Hi all. ok so in the other thread, because i couldn't remember something, i said it was due to my "Secret Love Syndrom". I tend to throw Stevisms in my regular dialogue often. Do you? If so, which ones do you say?

Oh, I do the whole dialogue in my head almost every morning unless I'm thinking of something specific or talking to someone. While I'm pouring the water into the back of the coffee maker I'm thinking "They send me out here to do these jobs because I'm the one that talked them into getting a Bunn coffeemaker". Accent on the Buunnnn.

I'm so happy I'm not alone. I love you guys.

Oh, and recently I was having a really bad day and posted on facebook "I don't do drugs. But if I did, tonight's the kind of night where I would put Stevie Nicks circa 1986 to shame." and one of my fellow Stevie fan friends replied "This... is... serious".

MiMi, I love this thread!

If someone asks me where something is or where I'm going, sometimes I say, "All the way down to Emmiline."

NO ONE in my life knows what the heck that means....

That cracked me up, he's munching on the chips and talking about calling his mom and Stevie pipes in with how he thought it had only been a month since he spoke with her when it had actually been a lot longer.

Someone where I work uses the phrase "It's all good" whenever you ask him how it's going, whether he really means it or he's totally being sarcastic.

I've noticed that i'm starting to do the same thing with "It's all the same..."

so knocked out?

Stevie says it a lot. Noticeably, at the beginning of the Dance concert DVD, when she says they're, "so knocked out that [the audience is] here"

Yes, and for some odd reason I love the way she says Bunn. Like it's not just any coffeemaker but it's a Buuuunnn coffeemaker.

I've also started using the word "chick" a lot because of the commentary in the Stand Back video where she talks about the soldiers thinking "hey, this guy's hassling that chick" or something.

And my biggest one that I use, that I just remembered is, when someone is complaining about something I always go "Don't rain on my parade, Tom" (substituting their name for Tom... sometimes) from the Gold and Braid demo. My close friends that know the reference get called Tom in these circumstances. Everyone else gets their own name.

Also, sometimes after some interviews or listening to boots of past shows, I start using the phrase "Heavy." It's such a dated term, so I find it funny that it's part of of her standard vocab.

and when my coworkers talk about folks that are getting high, i say "he/she needs to get off drugs"

Whenever I say/hear someone say 'intense,' I always think of Stevie, not only because she says it all the time, but because of that one article where they specifically pointed out her over-use of the word and in sometimes inappropriate contexts.

Sometimes I find myself talking in that southern californian accent of hers. And occasionally I'll just let my head drop all the way. And ever since I heard the interview when she used miserability I am not ashamed to say that it has become a normal part of my vocabulary!!

Okay, just when you think you're an accomplished Chiffon Head. Someone fill me in on "miserability" and "no click?" Please???

Speaking of "valley girl" speak. I remember seeing Stevie in Pittsburgh for the Street Angel tour at the Starlake Amphitheater (where some guy threw a hot dog at me for standing while Stevie was performing and then spit on me as I was leaving, I know, really). At this point she had not been doing much speaking during her shows and I hadn't seen a whole lot of interviews, so I had this image of the Rhiannon/Sisters of the Moon/Gold Dust Woman Stevie being all mysterious and ethereal. She's opening with Outside the Rain and Dreams and there's this storm brewing, so during Dreams you see huge flashes of lighting off in the distance all around us. It was wild. So after the song is over she says hello and then says something like "did you guys see that lightning while I was singing... that was sooooo cool" in a very valley girl sort of way. And I remember thinking, "who IS this?" It was so not how I had expected her to talk.

There was a rally in Long Beach recently over a series of gay bashings that have been happening and I couldn't make it but I kept thinking that if I was there I'd be so tempted to grab the mic and go "...and if you **** with my people I'm gonna get REAL ****ING ANGRY!!!".

Not that gay bashing is anything to laugh at, but I tend to use humor to help me deal with bad situations and that just seemed like the perfect thing to say because it would be a strong statement but inside it would give me a little chuckle. And any die hard Stevie fans in the crowd would go, "wait, where have I heard that before".

Stevisms that are part of my vocabulary include:

- I was bored stiff!
- Here we are... Coffee's making! (whenever I'm making coffee which is not often)
- If you **** with my people I'm gonna get real ****ing angry! (every time someone disses my favorite singers/bands)
- NO CLICK!!!
- Otherwise we're never gonna be able to pay all this money back!
- I'm gonna go have a drink - a stiff drink (after a long hard day)
- I'm only talking 'cause I should really keep my mouth shut
- I will! We will! Sort of like Girl Scout cookies!
- I think I should take one moment now - because, because I just love to take one moment
- If you read between my lines... No one knows unless you really look
- If you can't rock and roll, you're old
- I don't need doctors, nurses, or babysitters - I need love
- I want to be a star! I don't wanna be a cleaning lady!
- It would be great to smoke a joint, it would REALLY be great
- This is SERIOUS
- I was so knocked out
- My rocks of Gibraltar
- Timespace
- Miserability
- Surrenderful
And last but not least, my personal favorite:
- I won't make you mozzarella and tomato tomorrow, that's fine (whenever I'm mad at my friends)
