Just on the off chance I walked into Tower Records today in Dublin and found Seeds We Sow Sitting there pride of place just inside the door! I've just put it in my stereo to listen to now!
It's so nice that Europe gets Lindsey's stuff first, when we have to wait months later to get Stevie's! Thanks Linds! :)

It's a cardboard sleeve, with a red disc, the sleeve is gatefold and opens to a lovely picture of Lindsey playing guitar... There's a booklet with it which has some really nice photos and all the lyrics listed...

I'm only on track 4, and it's already amazing! An instant hit of an album, most other Lindsey albums needed time to grow on me for me to fully appreciate them, but this is just instantly likeable!

Now, onto a brief comment. Oh, Michele...
Sequencing by Kristen Buckingham
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
That is so exciting! I think I may be able to get the album the Friday before it comes out at this one awesome record store that sells everything a week before the release date. However, I'm still not as cool as YOU having it in your hands now.:wavey:
So Kristen co-wrote a song/took the cover shot for the last album and now she's sequencing the album? Wait for the next one when she produces and plays half the instruments.

too cool that you have the album already [although i'm sooo jealous!] - and thanks for reporting details here.
you know, when i first saw the track list i thought how sequencing on this album seems so much better then usual (start quietly, followed by all these great rockers right at the beginning so one just has to keep listening ) - maybe Kristen really does have a knack for sequencing unlike some others who claim they are so great at it!:cool: of course, it's hard to tell without really hearing the whole album...

If I didn't have a dissertation to work on I'd be on a bus to Dublin right now and waiting for them to open tomorrow morning! You're so lucky!
Any idea why they have it out a week before the release date? I thought it was meant to be 2nd September in Ireland.

(I feel like I'm spamming with all these posts now :P):]
I just finished listening for the first time, and yes the sequencing is really good!... There's no dipping of interest at all, and is a really solid album from start to finish... At times is sounds like OOTC, and at others is like GI... but imagine the sound of both of them combined, with UTS thrown in... I dunno, I'm not very good at reviewing music (plus, just back from a date), so my writing skills aren't the best... let's just say it's GREAT!...:blob2:

Haven't a clue... Maybe someone made a mistake?... i didn't look to see if it was in any other record stores... I know it wasn't in HMV Blanchardstown yesterday... I'd get there ASAP incase it is a mistake and is taken off the shelves until the 2nd...

Oh, Elle - surely you don't mean Stevie Nicks??? Perhaps, she gave Kristen some helpful tips.

Sadly I won't be able to make it down from Belfast any time before 15th September anyway. Much too busy, but it is seriously tempting to try and go tomorrow... Damn all this work getting the way of my Lindsey Buckingham fix! Glad you like it. From the clips I think I'll love it as well so all is good.
I'm really excited for the album! Ahh!!! It's so sweet that he dedicated it to his kids. I imagine they're secretly his biggest fans.

Oh, for heaven's sake. Can you believe it? What is it about Lindsey that makes women yearn to sequence??
Hey, how come she doesn't get a thank you or a dedication?

It's just funny because I don't think anyone gets credit for sequencing on most albums. It's like they're making up tasks just to attribute them to her.
But Lindsey said that Kristen wasn't too keen on having Flying Down Juniper on the album, so I always knew the women had good sense -- as well as good taste in men.

I've never heard of just anyone getting credit for sequencing and I've read a bazillion liner notes. So funny.

I agree about the good taste in men but I liked FDJ. Of course, I liked the Love Boat theme too...

Just wait for the interviews where Lindsey will be quick to insert: "My wife actually did the sequencing."

The good ol' days of UTS when we were ecstatic beyond words because our guy was finally making real on his promises...and now all these tours and another album later here we are. Ugh, I'm so grateful to be a Lindsey fan. *sigh*

Well, so far everyone is fairly cool with her sequencing on this album, so I will bite my tongue until I experience it myself. But you aren't a FDJ fan, eh? I've always loved the feel of that song. Kinda liked the "Love Boat" theme song.

I don't particularly like the music and when I know he had spectacular GOS leftovers that (still) deserve to see the light of day, it was hard for me to accept this inferior filler track.
Yet, I don't detest Juniper and when Lindsey explained it, it took me back to my own childhood, my neighborhood and riding bikes down Marlowe and Hubbell and I know exactly what he means, especially when you've lost a sibling and they are a part of all of those memories.
Before I heard Lindsey's interpretation, the song actually reminded me of an X-Files episode, in which Mulder finally comes to some kind of peace over his missing sister by letting himself believe that while she was being abused, she was rescued and taken away to a heavenly place by some spiritual "Starlight" creatures. She disappeared from this earth and they took her to another dimension where children are free from pain and play happily all day (groan).
Well, FDJ always reminded me of that.
My sisters and my brothers all dead and gone.
Did you know that wishing don't make it so?
All the children flying down Juniper.
All going where children go.
All the children flying down Juniper,
let us go.
But that reminds me of our other thread and the way love goes, "it goes, it goes."
The "let us go" in Juniper can have both a pedestrian meaning, let children be children, carefree. But there's a higher one too. Let go of your memories. Don't live in the past. Release the childhood hopes and the things you cling to that are gone. Move on.
Michele

Wow, yes! I really need to give LB way more credit as a lyricist because he has been impressing me for years.
I appreciate your explanation Michele. It isn't my favorite on the album, but it fits for me for some reason. Now, I agree with you 100% about some of the songs I would LOVE to hear officially released, and I guess I wouldn't mind if he would put those on my dream box set he's supposed to be working on for release in the sometime near future, after all this is done. ;)

Where did Lindsey explain the meaning?

Where did Lindsey explain the meaning?
In one of his many album promotion interviews. I don't have that one accessible right now. Among other things, he said Juniper was a street in his boyhood neighborhood in Northern California and they used to ride their bikes down that street.
