 2011

Kevin McSheffrey, Managing Editor With the voice that’s helped sell over 140 million records, Stevie Nicks hit town on Monday in support of her most recent album, In Your Dreams. Although her latest effort hasn’t quite sold in the mass quantities of her previous works, it has received highly positive feedback. The veteran singer would prove that she can still garner the same response with her performance as well at the Pavilion.

Infamous for her style, Nicks appeared for the first number, “Stand Back” in a red shall over a black gown that looked like a party dress fit for an evening at Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s house from “Rocky Horror”. She would use her wardrobe to set the tone on several numbers, appearing with a golden shall during “Gold Dust Woman”, which had fans roaring from the opening drumbeat, sporting all black for the classic “Rhiannon”, and later returning in all white for the thrilling “Edge of Seventeen”.

However, the night wasn’t about fashion, but more a celebration of both old and new. Nicks mixed in hits from Fleetwood Mac and her solo career, with the new material making up about half the setlist. She used imagery to portray the mood of her new material with videos featuring herself and her niece (playing the young Stevie) and producer Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame. She told the story of the video for catchy new single “For What It’s Worth”, saying it was filmed to recreate a bus tour she took back in the early 70s. It was the last time she toured by bus after her great displeasure over the experience, however, the video of the gang hanging out in the desert did appear more cheery.

“Annabel Lee” was a fun discovery, with Nicks explaining its origins came from an Edgar Allen Poe work that he wrote for his wife, which Stevie put to music at 17 but hadn’t recorded until this year. It was worth the 46 year wait just to see percussionist Lenny Castro bang away with a smile from ear to ear. Still, the strongest of her new music was “Ghosts are Gone”, which Nicks introduced as “early 70s rock” and her band did not make a liar out of her, especially lead guitarist and musical director Waddy Wachtel with his scorching slide licks.

After an extended jam on “Edge of Seventeen”, during which Nicks greeted fans up front across the entire stage, the leading lady returned with just keyboardist Darell Smith for a ballad, just as Fleetwood Mac have been known to do at their shows for years. She chose to sing “Love Is” off her 2001 album Trouble in Shangri-La, saying she was prepared to close with the song “for the rest of her life”. Although it couldn’t live up to the ballads it followed (“Landslide”, “Leather and Lace”), the song was a tender moment that fans can likely live with as well.

Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham recently stated that the band could be back for a tour and perhaps even a new album next year. After Stevie Nicks’ outstanding performance at the Pavilion on Monday one can be sure that she’ll certainly be ready for the call.

“America’s Got Talent” winner Michael Grimm opened the show and would later join Nicks and co. playing guitar on “For What It’s Worth”.

This was an excellent show! I had a great time hanging with Caitlin(Enchanted Stevie), Marissa(Like A Willow),Grace(mezzoforte) and my neice Lisa. Also meeting Ed (Heirja) for the first time and a couple of other Ledgies who prefer to remain as lurkers.

My neice had no clue what Stevie sings other than Landslide but she left the venue a fan. Well somewhat of a fan. She told me show dl'd 3 songs from IYD to her ipod and when I asked which ones she had no clue but I do know one of them is Moonlight. She said she enjoyed Stevies' hand gestures in FWIW.

One Ledgie asked in another post somewhere if we could recall what Stevie said in between songs. The one that stands out the most for me and no one else mentioned it here, was when she was introducing the piano player she said he was the best piano player she's had since Christine McVie. Stevie said, "and she ain't coming back."

This venue was absolutely gorgeous and it was a warm summer evening. I loved my fun conversation with Grace while leaning on the railing overlooking a bay.
Stevie received such a loud response from this Boston audience. Everyone cheered loudly after all the new songs were performed. I was in the 1oth row center and everyone in front of me right up to the stage stood for the entire show. I had to watch most of the view I had of Stevie in and out of the upraised swaying arm of the red head two rows in front of me. I saw Ed dancing and singing TGAG and smiling at Stevie as he sang.
What wonderful memories. And after the show we hung out with Skip(macfanforever) for some after show chit chat.
Marissa, you are just as gorgeous in person as your photos and Caitlin, Grace and Marissa, thank you for making Lisa feel like one of us.

Love, Viv
