So which will be dropped tonight: Moonlight or Annabel Lee? I'm sure one of those two are next on the chopping block.

I'm hoping neither of them is dropped! lol...it's bad enough "In Your Dreams" was dropped. I'm seeing her in NJ next week and hoping nothing else gets cut. I really wanna hear Annabel Lee live :)

Good energy at tonight’s show. Setlist:

Stand Back
Secret Love
Dreams
Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream)
Gold Dust Woman
Annabel Lee
Soldiers Angel
For What It’s Worth
Rhiannon
Landslide
Ghosts Are Gone
Leather and Lace
Edge of Seventeen
Love Is

“The clouds never expect it…” verse was cut from Edge of Seventeen, and security wasn’t allowing fans to come forward for the Edge walk.

Additionally, some funny tidbits from tonight:

Stevie forgot to actually name Sharon during the band introductions, which (after prompting from Lori and the crowd) made her blame her lapse on that it was "late in the set."

Stevie thanked the crowd, at two separate points, for attending a show with new songs. She stated she was "very proud of these new songs" and mentioned how redundant "greatest hits, after greatest hits, after great hits" shows are.

No Edge walk?!

There was an Edge walk, you just had to be in the pit. I can see why. The way it was set up it would have been dangerous to let anyone else rush in, although it sucked for those of us sitting ever so tantalizingly outside of it.

She sounded spectacular tonight. The best I've ever heard her sing at a show I've been at (I've been going to shows since 1998). I thought it was funny that she said thank you for standing during my new songs. I know she said standing because it stuck out to me since the women behind me were mad that I wouldn't sit down. I don't understand people who sit at rock concerts. She also talked once again about how Chicago is her second favorite city (what happened to first?). She has to say L.A. is first because she lives there, although she doesn't like it that much. She still wants to buy lakefront property here in Chicago. My neighborhood has lovely lakeviews, Stevie! ;)

Unfortunately there were a lot of people sitting during the new songs, but I guess that's to be expected. She said she was bored doing her greatest hits tours (so were we Stevie), so she loved being able to do the new songs. The thing that bothered me the most were people screaming during her explanation of Soldier's Angel. Really people, be serious for a moment.

Anyway, I have to hand it to the security lady in my section. She was like 5 feet tall but wasn't taking crap from anyone. She stopped me and other people from filming (in my case it was Moonlight, sorry guys, I did get about 2 minutes but don't think it's worth posting),and she ran off every single person who tried to come closer. It was impressive.

Oh, I forgot about her telling about Chicago being her "second favorite" city! Great photos, Erin. Thank you for sharing them.

Also, that little security lady was a force, wasn't she?! She wasn't taking any guff.

No Edge walk?!

Sorry for the confusion. As Erin noted, yes, Stevie did the Edge walk; however, only the fans in the pit got to "group" for it. Several fans (not in the pit) tried to come up but were turned away by security.

Is it just me, or is Stevie sporting two totally different hairstyles at this show? At first it is parted in the middle and has a body wave. Later the part is shifted to the side and her hair is straightened. I must admit I really liked the middle part 'do! Very wild looking.

It was a great show. I was in 12th row to the side. I don't understand why I can never get closer. So irritating. But it was an old crowd. I hate when people sit at concert and yell at those standing to sit. Then when you sit, they clap. If you want to sit, get balcony seats. Don't expect to sit and hog the close seats. The woman is 63 and she is standing the whole time - think you can too.

The crowd loved all the songs. I felt all songs got great applause. But no denying that anything pre 1981 were the favorites. Leather and Lace and Landslide probably the favorites followed closely by Rhiannon, Dreams and Gold Dust Woman.

I actually loved hearing the new songs but I can see why she continues to play some of the old songs. And it is nice hearing so many people sing along and enjoy themselves.

She did sound great.

Oh yeah - I did not care for the I Love You Stevie while she was introducing songs particularly Soldier's Angel. That story was touching and then there are the idiots.

Next month - Lindsey!

I was in section 203.

There was a family of morbidly obese people behind me cracking jokes and talking the whole time that I wanted to smack. In fact, two of them were sitting in seats I paid for but could not find someone to go with me. I should have alerted security to haul their fat asses away with that same device they lift Shamu out of the pool with. :P

Stevie DID sound good, Soldier's Angle is WAY better live then on the record.

I was in sec 109 11th row and this one woman who I never saw throughout the whole concert is all of a sudden showed to her seat by an usher as if she just got to the concert and it was Edge that was playing lol. then she was so out of it, she screamed the whole song off-key. I'm like sister, did you come to hear Stevie or yourself?

Agreed on Soldier's Angel - that song is fully realized live and the power of it is not captured fully on cd. Love Is is also one that must be experienced live imho.

** Not true, I was to the left of Stevie and she came all of the way over to our side in front of the speakers they had set up................thus, even if you were not in the "pit" you could get close and shake her hand during the Edge walk.

As an aside, I noticed that there were a LOT of empty seats and I was Row 4 to the right of the Orchestra Pit, those of you in the back sections 209 etc could have easily moved up with no problem.

Stevie was great and I loved when she forgot Sharona's name or at least forgot to mention it after introducing her. She also repeated three times in succession how she did not want this to be a "greatest hits" tour......................and I for one was very glad that she mixed it up. Loved Love Is as the finale BUT still miss BATB.

Did anyone notice that Stevie didn't do a single "kick" last night??? Not may signature twirls either, cept for GDW??

The duet with her voice coach was awesome and he did a better Don Henley than Don does!!!

Alicia, I saw you the whole time, You're normally snapping away like at Rod? What happened there in the Pit??? Was security on your a** or what??? I saw a bald guy in a "security" shirt to your right rear?? He was in the pit the whole time, which is unusual. There was a lady near me who took photos and video endlessly and security for some reason never said a word to her??

Oh, and from the back, you really do look like Stevie :) (I think its the hair)

It was nice to see you again!!

Yes. I've noticed. At first I thought it was caused by the humidity at the midwestern shows, but Rosemont is indoors, so she's definitely teasing her hair, then blowing it out straight later in the show.

So thrilled she actually acknowledged this, even more thrilled she finally did something about it! This attitude hopefully foreshadows that a new FM EP or full record will materialize before they tour again.(pray hard...pray harder) It's the reason I've always suspected she did all those covers in her setlist from 05' on.

Soldier's Angle is WAY better live then on the record.
AMEN! I've always liked the song on tape...it's so raw that it practically interrupts the polish & mood of IYD, but it truly comes ALIVE in concert & I've been in love with it since the tour started.

Security was very tight at Rosemont Theatre which was unusual because during the pre-taping of Soundtstage , I sat near Joe Thomas' family and lots of people were going up during the Edgewalk. Not just IN the pit BUT outside of it too. I agree that last night was much tougher. I did see that small lady and yes, she looked like "no one" was getting past her...................

Last night's show was absolutely amazing. . .

Some random memories:

Stevie said Chicago was her second favorite city. She said she lives in Los Angeles so she has to give it some credit, but don't be surprised if one day she buys a house in Chicago and we see an old lady walking by the lake. Someone in the audience yelled, "You'll still be beautiful" and Stevie was like, "Aw thank you" and said something else but I couldn't make it out.

She was extremely chatty last night and even talked about some songs that she really hasn't been introducing. She said Secret Love was written in 1975 and is so old that not even she remembers who it is about. The audience loved that.

Introducing For What It's Worth, she said it was about a 3 month bus trip. She said they went to El Mirage Lake (I believe) to film the video. She, Karen and Jessi drove there and they're sitting in the car talking about how beautiful the lake is that they see, and when they get there, Stevie's like, "There's no lake is there?" (imagine that Stevie tone that can be slightly hysterical). She loved the idea of the mirage though and talked about how people have died crawling to this "lake" (she did crawling motions and all). She said there were 40 mph winds when they filmed this and we were going to see the video behind her but we'd have to wait to see the singing parts since she was going to sing it for us.

During a quiet moment, someone yelled out "I love you, Stevie!" She was walking towards the microphone and when she heard that she kind of scurried towards it and was like, "THANK YOOOOUUU." The crowd went nuts and a whole bunch of "I love you Stevie" 's erupted. It was a pretty cool moment.

The band intros were sort of hilarious. Someone already mentioned the Sharon part which everyone got a kick out of. Stevie also said, "You know, Sharon, you could have been my sister-in-law at one point too." Sharon's mouth dropped and Lori started cracking up.

Security was very strict for the edge walk. We were 2nd row pit and my friends weren't even allowed to go up to the stage. I was lucky though that the security guard didn't notice me step over the front row seat (thanks again to the guy who let me have his spot at the stage, if you're on here reading this). Everything worked out though because I got a special moment during the walk and so did my friends.

The end of Edge was in-cred-ible. Stevie went insane doing the "I know what it sounds like!" part. She was crouched down and just the look of intensity on her face and in her eyes when she was singing it blew me away. Waddy gave her a look afterwards like, "Where the hell did that come from" and Stevie kind of gave a playful shrug.

This was my second time seeing Stevie at The Rosemont and after last night's show I'm completely convinced that it's the best place to see her.

[QUOTE=Haunted_Song;1009965]I was only able to take a few tonight...so here they are!!!

Security was BRUTAL last night in the pit. Not only were pictures not allowed, a guy behind me got yelled at for texting! Christy and I were not allowed to get up to the stage for the Edge walk (we were in the 2nd row), but we both reached out for Stevie and she leaned really far and took each of our hands for a handshake. I wish you would have introduced yourself...I would have liked to meet you!

Agreed, Amber - Rosemont Theatre is the BEST!!! I wanted to mention that I thought that Waddy's introduction was really cute last night - Stevie said "thank God for Waddy". It made me tear up a little.

Hello to all! I've been a member for a few months, but with the chaos of everyday life have just never gotten past the lurking. Well, I literally had the experience of a lifetime Tuesday night..everything just seemed to go my way!

Long story short..I initially just had a first row ticket behind the pit and was beyond thrilled for simply the concert experience. And Stevie did NOT disappoint. She truly is a legend as we all know. The fun started a few days before the concert when, on a whim, I entered a local radio online contest for a meet & greet prize. Well I freaking WON!!! I was dying. Ended up winning an additional 2 tickets..which I gave to my parents who hadn't seen her since '75 and in total 2 backstage meet & greets for after the show.

As mentioned before, the show was great! High energy, hilarious comments and true love for the audience and what she had to offer us in return. Prior to the show I had confirmed with the security guard (who was on her first day of the job AND a Stevie fan :) ) that I could go up for the Edge walk. I actually wasn't supposed to and she kinda got in trouble at the end..oops!!! Anyways, she ended up letting me go right after L&L and I was leaning up on the stage directly in front of Waddy. He's insane, what talent! Somehow got a guitar pick from him at the end..right after a full 2 handed grab and smiling 'head nod' of thanks from Stevie! Waddy actually started cracking up at me after the lights came up at the end..as I was thanking him for giving me the pick..and pointed out laughing "Oh my god! You're young!!!" I'm 20 for reference..so I guess he was right!

Directly after the show I met up with my Dad and we got in the first group of about 20 to go backstage. Saw/talked/met Waddy again, which was cool. My dad got to bro out with him about the Winos (w/Keith Richards back in the day) so it kinda made his night haha. Stevie came out and started making the rounds..quickly introducing and having Karen take photos. I had thought about what I wanted to say to her..and a '79 Jim Ladd interview had really touched me recently. If you haven't heard it, I really recommend looking up the clip!

Basically Stevie mentions a girl coming up to her and saying (paraphrasing) 'I know you hear this all the time, but you truly have such a great gift as a songwriter. You're so special.' And Stevie interrupts her and goes, 'Wait a minute..I do NOT hear that all the time. And if people like you don't come up to me and say that..who will?' It's a pretty emotional moment at the end of the interview and I don't know but it really hit home how I felt about her talent as well.

After Karen took our photos (*edit help! my pic is too large to attach!) I asked Stevie if I could tell her something really quick. She said of course and grabbed both of my hands with hers. I started to say that I had listened to the interview..and as I started saying how Stevie had responded I kind of choked up. Softie I know.. But I took a deep breath and she squeezed my hands. I just said that she should never forget how truly special and what an amazing poet and songwriter she has always been. And how much she means to me and so many other people. She was so gracious and kind of whispered that it meant so much to her to hear that. Then she started telling me old Jim Ladd stories and just little tangent tidbits. Oh! All of this btw was with us speaking like 2 inches from each other's faces haha. She stared into my eyes the entire time..it was so surreal! I tried to step back at one point just by habit and she stepped forward again still holding my hands :)

All in all it was about a 5 minute convo and she reached out to hug me at the end and again thanked me for coming up and telling her those comments. As I was leaving the area, my Dad was like okayyy, what was that all about?! You guys were in your own little bubble! Management or someone I guess were saying that they couldn't let everyone talk for as long as our convo anymore haha. I was honestly truly touched by the whole experience. I'll never forget it. And to make things a little more special..the radio guy (who had to email the photos to me from Karen) said right after I was done she went into her dressing room and the 40 or so other people not in our group only got to meet the band! My luck..which is usually not so great..was in fine form that night! And 'the feeling remains even after the glitter fades..' has never seemed more fitting!!! Magic...

Great story and great first post. With the picture, if you post it to a photo sharing site (like Photobucket) you can get a link and you paste the link here and then we can all see it. People here can do it for you, if you like.

Here we go, thanks again Michele!
And Stevie is flawless in person..man, I mean is there stage makeup? Yes. But all I have to say, is I need to get her doctor's or whatever contact's number for down the road...jealous!

You had a conversation with Stevie about my favorite interview ever (and my favorite part of it). You're sort of my hero now. So freaking awesome.

Wow...that's pretty amazing and I'm so happy you had that experience with Stevie. No, you will never forget it! And I know what interview you're referring to...It's probably my all time favorite as well. I got goosebumps reading your story!
